Black Lion weapons as rewards for new content

The way I see it – if you really want one of those old black lion skins, save up and buy it. Honestly, it’s like getting a legendary. It IS obtainable for the majority players rather easily if they are willing to put the time into it. Mind you, I’m all for better rewards, but I’d like to see new weapon skins added to the game. No offense, but it seems like you want a specific black lion weapon skin set that is a few thousand gold on the tp and don’t want to save for it.

Yes, I can save up gold to buy some of the Black Lion weapons. But grinding for potentially thousands of gold for most people is not as entertaining as earning rewards from playing content, either from map currencies or collections. There are also some weapon skins that can’t be purchased off the TP simply because there aren’t any on there at the moment.

Black Lion weapons as rewards for new content

I have been waiting a long time for Living World Season 3 to be released like most active players and for the most part, I love what they have done with the patch. The story section was very well written and enjoyable (albeit a bit short). The new map is very enjoyable and its clear the feedback from the HoT maps has been listened to with the lack of timers and even more gliding which everyone loves. The new fractal despite being pretty easy is an excellent addition along with the fractal changes. I don’t do sPvP or WvW so I can’t say much about how good those aspects of the game. Regardless, for me this patch is a very nice addition to the game.

However, I can’t help but be a little disappointed with the rewards from the new map. Or rather the lack of rewards. While getting new ascended items with HoT specific stats is nice along with the minis and the Bloodstone crown, I was hoping for a new collection of armour or weapon skins to collect from the new map. From the reddit AMA, I saw Mike say that armour sets can take up to nine months to develop (which honestly seems insane) so it’s understandable if developers didn’t have time to add these as rewards to the new map.

However, GW2 has 35 sets of Black Lion weapons that as of this moment that can only be obtained via tickets or the TP. Some of these weapons, such as the Fused set, costs thousands of gold on the TP and have not been seen on Black Lion weapons specialists for years. These weapons are pretty much unobtainable for the majority of the players so wouldn’t adding these weapons as rewards for new (or even old) content promote replayability.

Molten Furnace - Boss Doesn't start

My group managed to get to the final boss of the fractal but it doesn’t trigger. Braham and Rox entered the room but just followed us around without triggering the event. Even after wiping a couple of times nothing happened. Ended up disbanding the party because we couldn’t progress. Really annoying bug that prevented us from completing the fractal.

I did not want to sound so negative… but gw2 is kitten after 3-4 years, they are trying the linking system cause population lost due awfull ideas in the past, class balance is so nice they prefer to remove stats from pvp scheme, skills bugs, the only thing Anet as to present atm is pve wich is really just not that special, a raid, maps that are aoe blobbed and ktrain alike.

Sounds like you don’t enjoy the game anymore so what is whining on the forums going to do at this point?

Underwater Revenant is awful

Just as the title says, its obvious that the effort for the Revenant underwater is non-existent. Why are Legends completely unusable underwater? I can get the difficulty’s of using Ventari underwater but Jalis and Glint? I imagine that the skills Inspiring Reinforcement for Jalis and Elemental Blast for Glint would be the reasons that these two legends are unusable since they are ground targeted but surely this could be worked on and slightly modified rather than just blatantly ignored.

It’s also bloody irritating that the Revenant only has Spear for underwater combat. I bet the reason being is that Revenant was originally planned to only being able to equip one weapon and after they changed this after feedback, it meant a new underwater weapon had to be designed. Or at least thats what should have happened. Instead, we got a second auto attack thrown onto the spear because that fixes the problem. We got a ranged condi auto attack and a melee damage auto-attack. Woo!

Now, my final complaint may just be me, but I feel like the DPS of the underwater weapon feels really low. Again, I don’t do anything like DPS tests or checks but just by looking at the numbers popping up and the time it takes to kill an enemy, it feels like the spear is really weak.

I understand that there are a lot of complaints about underwater combat and no new underwater combat came with HoT apart from some tiny sections and I doubt any new underwater environments are coming soon but that doesn’t make the current underwater combat sections non-existent. What about the underwater fractal? The various dungeons with underwater parts? Open world events such as Straits of Devestation and Frostgorge Sound? Underwater Revenant should be finished and not just left alone in its current state.

Guardians are now totally viable in raids!

Guardians have always been viable. They just aren’t optimal.

I wish people would stop saying this, it basically means the same thing in practical terms.

I could try open heart surgery, but with no medical training it’s not very optimal.

Umm, that is a really stupid comparison. You can complete the Raid with a Guardian replacing another profession. You can complete the raid with 2 Guardians replacing 2 other professions and so on. This makes them viable. Very different from optimal.

I started playing my Herald today and my facets, after turning their passive effects on, keep turning themselves off without causing the active effect. It’s really annoying and it keeps happening nonstop. Anyone else experiencing this bug?

