Spite is so useless, power won’t gain you anything and the +30% cond duration is much better spend elsewhere.
I don’t mean to pile on here but it needs to be said especially for necros looking for stat advice:
Of all the individual stats in all the necro trait lines 30% condition duration is by far the best for a condition necro. It’s not only the largest dps increase in most cases, it also increases your survivability by extending the duration of debuffs like weakness and chill.
The most common dig against condi duration is that, with the prevalence of cleanses in PvP it’s mostly wasted. While that’s true to a point it’s important to remember that the longer your conditions stick, the more they will cover other conditions or require a cleanse themselves.
No stat does as much work as condition duration.
The people at Anet really don’t like corruptions and really do love wells.
There’s two traits related to spectral skills, two traits for signets (merged so you get two for the price of one), four traits for wells, and nine(!) for minions. There’s one trait for corruptions and it’s just a generic cooldown reduction. Oh and by the way it’s now on the same tier as terror.
The patch saw major changes (buffs) for everything except corruptions. The lack of attention there is baffling. I guess you could say corruptions were ‘fine’ as they were but then why were wells buffed across the board? Wells were used at high levels in every aspect of necro gameplay. The best PvE dps builds used wells, tPvP necros used wells, and the best WvW necros used wells. Clearly, wells weren’t strong enough. They even gave wells a stun breaker to make sure you can fill all three utility slots with them. Now there’s only one subset of necro utilites that doesn’t have a stun breaker and it’s no surprise which one was left out in the cold.
The message is clear:
Stop.
Using.
Corruptions.
Full zerker was the best PvE build even before the patch.
Also:
- All elite player transforms (racial and profession) now have a 1-second cooldown on leaving them. This was done to prevent unintentionally leaving through double-clicking.
So glad! Too often I would spaz-click F1 and just flash in/out of DS unintentionally.
You can still jump in and out instantly (thank god).
I disagree. I think Engineers have a higher condition output, especially since they also have confusion in the mix. Combined with the crazy might stacking they can achieve, I believe Engineers do have better condition pressure than us for small skirmishes.
I agree that Engineers have less cripple/chill/blindness than us, but they do have lots of invulnerability/blocks/stealth.
The trait would be perfectly fine if it wasn’t a GM master on the same slot as close to death, that’s what I think is an issue.
On the other hand, engineers don’t have terror and they wont have torment. We’ll just have to see how strong DS5 is.

Did Anet not specifically state that every trait line would be seeing between one and five changes? I have to dig for the quote.
Yes, anet did say all trait lines would see changes. When I said that there are changes in these notes that were not in the leaked notes I meant there were new items. For example:
Adept Trait “Terror” has been moved up to Master Trait.
There was no mention of this in the leak. So either gw2hub invented new items or they got them from another source. It’s not a simple reformat/edit of the leak.

Look closer? There are changes here that were not in the leaked notes.
Not happy about the terror change, don’t like any of the other adept curses traits. Even for not going for burning, now gonna lose Master of Corruption.
Gods, you’re right. I didn’t think it was possible but I actually hate the necro trait lines even more now.
These are just trait changes. There could be a change to the base size of marks (just don’t get your hopes up).
Moving terror up a tier ensures that not every necro goes 30 spite, I guess. Even as a full rabid necro 30/10/x/x/x was probably the best option. 30/20/x/x/x really narrows your choices.
Its a pretty risky change, but I’ll do what I can to get it out asap.

B) Several of the format items are different, and the name was off from their official announcement.
This actually makes me believe them a little bit. If someone is leaking an in-house change log it’s not going to be perfect. Some items might be outdated or changed. If someone was to make a fake list after reading the announcement wouldn’t they use the name in the announcement?
Anyway, some of these do seem too good to be true and the new DS5 sounds like garbage. I hope they are indeed fake.
Ok, i have kind of changed my mind here… Didnt they say this new skill would have to work for every build?
How can this possible work for a power build? Just another patch for the boring, dull condition build.. Sigh
Well the skill applies the new condition but we don’t know what else it does.
If condition builds are boring and dull then isn’t that a good reason to give them something to get excited about?
Beside all that, it’s probable that this condition doesn’t require a lot of condition damage to be good (see burning). Which means those zerker/valkyrie thieves might get similar mileage out of it as my full rabid necro.
I hope Torment scales heavily with condition damage.
Just guested on Sea of Sorrows and the dead drops are there in Dissea Plateau.
Not working on Jade Quarry, Sorrow’s Furnace, or Ferguson’s Crossing.
Will try SoS when I can guest somewhere else.

I was looking straight at a dead drop just before the restart ~20 minutes ago. When I logged back in it was gone. I’ve since checked all 12 dead drop locations and there’s nothing there. Stuck at 4/6 on Jade Quarry. I will try guesting on another server.
EDIT: Guesting on another server seems to have worked. First two locations checked had the dead drop.
EDIT 2: All six in wayfarer appeared after guesting but the Dissea Plateau ones are still missing.
