Its clearly anets end, you can tell cause they have not responded to any post.
Not quite, Anet hasn’t responded because there is nothing for them to fix. If it was a game server problem then it would cause every single player problems, not just some. Run ping plotter and determine where the problem is.
In all my posts about lag/dc’s it was the NCSoft-Level3 node back when my ISP used Level3. After getting in contact with them they changed the routing to Telia and guess what? Now it’s the NCSoft-Telia node. It’s literally called that way because it’s always the hop between X and NCSoft. So NCSoft (or A-Net?) could improve (invest money!) the connection via stocking up their bandwidth but they haven’t in 4 years so they won’t do it now.
Just pretent GW2 has a monthly fee and give it to a good VPN service instead.
A-Net just flat out doesn’t care about proper routing for their game. No point in reporting things like this anymore. You have to help yourself.
Archdiviner and his minions turned completely invisible and only the target symbol was visible.
For others in the party the attack pattern on the ground were invisible.
Didn’t happen last week when cliffside was daily so i’m guessing something in the last patch broke things.
@Johan Skold
This is nothing new.
Issues changed/vary but have been preset since quite a while already.
It should work perfectly fine.
Instead of a NAS I use my “data grave desktop” and simply share the GW2 folder in the network (on an old SSD).
Each system will have it’s own “$\AppData\Roaming\Guild Wars 2” folder (~10MB) which will be created first time you start the game.
However if you want to use that single install simultaniously for you whole family it should definitly be kitten – not because of the speed but because of the response times.
For GW2 on more than one PC from one source:
https://alessandrogar.io/multiwars2/
Put it inside your GW2 folder (NAS, w/e) and simply point to it via shortcut on your PC’s.
Without it I always had writing access issues (even with -sharedArchive command).
Loading times pretty much double, triple, etc. Really can’t recommend it if you want to use ordinary HDD’s.
LAN speed isn’t much of an issue but any additional local traffic will interfere with GW2. Faster connection types like Thunderbird can improve this by alot.
Side note: Things like SweetFX or ReShade also work with GW2 right off your NAS if you use something like that.
Edit: As for updates you only have to update GW2.dat once. Local.dat of each PC has to be updated after each GW2 update. ’Bout ~10MB each update per PC.

Sadly it’s a normal common policy.
By this definition:
Running forward by one single keystroke, in this case W, can be bannable.
->You do not need to be activly involved into the game for holding a key on your keyboard.
-> You can play other games, run other programs while keep a key down.
-> Autorun violates said policies. You do not even need to be present for a few seconds.
Silly examples, yes, but so would be defining everything in detail.
“Does this program allow someone to play faster, better, longer, or more accurately than someone who doesn’t use it?”
“Does this program allow the user to gain undeserved rewards?”
What’s an undeserved reward? Better graphics (SweetF, Reshade)? Better usability (Who’s talking, gw2efficiency)? Better self awareness (DPSmeters, Overlays for positions)?
On the topic of macros I think you should add an “aside from doing repetetive tasks such as opening bags, converting snowflakes etc.”. You can’t seriously think it’s fun to klick 14634677447735779 times on the same pixels to open ones bags from, let’s say, halloween. Since there’s no use/open all feature many bind a left klick to a repeatable key or the mousewheel. That should be legal and not fall under prohibited as atm.
You could bind mouseclick to a keyboard button and simply keep it pressed.
Someone on reddit wrote: “Playing the game violates the rules” – he/she wasn’t wrong.
I’d never expect some kind of testing from A-Net for every single program out there. However they might aswell could put a list with every tolerated program up. Of course with the usual “If something goes wrong – don’t ask us for help” phrase.
On another note I don’t see anything about reading/accessing/modifying game memory.
Was this dropped? Is it referred to as “hack” in the legal notes?
Is a DPSmeter that does not access game memory violating the policy because people playing in high resolutions can’t use it resulting in a disadvantage?
