“Good 1v1” after gettin zerged haha that’s always soooo funny
Rush could really use a buff. If i could i’d make it something like this this:
- Blast finisher.
- Unaffected by movement slows.
- Warrior leaps to the target doing some samurai kitten at the same speed of swoop then applies an aoe stun at the target in a blast-like fashion.
Basically what Dolan said. Then maybe wars would be good in spvp.

dat eu to na win%! lols I’m sure NA’s will stabalize a bit once this brings a few of the competitive players back
Maybe they don’t all leave when they know they’re gona lose.
I take mending for the condi remove, slightly shorter cd and the fact that in most cases when you need to heal you wont be at full adrenaline anyway. The adrenaline gain from the heal does help in some situations but i find mending to be more useful.
Dolyak has a cast time and if you’re against good players you wont get it off without being stunlocked and owned. It also has a 20s longer cd.
I believe he was inquiring as to how to better perform in a dungeon. With pugs and being inexperienced, healing shouts build is a great way to gain a decent amount of survivability for yourself and your group aswell as providing a constant supply of might and vuln whilst maintaining a reasonable amount of damage output.
You could also add in soldier runes which would give you the ability to remove 4 conditions from you and nearby allies every 20 or so seconds.
Ok fine, i’ll give you the best build. When you’ve come to realize that toughness means nothing and know the pretty simple mechanics of most dungeons along with a good party and can effectively pull off 30-40k 100b every time.
I take Bulls charge, Balanced stance and Fear me, playing primarily as roaming dps. Bulls charge has awesome range and often in team fights people wont see it coming then you can follow up with half a 100b if they stun break or land a full 100b in some situations. Balanced stance is a no brainer, it helps you stomp and get out of situations where you could get combod down, some people take endure pain over this but the increased 50s cd leaves you vulnerable for longer and in most good teams they will have condi heavy classes which endure pain doesn’t resist and you can still get burst down. Fear me comes in handy in many situations, resing a downed ally, pushing people off point for a cap but i use it mostly after an enemy has used a stun break/has no stability when they are at 50% or so hp then follow it up with an axe 3 (traited for immobilize) to almost always land an eviscerate and finish them off.
You should try this build:
It’s a good build for new wars until they get comfortable enough to spec max dps which is what wars do best.

LF4M Wars – Full berzerker’s armor ONLY with ruby orb/ascended back/rings/amulet with GS + AXE/MACE 30 25 0 0 15 SIGIL OF FORCE IN GS + AXE AND BATTLE IN MACE. R30+ spvp with at least 1 legendary OR KICK – For cof p1 single run.
Oh my bad i was thinking of the 50% vs stunned foes. >.> Merciless hammer is a must in hammer build and unsespecting foe isn’t worth it.
If i was going to do a hammer build i’d use Defektives traits from this thread:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/professions/warrior/Defektive-s-PvP-Hammer-Build-SkillCap-Edition-1
Only replacing the 20% signet cd with movement skills break immo.
The hammer trait only gives you bonus damage against actual stunned foes which only comes from your hammer 5 attack which is slow and has a long recharge so that trait isn’t worth taking.
Deep strikes is a terrible trait. Your only signet should be of rage and it should never be active.
GS 3 and 5 give you enough gap closing abilities to not need that tiny bit of movespeed along with 1 sec immo on gs 4 and axe 3 both of which are projectiles helping you close the gap easier.
Your main source of burst is the Bulls charge, frenzy 100b combo which when used effectively tears through almost anything. The key is timing, wait till they’ve popped their stun breaks and dodges, get close and destroy them. You can bait most squishy classes into popping a stun break with gs 4 + 3 and axe 3 + shield bash followed up with an eviscerate then they’re vulnerable to your real dps.
That’s the standard build if you want to be a threat in 1v1. I’ve never lost to a hammer war with it.
Every time i cringe i use a spy kit.
Yeah, they deliberately altered the CoF timer back when CoF2 was farmed.
Remember, no farming allowed, no dosh allowed, the gems must flow.
Pretty much this. Only dungeons where you can actually use tokens to get ecto are contested excluding hotw which is just a horrible tedious dungeon.
Yes, what you are missing is that above fractal 50 its not possible to survive the agony in any way, we have had previous methods to surpass the agony from 47 – 50 but above there you will die instantly
I’ve heard of one method that involves one person dying then being res’d to 99% hp. Once the agony kicks in 2-3 ppl try to res him b4 dying and it supposedly prevents him being hit by agony. I tried once but res’d too soon and haven’t tried since.
Yep. If you’re with “bad pugs” who im sure could easily understand what do given a bit of instruction in most cases all you need to do is tell 2 of them to die on switches and you being the good player here will spy kit on the console and it’s done in 20 seconds.