Trailers for the other elite specialisations?

So, there are trailers for:

Chronomancer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hFRDATOe6lE

Dragonhunter: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O2P5n9m3O-s

Reaper: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2D76uEgrxDM

But there are no trailers for the other elite specs. I understand this not really important but I was wondering if trailers for the other elite specs would ever be made. It just seems weird to only do trailers for these specific elite specs.

Druid Healer Confirmed - Feedback [merged]

Scowny.1654

Absolutely ridiculous. Most of the other profession forums are complaining about how amazing Druids are compared to the other elite specs while a large portion of the ranger community is complaining about how the druid isn’t what they signed up for. You are right. You signed up to play a ranger, not a druid. And guess what? YOU CAN STILL PLAY A RANGER!!! The elite spec is optional, providing something that the base ranger is lacking. Are people really questioning the entire expansion on the Druid elite spec?

I can’t even begin to describe how sad, disappointing and honestly confused I am at this “feature pack”. You have ruined leveling. It’s that simple. Here is a list of what I believe is wrong with the new leveling system:

- Unlocking weapon skills at various levels rather than unlocking them as you get kills feels so weird. For example, I love the Longbow Skill 5 on Ranger, it’s just an amazing skill and seeing it for the first time I thought “WOW, that’s an epic skill”! However, I now have to wait until level 10 to get this skill, something which I got at level 3 when I bought a Longbow off the TP to see what it would be like. It’s ridiculous
- Unlocking the ability to explore Vistas, Points of Interest and Skill Points at certain levels rather than as soon as you begin exploring the beautiful of Tyria is perhaps the most bizarre addition of the leveling changes. I guess seeing these pop up on the screen at level 2 gave every other newcomer apart from me a fright and confused them . I want to look at these vistas and see how amazing the game looks, I want to see these Points of Interest and I want to unlock Skill Points to buy new and exciting Utility skills without having to reach a certain level. Speaking of skill Points…
- Unlocking Utility skill slots AT EVEN LATER LEVELS THAN BEFORE THE PATCH is pointless. I was so frustrated when I first got the game that I couldn’t use Elite Skills until level 30 because they sounded so cool and I wanted to use them but I understood the purpose of locking them behind levels as you don’t want to overwhelm the player with lots of slots which the player can’t obtain yet as they lack skill points. But unlocking slots skills even later than before is ridiculous.
- Unlocking the ability to swap weapons to level 15!?!? What!?!? Swapping weapons is what GW2 unique and swapping between my Greatsword and my Hammer on my Guardian when I hit level 7 was awesome and I loved the idea of having a new set of skills to replace my Greatsword every 10 seconds was amazing. Now, new players have to wait until level 15 before they can even do that which is such a shame considering how good of a feature Weapon Swapping is.
- Gathering unlocked at level 9 is absurd as when I started the game, interacting with the Copper Ore and Harvesting Plants felt smooth and exciting as I could turn these into items to either sell or use when I got to a high enough level. Now, players literally have to wait until a certain level before they even gather materials for crafting (Which I have to wait until level 12 to actually start doing despite there being items which I can use at lower level) or selling. Speaking of selling…
- TP, PvP, WvW, Guild Panel, Wardrobe and many other examples of UI are locked until a certain level. You really must think people coming into the game are babies or something because to lock the ability to sell items on the TP before you reach a certain level is absurd because I remember at level 5 collecting Vanilla Beans in Caledon Forest and selling them for a couple of silver when I bought the game.
- Salvaging is locked until level 12 will confuse new players more as they will have lots of items which they don’t know what to do with (especially since you can’t Bank Items until level 9 or Sell items on the TP until level 17) and it will cluster their inventory meaning they might discard the item or sell it to a merchant, something which they probably shouldn’t do.
- Jumping Puzzles unlocked until level 21. No Words…
- The stats gains which are only available to specific levels are possibly the worst change of them all. http://www.reddit.com/r/Guildwars2/comments/2fyyi5/gated_base_stats_in_level_rewards_broke_the/
This link explains all that is wrong with the stat changes as I believe this person explained it better than I could.

There are so many more points I could mention but I believe, hopefully, that ANet has seen the point and, if not, here are some other posts with problems about the new leveling changes:

Phoenix Weapon skins 5 Tickets

I’m just wondering if I missed a message which stated that Phoenix Weapon skins were being repriced to 5 Tickets per skin or did they just update it unannounced with the recent patch? If they did do this unannounced, that pretty kitten considering all the other skins were repriced with a reminders that it would be the last week to buy one of these skins for 1 ticket or something like that. I have two tickets and was considering buying the Axe skin but now I can’t. If they did announce this and I just missed it then I can understand, however I’m certain that I did not. Please correct me if I did.
