Since I cant find it anywhere on google or the forums and it is not clearly stated…if i buy the living story season 2 on one character, is it account bound? Or do i have to buy it for each character I make/have? Thanks in advance!!

You must of came in to guild wars really late…guilds were a huge thing in GW1, and it wasnt just the history….Luxon kurzick then the history etc was all a huge part of the first game…factions was nearly dedicated to two different guild factions

I don’t think GW2 was marketed with guild oriented activities in mind, and as far as the title was concerned, it simply symbolizes the game as a sequel to Guild Wars.

Ok, and im not saying you are wrong…I just dont see why this isnt a bigger issue coming up…i mean most of the problems comes from this at its core

Explain to me…cuz apparently I missed something here…besides being able to be in a guild…destinys edge being a guild that even fits in…Guild Wars 1(the good one) had tons of things that went with the idea of guilds… I guess im confused on why multi guilding, and the only thing that is actually a guild specific thing is the missions that ONLY large guilds can do in a time frame that anyone cares about

One of the biggest part of the Guild Wars lore started from something called the “Guild Wars” which marked the beginning of the decline for humanity (Guild Wars speaking). The events that followed it (the Searing, the Cataclysm) was an indirect result of these guild wars.

That’s the lore in which the title of the game is based on. Guild Wars 2 is an extension of that, and since it’s meant to be a sequel not for player guild reasons why shouldn’t it be called Guild Wars 2?

Ok now take the first game…tied into this, guilds mattered to people, rankings for guilds, guild halls that people took pride in during the start….what about guild wars 2 makes it an extension besides some similiar faces…a reference or 2 and the fact that you can join a guild…which is in every MMO its not unique at all.

ok so again…u are saying the only reason it is called guild wars 2 is because of the first game called guild wars…u dont see an issue with this? lol…ima go make a soccer game and call it call of duty i mean it follows the same basic guidelines one team against another…GENIUS!

Everything that has happened of late and what they are doing to small guilds and how people are basically being forced into larger ones for new content comes down to one simple thing that was INCREDIBLY EASY to avoid…

Why the kitten devs decided to let multi guilding in the first place…ive seen a few posts but its always “they target small guilds” them not liking small guilds or w.e their reasoning is, isn’t the issue. Am I one of the few that actually liked the way guilds worked in the first one? My vote change the name from guild wars into something completely different…cuz guilds literally do not matter in this game…no GvG, no halls, i guess u can go into tournament play with ur guildies? But im still baffled by the fact that they actually let you join more than one guild..feel free to rage at me

The achievement is definitely bugged just not in the way you think, you are missing motos breath. But i do have all those stick, slingshot, candle, upgraded bag, bomb, health pot, extra heart, shovel, whip, and motos breath…if anyone knows something im missing do tell <3

Only zone 1 but definitely gets you baubels worth time invested…in end 5 min run…keep in mind this isnt the full thing this is just to get ur skin as fast as possible after you got ur baubel bubbles for the day

Confusion Damage isn’t “doubled” in WvW, It’s unchanged. It’s only in sPvP that it’s changed, and I have not seen a confusion build in sPvP in a long while. Likely being Condition Damage from a mesmer, via staff is highly unreliable. An Engineer does everything they can do, better. (Pry Bar, Pistol 3) and no, I’m not saying Engineer is in a good spot because of it. They could use some buffs.

Confusion isn’t the only thing unchanged either. All runes, Lyssa for example, are not nerfed like they are in sPvP. (Hello all buffs instead of just 3 at half duration) You also have things like Sigil of Generosity (On Crit, transfer condition) which is amazing.

Confusion built mesmers also have to contend with (aside more AoE cleanses) – Food buffs. Lemongrass Poultry can reduce all condition duration by 40%.

In a group WvW situation that’s meaningless, but in a small skirmish, or 1v1 it’s massive. Sure the mesmer can run Rare Veggie Pizza to counteract, and probably is, as it’s the only way to give Confusion a decent duration, but all his other outgoing conditions are obliterated. As they mostly come from clones.

Staff clones, Bleeds now last 3 seconds (From 5), Burning lasts 0.6 seconds (Not enough time to actually deal damage)

When you see a zerg running 5 Glamour Confusion mesmers and Immediately stacking 20 Stacks of Confusion on people, via Null Field, Feedback, and Temporal Curtain (for pulling them back into the effect to put more stacks) is when Confusion gets out of hand.

And again, confusion dmg in pve/wvw got doubled. Read patch note.

On top of that…
1. Never seen 5 glamour mesmers running together. And pretty sure it’s not gonna happen. No one is dedicated enough to devote their build for highly cooperated team play like that and give up their entire solo capability. How many full confusion mesmers have you seen in a random zerg so far? Let alone being glamour build.

2. Again, diversification effect.

I run a full glamour confusion mesmer in WvW, have for a while. I win solo a lot more than I lose…people forget that builds in this game do offer some bonuses but you can have what is considered the “best” build for your class…and still be a kitten player and lose. ex. 100b warriors who mash the keys while someone stun breaks and laughs at them.(not saying 100b is the best just an ex)

On the note of the shatter damage, I say nerf it more but let my clones insta teleport to the enemy and shatter and have a tell on the mesmer(some form of an animation) that give people the time to dodge it, set up blocks, etc.

