Daily Cap Increase

It would mean, at worst, you’d have to spend an extra six days maxing your dailies. What’s the difference if you do it now, or at the end?

Not much of a difference for myself since I’m just reaching cap, but for those who had it for months, kinda got shafted a bit.

I don’t think so. This is all really long term goal stuff. If they’ve had it for months, they simply have to wait one single month (assuming the raise in the cap comes on the 13th). They’re losing one month. That is to say they will cap their 15,000 at 1 month past what they would have.

Considering how many years it takes, it’s hardly being shafted.

More to the point, there are other rewards for doing dailies now that they never would have gotten before, in addition to the achievement points. No one is shafted by creating an exotic for free and getting 3 ectos. lol

That’s a positive way of looking at it and you’re right, having loss ap for which you will eventually reach the cap in comparison to the new rewards, seems like a great deal.

Thanks again for all your input

after my 10k cap, it’ll be 4 days (40ap) til the 13th. what happens to the 40ap?

You won’t get it. That’s what a cap is.

I hit the 10k cap months ago. Haven’t gotten any from any daily since.

ouch, that really blows.

At least I know from you that until the 15k cap kicks in I won’t gain any additional ap,
thanks

I would guess the same thing that happened to any player’s AP that hit the cap previously. It will be forfeited. It won’t be grandfathered in. It won’t be retro-active.

Just my guess.

Good luck.

well that would be unfortunate, i can only hope it is the 13th, then I’d only lose 40ap :P
but if not, nothing to cry about, I’ll eventually get to the 15k cap anyways, unless they increase it again :S

thanks for your input

But if anyone does know more information, feel free to let me know.

The Wiki is updated and maintained by players just like you and me. There is no footnote or link provided where the player that updated that page got their information.

As stated above, it may well be the 13th, but the official announcement states, ‘a Release early in 2015’…nothing specific.

Let’s assume it is the 13th, since it’s not an official statement by anet, the concern still applies. after my 10k cap, it’ll be 4 days (40ap) til the 13th. what happens to the 40ap?
or
let’s assume its 2 months from now, thats 600ap from now til then, what happens to that 600ap after my 10k ap cap tomorrow?
I know its hard to say what happens to it, that’s why I’m hoping someone here might know.

I don’t think anything will be retroactive, nor is it a guarantee that Jan. 13th’s Release will be the Release that consolidates the Daily and Monthly cap. It may very well be the Release in question, but no specific date has been announced, that I am aware of.

Good luck.

According to the wiki:

“There is a cap of 10,000 for daily achievements. This cap will be raised to 15,000 after the 2015-01-13 patch with the merge of Daily and Monthly Achievement Points and caps. Once the cap is reached, additional points from the “Daily Completionist” meta achievement will no longer increase the account’s achievement points, but individual reward bonus chests will still be given out. On Jan 13th, 2015 the cap will be increased to 15k ap for dailies.

My only concern is, I will hit 10k ap tomorrow.
For the following days 9th – 13th will i still receive the daily ap or will I lose out on 40ap?

What about those who reached 10k ap daily a few months back, do they get credited for those days lost after the cap or is it a loss?

Thanks in advance.

Hey,

Been playing Sanctum Sprint and I noticed I cant open the chest at the end.
I know it gives a thimble and some other minor stuff, but I’d still like to get it.
I’ve come in 3rd and haven’t gotten anything, same with coming in 9th and got nothing.
Just thought it would be nice to take a look at it and hopefully get it fixed.

Thanks

Engineer vs. Subject 7.

First 5 gambits (no extra enemy, no tremors).

Bomb kit, elixir gun (only for the toolbelt heal), flame turret, supply crate elite; your call on the heal skill I think.

Traits are 10/0/30/30/0 IINM. There’s some flexibility but I used backpack regenerator, elixir infused bombs, forceful explosives, elite supplies… the rest is probably personal preference (blood injection and energized armor were used as well I think).

Gear was mostly tanky armor, but trinkets were more berserker I think since I found I needed a bit of a push in damage. You might have to experiment.

The encounter is simplicity itself. Stand on top of him, drop the supply crate and flame turret early (the turrets should all survive the whole time so you want them going the whole time), then just do your thing. Move around a bit if you need the healing supplies, plus the elixir gun toolbelt skill and your heal skill/toolbelt. Only use the bomb, fire bomb, and smoke bomb (1, 2, 4) skills; I think concussion bomb isn’t worth it, and glue bomb is definitely a waste, and if you waste too much time you won’t finish. Throw in liberal overcharge of your flame turret for more blinds to keep the small oozes at bay. It’s really quite mindless in a rather beautiful way.

