There you have it. WW is still too hard for a lot of players and frustratingly easy for those who loved the Clocktower.

Final score in Toypocalypse...?

So two shotting toys isnt useful? If noone shoots at the toys they have more chances to destroy the defenses.

That’s exactly NOT what I’ve said. The point of this thread was about the logic behind the scoreboard and how it’s unfair for those who build.

Final score in Toypocalypse...?

What’s up with the final score in Toypocalypse? I’ve just worked my “rear end” off building defenses and repairing it non stop and that got me a score of 7 at the end. Someone else in our group who would stand around in between phases for 20+ seconds and do nothing but shoot enemies gets a score of 147. I’m not saying this person doesn’t deserve a high score, I’m just wondering why my effort makes me look like I did nothing at the end?

One could say “well, what does it matter?” and maybe that’s right, but it just gave me a bad feeling at the end because nobody wants to be at the bottom of a scoreboard especially if it’s undeservedly (imo).

The problem with “it should all be for everyone” is that it makes it all BORING. I don’t want to go through these events like a zombie crossing off “things to do” from a list. If that’s what it’s all about than maybe these seasonal events are not for me.

The main difference between the Clocktower and Winder Wonderland for me personally: Finishing the Clocktower for the first time after about one and a half hours of trying = YESSSSS finally!! OMG, let’s do it again! Finishing Winter Wonderland after about 10 minutes and maybe 5 tries = Hm ok, what should I do next?

I’m not trying to make anyone feel bad, it’s just what the experience was for me personally. I’m especially disappointed because the jumping puzzle was the only thing I was really looking forward to after the experience with the Clocktower.

As the others have said, you got to make sure no Skritt is inside the circle or else the bar won’t fill up. BUT this part of the dungeon seems a bit strange because the first time I’ve done it, there where almost no Skritt around. We had to defeat maybe two or three groups of Skritt and the bar was full. The second time I’ve done it, there where SOOOOO many more Skritt coming in. Sometimes there where like three groups moving into the circle at once, we really had to battle hard to finally fill up the bar.

How about making different difficulty levels with the exact same reward at the end BUT adding something like a leader board as enticement to take the hard setting? Or maybe add some extra chests along the way (like we had on the clocktower) to give the more skilled jumping puzzle players a bigger challenge? Like a longer route if you want to get that extra chest(s)?

I understand everyone who thought the clocktower was too hard and wanted it to be easier, but I also feel like what they’ve done now is just unfair to everyone who loved the challenging aspect of the clocktower. There HAS to be a better way than Winter Wonderland.

I don’t get why so many of you think you should be able to do and enjoy every single piece of content in a game. I don’t like dungeons. There are lots of things keeping me from enjoying them. I will never even see a major chunk of content in this game. Yet, I’m not crying and whining for Anet to change them to fit me. I just don’t do them and let the people who enjoy that type of thing have their fun.

This game is incredibly simple and easy. There is absolutely no lack of easy content for you people to do. So why do you insist on making it so those of us who enjoy a challenge can’t have even one single thing that caters to our wants? I don’t expect the entire game to be harder; you people are where the money is, afterall. But why can’t we have even one thing that pushes us to our limits and take hours of trying to do?

I couldn’t have said it any better!

I’m with the peeps who don’t think they’re entitled to everything in a game because they bought it. It’s like buying a tennis racquet and asking your opponents to play worse to match your level of skill then complaining to an umpire whenever you lose.

Seriously, this jump puzzle was easy. If you disagree then you’re just bad at jump puzzles and everyone that isn’t shouldn’t have to be brought down to your level because you feel entitled to doing something you can’t. So much tears on this forum over easy kitten.

Personally, i’m disappointed with the jump puzzle, the walk in the park “dungeon” that took like 5 mins all catering to the “entitled” little noobs.

Please stop catering to noobs Anet.

I absolutely agree. I felt like there where just as many people who said the clocktower JP was awesome as people who complained about it. I don’t understand why they had to make it THAT easy now, don’t the people who enjoy a challenge count for anything?

