How to nerf Reaper

Hi!

I’m here to talk about how to nerf Reaper.
As I do not know how it’ll be at the launch of Heart of Thorns, the beta make me feeling like it’s way too powerful O_O
And I’m playing an Asura Necromancer, I’ll welcome the Reaper as soon as it’s available.

In your opinion, if they want to reduce Reaper power, how should they do it?

As for my opinion on the topic, only two components actually make me think the Reaper is “too op”.

Major Master Trait: Decimate Defenses
Increase Critical Chance by 1% per stack of Vulnerability (downed from 2%)

Greatsword #2: Gravedigger
Recharge reduced by 50% against a downed or low health foe (downed from 100%)

No you dont play a necro, a real necro wouldnt do this thread.

Asking a nerf on something not even out … Human’s stupidity scare me a lil more everyday :/

Won’t waste time trying explain why and what about our class if you don’t either take time learning others profession before rush in our community and write such salty things.

Reaper Shroud A little Too OP

Reaper is so overpowered, especially condition reaper. It needs a hard nerf… my pu mesmer had a hard time vs a reaper necro running a condi build and fire spam in shroud. With duelist traits, a mesmer should effectively duel and defeat ANY class or player 1 on 1 with ease. Please fix reaper before launch because its not even close to fair now. It is borderline like stealth trapper condi thieves which kill you without ever being seen accept you can see them and they simply have 2 hp bars and burst you down with extreme damage

What? Why should you win every 1v1?!

Where is it written that you always winning a 1v1 is an indicator of balance or good design? What the actual kitten?

Hoping this is a troll post. If not, my god man.

Troll 10/10 people that dont know how play QQ much there and devs listen thats why necro got soo much nerf, dont you dare touch our reaper now its finally amazing to play our class

So, at the end you asked your guildies to support you on your failure point/discussion.
Well, that’s and end for me, I’ll wait for ArenaNet and a fix of the droprate.

I just mentioned how ridiculous the reactions for a mini that is attainable atm for some gold/effort are when we have been after a tonic for 1 year +.

They just decided to chip in after reading your rather funny posts/reactions

So you justify bad game design in one area of the game because there is bad game design in a different area of the game.

The whole point is why fix one minor bad aspect of the game when a couple players cry a river because they want the reward without spending the time/effort/resources – which is fine, everyone has different gameplay schedules – and not one that has been asked for fixing for soon to be a full year when unlike what you guys are doing here, we provided accurate numbers and data, valid options with measured quantification as to fix the fractal issue.

Point is: If they fix this issue, they better fix the other issues that relate to the same exact problem – including fractals – because this will be the 3rd time that they will have complied to a very small % of the overall population QQ’ing on a forum thread while ignoring the fractal issue.

Actualy i laugh hard cuz i remember someone from anet writting on AMA #reddit, they do not want us to prepare the fun but having fun right now. While they works on xPac3 and remove devs working on stuff from xPac2 …

People find fair having to sacrifice this developement while half of the devs work on something we dont care by now.

This company need to learn priority and actualy its to deliver the promises from xPac2 not trying to make a dream about things coming in xPac3 when u didnt finished the current one.

I opened over 450k atm since macro are allowed u can open 250 bags in less 5 sec

Buy bags, sell stuff.

With luck u get rare items which u convert in bags again till you run out of gold

Day one cob was btw 9/10g for smart ppl which understood it we could litteraly farm for free tons of ToT

Why the necro isn’t a class for me? I played it since the release with no problem at all…

I just give my personal feedback about the reaper. Too strong, not enough challenging. If you like to play an easy class, it’s OK for me, I don’t judge you… I just want to launch a real debate about the reaper. Now, a lot of people are necromancer because the prof is strong. Before HoT, we were a huge minority IG, rejected by the mass because of our “lack of DPS and general utility”.

The “mass reroll effect” isn’t a coincidence… Just admit it. It’s better to communicate with the devs for a correct nerf than a surprised one, isn’kitten

Strong and fair point but dont write “pls nerf necro” in ur tittle cuz i wasnt even looking for read it in first place, got bored before bed just wanted report for troll.

Now, we already got a terribad change on BB trait even if we asked it ( we knew it was too strong ) but they stomped it with a huge hammer because ppl complain too much and dont take the time to share positive ideas.
Asking for a nerf, without share ideas about what to touch and how change it, is not good at all for the futur of this class.

I play necromancer since the first day i discovered this game and tryed all others class for at least 1 full month each to learn more about their weakness (pvp view).
I main it for solids reasons which cant be understood by most of players in this game because of zerk meta.

My english is rly bad thats a main reason i dont like write that much but i love this class and everytimes i see this kind of thread it make me cry :/

Anet themselves stated raids would not be doable by most players.And that small percentage are geting a new raid wing next week wile the rest of us get to replay hot metas for the several hundredth time.I have hive master and golden child titles and 163 mastery points.Time they gave the majority of there players something else to do.
Bored of hot yip.

Maybe actually try and raid? I mean it really isn’t that hard. I made my account at release but quit and came back periodically including for a week or so at HoT release. Ive got barely 385 hours across all my chars over 1,267 days. I’ve almost got an entire toon in ascended pieces(4 more to go!) That means since the roughly 30,408 hours since GW2 core release, in less then 0.01% of the time I’ve almost got full ascended and 1/3 raid bosses down probably clear the rest this weekend but it took less than 10 tries for my first kill. I don’t consider myself elite, if anything my playtime heavily shows I’m a casual. I also don’t use meta builds and haven’t had any trouble finding pugs. Maybe you’re just going about it all the wrong way with a kittenty attitude?

