Just wondering what exactly is “one time” here today.
Is the “one time event” the actual defense of the invasion? Where you are fighting and or helping to defend LA?
Or is the “one time event” the cinematic like it was in Halloween?
Cause if I am missing a cinematic then while disappointing is ok since I can watch it later.
But if I am missing an actual event where you are doing stuff like fighting beasts and helping to stop an attack….that is a little more disappointing.
By that I mean, do I have to complete all of act 1 in order to participate in Act 2? And so on?
Ahh I see….so you cannot earn candy corn from the costume brawl then?
I keep reading that there is an NPC called Bobby in Lions Arch that allows you to do costume brawling……where exactly is he?
Also how do you earn candy corn from costume brawling?
So I have been playing with a confusion focused Mesmer build.
The goal of it is to get as many stacks of confusion on a foe, combined with retaliation, and make it so that every time they hit a skill they take heavy(-ish) damage.
So I had a few questions:
1) Is there any way to increase the damage confusion does? Whether it be power or condition damage?
2) Does confusion deal damage every button press or every time the aflficted does damage?
3) More focused on the shatter skills…..when I use Cry of Frustration how many stacks of confusion are applied and why is it that sometimes my illusions wont run towards my target and just shatter where they are?
Gotta say I disagree.
1) You can set a skill to be your auto attack skill with ctrl + mouse 2 for the kits.
2) I am currently running a bomb/grenade focused spec that will WRECK players. Not only are my attacks 1500 range, but thy are AoE as well.
I find a perch and toss my nades, then when they start to come after me I lay a mine at my feet which knocks them back. By the time they recover and charge back in they arrive just in time for my bombs to go off in their face. After that I use the “Big ’Ol Bomb” skill for ANOTHER large knockback followed by more nades and when they come back in more bombs.
I am having a blast with that setup (pun intended)
3) My other spec before that was a rifle spec that was also pretty killer. I had an UNBUFFED crit chance of 57%. When I used the goggles utility skill I gained fury (Which boosted me up to 77% chance) and with the tool belt skill for it my target got an instant 10 stacks of vulnerability. After that drink elixir U for quickness and net shot them in place. Then I just go to town on them with my hip shot. As the buffs and stuff wind down I jump in close for a boosted blunderbuss attack.
Overall I am liking then enginer atm. Rifle gives me nice damage both in bursts and consistently. And bombs are just heck of a fun time. With all the knockbacks and AoE.
Dont get why people keep harping on theives…
For the pistolewhip attack I simply dodge out of the way after the stun. If they have quickness or immoblize then I use a stun breaker like rocket boots. I can usually survive a pistol whip attack though and heal up after it.
For heartseaker…..just dodge. They may get 1 or 2 hits in….but if I know they are going to spam it I just dodge as it comes in and usually dont have to worry after that since they dumped all their initiative.
Eh I could see an auto attack for say the flamethrower, elixir gun, and tool kits.
But….I dont know if that would work for grenade and bomb kits.
I mean…how would auto attack work for a bomb kit?
When I am using my bomb, grenade spec I actually dont miss auto attacks. I throw around 3 grenades that each do AoE damage and I can drop a group prettykittenquickly.
If grenade had an auto attack it would likely just be throwing one maybe two grenades at the target enemy, and they would likely not do AoE damage as well.
Part of the fun is running in and spamming the 1 skill to drop grenades right at your feet and decimate a group.
The counter attack for the spear is killer though. Its like nine attacks at once.
You certainly pull out a lot of %s without any back up….
I dont have a vid or anything but I have been really liking a rifle build as of late.
30/30/0/0/10
With 6/6 Eagle runes I have an UNBUFFED crit chance of 57%
Thus I took all the crit and “on crit” traits I could and all the +damage stuff as well.
I have elixir H, elixir U, rocket boots, and utility goggles
Use the Analyze toolbelt skill and the goggles together along with the elixir U for quickness…..and thats some find damage. 77% crit chance each shot
In addition its pretty good sustained as well. With the range boost my rifle 1 skill is a 1200 ranged attack with a 57% chance to crit.
Not too shabby imo.
So I was trying out a condition damage focused thief spec and maxed out the thievery and deadly arts lines and was wondering where to put my last points when something caught my eye:
Shadow Arts trait V: Gain 2 initative when using a skill that stealths you
Thievery trait XI: You receive 4 initiative when using a heal skill
Which got me thinking….
What if I got these 2 traits and then took Hide in Shadows (heal + stealth) and Shadow Refuge (Heal + Stealth AoE)
Would each of these skills give me 2 initiative from Shadow arts then another 4 from Thievery?
In fact when I tried to test it is seems each puls of Shadow Refuge was giving me 2.
Ever since the opening of the Trading Post, my friend has begun accumulating his wealth through trading.
Can you guess what he does in real life? >.>
Janitor?
If you dont find this happening it may be beacuse you are clicking to fast.
If you spam the skill OR you use it out of range OR you use it on a blocking/evading target then yes, all it will do is port you next to them.
However if you actually hit a target with it (not that hard) then you will steal a skill.
The GW2 wiki has a list of spells that can be stolen, and yes the spinning axes are a killer skill to steal (doing great damage and being a whirl finisher) which is why I always steal from warriors if possible.
Despite being “squishy” (I have seen mesers that can take a few hits) their defense comes from their illusions……believe it or not its actually pretty hard to tell which one is the real one if they have a lot out. You need to pay attention to things like odd movments, dodges, skill animations and such to pick out the right target (kinda like Assassins Creed)
Personally I find them enjoyable.
I have so far gone extesivly in sPvP with 2 builds
1) Greatsword and Sword/Pistol
I get the Greatsword and Pistol CD reduction traits and I pick up the “+4% damage for each readied matra” talent. I think pick all matras for my 6-9 skills. In addition to the “+3% damage for every active illusion” trait I can hit quite hard.
1) Staff and Scepter/Torch
Pure condition and boon duration/damage build. Load them up with conditions then sick your illusionary warlock at them. If you really up your condition damage and duration your DoTs become VERY deadly
How long does it take to get out of comabt?
I am just happy that I get XP from crafting.
I always used to find it a chore while leveling since I was not progressing my level.
Originally I was filling buy orders, but I forgot there’s a million or two people looking through the Trading Post and switched to sell orders and every highly traded commodity sells very quickly.
Agree 100%. I almost never blindly fill buy-orders or sell-orders, when I’m using the TP. You can almost always put in a custom order, and make some extra coin. I’ve been finding they’re filled before I have a chance to switch over to the pick-up tab.
Care to elaborate on that a bit?
How is putting in a custom sell or buy order better?
I mean…..if the lowest copper ore is selling for 20c…..why would I place anything lower or higher? Any lower and I lose out, any higher and I dont sell.
Ditto for buying, although there I can see putting in a buy order for a lower amount than the lowest selling one and hoping someone bites.
So I was making a build focused on those target Backstab crits from behind, and Pistol Whip hits and had a few questions:
1) Do +X% damage on next attack buffs get applied to EACH pistol whip hit, or just the first?
2) Any tips on actually timing signets to proc on the attacks you want? For some reason I keep wasting them on “auto attack” skills when I want to specifcally use it for my backstab or Pistol whip attacks.
Not sure, I have been testing them all out, cause like I said I cant find one that I am good at yet.
Currently I am trying out the staff with the +radius trait to kinda cover cap zones in AoE attacks
Just wondering if any had advice on builds and tips for playing an Ele in PvP (mostly sPvP atm)
For some reason I just cant quite nail down a srat as well as I could with my thief and Mesmer.
