The content isn’t going anywhere. The reason some suggest leveling a character naturally first is because, often, taking a new Boosted character into end-game content results in frustration, and many defeats. There’s plenty of time to level a character to 80 before the expansion drops.

Try using the trial in The Silverwastes to get an idea of what to expect. If you do fine, go ahead. If you have difficulties, try leveling normally.

Again, the choice is yours. Good luck.

How do I access the trial in The Silverwastes? Do I just use a boost? Also, how long do I have to do a level 80 trial and what all is available in a trial?

I am a bit torn as what to do…. Some are saying to boost, others not. I just don’t want to miss out on the HoT and PoF content. I purchased the $79 PoF edition, just don’t want to feel like I wasted my money. I just started playing as a Guardian and like it so far. My highest is my level 10 Necro. I only have 2 boosts I can use. Thoughts and help appreciated

Necro is more noob friendly with his sustain in pve

that’s not really true, they take some micro management to get a hang of it while staying alive, especially solo.
if anything, the guardian is a more suited beginner profession, healing is plenty and they have heavy armor.

What is a Guardian? Is that a profession for Necro?

first thing you need to know about GW2 is that we don’t call them a class, it’s called a profession.
a guardian is the same as a necro or anything of the sort, a different profession.
if you want to know more, i suggest you read it up:

Ok, thanks for the info! I read a bit about Guardian. Is that a good Profession for mostly Solo play?

What is a good solo class? I usually don’t do groups in MMO games. Don’t have any online friends and such. Thing is, I already purchased the PoF expansion, but all of my Characters are really low level. My Necro just hit level 10 and that is the highest level I have for any of my Characters. I have 2 boosts, but not sure if/when I should use them.

I also suggest just boosting the one. It gives you a trial period to test out the class before fully committing to it, anyway, in case you’re not sure. I, on the other hand, just went fully with my first mesmer because she was a pain to level. For me, it certainly did not lesson my enjoyment, for I now had a character to try everything out on. You don’t get the level-up rewards for boosting, but you certainly get that freedom and the freedom was what I desired. It’s not like you can’t take that boosted character and go mess around in Tyria with. I did a lot of mapping on her, as well as messing around in HoT’s maps.

Ok, thanks for the info
Which Character should I use 1 boost on? My best/favorite are my low level Necro and Hunter. Thoughts and help appreciated

Hi guys. Yesterday, I purchased the PoF expansion and now I have 2 level 80 boosts. Should I use them? I want to be able to do the HoT content (Haven’t done any yet), and also go through PoF content.

My 2 best characters are a level 9 Necro and level 6-8 Hunter. I really like playing as Necro and also the Hunter, but they are low level. Should I use my boosts so I can play the HoT and PoF content?

Thoughts and help greatly appreciated

Ok, thanks for the help and info guys. I do have a Ranger that is low level (About level 5 or 6). Anyway, for a Ranger, how do I get a pet? Right now, I have a River Drake pet, but really don’t remember how I got it.

Also, when I was in Divinity’s Reach, I found a Portal to Lion’s Arch. Was wondering what level I should be at for Lion’s Arch and surrounding areas.

Help on all of this greatly appreciated

Here is what I am thinking of doing: I was going to use the 80 boost I have now and try some of the HoT stuff, then use boost that comes with PoF on another Character. I recently created and played a Human Necromancer a bit and am at level 6 right now. So far, I like the Necro. Thing is, I usually play MMO’s solo. Is GW2 mostly do-able solo play? If I want to play mostly solo, what is a good race and class for that? Thoughts and help on all of this greatly appreciated

If you havent finished HoT story, I would say- start there, if you are of course into lore and stuff like that. But doing so it’s a great way to learn HoT and keeping up with the story which will make sense if you play it in order.
If you are only into PvEing, try start in the first HoT-zone, Verdant Brink. Run around and do events, join other for Meta-events and kill map-bosses.

Ok, thanks so much for info! How do I get to Verdant Brink?

I am planning to get GW2 PoF after release, but have a few questions before I proceed. Most of my Characters are low levels. Is there any content I can do with low level characters in PoF? I do have the Hearts of Thorn Expansion, but I have not done much in it yet, and also have not used the level 80 boost it came with. Should I still get PoF and is it worth getting? Thoughts and help on all this appreciated.

I was going to purchase POF on this site through Digital River? Anyway, I wanted to pay with paypal, but my paypal email address is different from my GW2 email address. Can I do that? When I filled in billing information, I was afraid to click “submit order” button, it didn’t ask me for Paypal login or anything… Help and thoughts appreciated

I am wanting to get GW2 Path of Fire Expansion when it comes out, but have a few questions about purchase:

- Will there be a physical release, or will it just be digital?
- For digital, can I use Paypal as a payment method?

Thoughts and help on all of this appreciated

Where to go/what to do

Hi guys… I am not sure where to go and what to do in GW2. My main Character is a lv 30 Elementalist. I have mainly been going to the “Heart” icons on map and doing those quests, not much else. I am in an area for my level (Gendarran Fields), but seem to get killed easily. Thoughts/help appreciated and thanks

Worth Using Max-Level Boost?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Shane.4023

Shane.4023

I wouldn’t, if your highest level is level 30. I’d try out different professions in the Silverwastes to see what it’s like but save the actual acceptance of a level 80 till later.

Ok, thanks for info
Does the boost item have a time limit?

Worth Using Max-Level Boost?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Shane.4023

I am wondering if it is worth using the Max-Level Character Boost and wanted some opinions on it. I have purchased HoT expansion, but have not done anything in it, my highest character is a level 30 Elementalist. Are there any pros/cons to using the boost? My main concern is not knowing where to go/what to do after using boost. Thoughts and help greatly appreciated on this
