I agree. I am not really doing the achievements this season since I really do not want to have to keep replaying the instances over. I just do not find it fun doing it over and over again. I did like how they did the achievements in S1 since you could get them while doing the events etc and it felt like you were working towards something more because of the reward at the end with the meta. Now I just have no incentive to do them because to me there just meh.
People keep asking about getting better rewards and more gear looks in the game itself and not the gem store. Unfortunetly, this is not going to happen with Living Story since you are not paying anything for it and no money is being generated from it. Why do you think most of all the armor and weapon skins are in the gem store? Because it is the only way for the company to make money. An expansion would allow more looks and rewards to be in the game itself since the company would make money off selling the expansion.
I for one really do not care too much either way at the moment. Just thought people should realize that there is a trade off with Living story that people may not realize.
Again if you compensate for one you would have to compensate for all and that is something they cannot do.
Expect the JQ and SoS constantly swap places as long as TC finishes 2nd. TC/JQ can at best finish 3rd or 5th in the 7 week tournament. Due to TC/JQ having 4 tier 1 match-ups and SoS winning 4 tier 2 match-ups. A 6 server league is not the best format for a swiss tournament, but the 9 server leagues will be more interesting.
Yeah, that’s what I was afraid of….. so there is a high chance that SoS will be 2nd overall despite them not actually being better than TC/JQ.
Very unfair tournament…..and I don’t like it one bit. Coming in 3rd to BG & JQ, that’s fine, but coming in 5th behind other servers who get placed higher because they have easier matches….just not right.
I agree. Unless JQ or TC can manage to beat BG, the outcome of Gold league is set in stone. Probably was after the first week. Being only 6 servers in gold league is the issue and does not work with this type of set-up.
WvW/RvR in games isn’t fair, and it will never be fair. If you can’t stomach uneven numbers, gear discrepancies or anything like that then these systems of mass PvP/RvR/WvW or whatever you want to call it aren’t for you.
Essentially the same argument Devon made in his now famous statement some time ago. It’s still equally bad though. It is true that WvW cannot achieve the same degree of balance as other, smaller formats – but it is still desirable to aim for the best degree of balance achievable. Machups will never be entirely even, and there’s nothing that will change that. But you can still do your best to ensure that each side is as likely as possible to have an equal amount of force to throw around the map(s). And in that regard there is vast room for improvement.
Balance will never be there because of the varying degree of armor/weapon/trinket set ups with runes/sigils as well as trait point allocations. The only way to get balance would be to give everybody the same number of each class with the same gear and trait allocations for those classes. Even then there would still be kittening because of player skill becoming a factor. The side with less skill and teamwork due to varying personalities and differences of views and opinions would be the deciding factor, not to mention the resolve each side has. Then the people on the server who can’t work together as well as the other one would kitten that something else isn’t fair and the cycle continues.
Though having approximately the same number of people toeing off with each other in a fight would give you the closest semblance of balance for WvW, it will never happen because some like to roam, some like to zerg, some like to escort yaks and defend camps and you’ll never be able to force people into doing something they don’t want. In an ideal scenario everybody would have equal numbers doing everything the other server(s) is/are, however this is not how it works in practice and will never work that way. Just because you may have even numbers on the map doesn’t mean that there will still be any semblance of an even fight. There will always be uneven fights with one side having the advantage.
This is why people on servers who have built up a community and work well together are able to get as much done as they do. If you’re on a low tier server with low population and no organization and the people have a general apathy about winning or WvW in general you’re not going to get anything accomplished. Either step up and spend the time trying to build the community and get it working well or find a different server that suits you better.
There’s plenty of people across all leagues that are happy where they’re at and are content with how things perform. It’s the extremely vocal minority that like to go on about how they can’t win and it’s not fair and everything needs to change to give them the best shot possible, yet they’re afforded the same possibilities that the rest of us are. The difference is what you do with it and they typically just don’t want to spend the time and effort putting things together and bettering themselves or the community they play with and would rather complain on the forums about how it’s not fair because it’s the easy thing to do.
