NVidia Users - Improve visuals w/o perf drop
in Account & Technical Support
Posted by: SlackerATC.5934
This is purely opinion and personal preference but I think and so others may as well this one small tweak makes the game look visually better.
1. Go to your NVidia Control Panel (right click on desktop, choose option)
2. Under display click on ‘Adjust desktop color settings’
3. Where it has ‘Apply the following enhancements’ scroll ‘Digital vibrance’ to the % you like. You can even have GW2 open while making the changes to see the difference. I use 80% as higher makes it look too washed out for me.
There should be no performance drop as this is only changing the way the colors are displayed, not the quality settings.
When you queue for a ranked game with a class you shouldn’t be able to change that class. Each class you play on should get it’s own skill rating. Just because I’m average with Class 1 doesn’t mean I’m the same with Class 2.
I believe this was addressed somewhere. I want to say I heard that this achievement and title will be awarded when the season ends.
As the title says. Community – Leaderboards leads to Internal Server Error.
Please if you DC while your team is losing just wait a few min and don’t come back before the match ends. It’s unlikely that the other 4 made some amazing comeback while you were gone. If you come back you’ll still lose a pip when the team loses. If you don’t come back it’s still just 1 pip loss but the rest of the team doesn’t have to suffer cause you are too poor to pay for good equipment and service.
Thanks
I wanted to encourage the more casual PvPers to give this Season a go if you’ve given up in the past, like I did.
Season 1 was ok for me. Played a lot of games for the achievements and ended up in Emerald.
Season 2 was horrible. Quit after 100 games or so without making it out of Amber.
Season 3 I played 10 ish games, won 2, and decided it wasn’t worth the rage of Season 2 again.
Season 4 I have 85 games played and am in Tier 3 of Sapphire. The best part is though the games, for the most part, feel fair and equal. I can make a difference to the team and most of the players seem to be of the same skill level.
I am a PvEer at heart and don’t consider myself good at PvP. If you are like me and want to be able to enjoy PvP but were put off by the absolute domination of seasons past, give it another shot and see if it’s changed for you too.
If these achievements get locked after this season that’s really not cool of Anet. Some sort of warning should have been in order when the season started. Maybe there’s people taking a break this season and were gonna finish the Part IV on season 5 and now they wouldn’t be able to and weren’t warned that they couldn’t.
I don’t work for Anet but I can still answer your questions.
To make it easy, just thing of a PvP Season and a ‘Year of Ascension’ differently. You can work on a current Part of the achievement section in any season. For example, if you need to cross 4 divisions, you could go from Amber to Emerald in 4 different seasons to get that part of the achievement. So no, achievements will not reset each season.
I read the first sentence. I like more wing options because it means people will use less of the one I have and thus my basic glider is more rare, and you can dye it.
Inside the Lions Arch Aerodrome is a Basic Magnetite Exchange Operative vendor who sells ascended items. Under the ‘Ascended Armor’ tab you can see two ‘Chest of Medium Helms.’ One is listed for 175 Magnetite Shards and 7.5G, the other for 400 Shards and 15G. There is no ‘Chest of Medium Coats.’ I’m guessing the helms listed for 400 Shards/15G is supposed to be coats. I have not purchased either item to see what actually opens.
Hopefully nobody bought the 400 Shard/15G box and only got the helm.
We did it guys. We…did….it!
I’m sorry, but should poor players be winning? It’s a ladder. You climb it when you are better than the people below you.
If you aren’t, well, then you are where you belong.
It’s a league. A league where all participants are forced to play in the highest tier. This is like you trying to compete in the Olympics.
So they made a decision to allow poor players to lose pretty much every game for more than a week? That’s a good way to keep the player’s coming.
‘Just give it a few days and it will balance out’
It didn’t.
What GW2 are you playing? This is not my PvP experience in the least.
Just came here to post the exact same thing. +1
I’m have to agree with this. At the very least, allow the XP gained after a mastery is filled to roll into a ‘will apply to the mastery trait selected next’ type of system so it still counts. It’s a little frustrating when you are VERY near to the mastery level and then to get a big chunk of XP via event or whatever and have most of it wasted, or not notice your bar is filled and continue to do events for some time and waste it.
In Verdant Brink the Outpost: Pact Encampment event chain has always gotten stuck for me at the part where you have to rescue/interrogate the Sylvari. No event bubbles pop up and when I talk to the main guy it points me to an area but nothing is going on there.
Crashes may be related to EVGA Precision X16

