Hey guys, I’m looking for a guild to do HoT stuff, meya events and organised map events and things you sound like nice people and ATM I’m getting sick of exploring this jungle alone and in empty maps!!
How much HoT stuff are u guys doing as a guild?
Appreciate your comments!
Sad to hear about condition specs But yeh, I am downloading now.. might as well give it a try I guess.
I hear what you’re saying, but I think “end game” refers to elite, challenging content that can only be done at max level. And yeh… I am a little bummed out with GW2’s total lack of challenging content…
TBH I might just reinstall for WvW and PvP xD
Hello folks! After nearly a year away from Guild Wars 2 I am considering coming back to the game. I’d like to ask some questions and get a general sense of where the game is at before I make up my mind though ^.^ I’d love to get some feedback from the current player base before I commit to things like a server transfer, buying gems etc etc…
- The state of condition specs, healing, and tanking.
In every other MMO and RPG I’ve ever played I play condition and DoTs, that’s my jam, that’s what I love.
I found GW2 had a major issue with condition spec and support roles in that because they had “no holy trinity” they created a game where outright damage was king, and where it was better to melee stack and kill a mob as quick as possible rather than trying to heal or DoT them.
Has this changed? Are condition damage dealers viable in high end PvE settings?
- Is there a challenge for PvEers?
One of THE main reasons I left gw2 was because of the highly repetitive and monotonous state of end-game PvE. Fractals are great and fine, and challenging but they were pretty much the only challenge for PvEers. Dungeon speed runs were fun but got extremely boring after a while.
Is there more variety at end game? Is there an end game at all?
I’d love to hear some thoughts and honest opinions. Is it better to wait until HoT? are the issues that made me decide to stop playing still there? <3
Thanks for your time folks
- Yak
This is definitely more “team friendly” build – and it has over 51^ crit chance (plus fury ofc) to take advantage of that sweeeeet crit dmg from having to invest 30 into valor in order to commit to meditations.
Slotting the 10 in virtues in order to reduce the cooldown on consecrations is worth it if you AREN’T plan on going with more than 1 person, because purging flames is also a consecration – and a pretty sick source of cond removal and dmg. At the moment, without purging flames, cond removal is probably the major weakness of the build – which is personally why I would switch to hammer/gs for whirl > cleansing bolts through your symbol of protection (hammer) for some self cleanse.
To OP; I would say that using a meditation build without going at least 20 (or 30) into valor is a potential weakness- sure go 15/15 – but don’t then rely on meditations, as without a cooldown reduction, the recharge is gnarly :E – Also, valor is the crit damage trait line, + some zerk ,+ all that fury = hard hitting crits (at least until they change it to ferocity :PPP)
To those saying “shouts or gtfo” – perma protection and regen is a great way to support your team, being able to cleansing whirl for party wide cond removal (assuming your party knows how to stack) is so much better than traiting into cond removal on shouts… which since they only remove 1 are pretty darn pathetic. – plus outright heals are patheticly low, and we all know when it comes to the meta: direct dmg > everything else, and damage mitigation/avoidance > healing
Guardian shouts are dull to play, dps guardians DO have a purpose in this game, and they can be incredibly powerful – rather than those who have a full heal build with zerk gear… gs and staff and basically act as an empower bot… they actually do dmg AND provide support for the team. It also helps if you have a team of competant players, who know their class, have the ability to might stack and blast fire fields, know how to dodge, and have their OWN way of mitigating damage, not just rely on a guardian to carry them through.
Traditional guardian roles (healer shouts) make it able to carry 4 lazy players through a dungeon/fractal, but at high end this is not enough. Boss attacks one shot you if you get hit, so it’s much important that you can dodge rather than you have cond removal on shouts…The new meta for guards is zerker
High end, it’s always about damage, damage, damage. Hammer damage is pretty sexy, and I really enjoy the flexibility, mobility and damage/support hybrid that meditation play can give – give constructive opinions, not just “you’re gimping your team if you don’t run shouts and wor”
In my opinion, you can’t have the same gear set for WvW and PvE and expect to be fully effective in both fields.