I believe you have it backwards that it is the vocal minority that wants balance. Just look at the thread awhile ago after season one where people are asking for more fair match-ups. You can go about and say how your community works together so well, but numbers are the only true fact that matters. You outnumber your oppenent on the map, you will win beacause you can just take more stuff.
It seems to me that most, not all, the people that do not want more fair matchups are from those servers that are dominating.
I agree, something does need to be done. However, rotating alliances I do not think would work very well if I understand you correctly. To me there should be 3 alliances and you pledge to that alliance and are bound to it. You cannot change ever. Limits would have to be in place in order to even out the alliances as well which means this alliance is full you can only chose the other two. Not sure how exactly it would work just throwing something out there in a quick thought while at work
Although I see this approach as not helping. I’m not worried as much about this system in low pop maps. I’m worried about it in high pop maps, like cities, or when a guild event happens. If my whole guild can’t get into a map and keeps getting split because you can’t shove out randoms… gg.
I’m not sure how so many people still think this will be a problem. They’ve addressed it multiple times.
In short, your guild (as well as people in your friend list and home server) will all be put in the same instance, and you can still “taxi” people into the instance you’re in.
I don’t think you are understanding the problem of this algorithm happening over time. You can’t “kick” people out of a map who are already there. So if my guild starts zoning into fireheart rise over the course of 3 minutes we will each get prioritized at different times, not all at once. So the first person into the zone will get placed into a map that fits his needs, and that could be a zone with mainly SBI people because the rest of the guild isn’t there yet. The next person might get placed with him because they are in the same guild, but eventually that map fills up and the rest of the guild has to be in another map, that may also have random people in it.
Basically the flaw it doesn’t all happen at once. Each evaluation is separate. So since you can’t be shuffling people out of maps constatnyl you just keep filling them up. You are going to end up with random people because that is the nature of this. And quite often they will replace spots that your guildies could have taken to be with you.
It is complicated and may take some time to think about, but if you write the progression down on paper you will see that the fundamental flaw in this is that you can only add to a map (and the system is also going to be adding to a map constantly), and can’t forcible subtract.
I wish people would quite thinking that these maps are their personal instances. That is the way it is sounding to me. These are open world events where anyone can join in. The issue is with the events and not the maps. They should have never been made for an entire map to beat it. Half map sure, whole map no.
All that this means is that you will have to change your tatics depending on how many are actually doing the event.
If you’ve actually done any of the content this pertains to, you’d not be saying this. The three-headed wurm requires the coordination of a full map to succeed. Not a majority, not a handful, not everyone but the 20-30 who ignore you in map chat. EVERYONE. If you refuse to participate in the event because you’re doing something else, unwilling to leave the map for a little bit (this is the reason a lot of big guilds Force an overflow for wurm), unwilling to use the provided/offered means to communicate (teamspeak/ventrilo), or unwilling to do anything else to provide some measure of assistance to the raid, you’re one thing. Dead. Weight. You’re contributing absolutely nothing useful to the event’s success, and everything to the event’s failure.
Wurm is far harder than Teq is, and a direct result of that is that it requires a hardcapped server where EVERYONE there is there for one purpose: killing the wurm.
The thing is though you should not be able to claim an overflow just for yourself. To me that is just an exploit. The issue is the scaling and difficulty of the events that anyone can join if the want. That is something Anet must do. But making it raid content that is instanced should never be added since that is the reason a lot of people came to GW2 because it did not have raids.
Maybe JQ should have done something else at SEA other than roll TCBL and sing kumbaya with BG in garrison? Maybe something like hitting BG?
Unfortunetly now it is too late to really do anything
Reading through all of the complaints about the schedule, even though everyone states that what they hate about it is that the event time are “fixed” or “static”, what it really looks like is that people don’t think that the schedule has the events happening often enough.
