I just bought the electromagnetic ascender during the sale, and i love it. It just frustrates me so much on how annoying it is on how often we gotta reuse it and how slow it is to activate + the fact that you lose access to your weapon skills.

It would be such a good QoL improvement if there was a tab in hero panel for movement modifiers just like there is for gliding! It would be incredible if a movement toy was chosen, it would always be activated outside of combat without having to hassle with an item in inventory all the time. With instant back and forth depending on if in combat or not, while also not losing access to weapon skills.

Also, they could probably milk quiet a lot with this system just like the dozens of gliders coming out… Give gliders a break and start on more movement toys! It’s not gonna sell well with how it’s currently implemented though!

Edit: Movement toys are just modifiers to movement. Doesn’t really affect gameplay, since movement speed and such stay the same

The game expect ‘shift’ to be used for the game, which is why it’s not recognized for meta-actions, such as PTT. So it’s not so much a bug as a design decision, weird though it might be.

I, too, would like to see it changed. However, I don’t hold up much hope — keybindings can’t be stored, so that we can use different bindings for different situations, [alt] and [ctrl] are similarly ‘reserved’, and the options menu hasn’t been redesigned, even though new additions mean that infrequent options are at the top and infrequent ones are at the bottom.

Still, pressing shift + 7 shouldn’t activate the keybinding for 7 if there are no shift + 7 key binding. Idk about it being a design decision.
Also, what about the fact that shift modifier isn’t recognized while in world map? So you can fx. Keybind “map recenter” on shift + 7, but the game will not recognize it and will just revert back to using the keybinding for 7 again if you try to use it while looking at the world map.

Right now I’m using Shift + 7 as PTT, but I’ll have to be careful about using it while at world map.

Bug 1: So here is the thing, i want to use shift + 7 as push to talk in Teamspeak. This however uses the utility skill 1 ability which is keybinded to 7 (not shift + 7). And using shift + 7 when there is no such keybinding in game automatically uses the 7 keybinding even though it is not an alternative keybinding in options! This is really frustrating, but i thought i could go around this by keybinding shift + 7 on something completely useless as “map recenter” fx. This fixed it for me, i could now use shift + 7 as push to talk keybinding in teamspeak without using my ability.

Bug 2: Through this however i discovered a completely different isssue. When in map, the game doesn’t even recognise the Shift modifier!! Meaning if i press shift + 7, it doesn’t actually map recenter, it uses the utility skill 1 again! It doesn’t recognise other shift commands either, it just uses the non shift-modified keybinding. For example instead of dodging with shift + 5 as normal, it uses ability 5, instead of stoving/sheating weapon with shift + 6 it uses the healing ability and etc.

So as it currently stands, i can not talk in teamspeak while looking at map without using my utility skill 1.

The reason i use shift + # keybinds, is because it’s easier to do so with a razer naga mouse if you were wondering why i chose such weird keybindings.

Transmutation rework idea

While I have over 50 transmutation charges still available and the game being generous with charges, I still feel very bad every time I use a charge. I feel very limited despite having a good amount of charges and as such I mostly never change the appearance of my character after I’ve settled with a look. For a game which is called Fashion Wars 2, it really is limiting creativity. So I’ve been thinking of an idea I would like to share.
We all know that the game is very generous with transmutation charges, so my question is why even sell transmutation charges in gem store? How much do they even earn from this, when you can just explore the major cities for free charges? So here is my idea:

1. Remove transmutation charge currency and make transmutations free.
2. Add transmutation slots to the gem store instead of charges. What I mean by slots, is the option of saving custom appearances into slots for quick switching between looks. So every character has 1 or maybe 2 free slots if generous, with additional slots being purchasable in gem store.

The fact that transmuting will be free and the option of saving/loading appearances, will encourage people more on getting all the different skins in the game; which also could be an economic boost. It might even boost the skin sales in gem store, if you don’t have to spend a charge every time you want to use the skin you purchased after the first time.

I’d pretty much consider this a win-win for players and Anet

As the title says, pretty please even out the Jormag’s Breath and Fiery Dragon Swords speciel effects so they match each other! The Jormag’s Breath sword has considerably less of a frost effect then the fire counterpart.
I recently matched these two beauties up for my revanent and was disappointing to see the mismatch. I know they are 3,5 year old weapons, but please consider evening them out? I know you are busy with new content which you’ve just posted about today, but this would be so greatly appreciated.
Now, the question would be either to nerf the fire effect or boost the frost one. This is i guess the hard question.

Is there a specific reason their frost/fire effects weren’t created to be the same to begin with when they were designed?

This is just a small QoL adjustment, and i know i will be bashed by people about feedback to such a small and insignificant detail when there are bigger issues to talk about.

You don’t like Bifrost’s autoattack change but you don’t own Bifrost? Great! Now you can pick up ANY OTHER STAFF! Considering Bifrost is one of the hardest legendaries to go for, you should be thanking Anet for saving you a LOT of blood, sweat and tears.

