Yeah, the whole achievement eligibility for the LS2 is a colossal mess. I’ve lost track of the number of players and guildies I’ve seen who think it’s a bug or who are confused by it. Here’s how it all works:
1. The Living Story achievements are completely locked on your account until at least one character has completed the chapter. This will then unlock the achievements in the appropriate Living Story chapter. (You can see what they are, and how to achieve them.)
2. Only the character who has completed the Living Story chapter is ELIGIBLE to then complete the achievements. For example, say that I first complete the Living Story on my Mesmer, since she’s my main. She can now replay the chapter and attempt the achievements.
However, if I decide that the achievements would be easier on my Warrior, my Warrior is NOT eligible to complete the achievements. My Warrior would first need to complete the Living Story chapter as well before he’s eligible to complete the achievements.
3. You can see whether or not a character is eligible for the achievements by seeing whether or not yellow/black icons appear in your status bar when you’re replaying the instance.
4. Once the achievement is properly completed, you can abandon the current Living Story chapter or switch back to your Personal Story without losing the achievements or the rewards.
5. The instance completion rewards for the Living Story are given out once per character. The achievement rewards (such as Caithe’s Blossom) are given out once per account.
If what you say is true…-sighs-…kitten it…that’s gonna suck…but oh well…life is easy when you least expect it. thank you for the reply! Ill test the theory.
We know that Belinda and Jory are from Cantha. After Usoku became the Emperor we’ve lost the contact with Cantha. All knowledge was lost too. I’m talking about Ritualists.
Belinda became the Ghost and when we met her, she possessed the sword and probably enchanted that sword (buffing).
Ritualists use spirits to help their allies and attack enemies. They have (or had) skills that buff your weapon too (http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Weapon_spell). What if Belinda knew the spell that enchant your weapon?
What if it’s a lore for next profession – 3rd heavy class that uses Spirit to buff his weapon and to attack enemies. So it’s not only Cantha hype but new class hype too!
Its probably not likely due to the creation of the guardians, which act as the ritualist of GW2. Ritualists, from game 1, probably won’t be brought back
Hi,
So I, like many of my fellow gamers, wish to complete the total collection in order to obtain the luminescent items, found that having to get MASTERY over all was a bit much. I thought at first I only needed to obtain 1000 bandit scraps and 10 gold for the item, not knowing you needed full mastery of the event.
If players don’t complete the event in time, they won’t get the chance to complete the collection when the new event occurs or when the events no longer become available. I feel that Caithe’s Blossom should be a bit more obtainable than that. With all due respect. I am also saying this because I completed the newest piece twice now, and 4-5 achievements didn’t get awarded through even though I had total precision.
So I just completed the living story piece for the second time and had multiple glitches appear!
1. Recon mission: My NPCs disappeared during the first part of the mission, and made the game difficult to progress, I had not touched a single mine-body, and I do not get the achievement. Second toon did the same thing except blew every body, and still didn’t get that achievement.
2. Glints lair (light): Attacked the facet of light without using green or blue, completed only using red. No achievement.
3. Glints Lair (dark): attack the facet of darkness without offering any of its vortexs with buffs, completed (easy with thief) no achievement.
I feel a bit gypted….
So I was kinda AFK during the time the spinal blades were accessible, and I started to collect a large amount of Blade shards, now realizing there is no longer a use for them since their blue prints aren’t offered any more. What do I do with these?
Same here…. its broken! Its the Sylvari “Awakening” (Lvl 10) Speak to Mender Aviala Personal Storyline.
Can’t progress any farther & yes I completed 7 hearts that were all circled by the NPC before this one on the Caledon map. No instance or cutscene activates, I don’t believe I received any mail messages in relation to this storyline either.
I used a tome of knowledge (instant lvl 20) before doing the personal storyline if that makes any difference? Perhaps something didn’t trigger that was supposed to at a certain lvl? HELP!
I did the same thing, I dont know if its having used the tome of knowledge first or because of the story itself.
So basically I started a Slyvari character and when I spoke with mender aviala, the game basically ended the progression. It just has the line that I spoke to her cut through her quest, but no progression to the next part of the quest at all. Whats up with that?
What are they and why do I have one haha?
Hello peeps!