Reverse question:
Does a DPSmeter that reads game memory violate the policy when it can be used from everyone – so each and everyone of us has the same advantages?
Point being:
People are afraid of using 3rd-Party-Programs because of these vague policies.
You can bend them however you please.
So what I’m politely asking for is:
A simple list – visibly stickied – with the most commonly used, known and tolerated programs in the way they are supposed to be used. Usual safeguards for A-Net included.
I do not ask for testing by A-Net. Meaning: We are on our own if things go wrong.
It would be transparent for us customers & safe for A-Net.
Thanks for reading!

So..apparently it didn’t fix itself but this time I still had GPU monitoring running.
What happens is:
1. GPU clock speed is going from 1080Mhz to 920Mhz back and forth everytime I press H.
2. GPU Load drops from ~50-60% to 10-20%.
3. Power Consumtion drops from ~75% to 30%.
4. Bus Interface Load drops from 10% to 0%.
So basically the Hero-Panel is dancing tango with my GPU.
This time I didn’t bother with GW2 settings and messed around with the nVidia adaptive/performance setting.
Both settings fix the issue but I have to change the setting every single time I restart the PC and want to play this game.
(Win10 10586.104, nV361.91 GTX670, x64 client, no iGPU)
It’s like power saving issues but it only happens whenever the Hero-Panel does it’s magic.
Can anyone reproduce this? It’s not a common problem it seems.
-added plots for “H spam bug”
(edited by Sassy.1697)
I recently monitored the GW2 ram usage again and I noticed that it’s now significantly lower at ~1,8-2,5GB (x86: 1,5-2,2GB) while running around.
A while back the x64 Client used about ~4GB while standing in LA or running around and up to 7,6GB in heavy scenarios (in my case).
So I’m wondering:
Are you planning to release the x64 as default version and try to maintain the minimal system requirements and therefor adjustments happened?
Will GW2 use more memory in the future? Not necessarily to outlive memory fragmentation but also for performance & especially loading time improvements.
Or is my system just behaving weird and I’m seeing things?
Anyways thanks for reading and maybe someone finds the time to shine a light on this.
Edit3:
It’s back to normal “sluggishness”. Deleting GFXSettings.GW2.exe and resetting “post-processing” a couple times did the trick. Apparently there was some kind of hickup.
AO seems to be more defined aswell.
Firstly, what’s your PC specs? CPU, GPU, RAM, OS.
I have never seen this issue, nor heard of it.
The first thing that comes to my mind is Pixel/Texture Fillrate maxing out on your GPU, since spinning the camera quickly requires fills more rapidly than normal movement and the Hero Tab, with its preview of your character, adds another layer of draws.
The GPU would have to be kind of weak, though.
Previously the difference was around ~3fps for popping up the Hero-Panel. It also wasn’t about the fps decrease but about the severe stutter that happened.
As for my system, as stated above, it’s hardcapped at 60fps without ReShade or similar things even in bigger fights because CPU heavy stuff is toned down.
It was comparable to network dependant lag where everything’s working butter smooth in one second and screen freeze in the next all just by opening the Hero-Panel.
Weird enough it fixed itself just by messing with GW2 setting.
I’m not really satisfied because I still don’t know what exactly caused this but I take it.
Edit: Still present after recent hotfixes.
Tested at: Walking toward “The Vaults” POI (LA) .
Stable 60fps (limited, ~70 unlimited) without “H” spam.
10-20fps (heavy stutter) with “H” spam.
Every “H” click causes very noticable stutter.
Edit2: Moving camera and spamming “H” has the same effect. (everywhere)
(edited by Sassy.1697)
Everytime I close/open the Heropanel (H) I experience huge fps drops (resulting in stutter). If I try to spam H it’s going down to single digits from previously ~40-60fps.
Things that changed: Feb23 update & nVidia 361.91 driver.
It’s pretty much not playable like that.
