“My mind has left, my body follows”
Apparently it it was confirmed to be a condition. But i expect it will be like fear. So it will still be affected by defiance. Basically this means fear and taunt can both be stunbroken or condi cleansed.
I haven’t really participated in the stress tests or betas so I wouldn’t know if they changed it since the original blog post but I am fairly certain it was labeled a status effect there (https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/revenant-the-master-of-the-mists/).
Well, doesn’t matter what they call it, still won’t make any difference.
Hehe he hehehe he he…
sorry.
Last time I checked Taunt was supposed to be a status effect, not a condition (so like stun or daze). Which makes it unusable on bosses with defiance bars :>.
I’ve already given up on humanity and any chances of ever getting through to those blessed with ignorance and stupidity. I just wish I could be dumb and happy with the rest of them.
Recruitment still open
Looking for more
@Zenith unfair as it may be it’s not a valid argument to just ignore the presence of those things (frost bow, meteor shower) in this game, especially since neither of the two are gimmicks and are regularly used in dungeon runs, therefore if you were to realistically compare DPS nothing besides Ele qualifies for top tier. I guess it’s all about viewpoint, but personally I find taking all the variables into account to be the logical default rather than completely omitting several important DPS variables only because it doesn’t seem fair to other classes.
Also warriors do have wind-up time because of adrenaline (15% dps difference) and considering the speed at which most bosses are killed I find it hard to believe that if we considered realistic dps contribution as a chunk of HP a character has taken from the boss throughout the duration of the fight, warriors would stand anywhere near the top.
@Lorgus aren’t challenges supposed to be beatable?
Still looking for more!
Still looking for skilled players
@Rehero: I’ve read your posts and your perceptions of the state of the game seem to be based purely on personal impressions and feelings with which I cannot argue, but at the same time I refuse to take into consideration.
At least I am glad we agree on the important topic and that is what this game needs in the future: truly challenging content.
1. This game already has a mixture of control/support/damage. Examples:
- banner of discipline - does no damage of it’s own. Has area effect that increases attributes of affected allies. Ability type: support (offensive) - this banner is the basis of any proper warrior build aimed at dungeons/instanced PvE content.
- black powder - blinds nearby foes (AoE that pulses). Does practically no damage (the initial shot deals like 100 dmg to the target of the skill if anything is targeted at all if I remember correctly). Ability type: control (defensive) - used very often against many trash mobs, especially in fractals of the mists.
- deep freeze - 4s long stun (frost bow skill #5). Used on almost every single boss in this game by organized parties (well, except Lupi I guess and maybe a few others). Ability type: control
2. This game has even encounter phases/steps tied in to those aspects of gameplay (talking about organized groups).
- pre-stacking might – support phase of the fight. You deal no damage to the boss itself, you provide your party with boons which are required to kill the boss quickly and efficiently.
- deep freezing/fight opener – control phase. You incapacitate the boss for a time long enough for a good party to kill it. If the party doesn’t kill the boss they coordinate CC spike to remove the remaining defiant stacks and deep freeze it again.
- dps phase - follows support and control phase. For numerous encounters (especially in fractals though) these phases switch and rotate depending on boss mechanics (reflect/deflect uptimes like on Grawl Shaman ect.).
3. Therefore what you people are complaining about is not that control/support are not viable, but EXCLUSIVELY FOCUSING ON CONTROL/SUPPORT are not viable. Or are they?
…
Indeed they are. You can still complete any instance geared and traited any way you want as long as those are consistent to a certain degree and used adequately. There have been numerous videos showing Lupicus kills (the most challenging non-fractal boss in PvE as it currently stands) without a single dodge in full tank gear.
You are all just salty that the meta game is more effective than the way you want to play. But there’s a reason to that as well: effectiveness comes from dedication and skill, not only gear and team composition. There is a group of people running dungeons with full tank guardian which achieves better clear times than majority of full-zerker PUG groups can dream of (I still find it wasteful but let’s not delve into that topic).
