Haha yeah that mob is a pain, I actually fought it last night and it targeted me, did not want to let me live.. my only choice was to pretty much kite him and do any damage I could while on the move. Its a fun fight haha, just don’t be too worried with him focusing you, some mobs do that .

I had to give you rep because this is exactly how I feel whenever I play my warrior. The only thing I can do without getting owned is equip a bow/gun and fire at people off of a wall. I can’t find a single build that works well for me.

Perhaps try something like I linked? It works well for me and I felt similar about my warrior for a long time.

Your build looks like you couldn’t damage your way out of a wet paper bag, but you definitely will not get owned running that build by anything short of a zerg. Even the Zerg would be annoyed after they finished with you. Im usually not one for tank builds, but I might just give it a try.

I assure you it isn’t just a tank build.. whirling hits between 5 and 8k.. 100b between 7 and 11… Arcing arrow often hits for 6k or so, sometimes more.. one arcing even half healths a glass thief a lot of the time, for the builds survivability damage is rather good.

dunno if id say mace / sword was the best.. it’s ok but comes down to taste.. and obviously your build could help… if ever i was gonna use mace it’d be the offhand only. but i’m a big fan of the greatsword, and picking when to use hundred blades n such,

Thanks, I kind of understand the build now. Any recommendations for a weapon/armor set? If I have to lose GS, I’d prefer dual Axe. I’m not sure what ones to get.
Armor set I guess I need any set with power+precision+critical %

if you look at the second post i made on the thread at the build link? that’s exactly how i run and it’s pretty kitten good. great fun to play, tough.. and the damage output is pretty decent.

Sorry I clearly didn’t look at the tabs.

You selected a soldiers armor set (toughness/vitality/power) As far as I’m aware the only set that matches that configuration is Wvw armor? I can’t find any item on the market for example, that has shoulders with toughness/vitality/power stats.
Would it not be worth getting power toughness, critical % just to make the critical hit chance insane?

I’m not overly keen on massing badges of honor to get all those toughness/vitality/power armor pieces.

Badges is by far the easiest way (for me anyway), then there is soldiers gear from dungeon armour sets, as well as from certain karma vendors in orr, See here http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Armor_sets and scroll down to exotic karma sets and check those temple sets out and you will find a bit of it.

Also knights gear would work if you wanted to go the more damaging option, but then you would come out with a lot less health and you will simply die faster. the reason i go soldiers is i WvW quite a bit and survivability is key. arrow cart / balista fire tends to hurt a bit, this makes it less so. But by all means if you would prefer knights it would work, you can use that build calculator to get rough numbers of effective health / defenses etc etc etc.

Wow….the setup is much improved. I have mix and match soldier armour at the moment but it gives the needed stats. I’ll be able to get wvw soldiers shoulders by the days end to complete the full rune set. In the mean time I can keep picking up those badges to fund the armor over time.
The food and nourishment is fairly expensive – I can’t wait to see this setup with ascended trinkets though!!
Also, by using Twilight, I’d gain stat wise but lose the vital 100+ precision, so using Twilight doesn’t really work with this build? Perhaps I should buy a legendary bow instead.
One crucial part for me though is not using the Bloodlust Axe setup to stack bleeds on thieves, without this a cloaky could be a problem.

The nourish.ent does cost a bit, you could always go for the one bellow if you wanted cheaper, you wouldn’t lose out too much.
Not sure what stats twilight is, the legendaries are just skins though after all, only problem is that when ascended weapons come out and the legendaries stats are boosted I don’t think they will be effecting transmuted legendaries.

And as far as thieves go I quite like retaliation for them, pretty much only use 100b in their shadow refuge to flush em out or even better to kill them. Thieves are a big reason I take the trait for retaliation for 5 seconds when I’m hit by a crit over the 25% endure pain. Then I get retaliation when I pop signet of rage too. Retaliation will hit them for just shy of 400 each time they hit me (this includes auto attacks). This being said retaliation isn’t an iwin buttton against them, it does help though.

I’m new to this and I’ve seen it mentioned a few times. but how do you manage 100% fury uptime as a warrior? Sorry for noob question.

