10 Tips for High Level Play

in PvP

Hi mates! I love seing useful posts like this. It’s really tiring seeing that most posts are complaints when you try to find useful advice. Thanks Nova and Israel for this tips!

Appart from thanking you I wanted to ask something too… Does anyone know where I can find an updated PvP guide? I’m looking for general strategy, rotations, team compositions, roles and which classes fill them best atm… Well, anything anyone trying to learn how to play sPvP would like to know.

New players have no intention to learn sPvP.

Well, I’d like to point out that there are some new pvp players who do want to learn how to play properly. I cannot say how many, but I want to say that I’m one of them. Just want to say this because I wouldn’t want you, more experienced players, to lose hope on us newbies who actually seek advice.

I’ve found many players who have given me advice at the start of the match when I said I’m still learning and asked for tips. Some even gave me constructive, useful feedback after the match. I think I’ve learned much that way (still need to assimilate much more though) and think it would be a pitty if this kind of attitude was lost.

I’d also like to thank all the players that take their time to help new players like me. Maybe you find toxic players while doing so, but I want you to know your efforts are not in vain.

TeamQ pug etiquette and good manners - ideas

I think that’s a good idea. Not so sure about rank, though… as you said it can be farmed. I’m still not very experienced when it comes to playing in teamQ and soloQ, so I usually say that I’m still learning. I also say my build and role (until now it’s always MM & home defender, but want to learn how to play new roles and PvP builds).

I’m interested in something else you said, though. I’ve read this forum’s starter guides and Django updated guide, but I’m still struggling to learn how to rotate well. Also, first time I’ve read GOG. Do you, as a more experienced PvPer, know where I could learn more about those two things?

Thank you a lot, Dantes. I felt completely lost about current meta before, luckily, somebody directed me to your reddit post today. I also think this post should be stickied (like Django guides!) so new PvP players have easy access to this great materials

Pitty I’m from EU… But I want to thank you anyway for thinking about us new sPvP players and trying to help. I’ve been learning a lot by reading guides on this forum and asking for advice in game… If it weren’t for other players like yourself I don’t think I could enjoy PvP as I’m begining to do

Oh, I also wanted to ask if this workshop is going to be recorded and uploaded on youtube or a similar site. It’d be great for us new PvP players who cannot be in the workshop this saturday.

Really need to ask this… Is this and the other Django guide going to be stickied, either alone or merged? (Or is some dev going to post this kind of information in a new sticky post?)

I think this can be really helpfull for new PvP players

Maybe this and the other guide that Django wrote should be compiled into one post and stickied (leaving out possible outdated info, of course). I think that could help new PvP players

Oh, I was looking for more Django guides but couldn’t find them. Thanks for the bump, Chaba! (And, of course, thank you Django for this guide!)

Yeah, this guide is very helpfull. I’ve been playing PvE with some casual hotjoin PvP mixed in. I didn’t want to play more organized games of sPvP because I feared being a nuisance to my team. Now, thanks to the sticky “New to PvP? Start here!” and this guide I’ve been able to play 2 solo arena matches without utterly sucking (And thanks to the tips my team mates gave me when I told them I was new to arenas and asked for advice). I have to say both matches were really fun. 1 won, 1 lost, the second one being an awesome game (500/497).

I think this kind of guides should be stickied (By the way, thanks for the bumps. I hadn’t seen this guide before). And last, let me ask something… is there any site/wiki/whatever with all this sPvP info available (and updated)?

Venn diagram summary of forum feedback

I wholeheartedly agree with OPs diagram. The dungeon is fine – Its great to have hard content too. The problem (in my opinion) is that it’s temporary… I’ve been doing final exams since the 4th of June but I managed to get all the non-dungeon achievements by playing when I could find some time, but I wouldn’t have been able to complete this dungeon if I had not been lucky enough to find a group that was stuck with 4 people in the last fight.

After that I tried to do the whole dungeon, but everytime I was unable to get past Frizz even though I usually was the last one standing.

I’d be nice to hear what the devs think about it. I think the OP did a nice job summarizing the feedback