Glad this helped some folks. I was fearful of my new build after reading some of the not so good posts but glad everything has potential to be ok if I just keep things to default.
Crashes may be related to EVGA Precision X16

I’m not sure if this helps anybody but here is what I have experienced.
On my laptop I have a NVIDIA GeForce 660m card. It has worked great for 2 years. I recently decided to overclock it a bit with EVGA Precision X16 and found that it will crash GW2 although other games run fine. What I experience is a black box around my GW2 cursor and if I WP or open up the world map it crashes to the desktop with no error. When I set the clocks back to default the crash still happens. I then restarted my computer and did not run Precision and the game did not crash.
I just built a new desktop with a NVIDIA GeForce 970. I have not even tried to overclock it but with Precision running I experienced the same crash. That happened twice. Once I closed Precision and ran the game I have been playing just fine for over an hour now.
Both systems are on Windows 10 with the latest NVIDIA driver. All I am saying here is that there MAY be an issue with EVGA Precision X16 and GW2. It could be something else entirely. I have read lots of post with problems people are relating to NVIDIA drivers, Windows 10, and overclocking.

The great thing about this game is that although you’re in a guild, you can still play with other people from other guilds. Your 5 man guild can match up with another 5 man guild and do the raid together. Maybe you’ll even fall in love and become a 10 man guild. Then you absorb another 5 man guild to become a 15 man guild and now you have guild halls.
Can you add this to your list:
In PvP when a Ranger dies and goes to respawn, for a split second the pet comes back where the player died at. It will trigger any trap type skills set down.
Actually I don’t know if its any of these types of skills, but I can say for certain it will trigger my Spike Trap and Flame Trap if I put them down. Its kinda annoying cause I want to lay them ASAP so I can be ready for the next fight but I have to wait to see the Ranger respawn first.
Unfortunately I was never in the right place at the right time to try the other 2 adventures available but I did quite a bit of Tendril Torcher. Here’s my opinion:
Expectations: The Adventure was a little different than I expected. I had misinterpreted the blog post and thought that Adventures would all be instanced and every player would be on an equal page, so I was surprised that the Adventure was in the main world. After re-reading the post they did make that clear that some would be instanced and others not. I was also expecting Adventures to be standard to all players, that is to say one person wouldn’t have any advantage over another in terms of utility use, etc. However, I had to take advantage of a Mesmer portal in order to reach the Gold level. Personally I would prefer this type of adventure to be standard so that a specific class doesn’t have an advantage over another (obviously DPS test type ones would be different).
Difficulty: The difficulty was pretty much what I expected for this type of Adventure (do as much as you can within a time limit). The 3 tiers of rewards gives you something to strive for. My first run was about 45 tendrils or so, and I knew I had a ways to go. The devs did a really good job making the Adventure so that you can understand it immediately, but if you want to excel at it your going to have to try different things and start forming a pattern that works best for you. It took probably 4 cycles of the event chain (when the Adventure opens) before I felt I could make a decent run at the top tier.
Leaderboards: I like the fact that there is a leaderboard, but it is very limited. It would be nice to be able to see the entire board, either in game or on the website. The Top 3 should be emphasized more as well, maybe as a separate part of the window with the gold/silver/bronze colored highlights. It would also be nice for the Adventures where class will matter to have the profession icon next to the name so others can see what class they did it with and maybe give them an idea of how to better their score.
Specifics: For Tendril Torcher the gameplay itself is pretty good. Sometimes on my try-for-Gold runs I felt that I had hit all the tendrils but when I finished my lap I would be at 138 or 139. I do wish there was an easier way to make sure you had torched the tendril in question. They are a bit small and some are slightly hidden. A simple solution would be to make the counter larger so you can check it easily throughout the run. Eventually I knew how many tendrils I should be at for my pattern at specific points in the run. I also wasn’t a huge fan that from far away you could see the name tag easily but once you got close it would fade away.
Restarts: In the blog post they mentioned how for Adventures it should be easy to restart a run whenever you want too, or at least that’s how I interpreted it. I found that the only way to do that is to run outside of the adventure area or somehow die. Now I may have missed something, but I would have enjoyed having a restart button somewhere to immediately end your run and take you back to the start. There’s times when just 30 seconds into the run or so you knew you weren’t going to make the time limit and just wanted a fresh run at it.
Overall I had a lot of fun and very little frustration at that particular Adventure. I’m especially excited because there where 3 Adventures in a fairly small area so that makes me think that there will be a variety of Adventures to try when the expansion comes out. Two things on my wish list are Adventures using content that already exists in the game and Adventures that are speed runs of Jumping Puzzles.