The way i do it is 30% boon duration from traits, and 20% signet cooldown reduction.
(often run with 20% less shout cooldown too)

  • Then i use for great justice (10 secs fury on 20 second CD)
  • signet of rage (39 seconds fury with an extra 7 seconds from runes of lyssa so effectively 46 seconds) on a 48 second cooldown.
  • worst comes to worst and it’s stripped? greatsword F1 does the trick.

I have tried this combo before and it was really good but IIRC lyssa has as 50sec CD therefore and imo using signet mastery is a mistake because could mess the proc of the rune for a full elite cycle.

It does as far as i know have a 50 second internal cooldown, this being said though i am unsure of if it is lag or what but i can hit my signet as soon as it comes off cooldown and gain all the buffs again. if it is just lag and it is possible to miss it then it’s kind of user error, signet mastery brings the cooldown to 48 seconds so it’s just a case of giving it a couple seconds before activation, that’s if you really want to use it back to back.

That’s all good and well, if you are going for a tanky option, and that’s really not something to rely on multiple times in a fight. You say protection is the only boon worth mentioning? And only for 5 seconds? As I said in my earlier post, ALL boons from lyssa last 7 seconds.

Now that’s,

  • protection
  • regeneration
  • might
  • aegis (albeit only one hit its still a block)
  • swiftness
  • stability
  • vigor
  • fury
  • retaliation

And you are saying protection for 7 seconds is the only one worth mentioning?
That retaliation with the retaliation in traits can be the end of a thief.
That regeneration for 7 seconds is health, how is that not good?
Stability for 7 seconds along with the stability from the trait, how is that not good?

All these boons are beneficial, yes some more than others but some are complete tideturners when used correctly. Protection / retaliation / stability / regeneration even that one aegis proc, all play a big part in combat especially 7 seconds worth of each, and I also mentioned earlier in a build like the one I linked you are looking at extra damage for every one of those boons on you.

At work so don’t have time to tweak it for you, but if you take that gear setup and those traits you can pretty much just change the weapons to whatever you like, I’d suggest axe/shield with a longbow if you want some good aoe capability.. it just axe/shield with a rifle if you want single target. That trait and gear setup has a good survivability with a rather high damage (6-7k eviscerates.. possibly higher depending on the oponents gear) mate ran axe and shield with this setup and did extremely well.

Honest discussion though, with Rune of Lyssa, after those godlike 5 seconds, aren’t you really vulnerable?

In what way? 1.9k power with over 50% crit with 100% fury uptime and 65% crit damage is more than enough with 1.9k toughness and 24.5k hp. That’s 40ish% damage reduction.. we just take a good elite and make it an incredible one on top.

Well there are better options for runes, such as if you want more tankyness: earth, more boon duration (water + monk), more dps: ruby orbs. I don’t see the point in going for the rune of lyssa as you either initiate with it (most likely) or you use it as a full cleanse (less likely). But do those 5 seconds really outweight the benefits of the other options you have?

To be honest, yes they do. (Its also 7 seconds as I have 30% boon duration)
Water / monk for boon duration is good, but my 30% serves me perfectly fine, for great justice I can easily have that might up 100% of the time and my signet of rage lasts 39 seconds on a 48 second cooldown (then add the 7 seconds from lyssa and you are looking at 46 seconds of the fury / swiftness) then there’s fury from for great justice and ifssomeone’s real intent on taking my boons away I get fury from the GS f1 if I really must.

And you are right, I could look at a tankier rune but then I will be losing the precision from lyssa, precision that is vital to the build as it only had about 18% standard and about 31% with food..

Then you need to look at the trait empower (2% increased damage for every boon on you) 8 boons (won’t count aegis cos it drops fast) is 16% increased damage for 7 seconds.. that’s a lot of damage.

So all in all the lyssa runes synergize well with the build, I have shake it off, signet of stamina AND signet of rage for condition removal. Then there’s the 16% damage increase for 7 seconds that reduces to 6% increase thereafter until my elite is up again, and as you said that 7 seconds you are incredibly strong and I can get that every 50 seconds (I believe lyssa runes have a 50 second internal CD).. but you are right when you say it depends on when you use it, when you are running runes of lyssa it is not to be used as an opener, plain and simple.. because then you are denying yourself all those buffs plus a serious condition removal for most of a fight.

…i believe that’s a guardian’s buff. so probably some guardian buffed him?

