I like the hood, I have an elementalist that uses that in white/red FF White Mage style. Not really digging the purple pants tho, I’d go for a darker colour to match with the red.

Here’s mine, I like the dredge plate armor alot

Hybrid Necro, one step away from a glass cannon, I can take the vet karka’s down just fine and i’m mostly in Yellows.

Learn2dodge?

Really I think for Necros a conditionmancer is bust, and frankly so is someone who goes pure Power/crit. You need to use all the tools provided, High power to for moderate bursting, condition damage for attrition. Death Shroud for survival and while skills are on cool down.

Tho yes I’ll agree, with a guardian I can wack away with a greatsword blindly chugging a beer and win, but the difference in kill time isn’t far removed from that of a Necro

Why do you not WvW?

I prefer sPvp, only because similar to GW1 it’s all about refining your build.

WvWvW is where your class rarely matters unless your one of those few with good ranged AOE and even the, they have cool downs. Everyone is a peon with supply running around dying or building siege equipment. It’s rare there is a battle where your class skills matter and most outcomes are determined by who has siege and supply.

I don’t MIND that, I like the open sandbox map they have created, just wish my character could actually use skills on his bar from time to time. Look at how keeps are designed, people on walls can attack those below, but it’s limited to skills with 1200+ range. People on the ground can’t attack back, which is lame. Why can’t a squad of eles and archers hit those on walls? I know there is barrage, but that is only one skill, and with a long cool down.

If our regular attacks could hit those on walls, and those on walls had more options to attack from walls sieging might be more fun. As it stands now you have two dozen people spam attacking a gate doing nil damage, while 2 rams take it down. I usually just stand off on a hill waiting for the gate to fall, it’s not fun.

The culling is the other reason I don’t play, I have a great computer, and I get 50+ fps even in the thickest of battles, but those invisable army pop ins kill it. I can climb a tower and look out in the distance and see nothing, then BAM army at the gate. Makes watchtower or scouting duty completly useless.

As for rewards, the server rewards aren’t really noticable, maybe an in game annoucement to the entire server what bonuses they are getting because of wvwv might create more interest. Otherwise the only reward is bragging rights, but you can’t do that on the forums, because anet cc mods are over clicky happy :p

As it stands now, I only play for the monthly, and I hate doing it. Maybe if supply rate was increased or if players could carry more supply it would give people more siege toys to play with, might make it better.

debit and credit cards are different. The payment options are also based off your country. In Canada for example you cannot use debit as payment, only credit cards.

In the US I know you guys have banks that pair debit with credit card companies, but not every country does this.

How important are the pets for Necro?

in Necromancer

Only used the Flesh Golem briefly (lich far far better), otherwise ignored pets entirely. If we had a pet ui for them like rangers do with their pets, MAYBE worth using in PVE, otherwise the AI on it’s own causes too many headaches.

The hatchery bugged?

In the future when similar story line bugs pop up, it might be best to give a “content disabled” warning or something.

Similar to others, had I known this path was bugged, I wouldn’t have chosen skritt.

I understand the QA process and what not, and I understand fixes take time, just a number of us could have avoided the show stopper bug if we were warned about the bugged path.

Attributes for a Level 21 Necromancer

As you mentioned, at lower levels stats aren’t that big a deal, so don’t stress over’em.

One benefit of Necro’s is we have the largest base health pool, so stat wise you ignore additional Vit. Toughness is always welcome, but this early on you don’t really need any defensive stats, your base health is fine.

I included the stats I shoot for below, but what you might want to look at is your build and skill choices, as well are you using runes/upgrades on all your gear? Are you using all trinket slots (Amulets, earrings etc). I know on all my chars, when you hit level 20ish you start to feel a pinch if your not using runes and trinkets. Trading Post is your best friend, see if you can find any cheap upgrades for missing items.

I’m running an axe/focus power build, so my choices may be different from yours, I’m sure someone can chime in on right stats for a condition base necro

for levels 1-30 I focused on power/percision, low levels stats don’t matter a whole lot, but paired with matching traits for the most part, power/percision is the focus.

Once you hit 30, and your able to start doing dungeons, start looking at including toughness on some of your rune choices, as well run with toughness/vit trinkets. The rest of your gear again focuses on power/percision.

Later on at level 55 plus, when gear has three stats, you can again dump vit and go for toughness/power/percision trinkets and gear.

If your group keeps their heads calls their target and listens to your tips on bosses it is fairly easy. I ran AC story with two new players last night was as smooth as opening week for us.

I had a pug this morning that was just awful because folks rushed or didnt focus fire

I agree they should be harder, I’d also like to see their spawn times more random. As of now it’s too easy to just farm all three one after another. It’s rare they are more than 40 minutes apart.

It would likely be best when a dragon has a wall up to prevent all damage to them. That would force people on the front line of Teq to go back and take down bone walls.

For Shatterer, the lack of mechanics I think is by design, dragons spaced out at 50, 60, 70, and each one has more and more mechanics to learn. Shatterer is ment for newbies to cut their teeth on and be straight forward.

Greatsword

SicJake.6871

Greatsword is great as is, it’s an AOE wrecking machine when paired with Quickness. It is more on the defensive side with 4 and 5 skills, but on your own in PVE surrounded by a 4-5 mobs those skills shine.

Sucks to be in wvw however, but there are other weapons for that.

Why all the complaints against Northern Shiverpeaks!?

It comes down to organization and gold. Both of which Anvil Rock doesn’t have. If more people on AR would pop on, organize a small force of 5-10 people, support it with some siege equipment, you’d be surprised what you can do in an hour.

Instead people on AR run around like chickens with their head cut off swinging weapons blindly at keep doors. There is a reason our server is going down the list people, get over it.

Once people have finished their PVE story time and move to the real game things will get better. Until then do the server a favor and educate your fellow players why zerging a keep without bloody siege to support it is a waste of everyones time

Pet Frailness

in Ranger

Posted by: SicJake.6871

SicJake.6871

I use an eagle and a raven myself, the key is to swap your birds on cooldown, that gives each a chance to heal up.

In terms of avoiding aggro, two things you can do:

-Deal more damage to mobs (srsly) the more they hate you, the more they leave your pets alone

-Keep them in avoid combat mode, start a mob by taking a few hits yourself, then press F2 for the pet’s ability
to get them to start fighting, they are usualy left alone.

I had trouble keeping track of pets cooldowns early on, what I did was put 5 points in BM, that gives you quickeness for 2 seconds when you swap pets. It’s an amazing buff and since then I keep pet swapping every 15 seconds when it pops.

Greatsword PvE/PvP build in request

I’m running this currently, I’m not a pro or anything, but I find it’s great in PVE. Zephyr quickening buff is great, and with 5 pts in beast line you also get quickening by swapping pets.

I originally started this build to encourage me to pay more attention to my pets, now I swap on cool down without fail, keeps them alive longer, and I get 2 secs of quick, which you’d be surprised how much extra damage you can cause in those 2 seconds.

I’m not really sold on signet of the wild, but haven’t found anything else I rather there. Spike Trap is great solo, but I’d like swap to flame trap for the combo field in a group.