4. Introducing artificial trinity would be toxic to this game: yea, sure, you could finally get to play that pure support ele that you want so much, but very shortly you would discover, that the dungeon encounters that we currently have are not that challenging and complex as they are let’s say in WoW. The only challenge to regular players comes from the lack of understanding of the content and trinity only ever works towards trivializing content (reducing the requirement to be an effective party member from 3 aspects of the game to 1, effectively “dumbing down the game”). You would be left with the same feeling that we “filthy elitists” currently have: the feeling of neglect.
5. Open-world boss meta game is not the same as dungeon meta. Most people who do world bosses daily run completely different builds as compared to dungeoneers. This point is to highlight, that not only berserker gear is useful for all PvE. Open world bosses are the second “organized” aspect of PvE.
I still feel the need to point out, that gear type has nothing to do with roles/group comp or playstyle of a character. Those are determined by weapon, trait and utility slot choices.
6. What this game needs is truly challenging content. If content is truly challenging, PUGs will become more accepting of “tanky” guardians, “support” eles ect. because players capable of clearing said content in the same manner they are clearing content right now will become exceedingly scarce. You will get to play your trivialized versions of current professions however much you want and we’ll keep our effective way of doing things. All will be happy and the game will be a lot better this way.
Remember there was a thread where some of the deities of our elitist Pantheon (Iris and Lilith mostly) served hot cocoa to the Kicked Dungeon Sellers Anonymous? Here.
/gives steaming mug
With extra cream, just for you.
Hold on!
Thanks mate, I’ve already recovered somewhat and did the run again. Special thanks to oxtred for placeholding for me <3
On a more positive note, there was this one nice buyer who sent me more gold than I was asking for, perhaps not everyone who isn’t part of the dungeon frequenting minority hates us unconditionally.
Heh, my social experiment ended in an utter failure. Conclusion?
Don’t sell dungeons without placeholders. Ever.
It took me about 1 minute to get kicked out of my Arah p2. At least I got their names and submitted a support ticket, not like that matters in the least though. I haven’t been this salty in a while, I really do hope they get banned. I even wanted to be fair and bargain with them and they laughed to my face that ANet ain’t gonna do rat’s kitten about it and I suspect they might be right.
Well, serves me right. Should have been more cautious.
We have guild bounty unlocked now. Still looking for more skilled players to join our ranks
There goes the dream of many a kazul hero hoping to tank their way through bosses with their glorious nomad guardian lawl.
[don’t forget taunt is a status effect, not a condition].
Edit: wait, so now we don’t have ANY way whatsoever to reposition bosses other than LOS? Me no likie
Hello, [Path] is a guild tailored to suit the needs of veteran players such as yourself who want to indulge in several game modes and become a part of an active TS reliant community.
We are Desolation-based with a bunch of skilled players in all game modes (we regularly duo dungeons and compete on a higher level in PvP). We also happen to have a group of German-speaking players, although the guild itself is English.
For more info check out the link in my signature and feel free to whisper me in-game.
Having the ability to check other people’s builds would be so nice.
Hello there! Sounds like you would fit in with us just fine :P. I’ve got the link to our recruitment post in my signature (the [Path] one). The selling point would be that we’re on TS whenever we play and we swear a whole lot too! :P
Still looking for more friendly and skillful individuals to join us
@hybrid I might be wrong but aren’t the ferocity numbers ordered as ascending while the calculations are done as descending? Because otherwise the table doesn’t make much sense to me (although I do admit I am not good at reading spreadsheets).
Guild update: we are steadily growing. Lately we’ve recruited a number of social people and we’re finally seeing decent TS activity!
In the past week we’ve been doing some guild dungeon runs, guild pvp and even some EOTM action (since we’re from different servers we’ve amassed two zergs and clashed against each other xD).
Of course we are still looking for more people to expand our ranks!
We’re still looking for people to join us
So I listened to Tom and watched both Clannad and Clannad Afterstory…
it’s been almost a full day and I still feel depressed from it. By far the most beautiful yet sad stories I’ve seen/heard of before. Omg…
I remember some of us talked about it on a thread on this sub a while ago.