You do realize that GW2 has no F2P model right?
It’s Play for Free as in: Test out the game and if you like it – buy it.
Elite Specializations are a big selling point of HoT so you obviously don’t get them for free.
Splitting the game up would basically result in twice the maintainance work.
And if you really want F2P it would result in a highly modified gemstore.
- No more Gold/Gem Conversion
- Elite Specs for 8.99$/ea
- Skins, Boosts, Tickets
- Queue Priviledges
- …
With that kind of model it would be Free2Play+Pay2Win.
Now it’s try for free and Buy2Play.
I prefer the latter.
Let’s be clear if you want Elite Specs “for free” they would be placed behind a huge grind + added in the store in some way.
Do you think Riot Games is making tons of money from people just playing the game and never buying anything?
“Because while I really dislike PvE in GW2, I love PvP. But I’m not spending $50 to play half the game, because it’s the only side I like. Haven’t touched HoT because of that.”
People buy Battlefield, Call of Duty and others solely for PvP. Those games got PvE (Storymode), cost 70-100$ and their download size isn’t any less.
Masses love their DLC’s and spending 3 times the money over months/years instead of a transparent set value.
My unwanted advice would be:
If you want to play the game in a “serious” way for hundreds of hours 50 bucks is nothing.
If you don’t have 50 bucks for it play with your Free Account till it’s getting cheaper. (Seen it many times for 30-40$ at trusted resellers)
and please:
Think about the consequences your ideas would have and their impact.
Sure lots of, for you, positive things but always ask yourself: Why shouldn’t this happen?
Will the famous human female idle animations ever get their comeback?
(creature = human females. It’s right on point! )
Can we see a GIANT T-REX Saurian stomping through the forest as an event in one of the jungle maps?
Yes! Please bring back the one and only!
Actually I disagree with bringing the 1 gold reward back.
They wanted to cut out the liquid rewards and it’s fine.
People simply need a better incentive to run dungeons again.
This could happen with the following master plan:
1. A-Net revokes their statement about dungeons.
- Dungeons were great
- can close the gap between normal PvE and Raids
- harder than current Fractals
- teach alot of different class & mob mechanics
2. “Rewards & Reason” Changes.
How you ask?
- remove all gold/silver rewards
- unify dungeons tokens (1 currency for all of them)
- reward skins in endchests of the specific dungeon (see example below)
- bring unique sellable skins per dungeon (like EotN, see below)
- add gimicky things like tonics, minis of endbosses (models exist – not much work)
- introduce dailies for specific paths (maybe even gold rewards!)
- introduce a lvl 90-100 mobs hardmode (see GW1) (double chance on unique skins)
- remove timegates from dungeons (theoretical gold reward from daily achievement is still in place)
3. Active Support
- faster and better exploit fixes (applies for fractals too)
- quick bug resolving/ working npc events
**Theoretical Example:
(Drops from Dungeon Endchests)
Baseline:
2 Rare Dungeon Items (Runes, Sigills, Yellow Gear, …)
10 Tokens
+
30% – 20 Empyrial Fragments
30% – 2 additional Rare Dungeon Items
10% – Dungeon Armor Box ( or 100 Tokens from Vendor)
10% – Dungeon Weapon Box (or 100 Tokens)
4% – Dungeon Boss Minipet (or 500 Tokens)
4% – Dungeon Boss Tonic (or 500 Tokens)
1% – Unique Dungeon Weapon (New Special Weapons – see GW1, 1 per Dungeon)
1% – Big Surprise
- The 1% Items can NOT be bought at the Dungeon Vendor( the guy in LA gets an Update for the other items & new cleaner sorting)
- Boxes behave like the ones from PvP or asc. ones from fractals)
Advantages for A-Net:
- lots of sympathie points
- short developing time (systems already exist, same applies for models)
- Only unique weapons have to be made from scratch
- (keeping this short)
Why did I leave “hardcore” ideas out?