No guardian buffs there, he has his 25 stacks from his weapon, the healing signet, two food buffs and then all the “yellow” boons, these are obtained from him popping his elite skill which is signet of rage, by default it gives swiftness, might and fury for a long duration. This guy has runes of lyssa which give you every boon for 5 seconds (increased by boon duration), that means 9 boons. This guy has 8 because he is missing aegis, likely an auto attack or something proc’d it before the screenshot was taken.

Is what I currently run, could really use almost any weapons but I like these two, good ranged damage and aoe along with utility, then high mobility and damage from the greatsword.
If I plan on using an arrow cart il swap in leg specialist and other than that a few of the other traits can be swapped around, I’m still playing with it a bit myself but I find it highly effective like this.

He is running runes of lyssa, might be a build similar to my warrior.. I run with a mate’s build and it works well, goes like this.
All armour pieces are pvt with lyssa runes
All accesories are Cavaliers with beryl jewels
Both weapons are berserkers, one with sigil of bloodlust and one with power.
Traits are 0/0/30/30/10 mostly interchangeable but “empower” is a big one and “signet mastery” this means you effectively have about 4 seconds downtime on the buffs from your signer of rage given lyssa rune buffs stack with it, and when you use your signet of rage you have 18% increased damage for 7 seconds. You also want to pick up shouts healing and lung capacity for 20% reduction on their cooldown.
You should have about 1.9k toughness 1.9k power and 24.5k up like this.

I run currently with healing surge, for great justice, shake it off, signer of stamina and signer of rage, good condition removal in the signer of stamina / shake it off and runes of lyssa and although the build seems defensive it has a high damage output when lyssa is up and the 100% fury uptime keeps your damage rrather high when its down.

Hope this helps anyways.

I have been fooling around with a build the past couple days, looking at something to use when i get my engi to 80 (i currently have no endgame experience on an engineer). I have been looking at pure condition builds and then looked at how a lot of pistol / shield and toolkit skills benefit from power, so i figured how about somewhat of a hybrid.

I have thrown all this up and would like some advice on the build, stuff i could change or make better. My aim with this build was a reasonably sustainable build (having formula 409 for condition control, and nearly 1700 toughness with a little shy of 19k hp), With a decent amount of condition damage and some power thrown in to help accent those abilities that scale well off power.

I plan on running with Elixir H, Elixir B and Elixir S along with the toolkit in this build (Supply crate elite of course)

Well here’s the build and i welcome and constructive advice people would like to give

As a member of IoJ who transferred to FA i can speak from experience when i say myself (along with fellow guildies) got the warmest welcome we could have asked for when we moved. Many of the IoJ members who came across were helping to bridge a time slot where FA otherwise only just had enough to get by, This time slot is now one of FA’s strongest points, And there is a serious amount of appreciation from people on FA for us deciding to come over.

When us Aussies (or late NA players) come online we are generally handed a map that has a lot for us to work with, solidly upgraded and ready for us to defend and make some serious pushes, We take advantage of this on a nightly basis and thank our NA crew for prepping such a sweet battlefield for us, We would just REALLY like to be able to hand over the work we put in to the next time zone.

At current NA hands us maps to work with, we do what we can with them and then at the end of our time we have a few hour hole where servers that have SEA presence capitalize, we would much rather hand a prepared map to SEA presence so they can bridge this gap between oceanic and NA times. This would basically save us from being washed during these few hours and give the NA crew something to work with, Rather than spending half of their time trying to recoup our losses.

I don’t write this to try ’’stomp’’ our T3 opponents more, I write this to try and help us get some coverage in a spot we need it to really be a competitive T2 server, Any guild that decides to come across, know this from someone with experience, FA will be extremely thankful towards any guilds who move across to help fill this hole, as you have seen there are many people on this thread willing to ’’help’’ with transfers for any serious WvW guild that can fill our coverage gap.

Thanks for spending the time reading this (if you in fact did). If you have any questions about this matter feel free to message me in-game and i will see about answering you / getting the answers you seek.

The calcuation is simple – if you take condition dmg at 2600 (which one of the mesmers in my guild has without the sigil of corruption or signet but it does include food + crystal) …

could you tell us how he reaches that condition damage? or is that with a ~15 stack of might?

