Hey guys! I just wanted to wish everyone Happy Holidays and show you a drawing of my character (a sylvari named Luminesta) in the spirit of the season. As I was drawing this, I started to think, man it would be nice if we had our own home instance’s and have the abillity to decorate our house’s in a holiday fashion. Take note of this A-net, we need some home instance’s soon and bring out some cool decorations for them when the holiday’s come around. Anyways, as I said before, Happy Holidays to A-net and to my fellow players.

I have 30-20-20-0-0 with specs in poison’s, 5% damage in both duel and p/p (witch makes it 10%), with other specs in stealth. Skills wise I use venoms/poisons (while switching it out with blinding powder when I need it) with shadow refuge and hide in shadows for healing. The elites I use are dagger storm and thief’s guild, alternating between the two when needed. My alternate weapon is a mix of shortbow for the aoe, swaping it out with d/d for when i want to up close.

I’ve been using this build for about 2 and a half months and it works great for pve, wvw, and dungeons (at least for me anyway). I may not have much hp (its alittle obove 12k), but my specs in toughness keep me alive.

I’ve been on HOD sense the begining and just started doing WvW 3 weeks ago. I’m glad that I waited to do my map completion there instead of doing it when we were dominating all the time with the help of the TA guild. I really felt like I earned my world completion with all the battles I had to do to get to those poi and vistas, it was great. I’ve been in some epic fights from both BP and SF.

I will never leave HOD, no matter how small are server may be. We have some great people here and i’m sure you guys do as well. Lets continue having fun for the rest of the week.

I might be a minority here but I’ve stuck with D/D, P/P thief sense beta and it works well for me in both pve and wvw. Maybe people least expect a P/P thief running around in wvw (I don’t know lol) but I’ve gotten plenty of kills in before I go down (I’ve taken 2 invaders at a time before). It would be nice however if P/P had one aoe skill, cause thief’s don’t have much for aoe other then the bow. Anyways, with practice, a P/P thief can do well in both pve and wvw.

I haven’t tried pvp yet tho, so I can’t vouch for that yet.

Hey Halcyon, I have had the same issues. I don’t know if this will help you or not but it seems to have worked for me so far (knock on wood). I did the delete dat folder thing that Anet suggested but I also noticed something else that I found odd when I went to the graphic settings in game. The textures setting was blank when I clicked auto detect ( this seems to be some glitch that I’ve noticed lately when I tinker with the graphics settings witch can be fixed by manually clicking it).

Anyways, after I fixed that, I played the game for about three hours with no cyan and yellow color boxes and no crashing. I went to various zones to do my daily and spent my last 2 hours doing wvw. My game almost always crashed (with the graphical artifacts) every 5 to 10 mins doing this before. So remember to check your graphical settings to make sure that none of the entry’s are blank and, as you already know, delete your dat folder to see if that helps.

If this don’t help you, I hope your issues get resolved soon.
My card is a gtx 560 ti by the way.

I realy wanted to enjoy this event, I realy did, but there was way to many dc’s, lag and the inabillity to log back in for me and others that made it very uninjoyable. Missing out on some nice loot kinda sucks to. I love this game, but this Lost Shores event left a very bad taste in my mouth. I hope that Wintersday won’t be as bad.

For me, its gotten worse, can’t even play for more then 10 secs.

its the same for me as well, can’t even play the game for 10 secs without a dc from server or a crash. This is such a pain.

I have the same issues with the cyan colors, the map gliching and the crashing going to extreme levels latly sense the start of this lost shores content. I want to play, but its unbarallbly frustrating.

I’m in the same boat. I live in VA and its gonna hit sometime at noon monday and last a few days. Its a given that we will lose power for who knows how long, so i may or may not be able to do act 4.