Personally, I feel it’s an ill fit for every class that can use it. I’d rather have a staff that swapped elemental effects along with my ele.

I must say, i never thought of a staff which swapped elemental effects together with the user. THAT i would love to have. Congratulations mate, you just completely ruined any other staff i will ever pick up xD. Maybe something like necromancers scythe effect on staffs?

I can understand your feeling of ill placement of bifrost. This is actually a common thing among the legendary weapons in my opinion. I don’t really feel the urge to own any other legendary weapons though. Sunrise/Twillight/Eternity greatswords are the only legendary weapon i find somewhat spectacular, which seems to be the popular ones as well. I hope the new legendaries will make a difference in the feeling of “I need this no matter what”, which the first set of legendaries sadly are lacking in. But this is a completely different subject.

What did i find out you say?
That they changed the projectile attack of Bifrost wearers to the rainbow attack.

So why does that horrify me?
It is simple, i main an elementalist.

Why is being an elementalist significant in this case, you say?
Well, elementalists have four different types of projectile auto attacks (The number one skill, is what i am refering to). One for each element.

So, the point?
Bifrost replaces every single projectile attack, to the same rainbow attack. This means the number one skills as well.

So what, you say?
The whole fun of being an elementalist is feeling the power of the elements, and seing your awesome elements crush your enemies to dust, ash and so on. It IS called “Elementalist” afterall..

So you mean to say that the legendary staff weapon is going against the fundamental ideas and the very core behind the Elementalist profession, you say? (I hope you sure do by this point, or this whole topic went past you)
Yes, that is exactly what i am trying to point out!

But why should the legendary staff Bifrost be designed for the elementalist profession, when there are other staff users?
I do not ask for the staff to be designed for the elementalist especially, but i do however want them to consider the elementalist profession. As it IS one of the four professions to be able to wield the staff.

Do you own a Bifrost?
No, absolutely not.

Then why do you care?
Because i would love to own Bifrost. But as it is in its current state, i can not even get my self to start farming for it. I do not wanna feel like i am playing a single element spellcaster, with a couple of spells of different element that i can use once in a while. The whole feeling of diversity is what i am fond of from the elementalist profession. So the whole weapon is off putting for me.

Why did i write this topic?
Because i hope that there are other individuals out there that has the same opinion in this matter. I would like to see for myself and maybe even show, how big of an issue this is.

I don’t play an elementalist, or i do not even use a staff. So why should this matter to me you say?
Well if you do not play an elementalist, or just don’t use a staff. This might not matter that much to you at all. Hell, maybe you do not care for the legendary weapons and think it is all a waste of time and resources. Then this might mean absolutely nothing to you.
But, i do however hope that you can understand the points i am making in this topic and show your support.

Well how would you fix it if it was up to you, you say?
I am not trying to convince you that i know how that it might be fixed. What i am trying to point out, is that it indeed does need a change.

As a closing remarks, i would like to thank those with patience and time to read through my topic. I hope that i was able to put my feelings and thoughts well into the topic. I hope that my points, or point, was solid and understandable. I hope that this topic does not come across as a whiny post about something which i dislike. I would love to hear what others think of this issue, or what i call an issue at least. You might not think that. But please voice your opinion, whether it be pro or against. But i ask of you, to do so in a civil manner please.

I like the animation effects of the skill it self, i just hate the way the staff is moved. I think it would be much more suited if the bottom of the staff was stomped at the ground then the current movement. Think it will suit the guardian 1st staff skill more.

Sound weird. Have you zoned in every WvW zones as well? Asking this because of the long queues. My next advice would be to actually zone in every of these 4 zones again if you already havent in some time. Best in the morning when there are almost no queues

Have you zoned in every zone 5-6 times to check? Don’t think it helps looking at other zones trough the world map. Try chantry of secrets again. I remember there was a few hours rollback in accounts some days ago, you might have gotten it there and then it got undone?

Whole Party needs Story to do EXP?

Some time last week i did a CoF expl run without ever stepping a foot in the story mode. I got a pop up to do the expl mode someone else in my party started. Not sure if it was intended or bugged.

Edit: Also had problem joining the same dungeon in Arah story mode as other party members, thought it was fixed earliere but i guess not. (1-2 days ago)

If you mean gold, then yes it is possible. Go to your bank and deposit the desired transfer amount and log back in with your other character. There is currently no way to transfer karma

This is a bug which has existed since headstart. Everytime i use any vista, i lose the sound of my skills. To fix this, i am forced to attack something and actually damage it, which then fixes the sound issue. This leads to the deaths of poor innocent rabbits and creatures alike.

This is quite an annoyance, specially if there are nothing nearby to attack, which means no sound when applying buffs or changing attunements and such. I assume i am not the only one with the issue?
