Just a friendly advice since i kinda have the same issue. Started in silver 2, where players legit thinks afking on a capped node is a good strat, or seeing necros rushing head first in the mid fight against 2 full trap (yes, FULL trap) dh and a rev, somehow expecting to not blow up in half a second.
If you’re around silver or gold, players should know how to deal damage as long as you target the right enemy, but they have not clue about surviving/kiting/peeling. Damage role is not a good carry at that level, as it doesn’t matter if you destroy 1v1 or 2v1 the enemy team, or if you can get very quick kills in teamfights because your teamates simply die to the cleave.
I find ele to be an insane carry, as long as you get involved in every teamfights, because you’ll just win every single teamfights you’re part of.On a side note, it always makes me laugh when i see “most healing done” when i play rev.
Yeah, i already thought about to play a more supporting role. I think its time to create a new charakter and try that out. Your side note is also quite true, thats something that just does not look right with rev ^^
This picture tells me a couple things. Your team put out less damage and healing than the other team.
Judging by the offensive and defensive percentages, the other team took mid node and your team was never able to get it back. And the enemy did not really go for 3 points as your team does not have a high defense percentage. What is surprising thought is that your team had 87% of the deaths in the game. I suspect people were just trickling into mid and getting rolled.
you are absolutly right xD the point is that this happens way to often
Its kind of sad to get that comment like “if you would be better you would not have such problems” first. But i understand what you want to say.
Let me try to explain my problem. Im matched way to often with “afkers, bad comps or even random bad players”, so that progress is way to slow. Of course i could play 10 hours a day for a week, just to reach the point where im able to play matches that are not lost before they start and where they get interesting. I dont have anything against loosing good games. But right now it feels like way to much out of control and luck depending.
Btw i already reached legend full soloq before. So i would say that im at least not inexperienced.
According to my Experience rev still feels kind of viable. But only in teamfights where he can fully display his potential with the boonshares. 1v1´s are noticeable harder and i miss the dmg from precision strike very much. Surge of the Mists is still usefull but there is simply to less dmg on staff now.
I think i just got very unlucky this season because its feeling like im already in the low tier hell where is no escape.
50/50 over about 20 matches is kind of frustrating. Really.
…and yeah, i played rev…
Hm, still not seeing the problem. If it is true that good players are teamed up with other good players vs random (maybe lower) skilled players, the lower divisions will soon balance themselves because the more skilled players move forward to higher divisions. There the same game will repeat and the better ones will again faster move forward. So if you have problems with winning matches, you can just wait a few days and the problem should solve itself.
is there a way i can prove i played all of them soloq? I also opened a thread where i wrote about a problem with the matchmaking yesterday before i understood that its just because there where not that much player in emerald that moment. https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/pvp/Matchmaking-VS-full-premade/first#post6002656
And i “think” im just average because i would never win a game against rly high skilled players. Right now im about 1600 played games (w/l 50/50) over about two and a half years.
edit: btw you honor me with your thoughts! ;D

Hey, i just think i should share my experience because there is so much salt in the forum right now.
I didnt played last season because i hated how the matchmaking worked then.
Im an average skilled player who mostly go solo into ranked and its the first time im focusing on the fortress map (matchmaking should be the same).
Last round i reached Sapphire and it felt kind of easy. Of corse there where also some hard matches… Most time i also had the winstreak bonus, so it also did not take that much time for me
The only problem in the matchmaking is see is some unbalance in the higher tiers because there are not that mutch players right now. Btw the quere time is about 1-3 minutes.
So, what else? I rly dont think the matchmaking is that bad. And its for sure way better then the last season. Share your thoughts about it, if you also have good experience or you think im just kind of lucky!
(Ah and yes, i played only necro. But where is the problem with that when they are also in the enemy team.)
Its not about that. Its about how anet is “balance” matchmaking. I mean, it really dont make a big difference if you have 5 solo players in your team or two of them are in a group if you have to fight a 5 man premade team. If this will happen to much, you will have again a extremely hard time in higher divisions as solo player.
“There is an additional matchmaking change that we’ll be making which will affect a specific type of match-up:
Five-person premade groups will never be matched up against a group made up of five solo players.
Only 1% of all Ranked matches played in season one were a full five-person premade group vs. a group of five solo players, and even then, the win rate for those five solo player teams in those cases was consistently at or above 50% throughout the entire season"
Regarding to my last match, the statement from anet is right, but still kind of a joke…

a few minutes ago the same problem. got 3 disconnects on tequatl (my friend in ts too!). Finally the game crashed complete (my friends game crashed at the exact same moment…). Looking to the offical website shows, they have big problems at the moment. The website is blown up!