I haven’t asked him, but playing around a little i can hit +1100 condition dmg (the base changes based on the condition being applied) with the following build, plus 5% condition taken from toughness, plus tuning crystals and rare veggie pizza (70 dmg and 40% duration), carrion/tribal staff which is another +179 and rabid armor should get us to that mark or at least very close to it.
http://www.guildhead.com/skill-calc#mcmc9wGG0x9k8070V7kGW70V7ow170m

when i go on tonight I’ll ask him if he’s on what his build is

To be honest I’d say your guildy is either lying to you or counting almost full might stacks. I run with FULL rabbid gear and runes of the undead, with chrysacola jewels I’m specced 20/0/0/20/30 and with 25 stacks of corruption, tuning crystals and veggie pizzas I peak just over 2k condition damage.. even if I went 25 in to chaos I would gain less than 100 more condition damage, and in doing that I would lose a lot of importaint traits.

Also the reason I said about the heal is prayer to dwayna is a great heal as apposed to ether feast (without illusions), mirror is good for centaur uptime but to be honest in my illusions build where I ran with centaurs is use ether feast, and I had boon duration from traits enough to have 13-14 second swiftness on a 20 second cooldown.. honestly I would say look at running rabbid gear with runes of the undead for a confusion build.. if you really want to gain some more health at the cost of your toughness drop some carrion in there.

Without ANY points for vigor procs or increased vigor uptime you are capable of getting ample illusions up to shatter by the time a shatter cooldown is up, so why go to such lengths to increase your clone production when you don’t need to? run with Null field / Feedback and Mirror images and theres your group support in null field and feedback, and extra clone production from mirror images alongside the illusions you can produce via weapons.

You can still run a ‘’shatter confusion’’ style build without actually having to go and build for vigor and dodge illusions. I’d suggest you go and watch some of Kylia’s video’s on the glamour build and you will see him rolling shatters as well as glamours.

Either go glamours, or go shatters with your sceptre staff.

Why not do both? a 20/0/0/20/30 build utilizes glamours to the best of their potential by making them blind and in turn cause confusion in multiple ways, you are also reducing their cooldown and increasing their uptime.

Along with this you have 30 in illusions which is automatically making you able to shatter for confusions, yeah you won’t be popping clones out every few seconds when you dodge, but you will still be able to get ample clones / phantasms out in time for mind wrack and cry of frustration shatters.

The confusing enchantments vs Dazzling glamours and Blinding befundlement thing is why I’d suggest just grabbing them all, Both Dazzling and Blinding synergize well with each other, not to mention the confusion from any other sources of blind. And a really cool thing about Confusing enchantments is it isn’t limited by a number of people it can hit, so you drop a null field + feedback into the middle of a zerg and watch the numbers as people freak out and you proceed to pull 5 of them back through it with temp curtain :P

I’d also suggest using Ether feast as a heal, and try use it when you have a couple illusions out, I would say use prayer to dwayna because it is a higher base heal without the need for illusions but you seem to have ticked asuran there?

As for your elite mass invis is great, but one large thing confusion mesmers lack is damage outside of confusion so i would suggest looking in to the attack golem (a guildy ran with this on his asuran confusion mesmer and LOVES it). Again though i would say if you were human running with hounds of balthazar in a confusion build is a MUST.

This all on top of the usual support oriented feel of both Null field and Feedback, condition removal and projectile reflection makes it a seriously potent mix for both group or solo play.

As for the cry of frustration vs mind wrack, again, use them both. Cry of frustration being on a longer cooldown allows you to mind wrack between, or you could run mind wrack for your opening confusion stacks and then once they are dropped off use frustration to maximize your downtime confusion, along with the scepter #3.

Shattering either way is how you do it anyways :p, but essentially you need to look at what you can get out of it. Glamours causing blinds, and blinds causind confusion works well cos then each glamour placement is reducing damage taken by you and allies. So glamours give a stack on placement which they otherwise wouldn’t. Then there is the addition of your scepter number two applying blind and confusion in a line when you double tap it.

If you were to choose torch as an offhand over focus for some reason your prestige blind will also confuse (I personally prefer focus though, warden inside glamours for confusion whirl finisher and temporal curtain pull for forced glam field entrances is just boss)

Either way its personal choice but for IP is essentially only one more stack of confusion as apposed to the other options opened up.