My understanding is that Agony Resistance (AR) mitigates the damage taken from the condition, Agony. Its been a long time since I’ve run a FotM without appropriate AR but as far as I know you don’t need 70 AR to run anything under a 50. For 1-9 you shouldn’t need anything because Agony isn’t introduced in that range. There’s a chart here that tells how much mitigation you will get at a certain fractal level with a specified amount of AR.
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Agony
I would then assume that when the Fractal level cap is increased, you will need more AR to mitigate the damage from Agony. If that chart was allowed to continue in the same pattern it is currently, it will take 145 AR to mitigate the damage to 1% per tick at level 100.

Right on, thanks.
Hello helpful people, I’m looking for a list of tonics that you can use that still allow you to jump. If you know of any can you please post here? I appreciate your assistance.
When I try to access the leaderboards to see my rank I get stuck in a silly loop that I cant seem to figure out.
The Process:
(not logged in)
Community -> Leaderboards -> Log-in
(takes me to the new log in page, enter information, click Submit)
Takes me to “My Account” page
Click top-left GUILDWARS2.COM (back to home page)
Community -> Leaderboards (but still not logged in)
Clicking “Log-in” take me directly back to My Account
Any tips?
Both characters I logged into it shows everything reset still and I cant make progress on my current track. Of all the bugs right now this disappoints me the most because I made a mini-goal to complete all the tracks and I had finished but now they are all reset.
I’m not top of the leaderboard or anything but several achievements have been reset although the points still appear to be intact.
Achievement Resets:
Story Journal: All
General: All The Silverwastes, All Dry Top, Tradesman Legendary Tarrktun Supporter, Explorer related to the LS, Fashion Forward, Troll’s Revenge JP
Collections: All
General Resets:
All training lines reset although previously unlocked Skills and Specializations remain available.
All PvP reward tracks reset and progress cannot be made on them. Unlocked dungeon tracks via Story are locked again.
All unlocked LS2 episodes are now locked and available for purchase.
Dailies.
Matchmaking relies to heavily on rank rather than skill. I am terrible but I go for APs so I have lots of games and a high rank. I only see Phoenix and Dragon ranks now but really should be playing Deer level. I typically play 2 hours and end up about 2-8 WLR.
Two lines of the PvP Statistics page are displaying numbers rather than the proper text. These should be “Team Arena Games Won” and “Solo Arena Games Won” I believe.
Written on the ‘Potion of PvP Reward’ is the number 250. If 1 potion is 50% of a sub-tier,that means 500 gets your first reward, 2500 is needed for each tier, and 20000 needed for the full track.
RTP=Reward Track Points
Based on your pixel calculations:
1 Potion = 250RTP (1.25% total track)
Hot Join Win = 445RTP (2.225% total track)
Arena Loss = 345RTP (1.725% total track)
Arena Win = 695RTP (3.475% total track)
This does not factor in the +10% buff available.