While things like leaderboards or “replay mode” would be good additions dungeons have to remain “casual”.
For exotics things there are still sites like gw2dungeons.net and others.
I also excluded Masteries because they are rather pointless for “longtime content”.
Their sole purpose would be to cut out rewards for non-HoT players, add an easily completed EXP wall, or introduce new mechanics.
So the only positive thing (new mechanics) would require alot of redesigning and coding.
Feel free to add new ideas to this. I’ll try to keep this up-to-date and repost it whenever it makes sense to shine some attention on Dungeons.
Edit1:
Possible Problems & Solutions
- Fastest Path Farming (ways of least resistance) & Endchest hopping/selling
- internal endchest cooldown of ~10-30 minutes
Yes another “soft” timegate; but one you will never notice if you just farm different paths throughout the days.
Aetherpath
- rebalance “normal mode” to Level 55
High amount of design work needed for unique weapons
- could be outsourced to the community in contests (see GW1 again!)
There were alot of awesome designs made!
http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Design-a-Weapon_
http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Design-a-Weapon_
Safespots & Skip-Exploits
- Instead of the huge amount of effort that has been made in fixing these kinds of things via terrain changes apply ONE fix to the AI & Event scripts.
Not even “wasted” resources since said fixed could be applied everywhere.

Will the Dual Wielding Trait ever get fixed/changed/work with Berserker?
:)
“The “problem” needs to exist so that Anet can make money. Flood players with items, lots and lots of items, and they’ll have to buy more storage space AND convenience stuff.
It’s very much in Anet’s best interest to keep the system more or less like it’s working now.”
I am very much aware of that. This neither invalidates my statement nor is it any good for the players (which I put the focused on here).
Bags in Bags, Tonics and other gimicky items do their part at cramping up inventory/bank spaces.
Unless you were pointed at another gemstore convenience item as in:
-1000Gems Key-Ring with 2 Slots
-Additional Slots 500Gems
I would not agree here. We also got enough “base game cut-outs” as it is – meaning it’s near to impossible to enjoy the game without any gemstore item.
Especially now with the good old expansion system in place A-Net could reduce the gemstore and shift back to a GW1 layout.
And yes – I know these tactics are common these days. I just keep thinking about the days where no game integrity was sacrificed in order to earn more money. Let me keep dreaming.
Just as addition:
It’s the same problem for 750M so I guess every nV Optimus system is “stuggeling”.
iGPU mode is the only thing working fine. (super low fps ofc)
Since WDDM2.0 got introduced in Nov it’s probably related. Recent driver updates expanded said supported gpu range.
Pretty sure all involved parties are working on a solution. crossed fingers
“the point of all the different keys is that they have to be earned by doing content in that region, if it were simplified people would just find an easy farm and grind a billion keys. i think its actually a good system aside from the inventory bloat which a key ring would take care of.”
There are WAY better systems than this. Soft direction of players is also a good thing.
The changing map rewards are good for example. Very lightweight – still an incentive to direct players to specific locations.
All keys -> lockpicks (Yes it would be like GW1 – I know!)
You would still have different loot from the chests themselves like ambrite things in drytop and so on.
Quantity of the keys would still be the same. The players could simply decide where to spend them.
Also what would be wrong with farming/buying keys in silverwastes and spending them in Aurin Basin (eg.)? You would still need to do both maps and AB chests are limited like all the other chests.
Maybe even go as far as to add a value to keys (lockpicks) so you can sell them to a merchant (or even TP).
Also add values to every item in the game. Deleting things feels bad. Even cheesy values like 4silver for an ascended ring are better than drag&drop delete.
(psychological aspects here beware! :P)

@NilSatis
Did you try setting up a modified gameprofile for GW2 using nVidia Inspector yet?
Did you investigate this issue further?
Can you provide insights on energy behavior, latency, timing and clocking while experiencing these things maybe even WPA logs?
