I would just like to say that it is encouraging to see this thread is getting some good response from the community and Anet staff. Very nice to see.

And here are my 5 wishes.

1. Reset moved back to Friday. The move to Saturday has made playing on a Friday and Saturday completely pointless as the match up is normally over already. Friday reset means everyone logs in early on a Saturday to get the week off to a good start for their server.

2. Stability changed back to the way it was so we don’t all have to Pirate Ship. The fights look and feel awful now… 2 guilds/teams run up to each other full speed and suddenly stop at max range and pew pew for a minute before anything real happens. I want the excitement of diving into a crazy blob with my team and somehow winning, that’s what its all about.

3. Banners and airships and chilling fog all have to go along with how crazy the keep lords scale up. All needs fixed/changed.

4. If we can’t have a true BL rotation between Alpine and Desert then DBLs need a much more direct route from A to B to C. At the moment it is a maze that keep players away from each other and actively prevents encounters with the enemy, who also might have some crazy buff on them like perma stealth.

5. Bring in some form of competition other than the weekly match up. WvW seasons were not perfect but at least they were something different. If not this then something like it with rewards that will actually mean something. At the moment I have nothing at all in game that tells other players that I have spent most of my time in WvW for the last 3 years and that I am part of a guild that does OK at it too. We have no emote like PvP has… No real title that I would bother using, and I do have them all bar 1. Would be nice to get something at 25k player kills then 50k and so on.

None of this should be able to be earned in EotM btw which is a joke.

I agree fully with the absolute fact that banners specifically are forcing players out of WvW and this cannot continue.

As the GM of a guild that has all of the banners and upgrades unlocked, my view is that every banner along with the SMC airships should be removed immediately. Not in a few months time…. Not even in a couple of weeks… Now! They are completely breaking the game mode that I and my team love to play and have done since beta.

Banners were fun for a couple of days until everyone realised just how stupid they are.

If you do nothing and bury your head in the sand with this one Anet, you will lose every single WvW guild very quickly as it is absolutely no fun to fight against 3 banners in any size of fight and I 100% resent that the only way it can be countered is by using these banners ourselves.

This mechanic is almost void of any skill and would be better kept in PvE.

There are many things that have been introduced to WvW recently that need addressing but banners are the number 1 concern for our community at the moment and it simply has to be removed.

Please don’t mess about and tinker for weeks with the damage they do or protection they give. Just get them out all together.

There has never been such a massive misjudgement with adding something into the WvW mechanics as banners have been and I really hope you listen to the WvW community on this point as we are the ones that actually know and care how WvW works on a daily basis.

You guys are all pretty skilled individually, I don’t think anyone will dispute that on here, but, like I say, every time you rage join my party or whisper me after we “Zerg“ you, we don’t play the same game as you.

You are looking to kill 10+ with 5. We are looking to kill 25+ with <= 15. We build for this and the co-ordination involved is substantial. Our driver will call for heals, AoE bombs, all movement and he/she will receive feedback continuously from everyone in the group. Everyone will call early if they are going to go down and a hard res or a stomp will become the main objective until person is back up.

We do have roamers and you know them, but when it comes to our full team you should probably stop trying to pick us off, as it generally doesn’t end well for you.

You will, at every opportunity, try and pick one of our guys off when they are on their own, and this, in turn, makes us want to see you face down in the dirt.

Simple resolution is, Don’t hit us as we don’t even want to fight you anymore because, well, it’s getting boring, and we won’t hit you. Unless our roaming guys are out and then all bets are off.

Pretty sure this will never happen and I fully expect to be flamed for this post, but, I am just so over AD/Bsty/EV/NA thinking they are better than they really are and expecting some kind of respect that they haven’t earned and don’t afford others in return.

If you keep complaining about getting beat when you aren’t ready, or were looking the wrong way or something, perhaps the small scale GvG scene is for you and not the more volatile world of WvW.

Quick rundown of what we had in there… 16 sup ACs, 3 trebs , 2 balis, 1 cata.

If you see VP running yaks to a keep, don’t bother attacking it till we go to bed

We don’t do it often, but when we do..it gets done properly.

What difference does it make anyways. AC’ing a chokepoint is so leet or something? When there’s nothing left to take on a map except the overly fortified keep of a server having everyone sitting on AC’s, I guess we don’t really have a choice. Congrats on holding your keep temporarily at the time?

I guess i just don’t understand the mentality behind making fun of the server that’s beating you handily.
Nobody from SBI has come out and been ignorant, yet there’s been so many people from BP and CD that post trash like you just did. ‘Stormbag Isle’?
Again, it’s just a product of us holding most of your towers and you guys having whatever population left holed up in a keep on superior AC’s guarding a choke point.
If you want to sit in a keep like that and farm a few bags, good on you I guess, your keep will still fall eventually. But don’t blame SBI, it’s a result of the population disparity between the servers. There’s nothing we can do about that. It is what it is.
When BP is playing against NSP and IOJ and the exact same thing is happening, do you think it’s fair when they claim you blob, or only win because of numbers? Borlisbag Pass?
It’s just dumb and it needs to stop.
Try losing this match with some dignity. It’s just as hard to win with dignity and a lot more people should try it. Especially when the outcome is merely the result of population and coverage.