WvW is a different game to PvE, in PvE power and direction damage > conditions, DoTs and CC, but quite the opposite is true in WvW. And I say this with a sad face because I adore necromancer condition gameplay… but in pve I have swapped to a dagger/AoEwell based power build that only uses minions (bone minions) for their double blast finishers for might stacking or blind spam from wells.
In spvp minions are amazing and I love them, and in small scale fights in WvW they are also valuable, however if you are talking zerg fights then they just get steam rolled by the AoE :/ they simple won’t stay alive long enough to justify their cooldowns and trait useage, so I rather focus on staff/scepter, focus and ranged wells for zerg fights (in which case, Carrion for power AND cond dmg is useful). Powerwell necromancers are pretty kitten as well… although condition damage is nice, I actually prefer raw dmg output investing more in power.
Because I’m a cheap skate and I cba to get swap out accessories (and grind for two sets of them…) I stick with zerker jewellery, and swap out the gear sets. the generic zerk/scholar (or ranger if playing with minions) for dungeons, and carrion/sunless or ranger for WvW.
I see a lot of people worried about conditions being too strong, they suck in pve, but in pvp they are king. It’s because pvp and pve are two different games, and really should be treated thus. I would like to stress that I believe the best way to balance this game is to fully split pvp and pve. Like, different skills, different traits, or as in gw1, split stats of skills, base line dmg, pet health, etc etc.
Games like this will always have a meta, direct dmg will ALWAYS be favoured in speed runs, because no matter how hard you make it, good players will always favour direct dmg, and the ability to use positioning/endurance control to their advantage. That said, I personally despise the zerker/scholar meta… it’s boring, face tanking is BORING, stacking is BORING. Yes it is “optimal”, yes it is quick, yes it is mathematically the best way to get gold/hour, but it isn’t FUN
I have a couple of points and suggestions which I am sure echo that of many people’s previous posts
a) to fix the balance the key is giving us equally GOOD options, not just nerfing the strongest one. I would not want zerk to be completely useless.. but I would love to see healing power coefficients dramatically increased so that healers have a purpose, maybe if they got access to runes that boosted party member damage when at 90% health or something (similar to scholar bonus), or a way of making conditions attractive in pve.
b) The holy trinity is also, a lazy mechanic. Having one person hold aggro, whilst everyone else hits it in the face, is a lazy mechanic, it is boring, and the BEST thing about gw2 is that it does not have a holy trinity requirement. Giving us OPTIONS means MORE than just dps/healer/tank.
c) The key to this problem, is actually a rather big thing, it’s basically the entire pve combat system. PvE enemies are not challenging. Because of a lack of combat variety. I saw a brilliant post which detailed some possible mechanics for bosses, but honestly.. why not have this for normal mobs too? Boss fights are hit and miss, some have really fun mechanics but the normal mobs are the real dirge of the game. No wonder people just skip them
At the moment, the fractal difficulty scaling = higher level = MOOOOOOAR MOBS = MOOOOAR STACKING because you have to kill them before they kill you, if you aren’t full dps you get overwhelmed and wipe. BUT wouldn’t a cooler mechanic be, the higher the difficulty, the more combat mechanics the mob ai has access to?? e.g.
1-10 = mobs fight like normal, 10-20 mobs have acccess to a dodge, 20-30 mobs have access to dodges, AND projectile reflects, 30-40 mobs have access to dodges, projectile reflects AND melee counter attacks etc etc < this is a random, bad example :P but you get the idea? the fights should be harder because you have to pay attention, you have to look at the mobs, you have to dodge, evade, time your skills – Don’t just give us hoards of mindless enemies! I would rather fight FEWER, BETTER enemies, than a mindless blob, especially at higher levels
d) Final point: this game rewards lazy players. (sorry guys, but it’s true), and that’s ok… that’s part of being “casual” – it’s not a bad thing in itself. The bad thing is not having anything for the people that aren’t lazy, for those that want a CHALLENGE! IMO dungeons should NOT be easy, they should NOT be a face roll. They should be challenging, they should be interesting, and they should be REWARDING. At the moment there is no real challenge to this game, at least nothing that isn’t a straight gear check (fractals) and a zerk faceroll fest…
Maybe we could learn some things from WoW… and one of those things is RAID STYLE CONTENT – dungeon runs on a bigger scale, things that are truly challenging. Things that take weeks to get right, things that guarantee you glory and richness and awesomeness when you DO finally get it done! Things that make you legends.