Try Kanon 2006 and Air TV, all 3 series have been done by the same company (Key Studios in terms of the original games). Personally I liked Air TV the best (it was also the weirdest one of the three though).
Greetings, we are the Immortals – an EU based guild that strives to create a community composed entirely out of skilled and experienced players who do not feel like committing themselves to a single game-mode or a specialized guild.
1. What sort of guild are you?
First of all, we have to make a distinction between what kinds of guilds there are out there in the game. If we leave out small guilds composed out of real life friends, we can divide guilds into two main categories:
Big all-purpose guilds and smaller highly specialized “hardcore” guilds.
The problem of the big all-purpose guilds is that they are often made up of less than optimal level of quality people since the fight to keep the guild’s numbers steady is a never-ending struggle in this game, seeing as people start, quit, join and leave constantly.
The problem of small specialized guilds is that it is often hard for people to get inside such communities. Dungeon running guilds often ask people to pass through various tests and PvP guilds either only invite people of certain skill level, or based on intrapersonal relationships, not to mention rarely if ever do anything other than PvP.
We are aiming to offer veteran players an alternative to this. What we are trying to create is indeed an all-purpose guild but with focus on quality rather than quantity. Don’t be mistaken, everyone will be given a fair shot at convincing us of their skill, yet no tests will be held. How is this going to work you ask? Let’s see:
2. How do I join?
Everyone is free to join our guild at the rank of a recruit.
To join our guild PM either Silferas.3841, jamesgrimble.1293, lettu.7920, Perfectexample.8720 or Komle.1803 in-game
The recruit will remain on this position until one of two possible outcomes comes to pass:
i) Three regular members have vouched that they have played together with the recruit in some area of the game where skill can be demonstrated (dungeon run, PvP, WvW roaming) and that they find the recruit satisfactory.
ii) A month has passed since the recruit has joined our community, yet he has either not played together with anyone from the guild (in which case we do not see the benefit in remaining in our guild for him) or has failed to convince anyone of his skill, in which case some more newbie-friendly guilds might be better suited for his needs.
3. Who are you?
We, the people behind the guild, are a group of friends who have already had a lot of experience with running a big guild in this game. Our last guild, the Alchemists, peaked at 500 members with over 100 active people daily at its best. However, the game got stale for a great many of us and the numbers dwindled. Eventually we had decided to disband, yet the recent announcement of an expansion has made us want to start anew.
4. What do you offer?
We do everything that’s currently in the game, but what we find more important is gathering up skilled individuals for what is to come with the new expansion. We do have a teamspeak channel, and we use it on a regular basis. We are working towards unlocking the guild missions and buffs. For those of you who do WvW regularly, we are based on Desolation, but we wouldn’t mind groups from other servers joining us
.
See you in-game!
(edited by Silferas.3841)
I’ve had this problem for a while as well. Occurs mostly during matches, with heart of the mists hardly ever being affected. I’ve had the bug on both thief and ele, so profession seems to carry little relevance to it.
In other news my forum sig finally works again. That means I can propagate our little community of forum trolls for a while longer, level my PvF and get the guild deleted just like Forum Agressor Guild was. What more could I ask for christmas?
1) Line of sight – you need to be directly in line of sight of the enemy for any skill to work (just like summoning phantasms ect.). If you are behind an obstacle (pillar, rock ect.) the skill will fail
2) Evasion – the skill is unblockable, but enemy can still evade it (evasion skills like thief #3 on s/d work too). A simple dodge roll is enough to negate the skill as well
3) Blinds – any (single hit) skill that is casted while you are blinded automatically misses
4) Boons – mimic copies boons. It does not copy boon-like abilities (like signet effects, virtues, food buffs ect.). Unless the enemy has boons on them (might, fury, protection, aegis, stability ect.) you will not get any benefit out of it whatsoever.
Hope this helps
And im back, what did i miss ?
Had a little “break“ from the forums..
PvF leveling? Btw, we really ought to run some dungeons together, it’s just that I am not online as much lately as I could be. Getting sort of apathetic about the game.