I think it is because most of the time people are doing them quickly then logging on with an alt to do them again. Getting more loot that way. The large 3 events I can see somewhat of a problem because of the 3 hour window. They may need to tighten that up.
The events are currently on a schedule now, this just put some more organization into it which I cannot see what the problem is. The temple events are the only issue I can see being a problem. From looking at the schedule you can go from one event right to another and not break a sweat.
Overall, I just do not see much of an issue with this, even after reading all the complaints people have.
I question TC’s strategy in 2v1ing JQ and playing for 2nd from the start. If it is 5-3-1 point format, winning second twice yields the same points as winning 3rd and then winning first in the 2nd match. Why give up playing for first without even trying? SOR did the same thing last season and now the ex-SOR on TC are doing exactly the same thing again this season.
BG has the best coverage out of all servers on NA. I’ve been saying this months ago even when they were intentionally tanking to recruit more guilds. You want squash any momentum BG has from the start, but by 2v1ing JQ, TC has essentially made BG stronger.
Something smells fishy and I’ve been hearing a lot of things that can’t be mentioned here..
I play from 1st day and i still remember TC snatched BG Bay when BG was defending from JQ. (Clearly TC and JQ team up to beat BG here)
Even when this 2 server team up to defeat BG, they still cant succeed.
When BG lead JQ by 5k ++, TC change strategy and double team JQ because they know they cant get 1st but 2nd place they can.
I do think that it was a mistake on TC’s and JQ’s part also for not launching a full 2v1 on BG on reset. What I saw was the standard strategy on reset where you 2v1 the server on their home border. Hence, JQ was getting 2v1 on JQ bl. TC was getting 2v1 on TC bl and BG was getting 2v1 on BG bl. So for the first couple of days, JQ and BG were neck to neck while TC was falling behind (but still a shot at 1st place).
TC then shifted strategy on Sunday and launched a full 2v1 on JQ with BG for almost 2 FULL DAYS ON ALL MAPS, essentially securing BG 1st place since TC is now playing for 2nd place. The question here is why pick JQ to 2v1 instead of BG.
This is just my opinion, but I thought a better strategy from the start should been a full 2v1 on BG by both TC and JQ to demoralize their PVE population early and eliminate any momentum BG may have. In a way, I feel that the tanking BG did intentionally for 2 months worked again despite numerous warnings on the forums since there are still many from both servers underestimating BG heading into Season 2. If both servers didn’t underestimate BG, both serves would have 2v1 BG from the get-go.
This is exactly what I stated in this thread or another. I would of came out heavy 2vs1 BG for 4 days straight and then sort it out afterwards. Playing for second gets you no where since it basically is getting 3rd and moving to Tier 2 for the win the following week. Nothing is gained except BG taking 1st each week. People keep falling for the tricks BG does which is quite sad. Not BG’s fault since it works, I blame others that fall for it
There needs to be more 2v1 against the server in the lead. However leagues do not make that favorable. If a server feels they cannot win 1st, the play for second only, which I think is wrong. If you look at the matches now everyone 1st place in guaranteed to win this week. Nothing is close.
If you look at BG/JQ/TC. TC and JQ should have came out of the gates 2v1 BG. Everyone know BG is the main competition and if they would have 2v1 them from the start, this matchup could of looked a lot different. People keep saying that it is bad map politics and such, not in the server’s best interest. So it is in the server’s best interest to play just for second?
How the scoring should go for the tournaments should be 2 points for 1st and 1 point for 2nd and 3rd. To me this make it more exciting and may encourage more servers to gang up on the power server.
Than why do server blackouts work when a mass amount of people just loging off causing a full server to go to very high?
Read my quote again… I’ll bold the important part:
Here’s a real world example from Gaile on how server capacity works.