Raid style content is NOT for everyone, but you would make it totally optional and have it there for the hard core players who are bored out of their skulls and desperately wanting something to do. Even “hard mode” dungeons would achieve this – even “8 man dungeons” would achieve this, it doesn’t have to be a massive scale. I remember doing Urgoz Warren and The Deep in parties of 12… and yes, that was the MOST fun I have had in gw, ever
Parties of 5 are great… but having that as the only option limits this game exceedingly.*
I really hope anet listens to this community, if they balls up this balance they could potentially make every full ascended zerker in the game rage quit and never come back :P
search function fail facepalm ty for this, have sent off a ticket. Fingers crossed 1200 gems would be nice to have to spend on the new stuff xD
Hi guys, sorry if this has been asked but I couldn’t find it in search (maybe I’m searching the wrong thing…)
Anyway, I bought 4 mining picks in total, but now I would only like 2, 2 have remained in my bank, unused but now that they are account bound I figured I don’t need 4.
I heard rumours of a refund option if people send of a support ticket? can anyone confirm this?
TY for help
You guys need to come up with a plan on what you want the Ranger to do. If you want it to have a realistic power options you need to sit down and determin what makes power builds for other classes work and figure what the class is missing.
Right now I’m just not seeing anything to move the Ranger in a direction other than strictly condition bunker with pet support. Nearly every change you made will impact this entirely.
Longbow damage is hardly what is holding back power Rangers. It’s the complete lack of burst, AE, utility, and focus of the class overall. I’m still unable to tell what the Ranger class is even supposed to do in GW2.
Didnt you see the livesteam? Our job is to auto attack with sword (which is working as intended…) to attack two targets at once (apparently we should lock our brown bear on another target to the one we are attacking…) and to hit 2 on wrongbow. Troll. Lol. Lol.
Poor rangers. They are strong in pvp, but doesn’t change the fact that the pets are a broken mechanic that are holding every ranger player back. These “fixes” are all so pvp biased… they are completely ignoring the dire state of conditions in pve (which affects all professions and anyone that wanted to run condition spec…) failing to address the boring facerolling “zerker meta” (I think I have encountered maybe one or two bosses that can’t be beaten by melee stacking and facetanking in zerk gear by 4 warriors and a mes/guard…).
I was always against a split at first.. but the more pvp changes continue to hurt pve, the more I am starting to see the appeal of a total split between pve and pvp. Personally I would like to see totally separate skills, totally separate traits. I know that isn’t going to happen but a girl can dream….
Christmas is going to be a big decider for me (and a lot of people I know). The living SNORE-y (lol) is just zerging meta achievements for back piece of the week, the armor skins are pretty but the gameplay of the last few story instalments have been seriously lacking. 2 weeks is too fast, they are creating a treadmill for themselves and for players, atm it feels like we have to grind to stay still… They have promised a lot of things by the end of the year… new fractals, ascended armor, craftable precursors, wvw overflow map… I just hope that they can pull it all off and give people a range of satisfying end games.
This game has so much potential, but atm I am fatigued by the uninspiring biweekly updated… it’s such a shame, they could do SO MUCH, new weapons, new skills, new utilities could give so much LIFE and vigor to the professions! I want to see a range of builds, a range of playstyles, not just everyone running the saaaaame thing. It’s boring, atm the game is boring. And that is a shame :/
I love this game, I played gw1 for 8 years and I think in almost every way gw2 is a better game, but it’s been a year… and I dont care if people say they are different teams… the living story is taking focus and resources away from changes that people really wanted to see happen. It’s an admirable aim to have a living mmo, and I applaud their vision, just not the execution.
