Looking for a mature NA guild

in Looking for...

Shandalar Al Tambol.9683

I’m looking for a mature (30+ age) guild in North America (East coast preferred) with active players. I’m primarily PvE, tend to avoid PvP and WvW.
I have 5 yrs of playing Guild Wars and 3 yrs of Guild Wars 2. I’ve completed all of the Living Story lines with 9 characters. I was an officer in another mature guild until they basically started falling apart due to management issues.
I have 4 main characters that I’ve used for up to lvl 100 fractals and although they are Raid spec’d, I’ve only gotten 9 Legendary Insights due to attempts with other than my main guild and I would like to do more Raiding….
I am NOT an expert in all professions and don’t memorize every aspect of the characters, but I enjoy playing for the sake of playing.

Can we have tags for Lieutenants?

I really don’t think that placing marks over a lieutenant is the way to go. The lieutenant is not an object or location, and I think to assume so demeans the lieutenant position. This shouldn’t be that difficult!

The concept of the Lieutenant is great, but if the Lieutenant is to lead a sub-squad group, it would be nice to know where the Lieutenant is. Naturally you would need to distinguish between the squad commander and the lieutenant, so, what about putting a number on the tag, maybe even with a slightly different shape, but the same color as the commander.
There is a separate tag for the mentor, now please make one for the lieutenants!!

Thanks

A serious error.Failed to load proc=agsDeInit

in Bugs: Game, Forum, Website

Shandalar Al Tambol.9683

For several weeks I’ve been dealing with support about an error dialog box that I get every time I logout of GW2.
The error complaints that it can load Proc=agsDeInit in Dll=amd_ags_x86.dll because it can’t load the dll.
The amd_ags_x86.dll is part of the AMD Graphics Services development tools, and it is not part of any runtime environment.
It has been difficult getting support to acknowledge this, but I believe they finally have, and they’ve asked me to post this in the forum.
They have also stated that is should be fixed in a later patch.
Anyone else having this problem should probably post a message acknowledging that this is not a one off error……
Also note if you’ve discovered a temporary fix.

Elite Specializations - add, not replace

in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

Shandalar Al Tambol.9683

Ok, I’m now noticing that the 3rd trait block has a design pattern around the area. I would “assume” that this is where Anet has meant for Elite Specializations to specifically go.
With forward thinking, this may make sense that this was part of the plan. You may either have a basic or elite specialization in that block. If we assume what you state, that there may be other elite specializations, then only 1 elite specialization may be active at a time (in the pattern encircled block)

Elite Specializations - add, not replace

in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

Shandalar Al Tambol.9683

It would seem, particularly with the rumored “cost” of Elite Specializations, that Elite Specializations, like Elite Utilities, should be an additional specialization, not a replacement specialization. It’s bad enough that we can’t pick and choose our traits from the original 5 trait characteristics that we are now limited to choosing from 3.
Soon we will be expected to be getting the Elite Specializations, which will be great, BUT, we’ll be losing another set of traits as well.
I realize that this may give an advantage in WvW or PvP, but as has been done in the past, make the Elite Specializations available exclusively for WvW and/or PvP if not already equipped in PvE.

Only 2 mastery points during BWE #3?

in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

Posted by: Shandalar Al Tambol.9683

Shandalar Al Tambol.9683

Not exactly sure why in the announcement, there is talk of experiencing the Mastery systems, ( We’re continuing to look for feedback on what it’s like to progress and earn Masteries over the course of multiple days of gameplay in the jungle and how it feels to use those Mastery abilities in the area provided. ) then limiting the available Mastery to Gliding and Itzel Lore (Mushrooms) and disabling all the Master Point locations so that only level one of these Masteries are available, when all levels were available in open beta 1 & 2.

Ranger Pets Bugged [merged]

Without this getting fixed, my perfectly well equipped ranger becomes an unwanted party member for certain dungeons and fractals due to the inability to control the actions of my pet aggroing when he should be avoiding. Taking away the ability to pull enemies using a ranger seems quite contrary to the purpose of having a ranger with the capability of extended range bows. PLEASE FIX!!! You’ve obviously got a long list of rangers that really need this fixed. Add me to that list, lol!!!

Had same problem( Guild chat not working, “Not in a guild”). Switched to represent personal guild, and it worked, then switched back to main guild. Did a couple of times. Also logged out and back in a couple of times. Finally just started working, not sure why!!!

Also, the switching chat tabs also makes guild chat text disappear. Confirmed with other members of guild as well.

Living World

in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

Posted by: Shandalar Al Tambol.9683

Shandalar Al Tambol.9683

It is interesting that there was absolutely no mention of the Living Story, other than that the LS lead up to this expansion. Maybe that was “enough said”, no more living story!
This would be too bad, since the Living Story gave “life” to Guild Wars 2 and something to look forward to in a continually changing world. The new Maguuma Jungle will certainly give players something to do for awhile, but for just how long is anyone’s guess. Along with everyone else, we’ll see………

20 Slot Fractal Uncommon Equipment Box

in Bugs: Game, Forum, Website

Posted by: Shandalar Al Tambol.9683

Shandalar Al Tambol.9683

It seems that this box is not separating the blues (Fine) from the greens (Masterwork). It is unclear what this uses to determine what is “Uncommon”. Since there is a Rare and Exotic version of this box, it is assumed that “Uncommon” would mean just below “Rare”, i.e. green or Masterwork. Please add a better description as to what is considered “Uncommon” that will be placed in this Equipment Box

Ascended Accessories-"There can be only one!"