I don’t mean to dismiss your concerns, but couldn’t the same be said about a lot of things? “My friends and I wanted to go to the 6:30 showing of a popular film but it was sold out.” “We tried to book dinner reservations on Saturday, but they can’t fit us in until next week.” “The first available appointment for your doctor is next Thursday.” “The flight was booked solid.” Maybe the most apt analogy is, “I went Christmas shopping and it took me 30 minutes to find a parking space.”
I have seen the same server/world situation since Asheron’s Call (which was a long, long time ago). Servers have capacities and there’s no way (that I can think of) to get around that — it’s a hardware situation that must be accommodated, much as a telephone system has a specific limitation on the number of calls that it can handle.
Please note that GW2 world capacities are adjusted from time to time; in fact that happened quite recently. More importantly, world population changes take place daily when individual players move to a different world, when guilds switch worlds, etc.. And I don’t know of anyone who has this problem for more than a few days.
I do sympathize with those who have to wait a day or two to get the whole gang together and I hope that each of you will soon be good to go.I think the movie theater is good example when you think about “full” servers. There are only so many “seats” available at any given time. If there are 200 seats, and everyone is sitting in one, then no one else can sit. Guesting in this case would be that you’re still in the theater and not “sitting down”, but rather you’re standing off on the sides. But say someone doesn’t like the movie, and leaves. Now there are 199 seats filled, with one empty for someone new to come in.
Sigh: Blackouts are not people leaving a server. They are logging out to which seems to change the server status. A full server that does a blackout should not let anyone into even if people log off. That is not the case though. BG for example is a server at full status. People logged off causing it to go to high status which now allows other to gain entry to transfer. People are not moving account they are just logging off causing the server status to change.

Please refer to my post so you have a better understanding on how server capacity works:

You did not answer about why servers do blackouts. Look at BG that did it before the tourney started. They managed to get more people in by massively logging out. No one left the server, they just logged out. As I said, it should be by accounts but in what is actually happening it does not appear to be that. Blackouts would be meaningless than.
Again, refer to my post. Gaile herself tries to explain it, thus the reason why I quoted her. Unless you’re trying to say Gaile, an Anet employee, is wrong?
Than why do server blackouts work when a mass amount of people just loging off causing a full server to go to very high?

So if I join a server that is very full at night and full by day, I have to wait to login everytime i login during the day?
No, because servers don’t work that way. Server capacity is based on how many accounts are housed on that particular server. So if you manage to transfer to a server that’s very high or full, then that’s were you live. However, if there are a lot of people online, you may be placed into an Overflow server, depending on which map is full. GW2 doesn’t work like some other MMOs where you need to queue up to log in.
It does not work just on account basis. I wish it did, however, that is not the case. Why do you think BG and others do mass blackouts to get more people in? If it is just accounts than blackouts would mean nothing since they still would not get in.
This is why I think there is a fundamental flaw in how it works since a server could be full and yet do blackouts and such to get more in making it even fuller. Again I do wish it would be just accounts on the server, than every full server would have the same amount of accounts, but it is not the case.
If I hear one more time about how supposedly stacked my server is, I’m going to start slapping kittens. Maybe you need to look at the servers who are both beating us currently? Though, granted, they need to keep each others unmentionables in each others purses to do so, I guess
The thing to point out is that JQ, TC and BG are all full servers. However, this does not truly mean that much. There is different levels of full I would say. I am not sure how Anet calculates what full and what is not with regards to a server. Number of off accounts, people logged in? But when servers are full and conduct a blackout so they drop to not being full anymore to squeeze more in than that server technically just got more accounts than other full servers.
So one server could have 15000 accounts and be full while another could have 10000 accounts and be full since there is a threshold of what constitutes being full. This is a huge margin. So when people say well you should be doing better because you are a full server, this cannot be entirely true since another server could have 1000s of more people because of doing blackouts and such.
That is why i figured that accounts were the determining factor when looking at a full server, but that does not seem to be the case. I wish it was since all full servers would technically be equal in number of accounts. Servers would not be able to squeeze more into them if that was the case.
