Quality of life improvements for Legendaries

Hey there,

I’ve recently been taken over with completing legendaries, and over time have had some suggestions about how to better the feel and look of completing a legendary (the weapons specifically).
The basis for a legendary weapon is that is has an effect applied to your arms or entire body in the form of an aurora or different texture (Juggernaut for example). It also gives you footfalls as well as a drawing effect. Some also have elemental damage, so killing an enemy may cause them to have a burning animation, or freezing animation.

I enjoy all of this, it really livens up the game and gives you something to ultimately work towards, end game equips basically, an extra oomph to push you farther in fashion-wars 2.

Now the one thing that gets my goat, is the arm effects on charr and large norn compared to humans/sylvari/asura. On charr characters, the arm effects are hardly visible with some legendaries. For example with rodgort, I have a male charr warrior, and the gloves completely cover up the effects, I can only see tiny specs of orange sometimes clipping through the gloves. Same thing with astralaria, but in a different way. Instead of casting the entire arm wielding the Axe in space matter, it only covers two sections of the arm, leaving a space around the elbow visible. Also depending on charr size, the yellow rings are sometimes not visible. The same applies to male norn characters, specifically the larger ones, to a lesser extent.

Also noticible, are the footfalls for charr while running on all fours. They dont match where they step, they fall only on two feet, instead of having a set of four footfalls.

While these aren’t huge problems (obviously lol), they’d just be quality of life improvements for an already awesome game. That being said, I’m very happy with legendaries as a whole, and these aren’t complaints, just something I’ve noticed that sets the different races apart while wielding legendary weapons, giving more of a drive to create a legendary weapon for one of the smaller races.

On a side note, while wielding two 1 handed legendary weapons, only the main hand legendary’s footfalls go into effect. If it were possible to have each footfall effect correspond to the side they were wielded on, I believe it would make a lot of people quite happy, myself included

Charr Back Items/weapons 'Hovering"

how annoying would it be if you had bulky armor and the weapons and back items were clipped into your character instead of on?

Well, I would agree with that, but the majority of armor isn’t in fact bulky enough to make this unreasonable.

For as long as I can remember, almost all Charr back items hover over their back, instead of looking actually attached to their back.

Same thing goes for weapons that are sheathed on the back (Ex, bows, greatswords, staves).

Kinda annoying, nothing too too big, but still annoying :I

This is a free to play game. Buy once, play forever. They need to generate revenue somewhere. I personally feel the transmutation charges are fine, and I only have 26 myself.

I really have no argument other than that to be honest though. I’d welcome being able to use my Gem-store armors for free like my HoM armors and Achievement armors or outfits, but at the same time, I’m perfectly fine with system.

I’m not saying they should remove the charges. I like the system too, just not for Gem-bought skins.

The one I’m talking about was deleted, it was talking about how the guy’s wife liked to change her skins every week and how he thought it was wrong to “double-pay”

There was a thread on this topic by another person before, and for some reason it seems to have been deleted, so I’ll make a new one to keep the discussion going (I’m very interested in the idea myself).

It’d be a very welcome change if the Gem-store skins could be perma-use, for example, by having them available in a similar fashion to the achievement Zenith and Radiant/Hellfire skins.

Their system with the Transmutation charges is a great system, but not great for Gem-bought skins. It’s a wonderful idea for the normal armors and weapons, but for Gem-Store items, it’s basically saying you need to pay twice to get a decent use out of the Gem Skins.

I know that you can get Transmutation charges from sources other than the Gem Store, but why should I have to work more after I buy the skin to use it?

I feel as though style items bought from the gem store should have unlimited uses without costing transmutation charges.
I feel as though to fully enjoy a gem-bought item on all my characters, I have to additionally buy Transmutation charges to use. I know you can get them in other ways than buying, but why should I have to work to use something I already paid for?
Why not put a window in the Wardrobe section specifically for Gem-bought skins? Same as the Outfit window?

Simply, it feels like I have to pay twice to use Gem-store items, and a change would be greatly appreciated.