(edited by Silferas.3841)
The earth ele is there to pull Belka’s aggro, so that she doesn’t nuke them down while they’re channeling individual skills. She has a tendency to knock back people first and then nuke them down with the orb attack, so without the earth ele at least one of them would have trouble finishing the channeling on some of their skills.
Edit: now that I read your post again I think I might’ve misunderstood the point the first time, well, I’ll just leave the post here in case others misunderstood.
Edit 2: completely forgot to say this the first time: very impressive. Didn’t know about the wall targeting thing at all. Good job on the duo
(edited by Silferas.3841)
The invites have been sent, feel free to let me know if anybody else wants to join as well, though every rank should have the ability to invite new people
On-topic though, it’d be nice if they added some more variety to the mail carriers. I could imagine an undead hand bursting forth from the ground holding a mail right next to you
That’d actually be awesome.
I have finally managed to figure out a guild name that I somewhat like:
Silly Little Ugly Trolls [guild tag omitted for obvious reasons].
You know what to do guys
edit: I am so incredibly glad that this forum is going to stay [thanks for the idea dlonie]
edit2: the rank is ready btw
(edited by Silferas.3841)
My awesome cool lovely rotting corpse of a guild has been deleted!
They didn’t even let me know it was gone, I had to find out myself that there was one less guild in my guild tab, just like with the dungeon patch notes.
I want the Forum Aggressor Guild back TT.TT
Let’s go to the sylvari subforum, no sane person I know plays a sylvari
I shall take that as a compliment.
“My mind has left, my body follows” – Malkavians
I’d like the option to be an avenger. While killing the centaurs was disturbing to me personally, I’d love to have had the option to torture the kitten out of the asura who were performing experiments on the sylvari. Put them inside those machines and experiment on them instead, or just cut them apart alive.
EDIT: yes, I might be a nightmare court material. I’d like to see myself as more akin to Gavin rather than Faolain though.
(edited by Silferas.3841)
Every time I want to respond to a thread, and start to type, I ask myself, “Why bother?” Those that already do what I do, I’m preaching to the choir. Other nitwits… I’m not going to convince anyone.
I have the perfect reply to these kinds of threads, but then again, I just got my forum account posting rights back. It does include a recruitment message to a very special guild
Forum Aggressor Guild [FAG] is now recruiting!
Lack basic understanding of game mechanics?
Do people who do better than you kitten you off?
Do you get kicked from zerker gearcheck parties because you play how you want?
Do you feel an inner calling to fight against other playstyles than yours, because you feel that yours is just better and everyone else should play your way?Join Forum Aggressor Guild! [FAG] We will welcome any like-minded individuals. In order to apply, please /uninstall guild wars 2. Looking forward to (not) meeting you in-game!
Ok guys, i smell potential! Who would be up for that?
Apparently the game itself has more of a problem with the guild tag than forums do. Might have to figure out some workaround.
The base of any good group I run with would be:
Ele, Warrior – this covers might stacks, fury uptime, banners for max party DPS as well as glyph of storms for bursting bosses down at 25 vuln stacks and ice bow in case of large hitbox bosses
Rest would be composed of:
Thief – massive single target damage only rivaled by staff elementalists, stealth for skips and blind fields for veterans/elites
Guardian – for dungeons where reflects are needed and/or survivability is an issue.
2nd Ele – because having a staff ele + might stacking ele is awesome unless you need the spot for another class
Classes I could consider if I knew the player was good or for niche cases like portal skips:
Ranger – for spotter and frost spirit
Mesmer – reflects and portal skips, although not paired with guardian (would have to replace it in most cases)
Engie – long fights where vuln upkeep proves difficult for other classes, like fractals
I’d prefer not to see in my ideal party:
2nd Guardian – unless we’re talking about extremely difficult content, that isn’t in this game right now
2nd Warrior – brings nothing that could benefit the party more than classes listed above
2nd Thief – I’d rather have a 2nd ele, thx
Necro – offers nothing to the party that other professions wouldn’t already have covered. Even boon stripping is better taken care of by mesmer.