I just wanted to say that I am sorry about getting angry in my original post, this is, after all, a game – but it’s amazing how a couple of bad people can really ruin your day x.x so I apologise because I was quite ragey It happened to another five people in my guild and quite upset them before it happened to me (dunno if same guys doing the whispering… never thought to screenie them) so I went all V for vendetta x.x
It was wrong of me to tar everyone in Teq guilds with the same brush based on a few kitten holes, and I appreciate that the majority of members aren’t like that. However I still think that the structure of the Teq event alienates a lot of players rather than unites them. I do hope that something major is done to revitalise Teq because the overflow system and long spawn window have pretty much killed this event for 98% of the player base.
The problem is that conflict; you want people to join, you want people to be included in the event in this big attempt… and yet if you advertise the server will fill up and everyone will be pushed to overflow… so it creates the need to keep times “secret” and to keep overflow locations all hushed up.. and that is a shame, because it ultimately undermines the community of the server itself. That isn’t the fault of Teq guilds though, it is the fault of Anet for making a good event with terrible peripheral mechanics like them bloody overflows… a shame indeed. This event could’ve been epic :/
Anyway yes, my rage is done, I have moved into WvW for the majority of my “end game” so now Kodash and Elonas Reach are a good way to funnel any excess aggression) Ty all, I appreciate the discussion, and I appreciate those taking the time to talk me down and make me re-evaluate my original knee-jerk reaction
Peace <3
There are some quick fixes (scaling, time limit, loot drops) that could make this fight more accessible, but I believe the major changes (and the hardest to implement) are really needed, not just in this aspect of the game.
The overflow system… “system” being a strong word here >.> what was meant to be an “emergency for beta” is now a staple part of the game in this big meta events. I seriously think that introducing “districts” (gw1 style) where you could CHOOSE and clearly see which overflow/district you were in, make it EASIER to organise attempts, make it easier to do things like guild missions, bounties, champ farming etc etc etc. It would improve so many aspects of the game.
The deepest problem is at the heart of their content plan; push new (generic and boring) content out every 2 weeks…and forget about the old stuff. They dont need to fix teq, they are distracting everyone with backpieces and mini pets… screw the permanent content! They don’t care, they are pushing this crappy living story way too hard. Good ideas but it has become a meta achievement treadmill and it’s SO DULL. The player base has given up on Teq too, I have seen maybe one teq attempt a day? and that is on SFR… I cannot imagine it EVER gets done on smaller servers :/ people have just given up on it, which is a shame, because it really was quite fun when I wasn’t dc-ing and getting booted into a kittenty overflow :PP
There are two main issues which need addressing as I see it, and personally I see it in this order:
1. Fix Queues
There is nothing more frustrating than sitting in a WvWvW queue. It has multiple problems – specificallly:
- those that do it most only want to WvWvW
- we can’t level up other characters while we wait because we want to go in on our main WvWvW character (alts and WXP another topic, right?)
- the queues don’t work so sometimes I get in within seconds while a guild mate has been queued for hours
- we can only queue for one BL at a time
- we have no idea what the queues are like
So I would like to see:
- Priority: The queues fixed so it takes people in the order they queued
- Priority: The ability to see a breakdown per BL of how busy each queue is and an estimated wait time (done so well in other games)
- Wish list – ability to queue for multiple BLs
- Wish list – ability to swap chars without leaving WvWvW (it is so alt unfriendly with WXP already, long queues just make it more so)
2. Fix Population/Server Imbalance
OK so we now how this goes now, there is nothing new here and nothing hinted at that would solve this. I don’t feel I need to write out what the problems are because everyone knows them. Possible solutions:
- Server Alliances. Ally servers (as many as six) to colors dramatically reducing the number of WvWvW servers. Allows lower tiered servers to group up and compete against (for example) the top 3 in NA. Could also help with night coverage as well if done right and can be varied whenever required to take account of population shifts.
- Make server transfer costs dependant on WvWvW rank, quite frankly I don’t know why a PvE only player would transfer anyway – just quest.
- Encourage guilds to move to lower rank WvWvW servers (less gold or no cost at all, add feature to lower tiered servers only where they can retain guild bank and status etc).
- Get rid of leagues until you have a proper system implemented, the leagues are just making an already severe problem worse.
- Increase rewards for WvWvW, I don’t believe lower tier servers have a lower population in total just that WvWvW is not their game type or WvWvW is far less profitable (and has less access to mats, ascended items and is far less lucrative for gold than a champ run).