Dude, thank you so much.

I was already pulling my hair out, I use mostly War/Ele/Thief but was having so much trouble. Luckily I had a lvl 80 Engi, this build worked amazingly.
Exactly how you explained is all i did, didn’t even have to use elixir gun kit, had no difficulty at all.

Thank you bud and hope this helps many others who were having difficulty.

*If anyone else wants to post a solid guide like above for the other classes that would be awesome, that should help those who don’t have an Engineer.

Thanks

Time Stamps On Guild Members

Rooster.3261

This may not be a huge issue but would like for it to be implemented some day.

I would like to have a tab or an option in Guild Menu to allow the guild leader/members to see when the person was last on. I run a small guild (290 – 300) and dont really see myself going to 500, so when i get close to the 300 mark I tend to do some cleaning in the guild (kicking members to make room).

Only problem is, with the amount of players in the guild its hard to keep track on who goes on. By adding a Time Stamp I will know if someone hasn’t played in months and not feel bad for kicking them out of the guild to make room for new players.

Let me know what you guys think about this.

Thanks

Guaranteed Chest, Too Much?

I don’t see any problem with the current state of affairs. Trash rares has a floored value set by their expected ecto production, and actual useful rares can be as much as twice that value. The market, as is, is stable and reasonable. If anything, the drop rate of rares from vets and champions should be higher, and given the fact that ANet has announced guaranteed boxes for champions in the future which may or may not include rares, I think they have that handled.

But in my perspective, a rare should be rare, getting it often defeats its rarity. Some rares do value much and I think its due to the Mystic Forge, but soon you’ll be able to craft your own precursor and I bet those same rares will drop in price.

By Anet adding Champ Boxes, its only gonna add to the grinding. Unless the Champ box is 1 per account and not 1 per champ.

I feel when you find a rare or earn it, you should feel like you accomplished something or worked hard for it. Now its more like gather rares, salvage, make money. Im not saying to nerf rare drops in general but more of give the main events (the 3 dragons) give you the guaranteed, while the 1 minute men give just boss chest.

You have to agree on some degree that rares are easily obtained, mostly from the dragon events. Ecto is supposed to be an exotic material, but I bet a lot of players has stacks of them sitting in the bank.

A solution mentioned above, make the bosses actually scale in difficulty and in health/dmg. Make us work for it and make it less of a daily grind for easy cash.

I disagree with your problem statement. You are able to gain a maximum of 22 rares in this way, which requires you to participate in each and every one of these events. That still makes rares much less common than masterwork.

I agree with you that some of the events are over too quickly. I think that’s a bad thing because it both makes it too easy to get the bonus chest and, more importantly to me, it turns previously epic events into “blink and you miss it” snoozefests. During BETA, zergs of L15 players routinely wiped against the Shadow Behemoth; in today’s meta, Queensdale is often in overflow as soon kitten’s window opens and the fight never lasts more than 1-2 minutes.

I’d like to see ANet make the events more challenging through whatever tools they have available (change the mechanics, increase the health/power of “adds,” require more coordination, nerf L80 toons in full exotics more, …). If the Fire Elemental in Metrica took as long to defeat as Jormag’s Claw, people would have to earn their rare rather than just showing up.

Maybe u got something there, I state u can get minimum 22 rares, yes if u farm all of them, but at the same time you have a good chance at finding rares in the boss chest as well.

Example: Killed maw, got 1 rare from body, 2 from boss chest, 1 from guaranteed.
I know its not always like that, they sell for less then 20s each, salvage and get 6-7 ecto if I’m lucky, made decent money that way.

I just feel that with the guaranteed chest you do encourage grinding, I would love to not grind these bosses but the rares are too easy to get to just not do them.
I do agree, if they did increase the difficulty and so on based on the amount of players, that would make you feel as if you earned it.

I know a lot of players may not get so lucky, but how i see it, doing dredge, maw, wurm, and any other easy bosses, u get rewarded for 2 minutes of work.

I do appreciate your input which actually had a good solution in it.