There’s a simple strategy to the arms which involves keeping one chanter alive on one of the sides then getting your hammer charges from the opposite side.
Even at 50+ cliffside is easy and fast and pretty fun. Dredge is a tedious snorefest with stupid hp mobs with perm protection that daze you endlessly and even in solid groups takes a lot of time. Sure, the rewards are somewhat better with loot bags but it’s still boring as hell.
I’m in high 50’s and it’s just a snorefest of endless kittenen dredge with perm protection and regen where normal mobs can pretty much 1 hit non heavies if you don’t dodge. I think a reasonable balance would be to remove the perm protection and regen giving mobs and also make it so the mobs are actually hittable as soon as they leave the vehicle @ rabsovich. I’m usually unable to hit more than 1 with my 100b and the other mobs aren’t even displaying invulnerable popups. :/
Just get a portal gun and portal up to the big leaf across from the vines. Once there stand on the very edge and auto attack the boss without getting attacked from a single spider xD Utility items ftw.
I joined an experienced group and cleared this first try without a single repair cost. What you wana do is wait till a wave goes past you by hiding off the side of the bridge – there’s a safe spot, then zerg the first mini boss and go back wait for wave to go past then smash those gates down. Pretty easy path, i don’t get why everyone cries about it.
The reason it isn’t working is because when underwater your helmet isn’t active. You’d need to put a 7th rune on your aqua helmet.
Actually, all you’d need to do is ask a player to link their gear. I’m looking forward to these changes although i do think having low lvl players be able to instantly access lvl 40+ kind of defeats the purpose of having challenging dungeon scaling. Will loot be scaled down for a lvl 1-10 player in a 50 fractal, or can they just get a free ride to improved loot and rewards?
Skill doesn’t get them money, RNG boxes are where it’s at man gotta get dat monaaay. For every person who is fed up with that bullkitten and won’t spend a dime there’s another 10 who merrily throw their money into the vacuum and tell all their friends about how they got 2 minis for 50 bucks like it’s so awesome. /facepalm
If you want to do this boss, get 3 full dps wars and 2 mesmers with time warp. I was lucky enough to find a group the other day on gw2lfg that had been in there for hours (i believe they said 8-9) and were up to this boss and were looking for a dps heavy war which i happen to be.
They were fighting her in the cave and prior to engaging we stacked about 30-40 tears against the wall where us 3 warriors would stay to prevent agroing sparks and mow her down. The other 2 were an ele and a mes who did a great job at getting the sparks into position and with a couple of nicely timed time warps we took Simin down on our 2nd attempt.
Afterwards they reminded me how lucky i was to get in that group haha. Thanks again guys.
That’s just dirty. Why would anyone even want to know if the commendations themselves would want to be in the game with no use?
So a couple days prior to the event starting an Anet member told us that Lionguard Lyns would be available throughout the wintersday event. Was this a flat out lie or will Lyns finish restocking her goods before the event is over? Can we get an official response to this please as many had stockpiled commendations that currently have no use.
You’re not alone there Zehro, i enjoyed grinding the hell out of the mad king dungeon and even got a nice rare weapon out of it. The jump puzzle was intense and challenging and i really missed that event when it was gone. Kudos to whoever designed the Halloween events! What happened?? It seems Anet’s building their “business” model around casuals now though as they tend to feed Anet more.
Some people have disabilities, poor hand-eye coordination, etc etc. Such things are NOT the fault of the player.
I’m sorry, but so? Should the entire game be designed to fit the ability level of someone who is disabled?
Yes because adding difficulty tiers to a jumping puzzle is the entire game right?
CrusaderRabbit, I do actually understand the issues. What you are saying there is 50% Q.Q for little reason. I’ve been in every event from start to finish from day 1 so I can tell you that the people that complain about JP just aren’t good at that. Good. Some people didn’t get the prerequisite in the karka event (i was among them). Again good.
Also, you throw arround the term “money grubbing” like you know what it means. Please… if people are so weak that they think they “need” an item, they are sadly mistaken and the money that they spent is of their own choise, even if they didn’t get it. No one is forcing you to get those items, no one is forcing you to spend money. Yes, they are QQing for no reason.P.S. If you think that a game is made for everyone to get everything, you are 12 years old and never played Mario or Contra. Get a NES, get those games and THEN get back here and tell me how difficult this game actually is on it’s JP’s.
Actually I am a sales manager for a large IT firm in a major city, so no I am not 12. I do understand a bit about marketing and milking money from people as a lot of game companies these days do (Such as Electronic Arts).