All listed above is my ideal party composition. In practice I am nowhere as picky as I made it look here and am willing to go with any party comp that I believe has covered all that is needed to complete the content relatively effectively.
PvP staff build: http://metabattle.com/wiki/Build:Elementalist_-_Staff_Support
Take ether renewal heal though, sig sucks on that build
Pros: very tanky if played right
- team support only rivaled by a bunker guardian
- unrivaled team healing potential
- still capable of dishing out very high amounts of damage
- unrivaled on-point pressure
Cons: – completely incapable of chasing enemies down (cannot focus low HP targets effectively compared to other specs)
- big parts of the damage dealt by this build have either channel time (meteor shower, eruption) or only cover a small area and can be easily avoided if not fighting on-point (lava font)
- requires knowledge of every skill on staff and appropriate time/place to use it (swapping to earth and casting magnetic aura automatically when a ranger starts rapid-firing you), otherwise performance of the build will be sub-optimal, but that applies to all ele builds.
The site I linked also has a WvW zerg build. You don’t want to roam with staff in WvW, there won’t be anyone you would be able to kill with that spec on your own. Instead, go for d/d for roaming and staff for zerg support/damage. Eles are amongst the best zerg classes in this game, so you might enjoy that.
Celestial is the go-to gear set for PvP and WvW ele because ele is one of the few classes in this game that can take full advantage of every stat that gear offers. Other gear types are mathematically inferior to celestial for ele, because one piece of celestial gear offers a lot more “stats” than let’s say a piece of soldier gear, therefore even a mix of different gear types wouldn’t yield the same results.
However be aware of the fact, that celestial gear has very low damage potential on it’s own and requires the user to stack a lot of might to start dealing enough damage. In order to do this, you need to run either strength runes, or cheaper alternative runes of aristocracy (CM dungeon rune, condi oriented variant). Superior sigil of Battle is often taken too. In order to actually stack might mid-battle WHILE dealing damage to your enemy, you need to learn the usual ele combos, so that you are capable of performing them very fast and effectively. This is because a celestial ele set only has sub-30% critical chance and in order to crit somewhat reliably, you are required to land your highest burst skills on the enemy in the two second window of fury after attunement swap.
EDIT: Also in terms of alternative to celestial armor. You can try going with a mix of armors and take asc. celestial trinkets, which are easier to get than the armor. Most ppl run a combination of knight’s/soldier’s on trinkets anyway, so swapping the two shouldn’t be that horrible, though probably not optimal by far either.
(edited by Silferas.3841)
Warrior, Ele and Engi stack might fast
Mesmer, Necro and Thief meta specs all have plentiful boon stripping capabilities
Mesmer – every clone shattered removes a boon. That’s up to 9 boons stripped just by using the class mechanic, while also dealing damage
Thief – not only does thief strips boons, he steals them and grants them to his team. Along with dazing the enemy, dealing damage, closing the gap, healing himself and gaining a new skill that helps him fight said class more effectively. Every 20 something seconds.
Necro – Path of Corruption, Corrupt boon, some weapon skills as well, all of which not only remove the boons, but turn them into conditions as well…
Guardian is a special case, since DPS guardian is a strong 1v1 spec even without boon stripping and bunker guardian is unrivaled as a point holder.
I’d say current meta game is the best one we’ve had since launch. There is no big prevalence of instagib specs or condi burst mayhem, instead, we have prolonged fights where mistakes accumulate and the better player/team wins. I don’t see that as a bad thing. Another thing to mention is that there is the highest number of viable pvp builds in this game since launch as well right now.
Not saying the balance is perfect, but I would be against doing anything too drastic to shift the meta back to instagib specs or condi.
It seems a morbid question and as healthy as it may seem to be as of late, is sPvP actually beyond its point of no return?
An MMO is beyond the point of no return only if it has already gone free to play. At that point there are many factors that could determine it’s success or failure, but once an MMO has gone f2p there’s nothing it can do anymore to pull in enough players, even if momentarily (seeing as going f2p is almost equivalent to a new launch of the game in many cases).