5 Dragon ball wins a day, are you serious? I really want to play a luck based pvp game for an hour every day, thanks.
I think it’s bogus that projectiles will still follow you when you go stealth. Especially vs. the ranger rapid fire skill. When I play thief you’re either forced to double dodge to avoid most of the damage or run like hell. Stealth should be a way of evasion from ranged shots.
Not specifically just dungeon, but that would be a good and useful start. I’m thinking in your hero panel under Achievements there is a tab called “Daily Content” or something along those lines. Then when you expand it there will be the specific categories such as World Bosses, Dungeons, JP’s, etc. When you click that category it opens the main tab and just like achievements the one’s you’ve done will be colored and the one’s you have not will be dull.
I suppose it could be its own tab, but I thought you could also add it to the achievement tab since it would work very similar to them.
Well, I thought it was a good idea. 1/1mil.
This is an idea I’ve had for a while that I think would be useful, but it wasn’t until this new Daily system that it occurred to me how it could be easily implemented.
Basically, it would be a system to keep track of what Daily Reset content you have done. I’m talking about things like dungeon paths, FotM tiers, world bosses, etc. All that it would need is it’s own category in the Achievements panel, with the various content as sub-items. They would be worth 0 AP’s and no reward, and it really wouldn’t even need to pop up on the right hand side when completed it. Just an area to reference in case you forget what you’ve already done for the day. Anything that is reset on the new day could be included, even jumping puzzle chests, shard infusing, using Mawdrey, etc. There might be some PvP and WvW application to it but as I’m just a PvE player I wouldn’t know.
Just a thought.
My GW2 Experience
A friend introduced me to GW2 shortly after launch and is my first MMO. I quickly fell in love with it and have missed maybe 30 days of Dailies since then. I am an achievement hunter by nature and thus my play style revolves around content that gets me more AP’s. Mostly this relates to PvE content, but I play (although not good at) PvP and very seldom WvW. Currently I am working towards Dungeoneer title (all dungeon armor and weapons) and all PvP class achievements. I have been co-leader of a 300+ member guild for the last year and a half but am looking to step away from that and just enjoy being a member again. I have a Level 80 of each profession, all of which have 100% map completion and personal story done. My main is a Guardian but I’m also descent with Warrior. The other toons are mostly used for bank space now.
About the Guild
I would like a guild that has 20+ members on and repping during NA primetime. I don’t particularly need guild buffs although they are a nice perk. Nor do I require access to a guild bank. Members should be friendly and helpful with active chat, both in game and via a voice server. I prefer TS3 but am familiar with Ventrillo and Mumble. I want to be involved in a community not just another member. What keeps me playing is Dungeon/FotM and Living Story releases so I would like a guild where I can find other members to group up with for these events. Guild Missions are a good start but there should also be other weekly events (map completion, JP, games, lottery, etc). Not particularly looking for PvP or WvW guild events although I may join on occasion.
Thought mine stopped just under 300. Guess I’m wrong though. Sorry that didn’t help.
Yes, this is a little brag, sorry if that offends anyone.
Got lucky and was given a clean Clocktower instance with full 15 minute timer. Nailed a perfect run and got a score of 7. Pretty stoked because the last two times this event came out I only got to 5.
Post your top scores so I can celebrate with you!

Just adding my name to the ‘does not work’ group.
I’m wondering if there are specific champ bags that make this trigger. I say this because not all champ bags of the same tier and same name will stack, so somewhere there is a slight difference in them. But I thought that happened when they changed the way champs drop loot.
A year ago it seems average gold was less than 100. Bringing it back, what about now?
When the Mordem attack the World Leaders, who did you save first?
I went for the asura, Phlunt I believe, because he’s worthless and couldn’t defend himself from a fly. Figured he would need some help. Then I went for Queen Jenna, cause although I’m sure she could stand her own, she’s hot and I felt I should save her and earn some brownie points. Then the charr guy. He seemed to be doing alright though with his buddies but mainly I saved him next because I knew Knut would be fine. Knut’s a bad mofo that pretty much taught my entire race how to crush the enemies so I know he would be fine on his own. He was probably a little kittened I ended his fight early to be honest.
What order did you go in and why?
Well, the good news is you don’t have to look at the front of your character much. The bad news is I wouldn’t expect to see a fix for this anytime soon, or ever.
Because Robin Williams voiced the Genie in Aladdin?
I save them on a Necro alt that I will never play (not that I don’t like them, just not my playstyle). I had 20 slot bags on him but switched those to a Ranger to hold the Ascended Rings instead. Except for Dragonite Ore (cause as you can see I need 1 more stack to fill the inventory, recently just made an ascended armor set) I delete all the stacks I get now of the other 2 mats as I feel that this supply will cover me for whatever might come up. I’m hoping that someday all this ascended stuff will be useful for some reason or another, especially the rings. Also hoping to fill 100 slots with rings including a regular and infused version of each ring currently available.
The Warrior’s Discipline III trait called Warrior’s Sprint has a mis-spelling in the skill fact. As it reads in game, “You move faster while wieding melee weapons.”
I’m not an English major, but I believe ‘wieding’ should be ‘wielding.’
Proof below.
