i got exactly the same email in my junk today.

how would they know i play guild wars though. i don’t think it’s just chance and i don’t get any other game emails. i haven’t logged into the game except to get the latest update so i’m not sure how they could get my information.

Thought I’d put a comment in myself about the skill lag. Now let me start off by saying that I haven’t experienced it myself but.. That’s because I haven’t played wvw yet… For that very reason.

I don’t know what the connection’s like for other people here in the UK but my bf and I haven’t even attempted wvw because of the lag.. I’d really like to because I’ve never played that sort of style, usually just pve sort of thing, and now I’m just even more disappointed reading this thread.. Looks like I won’t be playing wvw anytime soon

Ok thanks for the reply. It’s just odd because my other character loads just fine while this one doesn’t even load when I guest on other worlds. Plus when I actually did get on last night ( I finally got online around 11 after peak time) I made sure to log her out in a quiet area so I definately agree with you sayin it’s probably Anets side..

I don’t mean to sound paranoid but it just seems as if they tag one character so you can’t connect very well and maybe give the decent connection to any new players that happen to be playing.

I just find it odd that I can log into one character perfectly fine anytime I want and with the second (main)character I can’t log on if it’s during peak time(5-11).

I’m hoping someone could help me out. I’m having an issue and it’s preventing me from even accessing my main character. When I try loading up this character I end up getting stuck on the loading screen and when I wait to see what happens maybe five to ten minutes later i get the following error message: ‘the game client has lost connection to the server and to please wait a few minutes before restarting the game client and trying again’ .. Except now I’ve tried several times and I just can’t get past the loading screen, so now I can’t even play.

I didn’t post this in the tech support forum as I don’t think this has anything to do with my comp as it is new.. Also, I’ve tried logging into my other character and then logging back onto my problem character(in The Grove) and still it doesn’t load (my other character is fine and loads up everytime and she’s currently in Hoelbrak). I’ve also tried guesting in other worlds and that hasn’t worked either.

I’ve gotten used to the lag which is happening between 6 and 11 every night for the past 4-5 days which has made my game nearly unplayable but now with not being able to even load my character this has got me worried, and I’m unsure whether it’ll go away at 11 which seems to be when GW2’s lag seems to settle.. So I’d really appreciate some help in working this out.

Here is my Ranger Kairranna. I wasn’t sure which colours I liked best for her town clothing so I posted both. I thought I’d do her more elf-ish so that’s what I aimed for. As for her very long (but gorgeous) ears.. Well I was fiddling with the ear length and thought why not see what the longest ear length was… and once I saw it I thought that fit her character perfectly haha!

You’ll find my Kairranna to be dignified but very very charming if you meet her so keep an eye out for this long pointy eared ranger!

P.s. And night chaser, your female elementalist is so gorgeous! She’s inspired me so much so I’ve already thought of a few ideas for my next character lol.. Though not moving on that soon she’s still givin me a few ideas hehe!

We already read about being able to share a story mission. We want to do as many different missions as possible so we knew not to share eachothers story mission, and we were planning on working for different groups (ie. vigil/priory so we could get more quests), so the info you’ve posted is really, really useful

I’ve played other mmo’s and to be honest other people randomly diving in and killing a boss/mob you’re fighting (then running off) ruins my/our immersion (i know this game is geared toward more/better co-op though). I’m not against playing with others whether in a party or doing a group event together, but when I’m questing i prefer no help from other players. So that is why i would prefer a server that isn’t over flowing.

Q1: I’m going to be making a Sylvari character and my boyfriend will be making a human character. How would we go about meeting up straight away with each other and avoid the higher leveled areas? We want to play with each other as soon as possible.

Q2: Could we go back and forth between his story and mine?

Q3: Also, I’m just wondering what servers are considered role playing servers? I like the idea of the role playing server, I want a server that doesn’t have loads of human players filling up every area, and everywhere you go, though I also want it to have enough people to join in some of the big events/battles (I don’t mean WvW, I mean the big battles on the PvE servers where loads of players will run to one area and defeat the boss or army, sorry I forgot the name) So basically we want an RP server that isn’t empty or full to the rafters.

Q4: Is there mounts in the game? If not then how do you get around quickly (other than the fast travel teleport type thing) ? Is there unlimited sprint?