So I am a huge fan of guild wars 1 and two, and first noticed the tower in guild wars 1 during the time of killing Galrath, and thought to myself, this thing is still here…but no one has any information on it other than the fact that a new wizard (Isgarren) has moved into the tower and keeps it afloat using magical runes, while also providing the near by town of Garenhoff Ice Elementals and Earth Elementals (kitten, that was my idea!).
So my question is, will this tower and its features ever be available to the game or do we think its still just for scenery?
Black Lion Trading: I bring up the black lion trader and it comes up as blue and green squares. I have to log out and log back in to sometimes get it back to normal.
Characters: Some npcs will come up with the same blue /green effect
World: Infinite walls will cause me to basically experience epilepsy.
Whats wrong with my game?
I started to experience these after I redownloaded the game about a month ago. I noticed that the world will suddenly become extremely glitchy (not lag wise) with buildings suddenly filling my screen with unending walls or npc coming up as green and blue figures. I would try for hours to use the Black Lion Trader and it would come up blue and green as well. This is driving me nuts. Any suggestions?
Too many people basically.
Heh. One of the first games after Launch did last three days. And Yak’s Bend was playing Boralis Pass that time and yeah, we pretty much owned the whole map for two of those days.
Of course, we can’t seem beat anyone else these days … but I digress.
According to some sources, it appeared that one of the reasons that Yak’s Bend had such huge control over the area, was because two internet stars “Blue Xephos and Honeydew the Dwarf”, also known for their signature song “Digging a hole” for minecraft, were seen playing in the Yak’s Bend server. People believed they may get a chance to see them, and that’s why Yak’s Bend had such huge control for a period of time.
There seems to be a glitch that occurs with the vocal audio that needs to be replaced. Not a huge bug to patch up, but it does confuse me for a second when I hear my male 6’8 guardian scream like a woman into combat. Leaves me with thoughts I never had before like…why…-looks out into the distance-
and may i add that ranger has the ugliest armor skins… or maybe its just me
Agreed
I remember having read something about one of ANet’s goals being to allow players to play the “iconic” character types. Traditionally (DnD, most fantasy books) rangers have not used rifles. However, there are a few instances that they have picked up greatswords, the first to come to mind being Aragorn wielding Anduril in Tolkein’s books.
True, but it does seem out of character and as this game is suppose to be it’s own, rather than following a different game, it seems kinda unrealistic for the ranger, who’s main profession was all around ranged weaponry and out of close combat moments, to suddenly pick up a great sword with little strength, and play perfectly fine.
I have been watching my room mate, who’s computer is right next to mine, zoom passed me in terms of level. I, who am level 50 guardian, have watched him hit level 78 in nearly a few weeks…just from leaving his turrets around in PVP…I don’t really think it’s that fair that you can leave a turret anywhere and have it considered participation in a mission (pvp or pve) mainly because so much more work has to be put in by other characters just for involvement and exp.
Plain and Simple: My male guardian started talking like a female guardian for about…45 minutes…and was doing that on and off…anyone notice that and if so, what to do? I have also noticed random character/npc voices that are not from anyone nearby.
I am going to put this clean and simple: Rangers can’t use rifles…but they can use great swords….I do not understand…
Although I have decided to use a guardian as my first character, I have noticed that it is nearly impossible to kill under certain conditions. Using certain combinations of weapons, the character can become almost impossible to kill during combat with any enemy, including in pvp, due to their strong shield, imobilizing, and elite skills.
I have noticed that in a few instances (moments in life, not the game instant), that I am dropped items that either make no sense of dropping from a certain enemy or I have collected nearly 20 of…from 20 different species…in about an hour?…Repeated drops (like barbs) seem to be dropping for me rapidly…from nearly every creature I am killing. (Ex: Risen/Golems/Wolves/Norn/Sons of Svanir)
I am still upset over the moment where in Borlis Pass (my server), the entire world was claimed over in less than 2 hours. Although this is simply a something that occurs, there are no real resets, and therefore you must wait for people to move out of the server in order to continue reclaiming parts and buildings that had been previously taken over. We waited nearly 3 days for when an entire map was completely claimed by a single color until the game had to be reset automatically due to updates.
World Vs. World has been having an issue regarding the inability to enter a world quick enough. Although you can enter the normal world and automatically enter a queued area, it takes nearly an “hour” in order to enter the eternal battlegrounds or any of the pvp areas.
