/say is a command that shows text you type in a white font colour, visible in an approximate 2000 range radius.
/emote is a command which allows you to create “custom emotes” by showing “[Character name] + [whetever is said after /emote ]” in grey text, like emotes such as /dance. This appears to have double the visible range of the /say command.
As a roleplayer these two commands effect me a lot when I play. A fair number of you have probably at least run into or across a few people roleplaying somewhere in the game. If you haven’t, it’s basically just people “playing pretend” to immerse themselves in the game’s world and setting. Like pretending to be a charr soldier or something.
Say and emote range have always been a bit iffy, but a few patches ago emote range in particular became really wide. (this was pre-HoT)
It was never announced, and so likely a result of some other change in the spaghetti code. Still I would like to humbly ask that the visible range of these two commands are looked into or some form of slider added to adjust your visible range of these two commands.
Easiest might be to just set the range to something else. But there’s no reason you’d be able to hear someone say something from 2000 units away.
Maybe 600 units for both to display the text message is more reasonable, but that’s just my opinion.
Of course there’s more pressing issues. But this is a peeve of mine and several of my roleplaying friends in the game and so I wish only to voice it as a concern.
While the Jora inspired hair is really cool, I was less intrigued once I entered combat stance.
This looks hilarious, but the anti-gravity braid is not quite what I wanted.

If you’re going to run condi mesmer shatters will be a good source of your reliable conditions either way (mostly confusion).
There’s no reason to ignore the shatter mechanics, but if they bother you you can pick up Chronophantasma in Chronomancer to let you keep your phantasms for 1 shatter.
This trait is a bit wonky, perhaps not as much a bug as just an odd interaction.
The trait tooltip states it will not cast the signet of inspiration effect if you have no boons, but because of how the trait works it will cast the signet 100% of the regardless of your previous amount of boons prior to casting.
This is because the moment the phantasm is spawned it applies Regeneration to you. Which is a boon, which triggers the Signet of Inspiration effect.
Thus you then have to wait 30 seconds to get actual utility out of the trait.
It probably doesn’t really need an actual fix, as the regen is very handy in PvP. But moving the boon check to the start of the phantasm cast could be solution. I’ll leave it to Anet to think about it, but in its current state the trait is a lot more underwhelming than it should because of the instant trigger.
Admittedly I have not checked if it’s just trying to count the guild boost I currently have, as I can’t remove it. But that would be a bug.
The crate of weapons in the SCAR Bivouac (Tangled Depths) has its name not being quite what it should be.
The butterfly wings, like the angel wings should definitely become a glider skin. It would be hilarious!
The flying brooms and carpets should also be glider skins. Maybe it’d take some extra work for Anet but it would be amazing to actually fly with the flying carpet.
The rifle you use on the karka hunt isn’t available as a rifle skin. It’s a pretty cool looking rifle and sad that you can’t use it as a normal rifle.
I did take a look through the rifle skins at least and I couldn’t find it. Though maybe I’m blind.
The rifle skin is attached.
I’d like it better if outfits was like a choice pack, either the outfit or armour skins. Get the outfit for easy consistent looks while levelling or just not using transmute charges, or get armour skins so you can mix-n-match to your heart’s desire (though you’ll be using transmute charges).
But I guess people would complain about not getting both then.
I hear a lot about clipping on stuff on occasion, but I do consider this a bit worse than clipping. And besides, it’s been there since forever.
I present to you, the Marsh Drake. It doesn’t even look like it does on the picture.
There’s already light, medium and heavy armour for each Order. Don’t think we need more than that.
Pact armour would be neat though. Three distinct armour sets for each weight class, not an outfit.
What I’m trying to point at is that the so called uniform isn’t actually uniform. It’s awkward.
I’d love if the armour sets looked the same, but perhaps in the case of a real uniform an outfit would be a necessary “evil”?
The outfits of the orders look so different between the armour classes that they might well be part of completely different organizations is all. But perhaps I am alone in this opinion.
One thing that has had me thinking for a while, with the ever increasing presence of outfits in the game, is if there could be a uniform outfit for each of the three orders that make up the Pact.
It always bothered me that the uniform is not actually uniform. An outfit being able to be worn by all classes would be pretty neat for looking like a member of the Vigil, Priory or Whispers. Something I really like doing with my characters (Most notably the Vigil and Priory) but feel a bit locked into what professions these characters can be to be the most iconic so to speak.
I mentioned my thoughts to a guild member and they suggested it could be a missions reward from the personal story, received upon joining one of the three orders. It’s a neat idea, although I personally would not object to such a thing being either a gold or gem sink. Simply having the option to done a uniform to represent an order would be really cool, especially when levelling!
Perhaps this is something that could even be worked into the new living story for Heart of Thorns, or just released in the gemstore to tie into the story with the Pact being wrecked? Showing off your Pact pride in the face of such a crushing defeat would be amazing!
Chairs you can sit on.
This image is a perfect example of why this needs to happen and why I hope it will come in HoT.
This poor woman.
Hey there. Thanks for sharing the idea. I agree, it’s a beautiful weapon and it’s great you shared your thoughts.
I did a tiny edit to the subject line to ensure it catches the eye of a dev looking for suggestions. Hope that’s ok with you.
Thank you kindly!
The Norn trident skin is beautiful and it is a real shame that it is “wasted” on only being available for content that a vast majority of the playerbase would rather avoid and refuse to acknowledge.
It would make an excellent staff skin as well and it’s a really simple concept as well. Perhaps not as easy an implementation, I wouldn’t know. Either way, could it please be made into a staff skin, perhaps with other underwater-only skins?
Here is an attached image of the Norn trident skin for those who haven’t seen it.
Why isn’t there a cap to how many people can be pulled in through mega server.
Why isn’t there a limit for how many people aren’t on a map before mega server kicks in.
Good questions.
Did you think of this Anet?