GW2 still has several ways by which it can pull in more pvp population:
1) large monetary reward championships tend to attract competitive scene players
2) expansion containing a huge number of new pvp features could pull in inactive/retired pvp players
However as it is right now I’d say PvP scene will stagnate for a while and then start steadily declining once again, at which point there will probably be other (better) games to play PvP in.
This is more a question aimed at the ability to Expand on both the competitive scene and the Game type scene.
Is it possible for Anet to rebuild enough of a PvP following to increase the player base to allow for more game types without fracturing players into groups so small that it will end up driving them away?
That depends. If it comes all as a part of a huge update with many PvP features ect. that would be advertised in advance and sufficient amount of hype would be built up then yes, it’s possible to release new game modes and not fracture the player base into fractions so small they would no longer be able to support said game modes and collape. Otherwise I don’t think it is.
Will we ever get to see more and more high level teams if we don’t have multiple game types for different players to excel in?
There is no game type that is better for an actual competitive game mode than conquest. It plays on all aspects of Guild Wars 2 combat that are good. Strategy, tactics, teamplay, reaction speed, decision making… However, it is also the hardest game mode to play and doesn’t value individual skill as much as some other game modes do, putting more emphasis on coordination and strategy, which is exactly why many players don’t like it and would prefer a more straightforward “fighting” game type.
Although I am fairly certain that people who dominate conquest now would dominate all other game modes in exactly the same manner, and people who are horrible at conquest would fare no better in deathmatch or any other scenario. People just like to make up excuses why they suck.
Has anets lack of concern and action on both balance and updates set a precedent of “inaction” that is holding players away from the game mode, and if so, is it possible for them to turn that around this late into the games life span?
General lack of concern over game balance or content is not unique to PvP in this game, and just like in PvP has caused a lot of people to simply give up on playing given content (like dungeons). ANet has not expressed the slightest interest in changing their policy about these things, so I wouldn’t expect any improvement. Ever.
If it is possible, how long could it take and what happens if they drop the ball completely once again?
I don’t think it’s possible, but it would take something akin to an expansion at this point, which is years away at least.
Everything above is purely an opinion of mine.
(edited by Silferas.3841)
Sounds awesome, and btw, zerker meta wouldn’t change in the least.
1) all content has to be completable regardless of gear/build
2) that implies, that you cannot have content, where it’s not possible to get to let’s say lvl 100 wave on zerker gear, while it’s do-able on soldier. It might be easier with soldier’s at first, but it cannot be impossible on other sets
3) since it cannot be impossible to complete on zerker sets, survival while running zerk would be a matter of teamwork and individual skill (:O how surprising)
4) zerker does more damage = zerker is faster = zerker is more money for the same time = zerker is better
The only way to do something about zerker meta would be to add more high armor low HP bosses like Berserker Abomination from Arah p2 into the new survival dungeon, which could potentially turn some rampager’s specs viable. Other than that defensive gear is always bound to be training wheels in this game, nothing in the world (other than maybe complete combat system overhaul) can change that.
To elaborate what I have in mind: with guardian, it is possible to push lupi into the wall behind him, and once he reaches phase 2 and starts the AoE mayhem, you can place wall of reflection right on top of him (on the wall), so that all of the projectiles get reflected back at him. Now the question is, would temporal courtain with warden’s feedback achieve the same result? While I do understand that this particular skill is perhaps the most unreliable reflection skill in this game, we are talking about point-blank reflection placement, where height of the reflection wall (techinically) shouldn’t matter.
Thanks for your replies in advance
This is purely my opinion, classes are ordered in terms of how much they contribute to a high level fractal group:
Guardian – hammer build provides great DPS, perma protection, aegis, reflects ect.
Warrior – easy to play, great boost to DPS with EA, phalanx, banners (including battle standard for aoe ress)
Elementalist – staff build = incredible damage. With phalanx warrior you don’t really need ele for might stacking, so it can utilise it’s full dps potential. Also earth elemental for tanking bosses.
