considering getting banned for something that has been an issue for a number of day, if not weeks (since WinterFest started), i’d say it’s actually a legitimate concern and not and arbitrary concern like “When can I switch races?”

People said the same kinda things about the karma exploit, and then it was revealed that just a couple of dozen players had bought them in the thousands.

I do agree a punishment is warranted for those “top exploiters”, but banning seems over the top when no statement, response, or even a rollback of the exploiters occurs.

Well with all the ambiguous statements they make regarding legitimate concerns about the game, or the disregarding of questions entirely, you tell me.

I believe them, personally. Show me a large scale, quality mmo that doesn’t have forum posters complaining about lack of communication, ignoring ‘legitimate’ concerns etc, and you can have an internet cookie.

He’s been in there since the pop-up, hasnt booted him yet, so at the very least it’s let him stay in there so far.

O, well that’s good to know. I hardly ever do dungeons. They should just do 3 hour serverwide alerts.

Sounds like you’re making it convenient to bypass NPC’s.

I’d prefer NPC’s patroling the area instead of standing still. If we were to thin out thier numbers and make them respawn slower; we should make them more dangerous and have a larger aggro radius.

I don’t want both, just one or the other. Their aggro radius is already massive, and I’m fine with that. I just want them to respawn slower after I kill 9 of them in a 50m radius OR keep the rates the same, but let me be able to sneak by a few every now and then.

I agree, the 2 hour warning was nice. 3 minutes is kind of a slap in the face, especially when you’re in the middle of a dungeon or a world dragon event

ditto for me munki, server time is Pacific Time, so mine did change

To add to Head’s good information, dragon’s heads in a downed/stunned state (claw after a wall goes down or teq after the laser hit) are low enough to the ground to be targeted by melee. The head will always take more damage, so hit it if you can. Melee are also able to hit the head and foot at the same time with some standard and AoE attacks. Large AoE is able to hit all 3 points at the same time, so position yourself accordingly. If you’re only aiming at the leg during a stunned phase you’re not doing anyone any favors.

agreed. I’d love to see titles for those random achievements you get throughout the game i.e. kill 1,000 centaurs, “Centaur Slayer”, etc.

From what I’ve seen (and heard/read) all servers are either PST for U.S. or GMT for EU. Though I could be very wrong, only been on 3 US servers (all PST server time)

I sense a disturbing amount of fanboy in this thread.

I played WoW for 6 years, from Vanilla through Cata, no breaks, hardcore raider. Gear treadmills tend to speed up thanks to the ‘gimme’ generation. I welcome any change or game that doesn’t hand out loot like it’s frickin’ candy.

At least with this game, skill actually means something and you can’t just sit afk in pvp to earn points for that next set of leet gear just because you’re too lazy/crappy of a player to actually play the game. It also means that casuals will be on par with hardcores stat wise, but there’s still a reason for hardcores to play (mad tight shinies y0)

some people find farming enjoyable, and if you find a decent place to farm mats that are needed for <insert whatever reason here> it shouldn’t be prohibited just because they want to limit bot use.

I know an unpopular, yet useful solution for this would be to have ANet spam a code to the player every hour they seem to be farming and have them reproduce that code back to them within 30 seconds.

I for one welcome a Legendary weapon being actually, well, legendary. This means that every tom, richard, harry and sally won’t be walking around with one. It’ll take time and dedication and when you DO see one, you know you’re gonna be like “DAAAMMMMNNN”. God forbid the ‘gimme’ generation have to work for something of some significance.

Agreed, I’m not even 60 yet and I’m starting to hit numerous glitched out DEs and quests. Might have to work on my alt until their uber patch.

Dynamic Events (DEs) like a mofo. And don’t just leave because one finished. There are many chains that connect to other DEs once you finish the initial, and many lead to killing some uber boss guy that may lead to chest rewards/extra loot and exp. And as the above poster said, gather mats when you can. It’s good exp and once the Trade Post evens itself out, you’ll get some decent moola, or have extra mats for your alts.

I sure hope they add something, even if it’s a long “/script SetCVar(”cameraDistanceMax",30)" deal. I hate having to go to ground level so often to see what’s further in front of me. And considering there’s no first person view, I don’t see why third person is so restrictive.

There is definitely item scaling to your actual level, though it seems to be somewhere around 20% (guesstimate based on my experiences). I have definitely gotten level appropriate gear from lower level zones, though it’s nowhere near as prevalent as the zone level gear.

I agree with this 100%. Way Point cost should be based on the distance you’re traveling, not the level you are when you travel.

try equipping dual pistols and see how that works for you. Once you get the weapon switch option, equip a melee set and a ranged set, it’ll definitely help you out a lot with encounters once you stealth out of shady situations at low health to be able to hit someone at a distance.

Like others said, if you’re getting obliterated, check out your gear for the level you actually are, that seems to be a major factor.

I actually like the de-leveling system because I’m able to go back and help out friends much lower level than myself and still get credit for it without being a major overkill to their experience (and the others around) by participating in the activities. It’s not challenge detrimental to them and it’s not experience detrimental to me.

But yah, I still understand where you’re coming from, though that’s mostly based on experience from every other MMO ever.