I got curious in this matter and only have a 750M available at the moment.
Regardless – A-Net definitly has to act and provide informations. These are the problems that matter and should be priority.
“they wont admit this is a known issue yet will say to avoid using Windows 10”
Very, very dissapointing.
There is also a very recent Hotfix driver called 361.60 dealing with alot of clocking and management based issues. Maybe give it a try.
Correcting bad design decisions made in the past.
- Loottables & Bags
- overal less clicks (for non combat related things)
- Taxi Wars 2
- forced NA/EU split
-> This wasn’t a thing in GW1 – it never should have been in GW2.
(excluding WvW i guess)
- Dungeon support
-> They are part of the game. Were the old GW1 dungeons and how they kept
a huge part of the game alive completly forgotten?
- Timegates/Timer
-> you do not need them everywhere
-> no one wants them
-> they are not fun
Nothing fancy here I know – but these things bother me the most.
We need a Key Ring…
We need unified and simplified systems.
Not just for keys.
I think everyone is aware of the current flaws.
Sure your suggestion is valid but the problem doesn’t have to exist to begin with.
Bad/Unhealthy systems have to be fixed at their core.
No more band aid tactics.
Mostly seen on .254, .199 and .242 for me.
(PvE, all aspects)
The first few errors always happen at the last hop.
After a while P/L also occurs at the ncsoft-telia node.
This time I picked a screenshot where you can clearly see that it’s gone from one second to the next.
I’d appretiate informations regarding.
It’s getting old..
I will never understand how people can put GPU’s in the tiny x1 slots.
But i’m glad everything worked out for you.
Make the browser of your choice the default for opening links and you are set.
Windows Key → type “Default Programs”.
Just give the browser you want to use all it’s privileges.
Phew – definitly alot of things you already tried.
Can you provide:
HWMonitor Logs. => File -> Store Monitor data
Both with GW2 running at 5 fps & in Windows (as little other programs running as possible).
GPU-Z screenshots from GraphicsCard & Sensors Tab.
Again both with GW2 running at 5 fps & in Windows (as little other programs running as possible).
important: Do not minimize GW2 while taking the GW2 at 5fps logs/shots.
Open “ProcessExplorer” (www.sysinternals.com)
View ->Show Lower Pane. Lower Pane View -> DLL
Click on GW2 and name every non-Windows .dll that is used.
(highlighted as purple by default)
Name every driver version you have tested in step 1.
Did you use DDU (google /guru3d)?
Set step 10. please back to default if you didn’t yet.
Revert everything you broke with step 14. (System Restore Point)
Never mess with the registry unless you know what you are doing.
Do you have anything out of the ordinary?
2,3 Monitors; VR/3D glasses; “Fancy” mouse/keyboard drivers; reShade/SweetFX; etc.
Did you reinstall dx9runtimes?
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/confirmation.aspx%3Fid%3D35
And is it downloading anything if you try?
Can you replace your GTX970 with your old one in your new system?
If yes – please try that & and report back. (After the things mentioned above)
Also: Those 10-20fps you had under windows 7 weren’t right either. Your system is definitly able to run GW2 at 60fps+ except for mass events.
If you need help with any of these things – ask.
“I’ve looked at countless threads and worked with tech support for about a month and tried numerous things to resolve this with no results.”
So write what you already did & provide more than just you pc specs.
Otherwise you get random tips – unless that’s what you are aiming at.
Just delete the “bin” folder in your Guild Wars 2 folder. All reShade files should be in there. It will be recreated the next time you start GW2 – without reShade.
Also remove the App from Overwolf (if you didn’t yet).
“… I DO NOT WANT to mess my guild wars 2 folder…”
You kinda have to since Overwolf stored the reShade files in it.
Just make sure you never delete GW2.dat (the big one) & GW2.exe (GW2-64.exe). Everything else can be redownloaded in no time.