BG also had 3 maps without queue (only ebg had queue).
I would love to see a screen shot of that since I do not really believe it.
TC isn’t part of a double team with BG. TC is focusing more on JQ for one reason, JQ is closest in score. Taking points away from JQ is a smart strategy to try to get second this week.
That said…. who really cares about the blobfest known as T1.
Well I guess that is true, however, 2nd or 3rd means really nothing. Technically 1st means nothing either besides who has better coverage. I just would think that servers may try to fight against BG so not to have BG win again and knock them down a few levels mentally. This may make other weeks a little easier for other servers since it will help demotivate some of their bandwagoner’s.
What happened? O.o They seemed weak pre season but I guess once season started they got serious and crushing everyone now
BG has always been the strongest. They just say they are not and take time off to recruit more and such. Same thing happened in season 1.
What I do not understand is why TC is doubling teaming JQ with BG instead of JQ and TC double teaming BG. Same thing happened in season one with SoR. Makes no sense to me but to each their own I guess.
There is absolutely no reason to make a dual legendary at all after this change, people who wants legendary available in wardrobe will NEVER gonna make dual, people who made dual or more legendary gonna feel like idiots, and please don’t tell me that we lose nothing, you are not in our shoes, you will never, ever be one of us. Many people are feeling this way, that’s why someone made this thread and people like us are in this thread. Sure some people with dual not agreed with us, but they at least know how us feel..
Funny how people called us selfish, we Made dual or more, we have the RIGHT to complain about new changes.
I have dual legendaries and I still think this is a great addition. I can care less if people copy a single on or not. I earned mine and I know that they will have the best stats in the game forever. I do not want compensation or anything. The ones complaining are far and few between. The majority of people endorse this change and I am one of them.
Some people could have save gold by getting only one and skinning the second, but this change doesn’t have any negative feedback by itself. Some people’s ego is getting hurt, but that’s because of their pessimist perception of things.
This isn’t a question of ego for a lot of players. This isn’t a comparison to how other people have it easier, or really any comparison to the rest of the player base. Nor is it an economic thing. The situation is plain and personal: some made a 2nd skin, at great cost, and then Arenanet gave it to us for free at a later date. I thank them for that, as it was the goal all along, but it leaves us with a great deal of wasted time and effort to reflect on.
You can say that about every duplicate item some one has across characters. Where do you draw the line? You cannot compensate everyone and I do not believe they should, including myself. To me this is a great feature and I will take advantage of the positive of it and not look at the negatives. So I got to of the same legendary, so be it. I know that they will remain the best gear in the game if new armor sets are introduced.
When will people understand that this line can’t be drawn? It is never, ever, gonna be fair for everyone. Go on with feature and enjoy instead of caring about something already past and most likely trying to cut off this upcoming feature. The game has to somehow evolve and it is right now. Let everyone enjoy, everyone.
The coiche would be impossible to make for many of us as it’s not only about legendaries (as often stated before in this thread… people need to read before posting). It’s always gonna be unfair for someone, either go with the 99% players or with the 1% that thinks it’s unfair.
ANet, don’t remove this feature as it’ll hurt more than anything else done with it. Compensate those who did as you wish, but don’t make this feature go to waste.
Agree, although I do not think they should be compensated either. As you said you need to draw the line. If they got compenstated, then how about all those with mulitple T3 sets, jade weapons, Fused weapons, etc etc. Should they not be compensated to then? If you compensate one group, than you would have to do it for all to be fair.
Sorry but that is not realistic.
LEGENDARIES SHOULD BE EXEMPTED FROM THIS WARDROBE SYSTEM TO MAINTAIN ITS LEGENDARY STATUS….
That would be quite sad to be honest… But ANet shall pick. I’m done here, too much selfishness shown by dual wielders. It’s all about them or nothing.
