Hello. Something has been bothering me in the back of my mind and I felt the need to post here and hopefully get some type of response. I really enjoy GW2 and think you guys have done a great job, but I still feel like something is really missing. I am not getting my risk versus reward fix, and neither are a lot of my friends. This game is doing very well currently, but I am watching a lot of hardcore players lose interest, and I myself am getting a tad bored. I grew up playing UO and still think it is the most fun I have had in gaming, and I have tried almost everything. Shadowbane and the EQ2 FFA server are close seconds for me. I genuinely believe that if ArenaNet released ONE FFA server that it would have a variety of benefits, but I can’t get any response from anyone as to why they will not do it. I believe the following :
1. It would generate a fair amount of new business. There are a great deal of gamers out there that won’t touch anything that doesn’t have the hardcore playstyle and the adrenaline rushes that come with it.
2. It will stop a ton of people from leaving for Darkfall 2, which is on the horizon. The hardcore players have been gradually exiting for a while now to games like that. I am one, but I still enjoy this game because my guild is very active in WvW. I like WvW, but killing people who’s names I can’t even see that don’t suffer any penalties for dying is very hollow for me…and a lot of others that I have chatted with.
You guys don’t have to change the game. You don’t have to do anything other than launch one server where we can attack each other and inflict some type of loot penalty. A small % of their coin and a low % of a backpack drop would pay dividends in generating interest. There is something about all that terrain out there and the idea of PKing in it that many of us just find so attractive.
Please take this into consideration. It would be a huge win for the fans, and I don’t know the math but I would bet my account that you would only make more money off of it.
There is very strong base of players out there that would jump on this if you guys would only tap into it. Just throw them a bone. One bone.
Thanks for reading.
Other videos of WvW can be found on my page.
Hi. I play with LoD on SBI. I am really isolated to my guild and do not have the map/team chats enabled the vast majority of the time that I play. I had no idea this much drama was surrounding our WvWs considering that it’s watered down PvP and we can’t even see other peoples names. I do know that we have way too many commanders on our server. Some of us were in a keep the other night regrouping and taking 5 and some kid named Cover Girl started barking orders at us. I found it really laughable that random pugs with no real following or guild think a 100g upgrade gives them any type of validity with other players. You don’t buy that, you earn it. I stay out of public chats anyway and prefer to only be around my own guild in WvW. I do know that Psylon and the other LoD do a great job and in some instances work with other guilds. They say that Jedbacca and Cohh are solid and that if LoD isn’t online it’s ok to follow their icons, but I still usually just wait for my guild to log on due to my comfort levels with them. I think that the commander icon needs to have guild status/size requirements for the people buying them. I use join squad anyway to get them off my map, but I know that they mislead newer players by making the wrong decisions and having a false sense of value because they either bought or farmed gold in PvE for a little blue dot. This is a very poor system that needs to be revised. I also wanted to throw out there that the BG stack strategy makes you come off like complete morons and is incredibly easy to counter with even remotely even #‘s. I’m not sure how you play like that and have any sense of dignity, especially after you get AOEd into the pavement for doing it and your server loses that week. I’d fire the guy who came up with it if I were you :p
This anet post is wildly flawed for one reason. One players time isn’t more valuable than anothers due to times played – true. 40 players times are definitely more valuable than 5 and that is what’s happening at night when a guild logs and 5 clowns erase all of their work.
When you zone into spvp your traits often switch place or just become blank. It appears to happen to ones that have been chosen in both pve and pvp. It’s getting really, really old.
I made this last night over the course of a few hours. Hope it generates some interest in the class.

If anyone needs an Engineer for organized tournament groups I could use more people to play with.
This will solve the issue of all the useless posers that just wanted the icon. It should also be unavailable outside of wvw. Thx.
They figure they won’t down you in time and get credit so they don’t bother
I’ve been making some Guardian videos and my guild liked this one so I thought I would share it. I am 0 0 30 30 10 and focused entirely on support.
Thx
Full whispering ( soldier crests ) exotic cleric weps ( 5% dmg inc sigils ) and 5 rare cleric accessories with rare healing /tough/vit gems in them. I also have the guild backpack with the same gem.

I made this the other night as a test run for getting back into making videos. It might bore avid DPS players but if you watch my CDs/Buffs and proximity to guildmates you’ll see what I’m doing. I hope this generates interest in the class and wvw in general.
Thx