- Introduce unique items for WvWvW like skins (yup, dungeons have them) and other goodies that people will want to get and these items should not be linked to “winning” or dominating the tier.
See, not a single kitten in there. Oh wait…
ALL of this. Seriously. I am astounded that Anet added leagues with server population in an already hideous state… not only did they not even consider that maybe overflow or queue system update would be needed, they actually reduced the gem cost for server transfers… ENCOURAGING this imbalance.
My guild is on SFR, we have been since beta (mostly cos we liked the name being old Luxon fans)) so we find ourselves in tier1 mostly by luck. The fluidity of server transfers, and the new league meant that people swarmed to this server…and as a result the community of the server has been completely lost under a homogeneous pug zerg. People haven’t integrated, they have made no attempt to bond, and that is because server loyalty DOES NOT EXIST…at least not in the big servers. At times I have considered moving us to a med to pop server with a decent community.
Having prizes that are influenced by position in the league will only make these problems worse, people will flock to the server they think will win, do nothing, not join TS, not contribute to wvw, but they just assume that they can faceroll and we will auto win… week 1 showed just how wrong they were.
Don’t even get me started on the kitten meta achievements… so you create a series of achievements with awesome reward (mini dolly <33) make it tough, and pretty grindy, to be stretched out over 7 weeks….that’s fine. Give it to everyone on all servers to work towards…. then make a system so that only 200 people from each server can be working on it at once. Brilliant. Bit like Teq, only much worse because these achievements take a long time. They are grinding as hell. I just spent 5 hours circle capping ruins, because of the kitten queues I had no idea when I would get back in.
I am moving more and more into wvw as the “endgame” but seriously things need to improve, because people are losing patience really quick :/
Repeated bad experiences, but I am more commenting upon the generally disgusting attitude that someone has more of a right to take part in an event because of a guild tag… treating open world content like a raid is stupid. That attitude doesnt come from one person, it comes from a collective.
I am not blaming the people that join the guild, I know how frustrating it is to repeatedly fail teq, and the original purpose behind creating a teq only guild makes sense, but this attitude of “guild only” isn’t fair, and it isn’t fitting in an online community that has always been praised for being friendly and inclusive. The way that the overflow system works is awful, and the primary cause of all teq-related pain and suffering, but you cannot blame random players for the failure of an event, who are you to say that they aren’t contributing enough? or that someone else has a “right” to their spot? That attitude makes me incredibly angry.
It goes directly against the whole “servers as a community” attitude. why not spread the information about teq attempts? why not encourage more people to take part? why not help them?
So, disclaimer, I understand that Teq specific guilds were formed because of failings to do with the design of this event and the overflow system – not being able to clearly see an “Overflow map” or being able to easily swap between them adds a sense of lottery to this event, if you don’t camp out the main, you’re screwed, if you dc and have to log back in, you’re screwed. So it was bad design choices that led to people thinking that they needed to set up dedicated guilds to take down teq…. but… spoiler alert, you don’t :P
Guilds like TSS (not the wvw one) and TKS are not guilds formed out of loyalty or community or friendship, they are a means to an end, to farm a world boss.
I logged in to teq, and was put in an overflow… nothing new there. What was new is that some kitten y little squit whispered me claiming that “this is a TSS only overflow, LEAVE NOW”…. to which I politely asked him to suck on balthazar’s blasted left nipple. To my delight the attempt failed… which showed that even “elite” groups like that still eff up. The biggest threat to failure on teq is afk people, NOT pugs….
Claiming that you “own” an overflow is laughable, but it would be intimidating to those that haven’t done it before, or who genuinely think they are in the wrong and log out to try and switch… In an attempt to undermine this disgusting attitude I myself have joined such guilds, pretty much only to get info on which overflow it is and when, and pass on the info to guild members, spread it about in lions arch and generally make it well known. But on the other hand I have had friends who have joined such guilds but have then been “too scared” to invite their own friends… for fear of being “discovered”… I mean… seriously? You are always going to prioritise your real friends over some glorified zerg with a matching tag.
