Haven’t heard, is hammer confirmed for necro, or just something generally desired?
For WvW Zerg fights, the interrupt for might build, and then tossing out damage based on confusion and iZerker is really good, imo.

i agree with you, confusion is supposed to be the classes forte, but it falls off too quickly to do more than a few hundred damage (even with 25 stacks of might and all rabid gear, as well as a build for confusion.)
No fix this patch either?
Roaming/Scouting I’ll use Mass invis for obvious reasons.
Zerg i’ll take timewarp for mass rezzing, quick stomping, or the occasional speed for golems.
bad link on build
TL;DR: My guild seems to think that mesmer sword #2, Blurred Frenzy, can shield siege from incoming projectiles- i.e. I can blurred frenzy in front of our trebuchet to protect it from incoming enemy trebuchet shots. I’ve tried a number of times, in front of and standing on our siege without luck. Is this possible?
Despite what you guys say thieves are not nearly as versatile as eles.
Eles:
Can heal allies, and choose between doing a lot of damage for little survivability, a medium amount of damage for a medium amount of survivability, or a small amount of damage for a large amount of survivability.Have mobility via one of their utilities and RTL, as well as some degree of swiftness.
Can’t safely rez allies.
Are as noticeable as an elephant walking through a kitchen.
Don’t have the greatest 1v1 options, relative to thieves.
Aren’t able to escape as easily as thieves.
Don’t do as much damage as thieves.
Have cooldowns on attunement swaps and weapon skills.Thieves:
Can’t heal allies very well, but has great self-healing. Does a lot of damage regardless of whether you choose to go light survivability (D/D GC builds), medium survivability (pretty much any sword build), or high survivability (D/P bunker builds). Can also apply conditions better than eles.Have the best mobility in the game, via Shadowstep, IS, IA, tons of dodges, and other weaponset-specific attacks including sShot and sStrike.
Able to safely rez allies.
Are extremely difficult to notice, when spec’d right.
Have stealth, allowing them to switch from the offensive to the defensive (or vice versa) in an instant.
Can 1v1 better than any other class, due to blinds, disabling conditions, high damage, stealth, and self-healing.
Can 1vX very well, simply because they can do a lot of damage in a hit-and-run kind of fashion. With ele, once you get into the fray, you’re not leaving any time soon.
Can escape easily via shadowsteps and stealth.
Hit like a truck.
Are more flexible with weapon skills, due to the init system which gives them the ability to use their favorite skills multiple times in a row.
Ele:
-Staff ele brings fire/water fields for combo finisher equaling big group heals, group might, or area swiftness.
-Scepter Eles for dragon tooth- clearing siege with no line of sight, something other classes can’t do.
-Swirling winds: ability to protect your siege, or whatever it may be from enemy catapults, trebuchets or whatever projectile.
Looking for an open Temple of Grenth today. Thanks for any help

I use 5 superior runes of air and a focus and I do not fall behind anyone. I really don’t think it’s that bad.
Yeah, I also run this combo, but then you’re stuck with using a weapon that others might not normally use. I wish our signet was run speed like almost every other class.
Agree, this needs fixed.
alrighty thanks
The gear:
Main hand sword/off hand torch/Two handed staff (All power/tough/vitality)
Oh? I thought the gear was Sword/Torch?
I’m confused why you chose Dueling III- Retaliatory shield? When would we block? Why not Dueling IV- Sword skill CD reduction?
You only get a pristine relic for the daily if your personal reward level is 10 or higher.
If the current scale is higher than your personal reward level, you receive rewards equal to your personal reward level.
If the current scale is lower than your personal reward level, you receive rewards equal to the current scale and gain karma.
If you were able to receive the rewards in the way you wanted above, then what would be the point of scales? :P
Makes perfect sense. Thank you very much!
Relatively new to Fractals- currently fractal level 3. Still a lot to learn and I’ve read several guides, but I’m still unsure of one thing.
As previously stated, my personal level is 3, but I was with a group just a few minutes ago that completed a level 10 fractal run and killed jade maw.
After the dungeon, I was awarded the daily chest in addition to the dungeon chest. I did not receive a Pristine Fractal Relic. After reading 3 guides, I was under the impression that I would receive a Pristine relic for completing the daily fractal?
Is there a reason I wouldn’t have received one that anyone can think of?
Thanks in advance and have a wonderful day!
Too bad quote doesnt exactly work, but meh:
“Just wanted you guys to know we’re looking at this specifically right now. We will probably bring down the raw spike DPS for some builds, but we’ll be careful to increase other areas to compensate.”
So they might nerf Thief, and then buff their lacking areas to compensate for this. So they could nerf the thief’s burst, but buff our health pool, which is the lowest.
At the end of the day, the question remains, how will people who cry about thieves without learning how to beat them, beat the good thieves that will continue to play because they love the class, and not because it’s FOTM? I myself will always play a thief, even if it’s the lowest on the totem pole because I enjoy the playstyle, as I did with Deception Assassin in SW:TOR. What excuse will you have when the thieves relearn their class and still beat you then?
Learning how to beat a thief isn’t always the case. I just logged off, nerd raging because a thief killed me in less than 2 seconds in spvp on my mesmer. There is no learning curve there. i couldn’t even perform an action before i was downed. Thats not fun for me and although I could imagine how it would be amusing at first for a thief, it would get old quickly, I’d assume.
Greatsword is as viable as any melee, which is to say it’s situational. In the field, during a skirmish there’s usually a constant push and pull between forces until one eventually breaks. When this is happening you tend to get a few people who don’t notice their allies are moving back and you can rush in and take that person out. You just have to be careful that you don’t become that person in the process. This kind of goes for defending a keep as well. If you’re sufficiently tough you can go out the portcullis, hit somebody a few times, and retreat back inside.
As far as ranged goes Warrior may not have the max achievable range but it’s one of the best options for damage. The issue you’re having with rifle is no doubt because of your level and lack of traits and gear. I use a longbow myself and the damage is pretty hefty in bursts. I also feel plenty useful when using a bow. At times I feel like a walking siege weapon.
Right on! That’s what i wanted to here. Thanks for your time and explanation!
Leveling my first character, currently level 40. I’ve dabbled in a bit of everything- sPvP, a dungeon, leveling, as well as WvWvW.
I’m currently using the Rifle/Sword+ war-horn combo and build posted here in the forums. I’m enjoying it, but I’m not feeling much like a warrior with my rifle out more than my blade (speaking in WvWvW situations.)
So I ask, what is WvWvW like at level 80 for warriors. I know there are a lot of options as far as weapon choices, but some don’t seem as viable as others (I’m looking at you Greatsword.) I feel, and I have zero experience at level 80 in WvWvW, that running into battles as melee is suicide, but standing at a distance with my rifle I’m not doing much damage. Does this change? What are my other options? Should i re-roll to a class that can do more damage from a distance like Ranger/Elementalist to be more productive from afar?
This isn’t a QQ or a request for anything to change as far as warriors go, I’m just trying to gain an understanding of what to expect as I get closer to level 80.
Thanks in advance and may the six watch over you.
