No, it is not like that in EU.
I don’t want to whine, since now Im kinda ok with it, but just to explain:
Server A and B have same primetime, and fight each other,both win some and lose some.Then at 2-3AM server B goes to sleep, but server A still has an active group of players. They cap everything and go to sleep.
Next day server B has to take back everything that was taken last night, but they meet opposition fro server A since their prime time is the same. So server B can not capture whole map (don’t forget we have server C here too, which does want his pice of the pie).
But whatever B and C have done during their daytime will get destroyed by server’s A night krew.
That is how it works, and that is why it is concidered a problem.
Good for you. My day job requires concentration, i can not allow myself to sit thete sleepy. Not to mention, that two hour sleep is bad gor the health
I can’t say for the entire server, but I have to go to sleep at 2am my time. If it is the same time DL disconnects – that is surprising coincidence. I mean, people going to work in the morning is really strange, but that is what we do
I don’t see why 10 people sbould be able easily to AoE considerably bigger force. Get in squad. You need siege to defend efficiently, not just through AoE all over the place. And again, Retaliation doesn’t mirror all your damage. If it would – that will be a problem.
I never thought it is onesided, it is fun to play and fair fights during primetime.
Elvy, if you think that play on weekend is the same as on weekday – I have nothing to explain to you. During weekend we have all people from all major alliances queueing to BGs all day long, trying to provide as good fight as possible.
We can not do it during weekdays, since we have to go to work, sleep, etc. Eg. when I come home from work I join the queue to BG. I spend 3-4hours in the queue, get in at 12-1am my time. But I have to go to sleep soon, since I hwve to go to work in the morning. During that time a lot of unorganized ayers are in BGs running around in zerg. We can not get our alliance online together on the same BG. That is why sometimes you see us (and any other server) more organized and some times not. But saying, that whole server is bad because your server steamrolls it during nighttime is kinda disrespectful. The same goes to saying that server is caried by a given guild. There are always dedicated guilds on each server. Russian DL are really nice guys, they are organized and can get decent numbers in BGs since they start queueing earlier. But there are lots of great players.
How about we stop creating disrespectful threads? Personally I respect the grand cross from VS as nice opponents and they behave nicely on our Far Shiverpeaks Forums.
I see both servers as decent Opponents, and it is fun fighting Desation too.
The only problem at hand, is that VS has higher late night population, because yojr server is more focused on WvW then ours. We can not stay till 4-5am on weekdays to provide decent defence against VS late-night krew.
Repair cost is especially bad, when your server is outnumbered, and you die often, if you try to push.
Night capping in europe? Never heard about it.

Just to say, that FS didn’t have “all it’s top guilds” in BGs during weekend. We struggled with terrible queues. We did have nice presence, but it is far from our pitential. And I like how you say we’ve nightcapped FR. This is priceless!
But anyway, fights on weekend were nice, Let’s stop qq And just enjoy our battles. Just stop caring about score and everything is ok. Or, if you can’t stand the frustration – stop joining Wv3 and whine in map chat. Let others, that want to play tl have your spot.
Night players != HC players.
They play completely different game, comparing to every1 playing during zone prime-time. PvD is not the same as PvP. But there impact on the overall match results is significantly higher of those, that play while the zone is sleeping. You do realize that this is not fair for majority of players?
Locking objectives from capturing is a bad idea. I would gladly see some PvE removed from Wv3 though – no bosses, no jumping puzzles in any borderland and no 100% map requirement.
As for night capping – I would like to either see score system revised to lower the impact of night capping or (this will never happen) make Eternal battlegrounds available 24/7, while server-specific battlegrounds available only during prime zone time. Ofc servers of the same zone should be matched against each other. But yeah, as I said before – this will never happen
I still would prefer to see names, I just like it this way.
I would like to have a better squad/raid management. In like – forming squads of e.g. 20 ppl with ability to see them on the map, place markers on the map, etc.
And some fix for night capping is required.
Your even should thanks the dedicated alliances you have on FS that can get into battlefields with about 40 guildies or so on each map and made a 48h operatin for this week end. Unfortunatelly, war doesn’t take place only where and when you desire it, even in a game like GW2.
The day when our alliance can do a thing like that and kick yourkittenso badly, you will come here complaining you can’t do anything and beg A.net to move all these HC players on another server dedicated for them.
But we are part of those dedicated alliances. Getting many people at the same time in any borderland is really hard. The only moment, when it was possible was the server restart, which is not a option any longer. Please, stop posting those “scary” posts about your so mighty alliance. Everybody is in the same boat with queues right now.
VS just lost the weekend point-wise, but will compensate it during weekdays. I am happy how intense the fighting was and look forward for the next Friday to come.
I’m sorry, but those on VS, that are saying, that you have queue problems – do you think other servers don’t have queues? I’ve spent whole Saturday and Sunday in queue, got in twice. We are not able t organize proper guild events on FS either. Right after server rematch we had a pretty decent group trying to get in the same zone. During several seconds after the servers went up – there already was a queue to every borderland. We were unable to get 50% of our alliance into the zone. So yeah, everybody is fighting against queues.
The problem still stands we had nice fights during all weekend to loose everything Monday morning.
We have a nice match up on the Far Shiverpeaks – it is our old good friends VS and Deso. We are still leading by score by now, but I’m afraid it will change during weekdays. VS never sleeps
I’ve been playing melee (mace+shield) guardian from the beginning and during some betas. I’m playing support build, but I have no problems killing ppl, even contrary – I am leading assaults of groups of people and tend to never die. I have scepter+torch for stopping runners and retaliation to deal with those nasty rogues.
Playing melee class one has to understand, that you are not expected to kill rangers standing behind enemy lines, your guardian is a tough meat shield that protects your mates and heal them when needed.
When your forces a attacking a keep/tower, guardian shall not try to kill ppl on walls, he is better of taking a small group of melee players and move a little bit away, looking for incoming enemy reinforcements. Just don’t try to play the class the way it’s not meant to be played.

Will it be possible to see your place in the queue in future/theoretical time before join? That will help a lot of people to plan their play-time better.
I just loaded in my guardian (Lion’s Arch).
I am still able to load in my baby hunter – starting Sylvari area.
After update, Im unable to load into my guardian in Lion’s Arch. I’ve left the game yesterday without any problems, but right now I’m unable to get in. The loading screen doesn’t have any information about the map either (POI discovered, vistas, etc) Just a generic loading screen and rotating loading wheel.
So I’m unable to play my main character right now.
Constantly have the same issue. For example yesterday I spent in the queue to Eternal Battlegrounds more then 2 hours, while my guild mates queued later for the same battleground, but got in in ~10-20 minutes.
We need an actually working queue system, and it should be possible for parties to join the battle grounds too. Right now it takes ages to get into battle ground as a party. (I think it waits for enough places to free up at the same time for party to join, but if people are leaving battleground 1 by 1 – single players get prioritized over parties)