Edit: Builds Kylia posts are likely to be WvW specific, i’ve personally found the glamour confusion build to be near pointless to use in PvE, If you want a PvE confusion build i would suggest something much more along the lines of an IP shatter confusion build with givers weapons for extra condition duration.

But i remember the day i logged on when we were FIRST up against DB, people in chat were freaking out over DB’s ability to destroy rams without siege.. safe to say that day a lot of people on FA begun looking in to them and using them, but if there was use of golems on FA before we came up against DB it was EXTREMELY isolated.

It is rather ridiculous that there are entire zergs or groups of people spamming these spikefruit though, it is the absolute lowest of the low. Granted this stuff should NEVER make it in to WvW, but people should have some sort of decency and not use them.

I can assure you, [EA] did not throw the first golem. And I agree – the PvE consumables that are intended for PvE should NOT be usable in WvW, which is why I don’t, and will not use them.

I’ve got no idea who did throw the first golem, it really has no baring on what is happening right now though. and i am the same, i mean i fooled with a few golems to see what the fuss was about but i think i threw a MAX of maybe 5 or 10 at rams and found out i’m better off just drilling the guys using the rams. but i flat out refuse to use spikefruit and gears, If i’m gonna vs people i’d rather do it in the spirit of the game and have a fair fight, or as far as can be possible given some of the obvious imbalance in-game.

probably, EA was also the guild spamming the golems too.. funny how when that got taken out of the WvW they had a harder time defending anything.

We learned about golem-in-a-box because FA was hitting us with them and we became curious. Again, for the record, I never personally used them.

Having a harder time defending anything? That statement is false.

in the DB BL, behind the greenvale supply they found a spot where they could all run to and be invincible.

It’s not an exploit. It’s just some people don’t know about the range of the spawn protection buff called “Determined,” which gives player immunities to all kind of damages to prevent the spawn camping.
So, “Determined” buff is part of the game, not exploit.

Players these days need to know the maximum range or distance where they can have the “Determined” buff to prevent them from calling it exploit.

This is infact an exploit, the determined buff itself is not and legitimate use of it is not.. but when you drop off the hills at the south supply camps in a borderland you are intended to commit, not to have a get out of jail free card.. the determined buff in these areas only occurs when the player runs to a specific spot on the hill and then gets close enough to it to be slightly up the incline and in the invulnerable area. A player who knowingly runs to this to avoid dying is exploiting the mechanic (albeit shouldn’t be there in the first place)

It’s the same as the walljumping people were doing over gates to cap keeps and towers, just because the ability is there to do it, it doesn’t mean it is not an exploit.

Seems people have a lack of respect :s get jumped by some guy in the jump puzzle, down him and let him live (didn’t even kick him off his ledge) then continue on.. I slip on a jump and as I’m running back to start the area again the first thing this guy does is jumps straight at attacking me (this time he has another player with him) downs and finishes me.

I know its PvP in a PvP zone and I expect it.. there should just be some level of mutual respect, I mean I let him live (evidentally was a mistake) you’d think someone with an ounce of respect would leave you be, dog move but meh.

And to the person earlier saying AVTR are spawn campers first look at where it is, that camp is an objective of the game, one which you guys were spawn rushing to prevent our cap.. us advancing on the portal was to secure our cap of the camp and no more, we leftafter it had flipped and we finished the remaining opposition.
How do I know this? I was there, and to be honest I’d appreciate you not spreading such kitten rumors about guilds because you died from a legitimate cap.

Meh, whatever happens I’m staying on CD until I quit playing. On a side note, seems like CD will be the first server to have the honor of suffering from two rounds of WvW guilds leaving.

I admire you staying on CD no matter what (if that actually does happen) and good luck with everything there!

But CD is not the first server to have two rounds of WvW guilds leaving, in fact part of the reason IoJ has been in such a tailspin is because it has suffered 3 bouts of guilds leaving (the 3rd being on the weekend when most of the remaining WvW guilds left).

Just after IoJ dropped from their T1 a few of IoJ’s largest guilds left… then near the End of the weeks and weeks in T2, a few more guilds left (mostly one insanely large guild). And then of course there was the recent merge of the remaining community with FA.