TBH I find it insulting how you bashed glamour/conf mesmer..if you cant run it or have beaten it that doesn’t mean its lost all of its solo capability and when i run with a zerg seeing those 4k damage ticks on just putting glamour into a fight(with no coordination on my part just spamming it) is great..so in a 1vs1 or where im actually giving a crap where my glamour goes makes it deadly…

so in a one on one say i have my staff and hit them then as it comes back hit mimic, that makes it so im invulnerable until the cast is finished then after i can shoot off two skill 1s?

Only time I really felt the need to go fast in PvE was for SC through CoF other than that my tele plus staff 2 gets me around quite fast. I think i may go with sword because the way i was thinking it is, put pressure on him with swordsman after i put confusion stacks on chaos armor combo the swordsman so regardless its either stand still and let the swordsman get off multiple attacks or kill him in 2 hits but take mass confusion damage from the 2 hits. Now I want to ask just to make sure, swordsman benefits from Precision correct?

Thanks for posting! maybe i said it wrong in my post, I love confusion on the scepter for WvW and have timed it right for pve that I do to make it effective also. Sword on the mainhand wasnt something I necessarily wanna do it was more of a (as you stated in ur post about confusion) is that people dont pay attention but given enough time and deaths to a conf mesmer im sure anyone would put 2 and 2 together ya know? Thanks for your input though, mind telling me what you think of dropping the focus for an offhand sword PvP and PvE wise. THANKS!

Currently doing a 20/0/0/20/30 build on my mesmer with rabid gear to maximize confusion and try to stay alive. Weapon is Staff/scepter/focus. Now what i was curious on is rabid gear you arent getting much use from the precision its the CD and Toughness that you are wanting. with 20 in our first trait, i was thinking of dropping the focus for a sword..or if anyone else would think itd work and can explain why my scepter for a sword.

Pros for sword on main hand: Clone/switch/immobilize/cripple which can keep them in glamour field, An invuln with good crit because of rabid gear, and the fact that with all the toughness i already have I can stay in their face for a little bit until switch

Cons for sword on main hand: Lose the 3 on scepter to stack confusion, no clone generation, and i lose a counter/blind where as i have it to whenever i blind they get confused.

Now for offhand sword, its no secret that confusion exist, and if someone isnt paying attention is a hard nuke….but anyone with skill will wait out the confusion, so a good mesmer would counter this by making him either take damage while just standing there or take confusion damage.

Pros:Has a block/clone summon or a daze, phanstasmal swordsman to do good damage AND while confusion is stacked keep pressure making them choose what damage to take and either way u are getting closer to your goal of killing them.

Cons: Lose speed up/slow down and pull from focus(with my traits also causes confusion/blind if put on top of them) and I lose a reflection/slight damage phantasm that if put out at the right time can completely change a fight.

Im very on edge about these as I feel once everyone wises up to confusion we will need other pressures to make them look silly =P(I also realize we have other pressures to add to them with staff/shatters/etc etc just trying to think of something to keep really hard pressure and be something they can choose to kill) for ex. 2 hits for swordsman+chaos armor while at 10-12 confusion can ruin someone squishy and pretty badly hurt someone on the tankier side.

Dont mean to start a fight about what skills are better, just put ur input here thanks for reading!

Ive been trying really hard to make mimic viable on my mesmer, ive gone into games and tested it with friends of each class, tried different weapons, and they tried different utility. It seems only some projectiles are actually considered projectiles by mimic. Also I tried looking it up wiki says it reflects so you dont actually get to hold it? Have yet to hold onto a spell for even .5 sec…can someone explain this skill for me please thanks!

I won’t be doing any of them, because my guild has only a few dozen members.

I guess that’s it.

I like this response…very simple and makes the biggest point of all. Smaller guild just gives up on the new content…so now they wont achieve the new content…which then now makes the game in theoretical terms a dead game that no longer gave an update UNLESS u join a guild where ur considered by the influence u earn and are nothing to them if you leave.

What I can’t figure out is why no one has brought up a huge argument to shut up the people who keep saying “suck it up”

Let’s look at the patch, what would everyone consider the main part of the patch being? Also what is considered to be the new content for the game? Yes a few things were added to do in pve that take all of half an hour to do so what’s left? Guild missions that in terms of time to actually enjoying a game, small guilds will never achieve. It’s as simple as small guilds don’t get NEW content so they are therefore missing out on the game. lets say my guild of 8 active and 2 semi active members decides to grind out to do the missions, we need to go down art of war ok 1 tree while useless to us doable. Ok so we did all that and did some guild missions but wait now to do other content we need to other trees that we now neglected to go down the aow tree. Also while we strictly farm for these upgrades we are losing time to farm other stuff, what if I want a legendary weapon? If I’m spending money on influence to just do the new content they put out I can’t get my legendary any time soon if at all, which is also the same for my guildies. This isn’t just a minor inconvenience it affects play style, time, keeping members in even medium sized guilds, and the availability of new content for people. So in what sense is anet keeping ppl who aren’t in larger guilds playing the game? That’s the issue. Is rather not be a no name dronein a 500 man guild so that I could access the new content that was promised to EVERYONE.

So I love my sword/pistol-Staff mesmer and have it focused a lot around crit/cond/duelist damage. One gripe I do have though is that to anyone smart enough to realize the DECENT damage(not great) that my duelist is doing will completely ignore me hit them one kill them and run back to me. Even if i try to force a melee range fight with my sword to keep a warrior thief etc on me when it generally wouldnt be a smart thing to do. I dont mind illusions not doing damage or dying in one hit well because I dont feel they were meant for that but when they give u opportunities to build for phantasm damage and those still die in 1 hit…it kinda defeats the purpose right?

Please respond with ur thoughts or strategies to avoid this thanks!