I can only hope that the more random players that get to learn about teq, the more random UNORGANISED attempts will succeed. The tactics are well known by now, and there isn’t much of an excuse not to do basic things like way point when you are dead, or spam jump at the shockwaves – and even the more niche tactics like fire elemental powder, elementalist conjure weapons, ogre warhorn, these are not “new” tactics, and they are not complex. People are learning them. Soon we won’t need dedicated Teq-only guilds, and they will die out, and for that I cannot wait.
In the meantime I urge people to carry on infiltrating these wannabe elitist and making their “oh so secret” information public puts on V for Vendetta mask – because this is not WoW, teq is NOT a raid… it is OPEN world content… the clue is in the name folks…. you shouldn’t have to join a specific guild to do certain content, and thankfully, you DON’T. Long live the PUG revolution
(edited by SlappedYak.7489)
Find a party, dude.
no…really? :P the thought hadn’t occurred to me…
Wait.. Did you just say they beat him on an OVERFLOW!?!!
This can’t be possible. Hundreds of people on this forum have said there is no possible way to EVER beat Tequatl on an overflow server…………………………..
It was via teamspeak, everyone did an organised transfer to the overflow that one of the commanders was in. It took the best part of an hour to get everyone over (by joining party, joining the right overflow then leaving and reforming) but they did it, 130+ people on teamspeak, plus other lucky pugs ;D So yes, it really was on overflow.
So my server, SFR, just beat Teq. I imagine a thread and an awesome video chronically the whole thing will be up shortly. I was part of the community on teamspeak, I diligently went to the correct overflow, reformed my party, gathered my guildies, handed out free undead slayer tonics to any that wanted, and waited. Teq spawned, I had two minutes of nail biting dodging and might stack spamming, and it was going great, really well in fact, the teams on the turrets were kicking kitten . And then the lag hit me… 10s skill lag, 20s… 1minute, 2 minutes… I got to the point where the people on TS had just beaten the battery but on my screen they had only just got him to 75%! Then I dc-ed..got kicked off my precious overflow, away from all my friends. Following their progress via TS, I could hear them all, the crazy tension the excitement and I was so happy for them all when they beat him.
The thing is, this keeps happening. The only way to beat this guy is using a massive organised group, but if you dc every time there are more than 50+ people on screen, and then get kicked off your overflow… then you’ve wasted all that time. It’s not about loot, it’s about time and not being able to celebrate with my community, it’s about having to camp a particular overflow and absolutely dread dc’s. I’ve wasted 4 whole afternoons now, and every time I am getting more and more frustrated. It’s not about difficulty – that is perfect. Except it doesnt scale. Normal pug overflows have no chance. Low pop servers have no chance. If you’re in an overflow, you might as well log out, because it’s not going to happen. Without TS you simply cannot communicate well enough.
I feel I need to take a break from teq, because it is not the way I want to play, I can’t keep spending my entire gaming time camping out a map, it’s not fair to casual gamers. If there was a way of having “districts” (i.e. overflows that you could see and clearly choose) then things would be better, but having no control over your overflow is deeply upsetting. And frankly it’s not worth it.
Not completing an event deserves no reward in my opinion, the fact that you still get dragon chests for FAILING an event is, in my eyes, baffling. If anet have truly learnt from the Invasion fiasco (i.e. it was more “profitable” to let an event fail and farm it, than to actually bother completing it…) then they will keep the rewards for failure low.
HOWEVER, the rewards for winning, I agree, sound pathetic. We’ve got like what… 5 servers that have beaten him now? I have seen zero mention of ascended skins, I have seen zero mention of any worthwhile loot. Yes part of it is the challenge, the thrill and the pride in being part of a massive co-ordinated server wide attempt – I don’t farm, I don’t pve for the loot, I pve because I find it fun. However, the 2hours spent camping out the main server (cos if you’re in overflow, you’re screwed, give up now) for each spawn… only to fail, again and again and again, are to not fun. Not to me. I am going to need a pretty epic dangling carrot for me to want to try anything more than twice a day from now on.
Greens from chests… are just completely inexcusable. And frankly “at least 1 rare” is pathetic.