And who is more selfish, the people defending the system so they can have an additional 2-3k gold skin free, or the people who already have their skins and would like to be compensated?
We aren’t asking for the system to change if we can be compensated. Also how does us being compensated effect you? If anet says “Oh sorry about that change just pick a different legendary,” how will it negatively impact your gameplay experience?
Then everyone with duplicates of everythng should be compensated? No? This is the issue. If you compensate for one you must do it for all. To me this is all about just feeling special that, hey look at me, I put so much time and effort into getting duplicate legendaries. Sorry, but legendaries are not what you think they are anymore. I could go right now and buy them all if I wanted to but think it is quite pointless to do so.
As I said, no compensation and no refunds. You still have your two legendaries and that should be good enough for you. Simple as that.
Those talking of pets getting armor. I just found some hidden code of pictures that will be coming
Yes an expension would be nice, however, what size expension would be good for you all? The issue is if they brougth an expansion with 5 new zones, a few more dungeons and some other items, how long would it be until people get bored of that. Most of these people would take a week to get through it all and then be right back where we are at now.
I am not saying there should not be one. Anet is trying to do something different which this game was supposed to be about. It was not meant to have raiding, which people are still wanting and I venomously appose, but a dynamic world that changes.
Has the LS been done well. Yes and no. There are issues with it that need to be cleaned up. The living story should be brought out new once a month which more to it and be more dynamic and detailed in it’s story and what needs to be done playing it.
Just my two cents
We managed to win once in NS and my last run (10 hours ago approx) was a near success with one down and the other two at like <1% health before time ran out, but we failed the hologram fight.
So yea next time I’m guesting onto Jade Quarry.
My main server is JQ. Took me an hour to get into it last evening. Did one knights event on the overflow and succeeded but not in 6min. After that event I got the click to get into main server. So best chance to get onto the main server is actually right after a knights event I believe since people may leave the zone after that. No guarantees though
Aye JQ did the knights a titch over 4min last night. Was a great experience
I was on the blue knight and it melted in 2min. The attempt prior we just were 15 or so seconds over the 6min achieve.
To me just give a mystic forge recipe to convert them to dragonite or emp crystals. Or an NPC merchant or something.
Servers that can get to fight Hologram?
in Battle for Lion’s Arch - Aftermath
Posted by: Sardonia.8196
I am on JQ but almost always are in an overflow, cept for last time last evening. However, I have only failed the knights once and the hologram once in all of those attempts. Just lucky getting good overflows I guess
Still dont know how the loot mechanic works exactly.
We killed red and green, blue healed up and therefore we failed.
I only killed the green one and was attacking the blue after that.
Got the boss loot chest with 1 green core, 1 red core and 3 blue cores.
Bug, working as intended or lucky?
Think the chest has a chance to drop any of the cores. But it does seem very luck you got 5 cores out of it. I never have gotten one.
but they never intended for people to get THAT much loot. Geez, can’t people see that the beginning loot was a major bug?
Extract of text taken from the March 4th patch notes:
Legendary Assault Knights will drop 5 Deluxe Gear Boxes and a chance at an Assault Knight Power Core, which can be used to color the Tempered Spinal Blades back item. Defeating all three knights within 6 minutes will award several masterwork items, a luck bonus, 1 Obsidian Shard, and 5 Blade Shards.
It was absolutely intended. Your point is invalid.
That is why I do not understand the change. Ok splitting the zerg up now into mini zergs I can justify to some extend for those servers and overflows that have enough people.
To me just make it that you get a chest after each knight is downed whether you killed it or not. One knight down, get a chance at a chest, second night get another chest and etc. This will help encourage more group play hopefully and make more people do the events since the rewards are inline with what effort is put in.
Get more people to do the events should be the key, since more people that want to do them will make it more fun for everyone else as well.
The easiest way would be to have Tier loot. Group 1 downs a knight, everyone gets loot and chance at cores, Second group downs the knight, everyone agains get loot and chance at cores, and third group downs the knight, everyone again gets the loot and a chance at cores.
