Since when programming a FIFO queue became rocket science ?
The fate of my server is decided by people playing at night. I’m playing during peak hours and I have no impact on the result. Even If I’m playing good or bad I have no impact. Everything is decided in advance by people I don’t know, people I will never play with. In fact since we don’t play during the same hours we are total strangers to each other.
There is no “my server”. It’s their server, the night people. We, the peak hours guys, are foreigners on our server.
Why should I invest money in a match that is already won or already lost by someone else ? Fix the game, fix at least the scoring system.
ok, the forum is really bugged…
Actually VS is the server that can cover a large scale of GMT but I seriously doubt that the Canadians one make a huge difference as everybody from other servers says. It’s just people taking time on their sleeping/eating/etc… time to play and give their server an advantage and guess what ? It works.
I was naive thinking that playing your character, learning tactics, buying equipment or communication was the key to victory in WvW, when the only real key to winning is in fact to put all your efforts to play while your enemy is AFK for IRL reasons.

great rant! I totally agree.
Now could you please explain clearly what “DR” stands for so I can understand what you are talking about ?
wasted ? It sounds like you are working this game, not playing it.
Queues exist because WvW servers get full. That’s all there is to it. So how are you going to add more people “every 15 minuets(sic)” to a full server? Let’s face it- WvW is popular, and there isn’t really a better system other than “first come, first serve” to allow everyone to play.
To be honest, I prefer the bugged system , because at least with a “random” queue I’m able to play WvW from time to time. As an adult with a job, and since I cannot queue before 7pm, if it was really a FIFO queue, I would NEVER be able to enter WvW since every student/jobless/whatever would tag before me everyday.
Move to another server ? I asked my guild and they want to wait until panda is released to watch how the population is evolving. Even if all the population was equally distributed among all servers I doubt there would be slots for everyone. There are queue even on the low pop servers.
Do you pay a bodyguard only if you get attacked by a fan ? No. Dolyak missions should give a reward, attacked or not, becaus it’s a (boring) job that someone have to do. Just being present along the Dolyak prevents some attacks from soloers or duos.
You ask why ?
In my case the queue was 4h long.
About WvWvW queue:
What about some kind of overflow server for the WvWvW ? My queue is 4h+ long in the evening. Why not duplicate the eternal battlefield map and make it sort of an overflow server ? The score wouldn’t count, you could join with your guild, you’re just green, red or blue and you don’t represent any server. When there is room for your group on the main server, you have a popup asking you to join.
(My guild already moved from Fort Ranik to viZunah square in hope that we would have shorter queue. Unfortunely many people made the same choice than us and now on a full server my guild just can’t play the WvWvW. I fear that my guild won’t survive another server switch. I’ve been said that the queues on other server are extra long either anyway.)
about WvWvW, please modify the way score works:
There should be a coefficient applied to the score that is related to the population on your side. Winning a match because a side is present during night time makes no sense.
If you are outnumbered, decrease either the rate of point attribution (ex: 10 minutes instead of 5 minutes) or decrease the score value of a captured tower, keep and such.
I’m playing on the Vizunah Square server and when I can login (~19h00 local) I see that our side has already won by a large margin, most of the points being made during the night. Ok, my server won, I should be happy but there is absolutely no challenge for me.