Agreed 100% with everything Ninjambo said, And as one of the IoJ crew that recently transferred to FA I can say they do not make us feel foreign in any way, In fact they have given us the warmest welcome we could have asked for. No sooner than we were on the server we were working with other long standing guilds there and having an absolute blast.

Hey FA, you guys need to talk to Obey, FDIC, and Pro about killing people just doing the JP. I get past the dark room and the arena thanks to DB being kind enough to leave me alone (love you DB) so I can get through, only to get killed by those guilds even after doing the standard /bow command (Note to those guilds, this means the player isn’t going to attack).

The /bow command is often used as acceptance or challenge for a duel too, it is also used to show respect to someone you just had a duel with.

But the bottom line is it is a PvP area, and PvP will happen no matter what and anybody wanting to do ANY WvW jump puzzle really needs to accept that.
Personally if I’m going through a jump puzzle being a mesmer I will generally temporal curtain pull an enemy off where they are jumping and then go on my way, their reaction to me doing this gauges if I kill them or leave them.. if they are aggressive over it and attack me its time to kill, if they just go back to start again or watch me I leave them. Yeah this sounds mean but I find it works well to keep a balance of PvP and civil acts in a jump puzzle.

And a party? I’m down for that name the time and place!

^
should be night before reset and we could invite some of our opponents aswell and have a couple of duels.

We had some epic duel events with PINK before and it was super fun

Sounds like a plan, we got the musicc (vandarra to play the same track for 5 hours) we just needs decide where.. we should totally have a garrison open night, no walls, no doors, just everyone inside having duels to downed state and guild banquets and stuff.

yup yup. I had a blast running around with AVTR, Ua and DPS last night…Golemrush was crazy! PRO always has fun when playing and since we got the transfers the morale of FA has gone up so much.We used to have people on our own server that tried to sabotage FA with siege cap and using all supplies up, because they wanted to go down a tier

Haha running in collaboration with PRO has been a pleasure since the move, and that golem rush was nuts.. we have had similar when we were on IoJ but it was mainly an individual who would do it for exploiting free transfers.

PS. I wonder if uA have gotten sunny hill yet?

Last week – CD wins for weeks then dominated FA and FA cried foul.

Please point out that we were calling foul/crying/whining about CD taking over FA to the point of saying CD was beating us while we’re down.

Actually there have been posts from cd where they were complimenting us on how determined we were and how little we cry about being last all the time. TC dominated FA way more and had an incredible high presence on all maps almost 24hours. There we cried. Ok, so now we got all these amazing guilds, that are a lot of fun to work with and I am really happy to see ho our community has grown and works hand in hand. Before we had all the guilds pretty much doing whatever they felt like and now we communicate with everyone.

So, for all those that are hoping for the guilds to all jump ship before paid transfers:
Sorry, we got beer, cookies and hot girls :-)

Well said, couldn’t have said it much better myself.. and on the guilds jumping ship? Not going to happen, I am 99.99% sure the IoJ community imports love where we have ended up, we love the community and most of all we love collaborating with the guilds of FA.

PS. The beer, cookies and hot chicks is an awesome bonus!

Karma, it’s called karma.

For what?

Also, it wasn’t DB who wiped them as said above. It was a huge FA zerg with 5 omega golems. I was on the wall looking down at them, trying to get a hit or 2 in before the wall collapsed at my feet.

Not so much karma, what kylia is talking about was before the golem rush DB pretty much stomped CD… then one of the members on FA decided it would be fun to drop 10 omegas (not 5) and 10 normal golems.. pretty much stormed through and had plans of hitting ALL of EB not just Cd. but as we got half way through DB’s area our borderland came under attack and we had to fall back to defend. pretty simple really.

QFT

If someone doesn’t want to stay on a sinking server, well w/e floats your boat.

Just don’t be double talking where I can see it or I’m going to call you out on it. Nothing personal, no ill will… just simple calling things as I see them. (granted I’m not perfect and will occasionally see things incorrectly. Though I highly doubt this is one of those times)

P.S. My condolences to you, Kylia for losing the vote. That always sucks but it’s nice to see leaders being good for the people instead of dictating.

As a member of kylia’s guild is say he is a great leader as far as all that is concerned, he gave those of us in the guild ample opportunity for input in to where we go or even if we go.