If you need anymore help feel free to pm me.
I’m not sure how “Third Party Program” stuff is handled here in the official forum so I leave it at that.
Here some quick google results on how to get rid of it (without winsock reset or other non-everyday user instructions):
http://www.lavasoftsupport.com/index.php?/topic/34311-cannot-completely-remove-webcompanion/
I would also get rid of other crapware you have on your pc.
And do a full virus/malware scan on your pc please.
" gw2 seems to be the only one using a 56k connection atm"
?
“This has nothing to do with my ISP. Level 3 is the default DNS for GW2 AFAIK.”
?
Non of this is true nor does it make sense.
Level3 is not the default DNS anything for GW2. It’s a network company that is providing server hops between your ISP and GW2 because your ISP does not have it’s own access to the node GW2 servers are at.
The one in the middle can be whoever your ISP has choosen.(Has a deal with / Is the best/fastest connection to the endpoint)
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Routing
Long story short:
Your ISP can change the way you are connecting to GW2. It’s worth a try (but they probably won’t).
Other options are a VPN with different routing or a different provider. Most providers won’t tell/check for you how they route specific traffic though.
And keep in mind that the GW2 servers are having some hickups these days aswell.
(no specific infos on that yet though)
There are enough threads about stuff like this already..
Are the “Third Party Program” bans handled differently aswell?
Would be great to have more transparency in this area.
I’ve tried creating the folder myself and placing the exe in the folder and running it as admin, unfortunately it did not work. I did hit send when the error message comes up and asks me to send it to support. Wasn’t really expecting to hear back from them however I’ll keep a look out for an email.
This is a fresh install of Window’s 10, just installed it no more than a week ago.
I meant a real support ticket like for recovering accounts.
https://help.guildwars2.com/anonymous_requests/new
Make sure you include the error log there aswell.
And since it’s a fresh system – definitly update Windows10 and install proper drivers – especially for your AMD/nVidia GPU.
Could be god knows what if some important fixes/mandatory drivers are missing.
“DbgHelp.dll version 10.0.10240 …”
Did you fully update Windows 10 yet (drivers too)?
Did you update from Windows 7 or clean install?
If update:
Do you have writing rights to all your previous directories?
Tried:
- create X:\GW2\ folder (full permissions)
- move Gw2.exe (or Gw2-64.exe) into it
- start .exe from there with admin rights
- it should start updating
You could also use a stored old .Dat file – so you don’t need to redownload. Just copy&paste it into the same folder the Gw2.exe is in.
Also:
Did you sent this to the support yet? (detailed error log included)
“but it has a really weird texture problem where textures randomly go chess-like blue and green”
I got that myself in one single encounter. Molten Boss Fractal, both bosses combined to the flying one, while it’s doing the spinning attack.
(in my case x64 client btw)
This seems more like corrupt files than anything else.
(Like the bad UV maps in foothills after HoT release)
" nVidia’s drivers are junk right now and with Windows pushing down a reference nVidia driver that is severely broken, you kinda wonder why nVidia doesn’t do something about it.
There was one broken nVidia driver through windows update and that was pretty close to Windows 10 release. It was also fixed after ~2 days with a new nVidia driver (through Windows Update).
I was running old Nvidia drivers from Windows 8 for Win10 with no issues either back then. If you can’t/don’t want to handle minor issues yourself – wait.
(I do hate the auto update policies aswell.)
Always using the newest drivers on a couple systems btw – no issues. And yes 3 of them have nVidia GPU’s.
The x64 problems with nVidia GPU laptops.
It was about the new .exe not being recognized as GW2 so the nVidia driver “thought”: Just another program. Let’s use the iGPU, this won’t need a lot of processing power.
You were able to easily fix it by adding the .exe manually to a profile.
It was also fixed a while back – even stated in the changelog of the drivers.