Now this thread is about Winder Wonderland but I also agree about the dungeon (we’ve seen only the first, so that might change). Once we’ve finished the boss all in our group where like … “That’s it?”.

I am so disappointed by the jumping puzzle. It took me literally about 10 minutes to figure it out and finish it. There was no sense of accomplishment at the end. I felt the Halloween one was almost perfect, if I had to rate them I’d give the Halloween one a 9.5/10 and the Christmas one a 3/10. The Halloween JP had a nice pace to it, it was challenging, had the right length and obstacle variation in it. Winter Wonderland on the other hand feels so boring. The first part is (almost) always the same jump with the same distance. The second part is just weird with those falling presents. I don’t really see how it’s a challenge at all. The third part imo does not fit into a jumping puzzle. It’s also not a challenge because you got so much time between the boulders.

All in all it’s just such a disappointment for me especially because I’ve had so much fun with the Halloween one. Maybe my expectations where just too high

Anyway, here is a quick run through.

Jumping Puzzle Equality

in Wintersday

Posted by: Silver.9578

Silver.9578

Will the new jumping puzzles treat player characters of different sizes equally? Have you evened out new jumping puzzles to have portions that favor tall characters to balance out those portions that are buggy/hard for tall characters and easy for short ones?

It is such an established meme that small characters have a distinct advantage in current JPs, it is unfair to players with tall characters.

I would like to see the tables turned for once, and see JP sections that give an advantage to tall players and put short ones at a disadvantage. So many players with short characters specifically rolled with JPs in mind now complain JPs are not hard enough.

Give them harder by introducing JP sections that challenge short players while giving tall ones an edge. It’s all about balance.

I would love to hear why you think small characters have an advantage in the current JPs and what exactly they could do to give an advantage to big characters…

Why I'm never bothering with FotM again

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Silver.9578

Here is what I do: When ever (almost) I go to LA I’m ending up on an overflow server. This has its ups and downs. An up is, that you can switch the overflow server by going back to the character selection screen if you can’t find a suitable group for your level on the current server. A level 2 FotM group with 4/5 players might just be one “character selection screen” away from you…

But I also have to say, that the current system with clustering the community is not a great idea. I’m sure we will come to the point (once less people are interested in FotM) where it will be almost impossible to find a group which allows you to progress.

More Events like this please

in The Lost Shores

Silver.9578

I think the event was awesome. No, I didn’t get a precursor and yes, the loot at the end is completely useless for me but guess what? I still enjoyed it immensely. I’m usually someone who has lags with no end, is standing around not knowing what was going on and what to do but the third part of this event worked just perfectly for me. So yeah, if they could tweak events like this a little bit (you know, make it more stable for everyone, maybe remove the precursor from the chest or give it to all who open the chest for fairness) then I’d love to see events like this one again. Just don’t do it in Lions Arch because of the heavy lags and invisible enemies.

I 100% agree with the OP. I’m playing GW2 since the BWEs and yesterday was probably the most frustrating time I’ve spent with this game. I felt a bit sick before the event even started but also felt like I don’t want to miss something good and then this… just pure chaos, lags, invisible enemies broken NPCs…

I have yet to try the new dungeon (I hear it’s pretty good) but the rest of the “Lost Shores” was just rubbish so far and I can’t blame anyone who got a bad impression of this game.

Canach, Elona Reach.

It’s almost midnight here… guess we Europeans have to either hope for a fast fix, hang around through the night (and wait for a fix) or miss the rest of the event (or hope nothing happened until tomorrow.

So far, “The Lost Shores” was nothing but frustration.

Absolutely love the clocktower. I’ve finished it about 50, 60 times by now (just for fun and farming bags). And yes, it was a bit frustrating at first but if you finally finish it for the first time, it’s the best feeling GW2 has to offer right now

I can see how people get frustrated with this event, It took me also about two ours to get the timings right and finally finish it for the first time. At one point I was pretty frustrated with myself. BUT! Once I’ve done it, It felt very rewarding. It felt better than anything I’ve done before in GW2.

Since then I did it with all of my eight characters (one for each class if you’re wondering). I even enjoy doing the puzzle just for fun and for farming bags.