I think a really really amazing addition are these “achievement chests” – WHY NOT have an achievement chest assosiated with teq?? It would reduce farming, AND give people a clear carrot to aim for…
OP is exactly right. So far we’ve failed twice, because people in the turrets weren’t even attacking Teq… and the worst part is you can’t boot them off, if they’re kitten then you won’t even get past the first stage! So unless you have people camping out the seige on each overflow… it’s just not going to happen.
OFC this is just day 1… so it’s understandable that people have no idea what to do but I am worried that my ability to get shiny loot and beautiful wings (grmbl) depends on other people… and I don’t like other people >.>
Also, what is up the with strength of the adds? o.o I can understand vets and champs but I was two shotted by a single NORMAL risen thrall…. and I am a tanky build :/ I agree having an event that can fail is a good thing, I even agree that a time limit is a good thing, but having an event that fails in a really short time period… because of a few people, is stressing me out.
Official response on the Lag issues please?

Nice to get a break of the dev silence seriously, thanks for acknowledging the problem (please don’t just blame isp… there are far too many people for a common cause at our ends x.x)
Seafarers Rest
Skill lag, movement lag, general lag. It was fine in morning and afternoon but really became ridiculous around 8pm (gmt) (peak time I guess). Has been since the dragon festival patch

holy crap.. they are both incredible :O
So I was wondering about this, I dont know why it wouldn’t but I wanted to see if anyone else had checked.
So, I scraped together the mats for tome of the rubicon today happy Yak. Then I got a tiger charr cover in my blc, happy Yak. HOWEVER in the future I want to infuse that back piece for extra AR. I know that to infuse the backpiece in the mystic forge I need to follow the recipe = [book] + 250 goe + gift of ascension + glob of mist
I worry that if I apply my skin to the backpiece BEFORE I infuse it, that this will change the NAME of the item and therefore mess up any recipes in the MF – basically making it impossible to infuse (and wasting a lot of my gold >.<)
Does anyone know for certain whether or not applying a cosmetic item to a backpiece affects the infusion process?
Ty in advance

Rangers have the toughest time when it comes to “support” which is why pretty much nobody wants us in a high run fractal run :/ I’ve messed around with helping by applying vuln stacks using opening strike…but frankly an axe necro can do it 10 times better >.<
Hopefully Anet will pay attention to this and tweak things
BUT to your build, which I actually like very much mostly for the 15 in BM (QZ on swap and swap every 16 is kinda niice ;D). I have to say, usually 30 in marks is a little too tempting for me with longbow eagle eye and piercing buuuut I appreciate your build looks like it’s focusing on the warhorn MightFurySwiftness shout. I like the idea behind frost trap but I disagree with you on SoN as the elite, just because site the beta weekend spirit nerf (WHYYY ANET WHYYY?! cough sorry…I am calm…) they are instantly targetted by enemy ai and just get vaporised
The reason I am getting so angry is NOT the nerf itself it is the fact Anet didn’t have the decency to call it a nerf. I have never noticed the “animation glitch” this was supposed to fix…I have yet to see a single post where people said “oh actually there was a glitch” (Ive noticed model freezes with sword attack animation before but not shortbow!) If this was an animation fix they would’ve balanced the numbers, reducing the attack time but increasing the damage by the same fraction.
Later developer comments have told us that the real reason was to “stop people spamming 1” – several issues: a) 1 skill is spammed in most professions because of the cool down mechanic b) the REASON people spammed 1 on shortbow is because it wasn’t viable as a damage weapon otherwise, and even as a condition weapon the mediocre poison volley, the frustrating quick shot…I mean the daze and stun was good but really people played SB for the QZ pew pew and bleed stacks. c) Quickening Zephyr is meant to reduce the cast time by half – it CLEARLY does not do this after the 40ms increase. I don’t know if that truly is a glitch, but by the sounds of it it was on purpose as another nerf.
This is about the feeling of being lied to from a development team that I have a great deal of respect for in the way they are generally shining examples of communication. I think people would be able to accept this and move on if a) QZ was fixed with shortbow (is it really the case that Anet wanted SB casting to be always 40ms and cannot be modified by attack speed boosts??) b) if they just had the brass nuts to say “Yes, we admit it, this is a nerf”.