All I want to say:
It’s not that simple. And it’s obviously not a common, wide spread error. If everyone with Win10+nVidia GPU would have this problem hell would break loose. But that’s not the case.
And (apprently?) NilSatis has a solution for this problem.
Turning off Vsync or using compatibilty mode is not the end of the world. It’s also not only a thing in GW2. The list of games you have to play around with settings is endless (& not nVidia exclusive!)
Generalized rant against nVidia(or the evil, never working Windows 10) won’t help.
A-Net Support might be of more help (the real one – not robot replies).
(edited by Sassy.1697)
…
Retain sanity.
Pretty much – yeah.
Waiting for the day A-Net brings back Luck/Unlucky from GW1 as a title.
http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Lucky_and_Unlucky
(check it out!)
No need for any bot or the likes. All you had to do was standing still – ingame – doing absolutly nothing.
I’m sure my energy company was very happy about this.
Still having nightmares about this might comming back in GW2. No hard feelings A-net…
I do prefer picking up signs all around tyria though…!
I would love if A-Net could communite the reasons for bans through the support tickets and not in the openly accessible forum.
All you get in your ticket is:
“we can’t tell you why you were banned”
“it’s permanent”
“there is no way to undo it”
I’d even be fine with not being allowed to talk about the exact reason but not knowing at all drove me mad for quite a while.
Sure I got an apology and the Senior GM was very nice but he was not allowed(?) to talk about why it happened.
On the social level the GW2 support was and is one of the best.
So my questions:
Why make this case open?
Just to get a hold of the situation?
Can’t you give your GM’s a little more communication freedom IN the tickets?
It’s so blurry, black & white.
I don’t wish this on anyone. It is really devastating – even more so 3 days before HoT.
The consequence for me was to stop helping people on reddit. They could just aswell blame me when they would get banned for “third party tools” cause there are no informations at all.
Yes apparently in this case it was rightfully done but please A-Net..
“Don’t make a martyr of them.” as stated by DoctorDing.
I always wanted to get this out and I hope it’s somewhat contructive.
Aside from telling me to get more RAM (which I will be regardless) is there a memory leak or something that I’m not aware of? Anything at all to help this out?
Memory Fragmentation as far as A-Net confirmed. That’s why we got the 64bit client in the first place. Lot’s of OOM (out of memory) errors in the new maps (as you mentioned).
Regarding memory usage: Everything is fine as long your windows got enough RAM for all it’s mandatory processes. I’m not sure why you want free unused memory.
The purpose of memory is that it’s being used, no?
With 16GB Ram GW2 can/will use even more of it.
(For reference 5,9GB in LA; up to 8,5GB after long sessions in HoT so far)
Not sure why your system is slowing down. Windows + GW2 should run just fine.
Adding other tasks in the background might be slowing it down. But yeah – more Ram will probably solve this.
These lags are, unlike previous ones, not consistent. They appear for 5-20 minutes and go away for a period of time.
It really looks like the servers just can’t handle the holidays that well.
Too many people playing the game – hehe.
“Can we get an update on when the 64 client will leave beta?”
[Beta] = less ppl complain cause it’s beta. They will probably remove it when everything is working fine or maybe even replace the 32-bit client completly.
“Has anyone downloaded this recently?”
Working since it came out with only minor bugs and sometimes slower updates.
Still in the Account page with the normal client (& Mac).
“Is it still the same client from november?”
Client got alot of fixes and gets “updated” with every patch anyways.
But it’s veggie..
..v stands for valid.. so no exploit!
I can recommend Guild Wars 1. Pretty great “Raids” there. (maybe a bit sarcasm & some shed tears)
“Honestly though Raids are just glorified dungeons.” (read this somewhere)
It’s the same situation like at GW2 release. Once a proper tool to gather people is in place, every mechanic is abused and therefor the encounter simplified and builds are “set in stone” for optimal constellations it will be/already is a “walk in the park” like dungeons. Yes – i said the d work.
