After deleting a message i received everything
They’ve locked threads that asked the same questions, this sadly will no doubt follow suit.
yes, i was the op of the locked thread and moderator told me that naming a company member (so taking a short-cut if i’ve understand well) wasn’t helping for getting them the message.
and ckeeton.4907 was there too to ruin a polite thread, pls don’t be a troll.

it’s the concept, the idea behind all theese changes.
Unfortunately i cannot explain everything well cause english is not my native language, but many other players have already pointed out where all this situation will lead, and it’s far away from what GW2 was supposed to be.
No sarcasm at all, just want to know if he still has the power to take decisions since the more comes out from this patch, the more I find GW2 far away from what has been told in theese 5 years of developement and from what the game was before this patch.
Also since he put his face in the manifesto (and blogs and etc…) I find it odd that he doesn’t comment the situation in any way.
I hope the devs start another company, we will be sure to follow it. Nexon is BS as BS could possibly get. I hope in ends well for all the people that created GW1 and 2.

We don’t Mike but I guess you’ve changed your mind.
There’s one thing that really annoys me about all this. In my mind I can’t really picture Mike O’Brien, which is a very clever person, authorizing such an idiotic idea, after he literally put his face in the MMO manifesto.
So the only explanation that seems believable is the fact Nexon creeped into NCSoft and now they are forcing ANet into their business model. I had dismissed this as a conspiracy theory, but ANet’s silence over this issue is making it look more and more real.
If that’s how things are, we won’t get any feedback and they will just steamroll over us.
At the end of the day, it’s the things you say & do that define you. The lack of any meaningful response or communication with the community is what irks me. The rhetoric and misleading information may pull the wool over the eyes of the casual gamer, but for the vocal “minority” (which is growing daily) it’s not working in the least bit.
Regardless of the reasons behind the changes to the game theory, talk to us about it – tell us why you’ve decided to go back on promises and statements you made while designing this game. Communicate with your player base, the ones that are looking for some answers.
That’s exactly what pisses me off…

Once it’s gone, it’s EXTREMELY difficult to rebuild.
ANet, your silence is doing potentially irreparable damage to your reputation. I can almost hear it ticking down.
You guys have to say something MEANINGFUL, not Chris Whiteside’s post, no PR crap, and you have to say it FAST.
I’m telling you, you are hurting your game and therefore yourself in the long run in a way you appearently aren’t fathoming at all.
Recognize that your solution to the “Legendary Wall” issue is much much worse than the problem it tries to solve, and announce your intention to review your decisions NOW.
The community has reacted strongly to your introduction of ascended gear, and it has voiced its concerns for the future of the game and its feelings of betrayal of the pact you had agreed with us in the form of your MMO manifesto.
Now you need to show us that the Manifesto wasn’t just a PR spin, or you will dig a trench between you and your players.

I saw something on Kotaku where Isaiah Cartwright was doing a live Q&A. Someone asked a direct question about vertical progression which he neatly avoided answering properly.
Q: how important for you is vertical progression in GW2?
A: All progression is important to us, we want to make sure our rewards and progression systems hit a spectrum of players and makes everyone feel excited to play the game.
Was hoping to see more on the session but actually it was a pretty lame affair.
How is that avoiding the question? Unless you must be very paranoid. (which may or may not be logical) It’s obvious that they will have vertical progression in the future by the looks of that answer, as well as all other progression.
So how important is vertical progression? Just as important as all other progression.
Try to throw more controversy out of nowhere. Geez
He managed to answer that question without actually saying anything. Yes, that is an information in itself (namely, he didn’t deny that there will be a further vertical progression ).
It really seem that they decided on introducing EQ treadmill after all, but they don’t want to admit it. Perhaps because they know it would mean he end of this game.

The only thing that would turn this around for me is if they add a crafting system that would let people upgrade standard exotics into ascended with a small amount of effort.

Btw i’m a bit disappointed with ANet for a lot of reasons that other people have already explained better than i can ever do.
All i want right now is someone from Anet that can come here and say “ppl, we’re listening to you. All you’ve already done in this 3 month will not be wasted.”
I’m really sad cause for me, for many reasons i will not explain here, GW was more than a game.
Devs and all the ppl working in Anet were become someone who i can trust to make GW2 the heir-at-law of GW, they’ve stood up for it and now they and the good proclaims of 3 months ago have disappeared…
