I, for one, want to be able to play the game on my time table and not be ‘punished’ by missing out on a reward I fancy just because real life got in the way. I think it’s safe to assume no sane gamer finds that fun.

In my opinion, this is what single player games are for, unless you don’t mind missing out on certain things in MMOs. Part of the fun of an MMO (especially a franchise as visually driven as GW) is that everyone is different and can basically make themselves look however they want with what they have acquired and accomplished. I love the GW franchise special events on holidays and other times of the year. It makes me feel like ANet is an active influence in my gaming experience.

Sure, everyone can still look different while having all the same items, but part of what makes people admire something is the prestige, which was discussed earlier. One person might have a “prestigious” item from one event and someone else may have one from a different event and years down the road everyone will have different items but plenty to work with to (hopefully) satisfy them.

I don’t have everything I want in the game yet. I don’t expect that I will acquire everything from every event, but if I really want something I’ll do my best to get it. I’m satisfied with the current philosophy, but if I ever stop enjoying the game for whatever reason, I’ll just do something else. That’s life.

Are you kidding me Umaxer? People shouldn’t need a reason to be cordial and kind. GW2 thus far has maintained an incomparably better community most likely because there is a team that cares to moderate and enforce this.

People want to be vulgar? Go do it somewhere where people won’t be offended. Hell, go out in public somewhere and maybe the random guy next to you will give you a black eye. Hiding behind the safety of a computer screen isn’t a free access pass for people to be inconsiderate bigots.

Not only can we not salvage them, we cannot use them in mystic forge. I also don’t understand why we cannot salvage ascended rings for the infusion or other mist essence mats, etc.

I hope so.. Can’t salvage back pieces or ascended rings right now and it doesn’t make sense.

For the first phase just single target the boss, leaving the 4 mobs around him alive. Kill them when he drops the hammer and the next phase begins.

It was broken and people were exploiting it. However, they made it nearly impossible to complete with new bugs. This patch seemed like there was absolutely no testing involved before the rolled it out.