Of course we’re going to fortify our keeps and siege it up at choke points. It’s an obvious counter against an enemy who has a zerg size that vastly outnumbers ours. There’s a very good strategic reason why people don’t want to lose keeps. I’m not going to explain the specifics of why on the forums, but it should be obvious.

Just look at the scoreboards – SBI probably has a zerg at every map, and both CD and BP are forced to defend. SBI’s sheer numbers can rip whatever zerg BP and CD has. It’s not fair. The outcome is population coverage like you said, and you have to give kudos to the two servers that are managing to hold their ground despite all odds.

There will be foulmouths in every server – SBI is just as guilty of trash talking as CD and BP are. Every server is. You cannot say ‘nobody’ from your server is being disrespectable. I agree people need to stop with the name-calling. It doesn’t do the reputation of any server any good.

I can’t speak for BP but I can speak for CD. We do have dignity, thank you very much. One angry post does not sum up the entire attitude of the server. Thank you SBI players who are willing to admit that the pivotal reason they are winning is based vastly on numbers, and not using the match up as an excuse to troll posts and ridicule the smaller server size.

Oh, and fyi, CD is not just hiding scared behind fortified walls in the keep. We’ll rush out and face the zerg if we know it’s not a stupid suicide mission.

…and farming loot? I don’t get very much loot in zerg fights because I’m too busy moving around in a fight. It’s a tiny loot bag and probably holds some junky npc-able stuff. I’m not gonna risk running over to get it. And if I’m firing from an AC, I leave the bags alone until the end, because I’d rather shoot the zerg than stop to pick up loot. Sometimes loot bags run out of timers and will vanish forever.

CD give us a bloody good fight, with even numbers or outnumbered.

VP and WAR spent a lot of time in your BL today. Good brawls over hills.

We have been running around with anywhere from 5-10 people. Sometimes a couple people tag along and join us so it’s hard to say the exact number. Generally less than 15. We have been killing people all week. Maybe you should get out of that blob you hide in/tower you’re camped in and come find us.

Was a great fight. We had Stylii from NoQQ in our TS and one of the guys from vT, can’t remember if it was Clownmagic or Moose or….. All of them are skilled anyway.

These fights are what Guild Wars 2 are all about. 1 guild vs another in open field. The guys you spend your time with, the guys you like and trust, against another guild that is similarly matched to you, spontaneous, bloody exciting, means something.

If you are in a guild or server …. that constantly zergs about.. and you roll over everything…. I pity you, cause you just don’t get it….. 90% of you never will. Perhaps you don’t care and it’s all about the WXP for you, well, you are the dross of the game that needs to get back on the xbox to get those XBL achievements.

Just because there’s more of us angling to fight the 20 wvw’ers from your server logged into your BL, doesn’t mean we’re skill-less… it just means there are more of us. lol. No need to QQ, I mean, FA paired against NSP, what else can you expect? Like I read a few posts up, it sucks, but when someone throws out a callout in map chat, and half of us are farming guards cause there’s nothing else to do, we’re all going to converge. Big and small groups alike. You play WvW for the fights, and when you don’t get any, it blows. PPT doesn’t reflect that.

What are you responding to “callout” for? FA have won the PPT game already. Grow some balls and come out in your guild groups and see how good you really are.

Good fights BP was impressed on the group that fielded today on your BL. My advise to you, not trying to be a kitten, just have a scout or two around the proximity of your group while in WvW, it will help you greatly from getting side swiped and what not.

Also, I can 100% assure you that we never fielded 80 people today in one group. We had approx 45 people active on the teamspeak with an additional 15 militia. WE were big, but never did we go over 60 people. Good fights guys, thanks for the fun.

I understand that BP and NSP are probably incredibly frustrated right now, FA definitely has numbers on you, numbers that are used to weeks of fighting outmanned against T1, so yes, this week is going to suck. However, most of FA has a lot of respect for those of you that are still willing to come out and fight. You’re in the position that we were in for so long, we know it can suck. There’s no need to lash out at someone who is honestly just trying to be friendly and helpful.

If it was supposed to be friendly and helpful, it missed the mark for me by quite some distance.

VP would like to thank IoJ and DB for the fights today. Funniest part for us was when we managed to ninja Bay in IoJ BL while you guys were fighting in inner.. Never thought we would get it.

I feel like everyone needs to understand the way that numbers work. Sure, your guild may only have 20 people, but then pugs and randoms follow you, and quickly your “guild group” becomes 20 + 20 pugs, which makes 40, no matter how unorganized they may be.