I am actually very good at the jumping puzzles in the game. I have almost all of them completed. The ONLY reason I cannot do the festival ones is the timed mechanic in them. Again, timed jump puzzles = bad. jumping puzzles requiring timing= good. And you are very narrow minded if you can’t understand the collectors want for a full collection. Their complaints aren’t for getting them for free. In fact most would be perfect with them just not being account bound (that way the ones that get 7 extra copies of a mini can sell the excess on the TP). There is a lot of wasted money for ANet’s buying clientele that just is burnt money. They have NO use for an extra 7 account bound minis. They are punishing the money spenders by making it a gamble for account bound collectibles that you may or may not get.
And for your information, my gaming experience goes all the way back to the Atari 2600. So lets stop making assumptions.
Deathful Dante, I did give kudos for having much fewer bugs and yes for the achievement, the jump puzzle is necessary
Someone in this thread who actually talks some sense.
For the record i did enjoy the bell choir and the jump puzzle is still relatively fun even though ive cleared it like 40 times. Kudos to Anet for finally making ascended rings obtainable for those who have had horrible luck with RNG.
I don’t get why so many of you think you should be able to do and enjoy every single piece of content in a game. I don’t like dungeons. There are lots of things keeping me from enjoying them. I will never even see a major chunk of content in this game. Yet, I’m not crying and whining for Anet to change them to fit me. I just don’t do them and let the people who enjoy that type of thing have their fun.
This game is incredibly simple and easy. There is absolutely no lack of easy content for you people to do. So why do you insist on making it so those of us who enjoy a challenge can’t have even one single thing that caters to our wants? I don’t expect the entire game to be harder; you people are where the money is, afterall. But why can’t we have even one thing that pushes us to our limits and take hours of trying to do?
This 100%. Moneys where the newbs are unfortunately. Obviously Anet only cares about them getting their fill of exciting seasonal splendor while us who want something challenging and rewarding are ignored. Getting some rags for a wooden sword after doing one of the easiest jump puzzles ive ever done is hardly rewarding. Done with this content already.
People complained about halloween skins being too hard to obtain – they made crappy looking skins but easily obtainable.
People complained about the clocktower being too hard – they made a kitten easy one and yet people still complaining about it.
People complained about not getting rewarded for the karka event – they gave everyone who was present during the event a chest.
People complain because there is a lot that is wrong with the game. Who’s the minority Sentinel? I don’t care about this new content, done with it all and bored of it already along with many many others.
I’m with the peeps who don’t think they’re entitled to everything in a game because they bought it. It’s like buying a tennis racquet and asking your opponents to play worse to match your level of skill then complaining to an umpire whenever you lose.
Seriously, this jump puzzle was easy. If you disagree then you’re just bad at jump puzzles and everyone that isn’t shouldn’t have to be brought down to your level because you feel entitled to doing something you can’t. So much tears on this forum over easy kitten.
Personally, i’m disappointed with the jump puzzle, the walk in the park “dungeon” that took like 5 mins all catering to the “entitled” little noobs.
Please stop catering to noobs Anet.
I absolutely agree. I felt like there where just as many people who said the clocktower JP was awesome as people who complained about it. I don’t understand why they had to make it THAT easy now, don’t the people who enjoy a challenge count for anything?
Now this thread is about Winder Wonderland but I also agree about the dungeon (we’ve seen only the first, so that might change). Once we’ve finished the boss all in our group where like … “That’s it?”.
I know right? I did it on my 3rd attempt and was pretty shocked after the difficulty i had with clocktower, that kitten took me like hours but when i finally made it i was stoked. I even had to look at youtube vids to see how people did it but with this one i just breezed through holding w nonstop doing the same distance jumps with ease.
I was looking forward to this jp and thought it would be a real challenge after seeing screens of it, but they definitely spent more time making it look fun and challenging than actually making it so.
Overall id give this jp a 3 with clocktower at an 8.

Every time i pickup a 5 signet war in a pug i die a little inside. Most the time they’re obnoxious and unwilling to take advice too.
I change my build every now and then but i generally roll with healing shouts. Around 3.6k heals every 20 seconds with Great justice/shake it off/on my mark with constant fury and 3 stacks of might every 20 sec and 10% extra dmg for the group it does add a decent amount of dps over time. With full soldier thats 4 conditions removed every 20-25 seconds with 20% reduced shout cd.
I run zerk/eagle armor with knight trinkets and do fine in most dungeons. I do tend to go down a bit more than others though so am considering soldiering its just my eagle runes are in my tier 3 cultural gear <.< They really need to make an item that removes runes without destroying 20g items or transmuting to waste a 3.5g rune.