Thief – stealth for skipping stuff + perma blind fields for trash mobs
Mesmer – reflects, condi cleanses, temporal courtain pull, overall good team utility
the rest of the classes can contribute as well, but imo these are the top-dogs for PUGs and semi-organised parties.
I think he means that staff eles do not fulfill any other role on the team besides DPS, therefore they are taken only when situation allows it. While that’s true, it’s also true that damage is the king in PvE, and with the phalanx strength warrior build being so brainlessly easy to play and give the whole party permanent 25 stacks of might, staff eles might become the one build to play as an ele.
Without conjures ele will cease to be viable in dungeons. It’s conjured weapons that make ele the top dog in the tough fight for spots in dungeon speedrun parties, and at the moment eles are quite viable in every other area of the game (including PvP thanks to the runes of strength and celestial amulet change last patch).
What you are asking for is the same as killing off this class completely in one area of the game.
Well, Staff Berserker elementalist OutDPSed Hammer builds before patch and still has more DPS than many professions right now (PVE). We can live without Hammer, but the Staff rotation is quite boring.
Staff ele has no utility of it’s own, other than providing a fire field for the LH ele to blast. Without the Ice Bow, fire ele doesn’t pull very far ahead of a backstab thief, who provides more team utility with blinds, stealth and projectile deflection. The new staff ele build cannot even blast into his own fire fields to pre-stack might, or keep up fury, because he needs to conserve arcane skills to keep arcane lightning up.
With the removal of conjured weapons, staff ele would get hit just as much as any ele build and it’s viability would be questioned. There might be a spot for one in some parties, but most of the time a build that makes it easier and faster to finish the dungeon would be preferred
Speed runs are not really an issue for the majority just a insignificant few. So we would be fine.
1) Speedruns, along with sPvP are the only places where individual skill matters. It’s what you call “insignificant minority” who are the only skilled players in this game.
2) Dungeons and fractals are the only real PvE endgame this game has, and PvE is still the biggest game mode player-wise out of all 3. Please use your brain before posting. What you just vomitted on your keyboard makes you not only seem arrogant, but conceited, misinformed, thoughtless and borderline stupid as well. A lot of people do dungeons. The numbers are comparable, if not bigger than WvW. PvE still is the milking cow of ANet, and dungeons are the endgame of PvE, repetitive as they may be.
3) Wvw is a zergfest where more often than not you lag too much to actually be capable of any skillful play, and the numbers of people in a zerg are often too big for your actions to be of any real significance, unless you are the commander (where ele would be a stupid choice regardless of wards or not).
4) While the removal of conjured weapons would impact dungeon speedruns the most, it would not be without it’s impact on any dungeon run, and would harm the PvP/WvW roaming ele as well (namely fiery greatsword, the only mobility ele has at the moment).
5) What irritates me the most, is that you are proposing a removal of a set of weapons most people aren’t even unhappy with. You are not proposing addition in another feature patch, but removal, because of your own selfish views and reasons, and when people come to oppose you, you label them insignificant. How much more selfish, blind and arrogant can you get? Do you have no brain to grasp the concept of idiocy towards which you are headed? Play however you want and let others play how they want, was that not the core concept of this game as it was released?
You disgust me.
staff build by DeKeyz. Very easy to play, top DPS in the game, useful in any dungeon/PvE party.
I’ve ran this yesterday in fractals 49
- 25 stacks of might for the whole party even on tougher bosses like Mossman or Archdiviner (although as a result of paying attention to might stacking more than animations, I did get downed a few times). This was without signet of rage, as I took warbanner instead (was a pug).
- I did feel the loss in personal DPS pretty heavily, although stuff went down fairly fast, so I guess it is not a bad choice of a build for fractals at all
EDIT: Oh, and almost forgot. My ele would most definitely still outperform this build in any regular dungeon by far, but I would really recommend running this for high level fractals. Ele can just swap to staff for superior DPS instead of bothering with might upkeep with all the different fields in various fractals (smoke/light/chaos ect.).