Even when we don’t run a tag, Void gathers a tail of people from outside the guild. Yes, we can run 20 or 30 people, but people keep tagging along (not necessarily a bad thing) and then our numbers are quickly 40 or 50. As someone who has seen GLOB around, I have seen you running in smaller groups, probably 25 with pugs, but I’ve also seen you as part of a larger group of 40+. In my mind, running 20 people of a 40 man group makes that you running 40 people. Maybe not everyone is the same, but that’s just how things go. Pugs aren’t ALWAYS worth a lot, but when they know something about what’s going on, they can turn a fight quickly. (Overall, though, GLOB is one of the guilds that we actually look out for on Yaks… otherwise we primarily see blobs)

Also, to whoever’s trying to describe siege creeping and failing: first, you fail so hard. Second, the problem with siege creep from a server that overpowers another is that we quickly lose respect. It is not the use of open-field siege that is the issue, it’s the fact that you choose to slowly move forward and build siege along the way so that there is no time when you are not both outnumbering us and manning siege. I don’t mind open-field siege, mostly, but when you outnumber someone, just push in a wipe them already. I can’t tell you how often my guild could have been wiped if the enemy just rushed inside, but they didn’t, and then we wiped them.

I agree that if you are out there every day and are known for running in a certain way, your guild will pick up people from other guilds who like to do the same and perhaps are not doing anything in WvW at that moment.

Even when we are not running a tag we can go from a 15 man guild team to 20+ very easily. As long as they are running a lvl 80 character, I do not see this as a hindrance at all and we welcome anyone who is running along to join our TS channel.

20+ is a bit different to 40+ though. I would still class our team size as Strike/Havoc. If you are running 40+, regardless if there are only 20 guild members in there, it’s still a zerg. It may be a well organised and skilful zerg, but it is what it is and I can fully understand people becoming a bit weary of the zergs after a while.

kitten yaks doesn’t have any skills groups just massive zerg after zerg. SoCo is the closest thing you guys got and they are not even from your server props to them though. Great fights every time. Hope SoCo can rub off on yaks make them more fun to fight! Ebay, always fun to fight you guys good work! Oh I almost forgot yaks has some decent roamers though and you guys know who you are, thanks for staying out of those mindless zombie zergs!

Wow, first you say that we don’t have any skills we just zerg. But we have good roamers? Do you actually think about what you write before you write it? And I could say the exact same thing about both Ebay and BP, but it’s normal for servers to have a zerg and also have groups that do roaming so I don’t cry about it.

What Elixir says is correct. I am sorry to say, and you might well disagree, but other than SoCo, Bsty/AD and NA, there is nothing much in the way of challenging fights for VP.

Nobody else that we see and say “It’s *********** Stack Stack Stack……” or whatever commands the situation merits. We have had to go up against the zergs this week to get some good fights. Crazy, Mental, never gonna win fights. Except we do win some of them, which makes it all worth while.

We have come across groups of GH that were less than 40 but not very often, good fights.

Void, brilliant movement across the map. Would like to encounter 20 of you to see how it goes but you guys look good.

This is of course, all from my own perspective and when I am online so it is very subjective.

Our guardians, including myself, generally run support builds. These might not be interesting for you to fight in a 1v1 situation. Probably pretty hard to kill.

Lets face it though, when you try to come at us with even numbers, even outnumber us by quit a lot, you rarely come out on top.

What’s the point of having support guardians if your own guildies leave you alone to go off and gank someone? It’s happened a lot that I’v seen where your damage dealers run off to gank someone, end up dying and leaving the support guards to deal with an unfair fight.
The times where I have seen VP stay focused and grouped, yes your skills are pretty good, not many guilds stop to focus res a downed ally which makes it hard for enemies to actually stomp.

Had some awsome fights against a [WAR] Warrior, that guy is a beast and very godlike.

There are a few that meet that description. If a kite was deployed at anytime it was Snacks.

The Norn description was still not entirely decisive, but there’s only one that has the chainsaw greatsword … sounds like you had the misfortune of running into Snàcks

EXTREME misfortune but was a great learning curve for myself and my own warrior, the ascalonian ghost war is also amazing! ^.^

I agree that occasionally our focus isn’t up to our normal standards and this is something we are working on, but sometimes we are just out for a laugh and are not taking things very seriously. I wouldn’t want to run some ultra serious guild that doesn’t have a mess about now and again.

If we have more than 10 people in WvW we tend to start to run our normal way.

Also our guards don’t tend to have any stacks they need to worry about losing so it is best that they be focused and killed if our back line can get away.

Anyway, we have had some fantastic fights against some great guilds from both IoJ and DB.

I wish both IoJ and DB the best of luck for the leagues.

Shout out to the DB and IoJ guys on DB borderland today. VP have been on there most of the day and had some fantastic fights with you guys.
