Same. I can’t do kitten ingame since 2 hours ago. Pain in the kitten . First it was acting like insanely long rubberbanding, starting at 2-3 seconds and progressing until the point where I could basically run across a map with no enemies and no players and not have anything to load to interact with (even though i couldn’t even interact with the few things I could see).

Now I can’t even get into the map, it boots me every time I get to the loading screen from character select.

Seems to be a continuation from the same crap that’s been happening since Nov 8th. That’s when I first started getting DC issues and it’s only gotten worse since.

Hi Cameron, thanks for the update! When you guys announced the HoT fractals update you stated the following:

“The one final step of taking your precursor and transforming it into the legendary backpack is called Ad Infinitum. However, we’ll come back to discuss how that component works—and how it ties into our next steps for the Fractals of the Mists within Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns—in the future. For now, though, I can tell you that just like existing legendary items, players will need to collect components from all over Tyria. To craft each stage of the precursor backpack, players will need to obtain a new salvage item from ascended equipment. And that leads us to our next topic…”

Are you guys going to follow up on this?

The fractals legendary backpiece was originally tied to the Fractals Leaderboards, I believe, and now that that has been pushed until after launch I imagine the backpiece has as well.

You sound like you haven’t killed the first*** boss, not final – as you stated.

And you haven’t got a clue what you’re talking about considering it was very easy to get 10 randoms eager to try out the new raid.

There are 4 mobs. 3 are mini bosses or apparently being labelled trash, but whatever. The first 3 trash were easy to kill and were typical Anet sponge bags. I was a healing druid. I think one person was downed throughout red, green and blue.

Then we had 3 dc’s and for whatever reason we could not replace them as it wouldn’t let anyone in. Maybe it was a bug I don’t know. Other players have said they were able to replace people.

Anyways. We had a go at the final boss and ending up wiping. My criticism isn’t really aimed at the difficulty of the final boss, although it certainly felt very beatable; more the overall inspid and predictable feel of the whole encounter.

But that isn’t really what annoyed me most of all. I just felt the whole instance felt static and lifeless. There was no sense of wonder or awe, or “oh wow we are in the raid!”. You have the 3 coloured Guardians all stacked behind each other in an extremely bland environment. Compare this setting to the majesty of verdant brinks itself and it’s hard to not feel a little disappointed. The trash/mini bosses all have extremely awkward animations and move like they are walking in tar.

I was also irritated by the way we all had to swap from power to condi and back again too, made even more exasperating that you cannot save BUILDS AND GEAR. Honestly, 3 years down the line and you cannot do this simple and much demanded feature that is standard in every AAA mmo??

So yes, i did try it and was extremely disappointed with it. As I have said previously, beating the boss won’t make me suddenly enjoy it more, and I will beat it. No doubt it will be more of a feeling of ok, glad that chore is gone rather than any sense of accomplishment.

There are bigger issues at play than the basic boss or its mechanics. When TA Ather path feels more like a raid than your raid, there is a problem.

Just my opinion.

Not sure why everyone’s gotten so touchy about Anet being criticized, but these are pretty valid points.

Looks to me like he’s complaining about a buggy squad UI (guess what, it’s a beta), lack of personality to the instance (devs have explicitly stated they removed stuff due to spoilers), and a lack of a build preset feature when again, devs have said no such thing is forthcoming. Also build swapping between RGB trash? Not a good sign in the first place, you’ll need both damage types for the final boss, which shows a lack of comprehension of boss mechanics. It’s not Anet being criticized that people are touchy about, it’s a random biased guy railing on the success of others because he couldn’t 7-man the boss with a PUG.

I don’t understand how the devs can make Illusionary Persona and Illusionary Elasticity baseline for mesmers, but force us to choose between the EAs.

PLEASE, PLEASE make a self-only version of Elemental Attunement a baseline functionality for us, and convert the GM version to extend the effect to allies.

This is actually a pretty good idea.

I agree. Do this please, it will solve a lot of anger over the issue.

UI Suggestion for Traits

Both suggestions sound really nice! I’d like to add my own, albeit to the skill track UI. Right now there’s a lot of empty space sitting in a big circle around more empty space with a thin progress bar and tiny icons and numbers. Beef it up a little! If you have the space then use it! I suggest to increase the size of the skill icons to that of regular skills, and to increase the number sizes to fill the gap also. Maybe the circle would have to shrink a little to compensate, but that’s ok! You’re getting rid of the dead space! It just seems like a waste to me to be creating such a beautiful new UI and leaving 90% of it to the background image…

Ok that was a ton of information last night and I’m still trying to get through it all. Not sure where to put this feedback so I’ll stick it here, I guess.

1. How are racial skills being implemented in the new system?
2. How does the antitoxin heal skill come into the new system?
3. How does the new ranger trait Beastly Warden interact with wolf fear? Which takes precedence?
4. Many of the revive trait effects are being changed to the beginning of the revive rather than on successful revival. Why is Arcane Resurrection not following suit?
5. Elemental contingency always seemed weird to me, for a class that doesn’t want to get hit, why only get defense after you’ve been hit? I suggest to instead change the trait to proc on crit (or chance to proc on crit if it’s too strong), as it is in the crit effects heavy arcane line and makes a whole lot more sense as a class.
6. Ferocious winds is a useless trait. As is Zephyr’s speed. The former is a beyond stupid choice, nobody’s going to both need precision and already have healing power. If they need precision, they’ll have it, and if they have healing power, they aren’t gonna want precision. Zephyr’s speed is just way too little. Elementalists have tons of access to swiftness, which negates this skill thanks to the speed cap, and on the rare instance where you don’t have the speed you need, 10% (and only in air, too!) isn’t gonna cut it. Either add something else to these or replace them entirely.

So yeah, that’s what I can think of off the top of my head.

One of the problems with the wallet is that items that go into it aren’t visible when people are looking at their loot. This isn’t really a problem for gold, as it’s not really relevant how many gems or gold people have when out in the field, but it’s a big deal for geodes, because if you have enough geodes you want to buy something before the vendor resets. It’s also a big deal when there’s a new release, because players don’t necessarily know that bandit crests, say, are available, or important.

A simpler solution would be to have acquired geodes/crests, etc… enter the wallet anyway, but have an “item acquired” thing on the right side of the screen just like when you acquire coin or items now. If it works with gold already, that means they already have the system in place to do it with other currencies. Also, if all currencies went to a single place – the wallet – people would know to look there for them. If they add a new one, just put a tooltip in when the player acquires their first new token, saying “hey! you just got one of ______! Use these to purchase items at special vendors located here and here.”

Make tiles smaller, expand number of possible tiles, add a scroll bar, all wallet and currency problems solved forever.

My issue with this layout is that it gets very cluttered very quickly. There’s no overall organisation to it, it’s just a bunch of blocks.

I’ve posted here my possible solution to the issue. I’m well aware that I’m not an artist, but I believe its a simple organisation that would solve many problems and shouldn’t be too hard for the devs to implement…