Hey All,

I might get a lot of heat for this, but I believe it should be addressed.
Ever since they added the Guaranteed Chest (per account) for main events, I feel as if that may be overdoing it with the rares. Rares to me are supposed to be rare, hard to come by.
With these “Dragon Event Farming” you are able to gain a minimum of 22 rares due to these chests. If you are extremely lucky, you will also get rares or better from the boss chest.
I understand how they are trying to encourage players to experience all these great events, but the rewards for it seems very unbalanced and plays a large role on the market.
Since the Guaranteed Chest was added prices on rares and ecto itself have decreased dramatically, and in order to fix the market you got to fix the source.

This is my solution on how to balance it out:
Make only the main dragons, Jorm, Shatt, Teq, give you the guaranteed chest + the temple events. These events take time and have large spawn times, hence why you should be rewarded with the rare or better.
Make every other event not give you a guaranteed rare, but instead only get the boss chest and slightly increase its drop rate just a tad.

To me this should fix the market on rares along with ecto prices, and at the same time you feel more rewarded on completing the bigger events and still not feel short handed on doing the smaller ones.

I appreciate any input or opinions you may have on this topic.

Thanks

Crafting Table / Crafting Improvements

in Suggestions

Hey All,

I haven’t come across this in the forums yet, so here it goes.

Some things I’ve noticed when crafting are a few things I believe that need to be improved. For example,

- Production Tab: I’m not sure if this occurs to many Crafts but I can say for Jeweler there’s a small improvement that can be added. They should be able to allow you to drag the size of the window to what ever size suits you, like the inventory window and many others. By doing this it will allow me to see all my quantities of materials and recipes. It is difficult to see if I have enough materials to make something when what it displays is “Exquisite Chrysocola Jewel (Ra…” I would then have to click on it to see if I can craft it, when if I were able to drag the size of the window it would not be a concern.

- Bank / Deposit: Personally I think this would be much appreciated if they added a section to deposit “Destroyer” ingredients such as slivers and fragments. I have a variety of those types required for jeweler but it is slowly starting to consume space in my bank.

- Crafting Tools Stacks: This may be a good idea that many would agree on or it may be fine the way it is. Personally I do a lot of harvesting of materials, and I carry a lot of tools with me, it would be amazing if once you buy the tools 50 sickle, 50 axe, 100 mining pick, when you buy more of the same tool you can stack it. Example: 150 sickle, 100 axe, 300 mining pick, since these items cannot be sold to others on the market I don’t see why the player needs to suffer with a loss of 8 occupied slots to have such number of tools. *Bonus – Same goes for salvaging kits, make it stackable.

- Crafting Tools Exchange: I started using my ranger in WvW and noticed some platinum nodes laying around, so I decided to purchase Darksteel mining pick and start farming. Little did I know, there was a level requirement (my bad for not noticing), so I said it’s all good I’ll just give it to my lvl 80 ele, he can use it. Turns out that the tools are “Soulbound to another character”. I believe they should just be account bound.

That pretty much sums it up what myself and a friend feel need to be improved on.

Please provide input of more improvements I may of overlooked or reasons why you may believe the above suggestions may not work.

Thanks

Here is the story summed up.

My ranger bought some Crafting tools to mine Platinum, but I was not the right level.
So I said no worried I’ll give it to my higher level ele, put it into bank and tried to claim it on my ele.
Turns out that its bound to a character, wouldn’t be a problem if it was just account bound.

Anyone else feels this is kinda dumb and probably should be patched to allow account characters to share tools?

On that note why cant we be able to give tools/salvage kits to friends who might need it?

I agree to both of you and was expecting somewhat those answers.

Would you think a step in the right direction would be to allow the player to purchase and item (buff/boon, kinda like food/potions) that will reveal the current map nodes for 30 min or an hour? or maybe a booster that can be found or bought that applies the same effect?

or do you feel maybe an increase of radius?

Hey All,

After searching forums, I haven’t come across a thread about Gathering Nodes (mine, harvest, chop) being shown on a map.
Out of curiosity how many people agree that Gathering Nodes should be shown on the map (currently the one your in) instead of a radius around your character?

Many will say that it takes away from the exploration of these nodes, but at the same time we all know that people go to sites like guild wars 2 wiki and just search the area anyways for the nodes. So instead of making it more work for people to Alt + Tab and try to memorize the area, why not have it presented to them on the current map?

I just want to know the communities opinion on this, so please feel free to provide a reasonable answer for myself and others, or feel free to discuss the matter.

Have a great day