They did but based on fact it can be done with only 5 ppl, i can say they failed their hardcore content, if the rest of us cant even manage raid with a full team its only cuz its not working as fractals or dungeons which u just need spam 1 to death.

Raid need communication and coordination, which was never needed beside Teq / Wurm, and people cant deal with it.

Guild leader opened 1.12 million bags and finally got it :P

Opened 1.12m bags, and got:

1 Gwynefrydd
1 Black Necklace
2 Green Necklaces
3 Endless Batwing Tonics
2 Gift of Spiders
71 Zuzus
13,5k Wrappers (approx)
3 Legendary Luck

so assuming the necklaces, bat tonics, legendary luck, gifts and Gwynefrydd are on the same loot table, it was probably just bad luck on my side.

But hey, finally got it

Maybe I get something wrong and this is some kind of joke…
But where did you get these 1.12 mln bags?
Or where did you get ~67.000 gold to buy it? Or, may be, 8000(+ ~8000more) hours to grind it? Or even ~4000+ slots to store it? Share a secret. So far everything points to the fact that you.. how to put it mildly… a bit exaggerating

Buy 2 rows of 10 stacks, open, vendor yellow craftable, make cobs, save Balm & Cookies, delete rest, rinse & repeat for 3 days, the first few days were actually a profit for the resell value on cobs/zuzus/pillow cases/etc, i only started losing money the last day and a half.

But in the end i did end up in the negative by quite a bit gold wise.

The most time consuming thing especially doing this for 12h+ a day is deleting dragonite/fragments/food and especially the finishers since the names have to be typed in.

It really isn’t rocket science you know….

And how much time, approximately, takes one repeat of this “ritual”?

As I run a build that clears condi’s, even that can’t stand a Reaper’s shroud skills, my characters just are no match to the pure damage a reaper is doing and I find the reaper being just a little bit too much over powered.

Reroll revenant sword/shield – staff and come back there say reaper is overpowered.
We finally got something good for necromancer dont start this kind of useless thread kitten

BWE 3 Reaper Specialization Feedback Thread

Really nice work since the last BWE. Reaper feels a lot smoother compared to the first BWE. I keep my feedback short and simple:

DS 1 feels perfect now
DS 2 feels perfect now
DS 3 the fear casttime still feels out of place. Instantcast please?
DS 4 perfect by itself
DS 5 feels a bit weak compared to Gravedigger. Even at under 25% health gravedigger deals more damage. Please adjust the health tresholds and the damage it does. Could maybe execute foes under 25% health instantly like the Daredevil elite does.

GS 1 feels okay
GS 2 is perfect
GS 3 feels lacking. Would need more DPS, has gotten much worse since the change of souleater.
GS 4 is perfect, i love this skill now.
GS 5, its not reliable at all. Seems buggy at times, doenst pull the full distance sometimes.

YSIM Perfect
YAAW The might application is bad in duration. Please make the duration of the might much longer, but decrease the stacks. Currently it will overwrite the longer duration might stacks from Spite / allies / firefields with the sheer amount of low duration might, makes this skill more of a burden.
Suffer Its still mostly useless or too weak. Could we add something like reveal to it, or give some boons per foe hit? It feels like a weaker version of plague signet.
NCSY Feels good, could we please make this instant cast?
Rise seems fine as well. Love the model.
CTTB Is getting there. I think the CD should be 60 seconds base, if you can make this without reducing its effects even further.

Shivers of Dread: We still lack synergy with this trait
Augury: Tooltip is buggy, still states 7% reduction per foe. The lifesteal values are a too low, especially the healing value. Would like this to give me at least 900 health if i hit 5 targets. Would also be pretty cool to get 1 s of retaliation per foe hit for the synergy with bligthers boon, but that would be too strong as an adept.
Chilling Nova: The damage and chill feel fine, the CD does kill it a bit.
Soul Eater: Recharge reduction is much better. The lifesteal attached to gravedigger is awkward, gravedigger is our strongest GS skill already. Would prefer the old version of lifesteal, for all skills while wielding a GS, + in reapershroud. Reduce values of lifesteal a bit ofc.
Chilling Victory: The ICD is okay, the Lifeforce generation with Blighter’s Boon was a bit too strong in best case scenarios. Please make this might much longer in duration though – same issue as YAAW.

General issues and concerns:

Reapershroud and combo fields - please make leeching bolts work. The majority of our fields are darkfields, it feels so bad when you pop a GS4 for defense, then go RS and DPS just to see my blind leap does blind and my Death Spiral is wasting its whirl finisher.

Vital persistance - Please make this – or part of this – baseline. With Reaper i feel like i need my Shroud much more then as baseline necro – even to a point where i could say Soul reaping is mandatory just because of this trait.

Shouts - please normalise some values: It feels awkward that some shouts have casttimes, some are unblockable, others are not, also the damage values are all different. Could we at the very least get them all (except for the ulti)normalised to the damage of Rise?

Wells - Due to the way the reaper skillset works i feel like wells are one of the best choices for utilities apart from shouts and some spectral skills. However, seeing the new mesmer wells makes me rather sad. Could we please rework / buff our wells a bit? Even fully traited they arent as damaging, or as supporting, or as fast recharging as the mesmer wells are baseline.

Fear - Please give us more access to it as reaper via traits. Our minor benefits from fear only, at this time it feels almost like a wasted slot.

Thx, finally something worth to read after all the QQ about a GD nerf which doesnt exist.
I can confirm GS5 doesnt work at all and got broken since BW2.

This skill need some changes at start from a range increase 600 to 900 and make it more fluid by forcing the character to turn towards the target.