That being said for me it’s Snoring’s point 2. The lfg is a mess. A simple Raid Tab with the 3 boss names would have suffice – coded & tested & approved in a day.
But Raids can’t be pugged..right?
The whole “eternal” title stuff puzzles me though..since you can get it after literally the first kill and it’s not even up to you to get it.
Are Raids more about the journey than 100/1000’s of flawless kills?
Guess there is nothing else people can show their “exp” with but that’s another story.
“I wonder what portion of the GW2 playerbase really care about raids.”
Not even people that cared about raids when they came out care anymore.. escpecially cause of all these lovly timegates and loot being looked and available through token grind.
Good guilds do the Raid(wing) in 30-60 minutes and are done for the whole week already. That’s not keeping a group of people together for a long time. And some of “these people” play for multiple hours a day/week. Then again new Raid(wings) won’t do the trick cause they will just repeat the scenario over and over till there are 7+ Wings (?) so they are somewhat saturated with content.
Fractals/Dungeons could have filled the gap but not in their current state.
Then again instead of expanding the “instanced content” A-Net decided to nullify old content to boost newer one. A totally valid choice from the development perspective of course. I prefer the just as simple “new content → rewards too good to be true” system and then adapting it down till everything is “balanced out”.
They really (really..) don’t want another Guild Wars 1 i guess.
Oh my – I drifted into the depths of off-topic-land.
Please forgive me. :P
The 3 new backpieces with “selectable” stats can’t be infused.
The Illuminated backpiece on the other hand can (selectable in the mystic forge).
Will this be changed/fixed?
I take my telia node over Level3 any day..!
“However if you wish for a solution to the problem you must ask your ISP to take the matter up with Telia.”
Let’s stay realistic.
There has to be a ton of backlash before anything ever happens in these areas.
This problem is not inside Arenanet, it’s Telia, who are a network carrier. Arenanet has no control over how your ISP chooses to route traffic to them, so if you want to get this problem sorted I’m afraid you have to talk to your ISP, and point them to the failing Telia routers.
If you refer to my plot…did you even look at it?
All the telia nodes are fine and PL happens at the first NCSoft-Telia node.
So your copypasta is misplaced here..
Not saying there aren’t tons of unresolved ISP problems with GW2.
Actually, if you check your first error, 62.115.43.74, at https://www.whatismyip.com/ip-address-lookup/ or some other ip addres lookup site, you’ll find that it is owned by TeliaSonera. So yes, I did look at your plot…
Really now..instead of looking it up just look at the resolved name…
ncsoft-xxxx.c.telia.net
Now come to realize that it’s not the ISP but the node between telia and ncsoft. Yes it’s probably managed by Telia but it’s still the “ncsoft” node aka: NCSoft is leasing bandwidth slots from Telia. My ISP has nothing to do with that node. My ISP is responsible for the blacked out area to Telia – that’s it.
Example for YOUR copypasta:
Routing through Level3. So ISP→ Level3→ncsoft. PLoss happened from ISP to Level3. Now that’s something you can contact your ISP for (not that they would do anything about it).
Your copypasta is as relevant as saying GW2 is cpubound to a person with an i7-Extreme cpu and an integrated GPU.
However it’s most likely just heavy load/holiday DDoS. So we won’t see anything being done…sadly.

I’m almost positive it’s on their end.
I got tired of dealing with the customer support because frankly it’s robotic and script driven as if reading the charts provided is impossible.
Here is what im seeing in ping plotter.
The frequency of this occurring in the anet domain is pretty strong. Yes my ISP has a minor fault and i’ve complained to them too. Yet the only service suffering for me is GW2.
It’s not showing any errors…?
The 100% PL hop is just the NSA watching you.
You get that for example at continental hops. (eg: reaching google US from EU and vice versa)
And your marked server has an average ping of 42 – so not really unplayable now is it?
That’s basically my GW2 plot when everything is working fine. o.O
