I see you subscribe to the “if I can’t see it, it doesn’t exist” line of thinking. Let me know how your journey to remove all multiplayer games from existence goes.
If they were going to make ascended the new required standard, it would only need alongside making ascended as easy to acquire as exotic is now. Right now you can do the dailies for a week or two and kit out the average character in full exotic – that’s a grand total of maybe 4 hours. A full set of ascended is more like 2 weeks of 4 hours per day, if you’re being really efficient about it. For the average player, it’s much longer. Hell, I’ve been playing for years and I have one ring, an amulet, one accessory, and my specialization weapon, though that’s mostly due to indifference.
Your problem, it seems, is that you spent way too much time exploiting the mm runs and now that it’s fixed you don’t get the same thrill. This is not a problem with the game, but a problem with your mindset. Might I recommend taking some time doing something that doesn’t involve gathering loot as the primary goal? Level an alt, do the first tier of a legendary journey, get in on a raid training run.
The very first response is all you need. The fact that you’re arguing against it “because you’re not using third party programs” seems to suggest that you already afk farm and are just looking for someone to justify it for you.
As an example: Anet has provided players with a chat box, yet they will still ban for abusive language. Third party programs are not the determining factor.
actually i dont afk farm but it does like a profitable thing if its allowed
your argument is completely kittened,it clearly says in the tos that abusive language will be punsihed
nothing in the tos about “dont leave your minionmancer afk with autoattack on num 4 where mobs spawn”
And do you know what is in the TOS? The statement that they can remove your account at any time for reasons they don’t have to provide. Do you know why? So people like you don’t get all kitteny when they get banned for doing things that were in fact pretty clearly forbidden but weren’t technically explicitly forbidden.
Right now you can have the reward, or you can have the reward and the challenge. Everyone wins. What you are asking to have is that nobody gets the reward unless they do the challenge. That’s called elitism.
The incentive to do the challenge more more than once is provided by wanting additional challenge. If that’s not enough for you, then challenge was never really what you were looking for.
Bloodstone fen can get you a quick run of magic if you do the diving spot, plus you can grab some flax on the way up
In fact the pass doesn’t actually let you cross the wall as such. You can’t get the final chest without the key, which also is the normal way of getting into the puzzle. What the pass does is let you get the mediocre first chest without having to do the heart.
Removing auto cast would mean having to press 1 every single time you wanted to make a normal attack. It’s already bad enough that the game emphasizes movement in battle while using up to 9 other skills(depending on your playstyle), having to manually perform normal attacks would drive away most of the playerbase.
Limiting auto attack to only being used on the 1 skill would solve none of the afk farm issues, so while I have no current specific objections to it there is also no reason to consider it.
the necros are at it in Malchor’s Leap near Doric’s Waypoint they really need to remove auto cast from the game
How about no, let’s not completely neuter the combat system to fix something with multitudes of other potential solutions.
The glider does not auto deploy.

Got that? You may be experiencing keyboard issues. Try using a different one, or ideally a different computer. Otherwise, you’ll just have to admit to yourself that you’re holding spacebar too long.
It seems to me that the only quantifiable way to say a farming spot is better or worse is to look at the rate you can gain the item in question per unit of time put in, and modify your results based on what else was obtained in the process. I’ve seen it quoted that the centaur area fails in this respect when compared to farming kills in any of the maps that drop magic warped leather – if such is true, then this is clearly a failed farm.
It seems to be extremely variable on what it does. I’ve not had what you describe, but I have quite often been told that I won’t receive rewards due to inactivity… for an event that ended possibly over ten minutes prior. I’ve also occasionally contributed 1 kill/handin to an event and then wandered away but remained in the map, and 5-15 minutes later been awarded gold participation.
Congratulations, you have mastered reading comprehension!
There are a few things you can still grab with laurels from the laurel vendor, and there’s a vendor at the priory that sells some stuff if you were around for season 1. Might be a few other things, too.
Given that, as mentioned, the markers still wouldn’t be guaranteed to be in the right spot, it is unlikely this would have a net positive effect. That said, an expanded set of markers probably couldn’t hurt in general cases.

First of all, it has been quoted as taking 5 to 30 minutes, not a few hours; let’s just get that out of the way.
Now, it’s the transfer of all the data between two database that are stored on entirely different networks in different physical locations. There’s a whole lot that goes into that regarding data security, integrity, etc. that doesn’t necessarily happen to as great of an extent when it’s just being accessed piecemeal during a play session.
The long and short of it is that as the servers are currently set up, it would be a poor use of resources to swap an account back and forth every time they’d like to group with the other side. Nobody wants the loading times that would be required.
I don’t have any issue with the rocks in the tunnel, since they present an obstacle. The water walls, on the other hand, seem to serve only to delay the players. Since there are no enemies to fight there, they seem useless.
I would not agree that the fractal as a whole is not challenging, though, especially if you try and avoid all the machine’s attacks.
I am completely mystified at the amount of people having issue with the peach tree “jumping puzzle”. Sure, it took me about 20 minutes the first time I finally found my way into the cave – but most of that time was spent trying to go directly up, until I finally bothered to walk around to the ne side and just climb up the real path.
There are no high-angle slopes you need to stand on, no jumps to be made around corners where you can’t see your destination, no barely survivable drops… In short, there is nothing there to indicate it was supposed to be difficult in the slightest. Hell, running up through the centaur camp (what most of you are suggesting) is far more difficult for most classes and certainly any player not capable of making the jumps asked for inside the cave.
But check out those abs! He’s got, like, a thirteen-pack.
It’s been reported that you can unlock that line in both episode 1 and 2, but not 3 or 4 for some reason. It’s possible this was an oversight and will soon be fixed.
There is no reason to suspect a big save file. No personal textures or music or movies that could make transfert slightly more bandwidth consuming.
An inventory slot (guessing) would have what… id of the bag it’s in, slot in the bag, id of the item type, eventually a count for stacked items (max 250, one byte is enough), probably a few flags… im surely forgetting things but we’re talking a few bytes here!!
To that you add achievements (id + progression), quest status (% of hearts), other stats (currencies, pvp progressions, masteries, traits and build settings), actual item info (weapon type, stats type, skin id, original skin, flag for soul/account bound, sigils etc), character style and name, pet names… and more surely.
While this is a lot of information indeed, none of it actually takes a lot of memory to store.
This is literally a few megabytes to transfer. Your thousands of hours spend on guild wars is no more than that.
While this would be true if they were storing player data in a txt file for each player, no respectable MMO would ever consider doing so. The data is almost certainly stored in a multitude of tables in a database, and databases are fragile things. I am not surprised it takes time for them to do a full transfer of an account between the two server systems.
