Use this link to cross check your map, you should find the missing area. One that is often missed in Maguuma is Aurora Remains in Brisban.

According to the wiki, the best one is a level 80 green sold for karma in the Cursed Shore. I might not be aware of a better one though…

For Kohler (not sure the spelling) stability helps a lot so having a Guardian helps for that, he can’t pull you with that on, I also think it has a limited range and can be dodged(?), not sure on that though. Most people skip him because he can be annoying to fight.

It can and should be dodged. The animation for that move is 3 seconds long. Also, stability, projectile reflection, hiding behind a pillar and outranging it works. This boss is here for that particular reason, teaching you how to avoid the boss’ special attack. Skipping him will only carry that problem onto the next encounter with a huge attack that should be avoided.

Were you drunk at the time you wrote this?

And if you are serious, by all means study computer programming. They certainly don’t know how to make a game.

Question about Fractal dailies.

Sacrai.6280

It is not THAT confusing.

You get a daily only if your personal level (Rlvl) is high enough to at least belong to the range you’re doing. If your personal level is 7, you’ll get only one daily a day, no matter which level you complete.

As soon as you’ll be 11, you’ll be able to have the daily 11-20 and the daily 1-10.

Spanish and French localizations any good?

in Players Helping Players

Posted by: Sacrai.6280

As for the french version, it is perfectly acceptable, aside from some very rare localization bugs. Keep in mind that most language in a fantasy game may be somewhat old fashioned but still it will help you learn the basics of a language. Discovering the (right)Ctrl key taught me a few words as well, so I guess I would recommend trying.

Introducing partner to GW?

I’d say you will need to pay attention to a few things if she never played that kind of games:

- Help her quickly find a setup that she feels confortable with. Moving with the keyboard and camera on the mouse can be a tough one to handle for someone who never played FPS or MMORPGs. My girlfriend clicks on skills instead of using them on the keyboard, this has been a great improvement for her for example.

- Do NOT show her jumping puzzles. She won’t like it especially if you do great and not her. Some vistas might be to avoid in the early hours as well.

- Show her crafting (my preference goes to cooking, as I find it particularly interesting), she should like the hunt for materials.

- Start a character with her and select the same story at creation so you can go through the story together. it is much more enjoyable.

- My girlfriend started with a ranger and that seems like the best first character to make when new to the game. The pet does a lot of tanking for you, you can hunt for additional pets and the ranged attacks are quite easy to use.

Have fun playing together, hope for you she will like it, it’s so much better if she plays too.

In the brand new dungeon, you can get inscriptions allowing you to craft weapons and armors with those stats if you are lucky.

I’m getting a new mouse and will probably follow the suggestion to keybind dodge to one of the buttons.

While you are thinking about a new mapping, consider also mapping the “back” (left side button) to shift. This changed my gameplay completely. Then I mapped out of reach keys like F1, F2, and others to shift + 1, … As a result, I use the space bar to dodge and shift+spacebar to jump.

What do you think about necro in dungeon?

in Fractals, Dungeons & Raids

Sacrai.6280

staff is bad dps right? and dagger can’t cleave right? So honestly that’s the only thing I hate about power necro.

i always carry axe too up to situations. But u know dagger is great dps weapon for me
when stacking at boss and warhorn use for support and siphon life from loust swarm. Staff, it’s useful for kill trash mob combo with well. don’t forget death shroud too

I’m not an expert at the game. But power necro “do have less consistent” aoe than the other class right? Other class can just auto attack and do more aoe damage than necro.

That’s really the only thing I dislike about necro. That and condition can’t go over 25 stack, and condition do no damage against structure.

“Other class can just auto attack and do more aoe damge than necro”
Are you sure? Did you used to stand on well of suffering for 6 seconds when power necro use it? Just try it u will know what i mean.

but about conditions i agree with u. it’s suck on PVE. i tried T-T

I used to main a power necro in full zerker. Well of suffering ticks between 2k and 4k depending on how you’re traited. Thats about the average damage of a DPS warrior axe auto-attack. The sixth blow of the auto-attack chain even doubles this, so yes, you are providing an under average DPS, while bringing no utility to the party AND covering the floor with a sub-optimal combo field.

I feel sorry for you because I lived everything you are experiencing, from not wanting to go zerker to trying to prove necros can get the job done. In the end, if we are speaking optimization and speed runs, necros don’t belong in a group. If you want to talk about this further, my MP’s open.

Combo skills and Group Play-Question

in Players Helping Players

Posted by: Sacrai.6280

Sacrai.6280

Remember, combo fields operate on a chance to trigger, so they are not always a 100% sure thing.

Where does that information come from?

I know for sure that some skills do not always trigger combos, in which case this is written in the skill tooltip (staff 1 of the necro has 20% chance, if I recall correctly). But when it is only mentioned “Combo finisher”, I trust there is 100% chance for the combo to trigger.

Grounded Achievement = Bad design

in Twilight Assault

Posted by: Sacrai.6280

Sacrai.6280

It’s not bad design when it can be done by everyone without the use of portals and invulnerability skills. Just learn the patterns and yo can do it without getting hit by the electricity. It’s an achievement that takes a little thought and critical thinking which is why so many people struggle.

It is badly designed if it encourages players to get it by not playing. Of course it can be achieved through clever hopping and manual dexterity, but it is a lot easier to achieve by sitting it out. That is a definite design flaw.

Whaaaaaaat? Since when being a kitten is the fault of someone else? I am so tired of the gaming community…

Since similar achievements are known to be bugged (whether or not they’re awarded is pretty inconsistent, even when you think you know exactly what to do), yes, I think part of the blame IS upon the game. (See also: “The Floor Is Lava. Don’t Step In It”, “Fancy Footwork”)

This achievement is not known to be bugged.

And just the very same moment, someone posts this about the other achievement in the Aetherpath that encourages players to stay behind…

A track record is a track record…

No need to continue this discussion, I won’t change the gaming community’s mentality on this. I just hope I never run into any of the selfish people like the OP, caring about their achievements over challenge and fun.

On the other side, I fully agree with you that bugged achievements are the responsibility of the game and are frustrating for players who can’t get them. I also half agree that an achievement that you can get by doing nothing is bad design. That’s why Fancy footwork should and is supposedly awarded only if you carry a wisp.