People will feel rewarded for their efforts and everyone should have more fun. There needs to be good portion of people doing the events and the way it is now, most people will just quite doing it because the rewards do not match effort given.
Probably go down slightly but not I am not expectning much.
Probably should of sold them last night then they were up to like 5g a piece, that sux
That is what I did cept for the one core that I will want to use. Only had 3 of the ones prior to the nerfing anyways, but made a little gold. Hard to say what will happen. Depends on how many people will still be doing this event after all of what has happened.
I did the event after the patch last night and got the champ boxes but no cores. What people really want are the cores. Champ bags can be easily gotten else where.
Probably go down slightly but not I am not expectning much.
If they meant for 18 chests to be aoption, it STILL would be. Why would they change something they intended to be in game?
They didn’t, they never expected people to go from one boss to the next, and farm them(now, the fact that didn’t think of this is a bit odd, but different topic.)Not everyone plays just for loot though, and the proof was people trying the knights constantly with 0 loot, yeah they’d ask in chat if anyone got loot, but they still played it.
don’t focus so much on the loot you’re getting and enjoy the content for what it is.
__If it turns out the 6 min achieve is unattainable, anet will change that. (just as they did with 1500 Civs to 1200.)
You never answserd my question is why getting that loot makes that much difference?
Plus if you read the initial notes it states “Legendary Assault Knights will drop 5 Deluxe Gear Boxes and a chance at an Assault Knight Power Core” which tells me that each one droped them.
People play mostly for the loot or chance of it. I am not going into if it is right or wrong, that is a whole different topic. But the fact is that many people are deciding to not participate in the event anymore due to it not being rewarding enough. This is a shame for those individuals that have yet to try the content and which will sadly be disappointed when not enought people start showing up for it.
Plus once again the people that could play all the time prior to the patch get rewarded greatly than those after the loot bug. They got tons of cores which they could profit on.
it was 6 from each … players weren’t meant to do all 3, they did not account for that. (foolish, but it’s clear they did not intend for 18 chests!)
And tell me what is the issue with getting that much loot? Does it hurt anything what so ever. This has been the issue with the game from the beginning that getting loot and having fun keeps getting nerfed.
I do not care if they meant it or not. To me I believe they did to start with. But to each their own.
Good luck trying to get the 6min achieve. Never going to happen this way. Was in an overflow yesterday for the first try after the patch. We had max people at each knight from the way it sounded. I was at red. We were doing great DPS as a group and yet it still took 10min just to down one knight. We all did kill all the knights with about a min to spare. Even mowed threw the hologram. Was a great overflow
To me they should of just kept it the way they initially had it. Made it more fun for everyone and is that not the reason we are playing is to have fun?

Something needs to be done about it now. If this keeps going there will be no one doing the event because it is really is not worth doing again. This will leave people out of doing it for the first time. We are only 3 days into it and already people are having issues completing them because not enough people are doing them.

Yea i kinda had to jump otherwise it wouldn’t teleport me in. My character runs but is hugging the wall of the teleporter thingy because they didn’t make it at the same level as the character itself. Tried this only at red side as red is the last one we always kill.
I managed to just run into the red one that one time without getting stuck. Who knows. Needs fixing either way

It is clearly broken. The first night I got loot everytime playing solo. Perhaps except once. Last night after the patch, did the event twice and got nothing off the knights. And from what it sounded like, know one else on the map did either. There is something clearly broken with it after the last patch. Simple as that. Anets needs to fix this or the event will be dead before it even began.

Hey Rebound,
Quick thing, when you got stuck going into the hologram fight, did you jump right before entering the portal? I did that twice and got stuck each time. The next time I just ran in without jumping and did not get stuck. Just curious

Did the event last night twice after the patch. Night before I got loot from every knight. Last night after the patch, nothing at all for all of them. First to hit etc, nothing. No one in the fight got anything.

