The checkpoints in Tribulation Mode
in Super Adventure Box: Back to School
Posted by: Sharpkiller.8516
Am I the only one who did not know this existed? After having painfully made my way through w1z1 without the use of the checkpoints, I have finally discovered that there are checkpoints. I do not know if I am the only person to not have figured this out from the start, but if not, I think it should be made more clear.
Not all new content is catered towards you. Deal with it.
First off I was stating how overpowered time warp could be if there was no aoe limit as mesmers rotating time warp could give a whole zerg quickness for a very long time.
If a group stacked stealth, then ran around looking for an enemy zerg, then stacked protection, retaliation, swiftness, regeneration, stability, fury, and 25 stacks of might, then bombed the enemy zerg, with quickness, the fight would be over in seconds. Do we want this? I do not.

Am I the only one who does not want zergs to have perma retaliation, stability, protection, regeneration, and 25 stacks of might?
And that is with just 5 guardians.
Or my favourite, unlimited stealth for an entire zerg.
Or if people want to get really crazy bring a ton of mesmers for permament quicknesss.

First, do not just think that lack of coverage is a tier 4 and below problem. SoS has very little NA, while Mag and FA have few oceanics. When they go against the tier 1 servers they get rolled just as hard as tier 4 and below get rolled by higher tier servers.
Secondly, they cannot limit the time that the we are allowed to wvw as this is a game for people around the world who play at different times. If they want to lessen the effect of night capping they have to change the way points are generated, or figure out a way yo disperse the population more evenly.
Why this is a terrible idea
Punishing a server for deaths discourages players from fighting while outnumbered.
With each Living World update a new achievement section is added to the game, filled with easy to be completed achievements that are only to be available for the duration of the particular Living World update. As I see it, any other achievements added during the Living World update do not necessarily need to be easy to be completed and are not necessarily only around for the duration of the particular Living World event. Belcher’s Bluff can still be completed at anytime, and they have stated that the Queen’s Gauntlet will be coming back at some point as well.
Why is it that players who only pve complain constantly about having to get map completion on the 4 wvw maps, while the players who only wvw never complain about having to get map completion on the 20+ pve maps?
If there was no time limit, every fight, including Liandri could be done way too easily with a bunker guard. The time limit prevents people from playing it too safe.
One example of why it would not work. With this system tier 2 would look like TC,DB and FA. The following week it might be SOR, DB, and SOS. So there would be a guarantee a tier 1 server would fight a tier 3 server every other week.
To your point about the gauntlet , in order for Anet to release challenging content, it cannot be accomplished by any build. If Liandri were to be possible to beat with a mace shield guardian using signet of resolve, pain inverter, technobabble, radiation field, and summon golem power suit, with full carrion, than it would be way too easy for a decently made build.
About your gold to gem conversion rate problem, buy gems.
Whenever somebody says that you need a particular class, they never mention the same classes. I know people have beaten it with all different classes and builds, and I think Anet did a great job of creating a boss that is difficult but can still be beaten with a wide variety of builds.
Personally I have beaten Liadri with both a glass cannon p/p thief, and a tanky s/f guardian, and it was much easier for me with guardian.
Challenge Accepted.
Jk. Although if someone could that would be awesome to see.
I knew that would be the first comment; too bad it did happen.

So, after getting the Light up the Darkness I decided to try to beat her with the no endurance gambit on. Beat her first try. So it is definitely possible with all classes, even those with no vigor.
To be honest it’s really all about practice and learning where the orbs spawns and the patterns of the red circles. Once you know that dodging becomes way less important. My only near calls came from not being able to dodge Liadri attacks, not the aoes.
I also think this would make a great achievement to add, if the gauntlet remains in the game and more achievements are added. I think it proves how great of a job the developers did with this fight, as many people are complaining how impossible it is, but if you know what you are doing, you can complete it without dodging.

An exploit is the misuse of a software feature or bug in a way that allows a player to generate in-game benefits without the risk or time expected by the game’s designers.
I guess this is up for interpretation, but I do not consider it a misuse of a software feature as we are killing him as designed by the designers.
Similarly, farming the pavillion was not an exploit when it first came out. The drops were just too much, so the had to lessen the amount of money you could make.
What they should change, is that once you are dead you can’t get any more points. Currently, the person with the most points is whoever dies first because it is much faster to accumulate points when you are dead. If they make this change than the person with the most points will either be the person who survived the longest, or if they just camped in a corner the whole time, the person with the most kills.
Ok, let me rephrase your initial statement so that it is actually true.
It is too hard to earn gold in this game if you do not do dungeons (cof p1) or world bosses. The fastest ways to make money in this game are too easy and require no skill. I enjoy aspects of the game that require more player skill such as tpvp, wvw and fotm but these are all incredibly unrewarding and I am left broke, while others are lazily making thousands of gold farming cof p1.
Now this is a valid complaint, not that you can only (lol) make a few gold an hour farming cof p1 compared to the elistist (lol) groups that can make a lot more.
If they get rid of the aoe limit this would have to apply to both defensive and offensive skills as to not make support classes useless compared to damage classes. As a result a zerg could easily maintain constant 25 might, retaliation, stability, as well as have so much healing and condition clearing the zerg would not even have to attack as the opposing zerg would kill themselves from retaliation. If you find the current wvw meta boring imagine one where the best tactic involved never attacking your enemy.
That fight was far from even in terms of number.
At least you admit to zerging us with twice our numbers.

If you were to ask an ele that they could have a 1s cooldown on air attunement swap, but they would would lose a utility skill, they would prefer what they have now. Especially since all they would gain would be a F2 skill that gives for example swiftness or vigor, but would have to trait 30 into air for any of the air skills to be decent, and the auto-attack damage would be lowered.
I don’t get where this idea that tier 1 guild bounties can’t be completed with a small guild is coming from. From experience it requires 6 people to have a high chance for success with a tier 1 bounty. My guild will be able to do guild treks today, and I would assume they can be completed with a small group as well. So, I think the training mission is a great way for smaller guilds to amass influence to unlock the guild missions.
I have heard that the recipe for this is 5 vials + 3 globs + 1 shard + noninfused ring = infused ring. Is this the only recipe? For example 2 shards + noninfused ring would make sense to me given that 5 vials = 1 glob and 5 globs = 1 shard. If this is the only recipe, are we supposed to repeat low level fractals? That would be ridiculous. If I were to have 5 shards, and no vials, I would be unable to make an infused ring. We should at least be given the option to break down shards/globs to 5 of the lower tier.