I’m glad to see that everyone seems to expect that everyone else is supposed to “intuitively” understand “Unique”. Frankly, I didn’t even notice the depiction. Wasn’t looking for it. Didn’t know it ONLY applied to rings and earring/accessories. This is a GW2 only distinction. I don’t play the other games some of you talk about, and it didn’t apply in the original Guild Wars. My point still is that when sold it should at least remind you that you can only use one at a time.
Thank you all for telling me the now obvious. To those that have shown at least some understanding, thank for that even more.
Guild Wars 2 has subtleties that are easy to miss. You really shouldn’t have to read the entire wiki to play, or purchase, or to use. And there certainly should be a way to correct a “mistake”. The policy of “no refunds” is a joke. WHAT ARE THEY REFUNDING, it’s just AI, it doesn’t cost ArenaNet a cent, but it did cost me a month of work.

Ok, after working hard on my dailies I’ve earned enough for my 1st two ascended rings. Thinking that I might need more defensive then offensive protection, I first buy a Crystalline Band. When I earn 35 more laurels, I buy a second Crystalline Band.

I’ve been wearing my 1st Band, thus it’s soulbound, but I also have other rings, which I happen to be wearing when I put on the second Crystalline Band, thus making it soulbound. When I try to put on the 1st Crystalline Band, it won’t let me.

After searching around for an answer, I find:
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/List_of_ascended_equipment
.
.
Note: You can’t equip two identical ascended rings, but you can equip the “normal” version of the ring and its “Infused” version at the same time.

Gee, that would have been nice to know that the rules of wearing accessories changed for ascended accessories. AND since the rings are soulbound, I can’t use on another character. THUS, I’ve wasted 35 laurels and a months worth of dailies on a ring I can’t use. IF such a restriction needs to exist, then the accessories should at least be account bound or a way to “exchange” a defensive ring for an offensive ring.

I understand that IF I would have read the wiki FIRST I would have known this, but why is it necessary to read the wiki to find out that there are special limitations being placed on new equipment? Now I’m out the 35 laurels AND an ascended ring!!!

Dungeon Patch Discussion 1/28

in Fractals, Dungeons & Raids

Posted by: Shandalar Al Tambol.9683

Shandalar Al Tambol.9683

I haven’t read all of the replies, nor am I an avid dungeon runner, but the dungeons I have been in have bosses that, if an ally attempts to rez a fellow player, the likelihood of that player also dying is greatly increased. If multiple players attempt to rez to decrease rez-time, the likelihood of the entire team getting wiped is greatly increased. Naturally, if the entire group is wiped, the boss is reset, and we have to reset. Now the team has armor damage, and DP. Gee golly, if the team couldn’t get the boss before, how the heck will it succeed now. I appreciate that Phase 2 will be looking closely at the bosses and the need for res-rushing, but like others have said, Phase 1 and Phase 2 should be implemented at the same time. Don’t take away the only possibility of a “noob” group succeeding a killing the boss without getting the whole team wiped.
So called “expert” dungeon runners will not balk at removing res-running, they know how to kill the bosses effectively, but new dungeon players don’t know and will likely be killed quickly, and the rest of the team will go down trying to res the fallen comrade.

Many players complain that res-running makes the dungeons too easy. Okay, then give the option of turning on res-running or off, with off granting more rewards (easy or hard mode), thus giving less experienced players a chance to learn better strategies, learn from their mistakes, not weaken the entire dungeon just to not allow or require res-running.

Magic find

in Players Helping Players

Posted by: Shandalar Al Tambol.9683

Shandalar Al Tambol.9683

I’ve spent 10-20 gold buying/crafting Exotic Explorer armor and Exotic Explorer Jewelry (combined magic find +~112% plus 30% from Omnomberry Bar; total ~142%). I just completed two 1/2 hours tests using this Explorer set vs complete Exotic Berserker Armor and Exotic Berserker Jewelry. This test was run in Frostgorge Sound below Glacial Collapse where the Minotaurs roam.

Results:
Explorer vs Berserker
Vials of Potent Blood: 20 vs 26
Hoofs : 18 vs 24
Filthy Hides : 0 vs 4
Misc. White armor/weap: 8 vs 8
Misc. Blue armor/weap: 2 vs 0
Misc. Green armor/weap: 0 vs 1

I would have assumed that the ratios of drops would have been significantly improved with the Explorer armor, but it obviously wasn’t affected at all. Although I didn’t count that kills in each case, and I would certainly expect more kills with the Berserker armor/jewelry set; the ratio of drops did not improve with the Explorer set.

Why even have the magic find atribute if it doesn’t do anything????

Can’t believe that after 3 months, this still isn’t fixed. Even worse, I can’t believe that I trusted the developers to get it fixed after the Lost Shores event. And I really can’t believe after having one of my avatars get this bugged event, I tried again (had to ask for a ride from someone else first time I got bugged) The above fix didn’t work for me. I’ve tried LOTS. This bug seems to appear after your first character does it successfully; at least that’s what happened to me, worked once then never again on other avatars.

Retract previous. I removed everything and added one at a time and indeed when I add the 1st piece, an additional 25 precision was added, and on the third piece an additional 50 precision was added, etc.
Sorry for the previous post, but it did get me to recheck. The runes ARE working!!!

Superior Rune of the <class> Bug

in Bugs: Game, Forum, Website

Shandalar Al Tambol.9683

I have 4 Superior Rune of the ranger and it says I have 10/6 in RED.
If I add up the precision points for the armor piece, and then remove the armor, Precision only reduces by the amount of Precision built into the armor, not the precision that I should have with the rune. The RED is probably indicating that there is an error and NOT adding the precision of the runes. After spending 1.9 gold on each one and likely getting zero advantage, this is NOT good. Could someone please verify or fix this problem. I have also submitted an ingame support issue on this.