But calling things as you see them must be used rather loosely in your terms.. because we have blatantly been called bandwagoners yes? That would imply that we were following a bandwagon ie. All moving to a server that has had a recent influx.. if we went to say maguuma or kaineng (given their mass influx lately) I’d agree, we would be bandwagoners.. instead we chose to move as a community to one place.. re-locating and bandwagoning are two different things.

Yes we moved from a sunken ship but it was largely for quality of play for the dedicated WvW players. The players who did their best to get the massive IoJ pve community in to WvW, though that last ditch attempt just didn’t work.
So yes we decided to move, but to a community that would welcome our community as part of their own and one which we could all have fun on, rather than going somewhere with hour long queues.. or without overcrowding a low server and have weeks and weeks of boring play against servers that just don’t stand a chance.

Much of the FA wvw pop now is from IoJ like myself. We moved to FA in order to kill CD.

Talk about bitter ^

Sadly there are some (alright a fair few) who believe this is why we moved, even among those who moved. But I can assure you this is not the reason we chose to move to FA (albeit killing CD is fun, as is killing DB and those who stayed back on IOJ the day after the move) killing the enemy is all the same, the main thing that dictates killing or leaving is tactics but I won’t go in to that.

There was a huge amount of discussion before the move both internally and publicly over the server, and we basically decided that we would move (for the most part) as a community. This meant choosing a home and MANY servers were considered, some in higher brackets and some in lower. There was no discrimination as to what servers were discussed as possabilities.

I won’t go into why we did NOT choose certain servers as I am not writting this to assist arguments or fuel anything negative, merely to let people know a little behind the move. A fair few things came into consideration with what server to pick including community, playstyle and past record.

We saw FA as a great server (for us to move to) because.

1) we could cover times they were otherwise not very strong. ,

2) we also saw them as a very stable server in their rankings (and we all know server stability is a good thing).

3) FA also complimented many of our guilds styles as many of our guilds work in not too different ways.

4) FA also has a very strong fighting spirit and have accepted us with welcoming arms (this was established somewhat before the move as we were in talks with some of FA’s quite respected players by talking to them about how well they thought we would be recieved.) And no this does not mean we were talking to them a long way before the move to gang up on cd, it infact only happened the day before the move.

I hope this sheds a little light for some people. Although it may just be ignored but there it is, some reasoning as to why we moved where we did. (Apologies for it not being too well written, I’m on a phone that likes to screw me around with editing stuff I’ve typed)

Maybe FA and IOJ should talk alliance now?

We shall have peace… We shall have peace, when you answer for the burning of Overlook, and the children that lie dead there! We shall have peace, when the lives of the soldiers whose bodies were hewn even as they died against the gates of the Garrison, are avenged! When you hang from a gibbit for the sport of your own crows…! We shall have peace.

Avenged for what? we totally didn’t kill any of your npc’s, we went to your borderland and there was zero, and i mean ZERO resistance… so we offered your npc’s a couple of silver to fight for us and we looked after them. We gave the adults jobs, and put the children in homes with food and a bed.

Sadly this did not last. we lost more and more npc lives as we fought to protect them and their home of garrison, but you Fort Aspenwood ruthlessly beat your heads against our garison (in your borderland) until you had drained every last life you initially were trying to protect.

R.I.P to those brave souls on FA borderland who looked to greener (pun intended) pastures.

I’d have to say the best is a mesmer.. ok so I’m a bit biased, but I play a mesmer as a commander and people underestimate what we are capable of, we can take / deal with fair amounts of damage.. while putting out good damage ourselves.. not to mention a LOT of our utilities are incredibly powerful in group situations so we can support our allies. A lot of us nmesmers play a role that means we get right in to the thick of it too, simply because of how tough my build is I often find myself frontlining (sometimes even into the enemies backline) with my group behind me following close.

Btw AVTR, ty for all the awesome fights, too bad we aren’t on the same sever, our guilds would have a blast together!:-)

As a member of AVTR I’d have to say some of our funnest, most memorable, and sometimes most triumphant fights have been against PRO, you guys have been a formidable enemy especially in your own borderland, talk about kicking the hornets nest :p hope to see much more of you guys on the field though we generally run with much lower numbers than you guys its often great fun when we have to face off. And lol we would have a blast, alas we remain enemies :p