How did you get 80 stacks of exotic essences?
Ok here is my story,
I run as a pretty beefed up warrior. They supposed to be OP I heard. Was traveling through a nice meadow in the mists the other day and saw a ranger with his pet bear. I thought, ok I have OP warrior, lets do this. I start moving towards the ranger and he turns and suddenly that bear starts moving towards me. I looked into it’s eyes and it was like looking into a demon.
However, I was told not to worry about the pets from ranger. They no problem so I kept moving towards the ranger thinking I can take him down. I keep trudging forward all the while that bear is just chewing me to pieces, as well as, arrows flying in my face. They hurt. But I am beefy warrior so I move on. I almost get to ranger, bear eating me, and see the ranger squat down quickly. I was thinking he was just tired or something.
All of a sudden the ground became all muddy and I could not move fast. Bear moving like the wind though chewing on me. Now how does a ranger make the ground all muddy in a few seconds? There was not a cloud in the sky. However, I managed to get a heal off while bear chewing my legs off. I get through the mud and keep going towards the hunter like people have said, “just ignore the bear” I see the hunter squat again. I am like ok he made ground muddy again. So I think I charge through it. Suddenly spears come up out of the ground and stab me. These ranger must be masters at making traps in a second. How did he dig hole so fast and put pop up spears in?
At that point in time, I had to do something about the bear. My armor was just in rags and man was I hurting. So I fought a fierce fight that demon of a bear, as arrows still flying in my face. The bear is about to die and suddenly he vanishes. I am like, finally I can take out that hunter. So I move in for the kill, life low after fiercly fighting bear.
Suddenly out of no where a black jaguar pounces on me and eats me alive. I down and dead. Nothing I could do. Now how does cat hide in a grassy meadow? No where to hide. Perhaps my eyes were all shot up from arrows in face and fighting bear. I do not know. After that I just logged off and said ranger to OP.
True story
No one ever say how bear in water, Nornbearman not go in water I notice….
Bears are very use to being in water. They have to go eat the fish all the time. Not sure how though they can hold their breath that long when below the water. Must store all that oxygen in their fluffy fur
I know what bear is, bear fat and lazy try to eat campers food. Bear might try to fish, but bear no swim in deep water for 5-10 minutes. Bear sits on lazy rump scoops trout out of rivers.
When nornbearman go to water he turn back into fat norn ranger guy. I think bear should turn into manatee. No one scared of manatee. Manatee prob hold breath longer too, also one other thing shake it off is shout, talking bear much terror enough, but HOW BEAR SHOUT UNDERWATER HOLDING BREATH?!
Perhaps it is because of all the rebreathers the bear has eaten off of people. Their lungs have mutated to be able to breath underwater.
However have you seen the eyes of those bears? I mean you see one charging at you and those eyes. They install so much fear that you cannot move.

DOOD, he WAS the bear?! For cryin’ out loud! That’s just too much now. Anet needs to get on nerfing these bears out of the game. Rangers need to be real rangers and only use improvised weapons found in nature. And i still want to know how they breath underwater. Bears would drown after some time.
Also, bearbow train so going to own the hammer train this season, just you watch.
Then we would just use the bones of a dead bear to make our bows OP
I came to this game based on what they stated prior to coming out with the game that equipment and gear would be easily attainable. You can say now that yes it is quite easy to get if you grind for countless ours for the mats to make them. I would have been fine if they add accended gear but through all means, especially Karma since that was supposed to be the big currency.
I have not played this game in a couple of months or so. Made a couple of accended weapons and stopped. I got tired of having to go out and just grind mats during the time I could play.
Is the gear needed, no it is not, however, I like to have my characters in the best gear. That is just the way I am. This game strayed away from what they said it would be. To those that like VP and think it is needed. Why did you get this game to begin with? You know from the start they would not have VP but bought it anyways. Makes no sense to me.
