I would have thought VR and 3D are one in the same. It’s not just about putting glasses on. It’s just about rendering two different image states properly to get the desired effect. which is both required in VR and 3D.

I QQ’d. My next card will probably be an nVidia, but still would be nice for us without currently. So I’ll add my voice here.

I think even a command line option just to force enable stereoscopic 3D. could that be a solution? not sure what that would do tbh.

Anyways. Any solution would be nice for this. Please and Thank You. I’ve been reading that GW2 is pretty awesome in 3D. If I can get it smooth.. I will be golden.

For now I will just ponder other solutions.

lol yeah anything to prevent wearing down my mouse would be nice. As for anyone who has broken their mouse due to well ‘overuse of clicking’.

I’ve brought my mouses back from the dead a few times. I’ve even had to do a repair once within the last 4 months playing gw2.

I concur with most of these suggestions. Was able to get 7 alts done within 3 months pretty easily I might add (though farming SW helps in terms of funding that).

- Personal Story
- Crafting (cooking / jeweller) – obviously I made one of each craft already @ that point
- Doing dailies (even the ones not listed – even after doing completionist – you can see a list of ALL dailies in your Achievments) these give you writs of exp.
- Map completion in all major cities
- Conjure up your own swiftness build and run straight across maps (GW1 running style) running through wp’s, poi’s, get the vista’s etc..
- Run most especially to World Boss WP’s ( use gw2 boss timer ) do all pre-events + boss (easy mode)

You can set notifications on world bosses with some apps so this makes this easy. (you can do bosses about 10 lvls before and you’ll still get a ton of xp)

Oh I’ve seen someone lvl their toon in SW from like lvl 20+ (you’d need a friend for that) They used siege weapons and was able to stand in area in thrasher where poison/pustules don’t overlap I LOL’d when I saw that and commended them. Probably insane xp since you can keep swapping maps.

SW is horrible for t6 unless you buy Stolen Bags of Loot with your Bandit Crests. You’re better off farming Orr otherwise. SW also only seems to give you vicious ‘t6’ items and potent poison sacks or what not. The others will drop in Orr really. I believe that’s why with the new t6 system it coincides with what the mobs drop. However Stolen Bags of Loot will give you every t6 (t5’s and junk too) though.

I don’t know if you may have seen possibly my previous posts. However. I will type it out again.

Beta Portals drop from:
- Mobs
- VW Chest
- Bonus Chests (Chest on the bottom right after completion of successful event)
- Steel Chests (Drop from Champions – some times I’ve seen steel chest drop from random mobs though randomly or maybe I’m crazy)

Anyhow. This is just my suggestions and hopefully it can help you.

Silverwastes Event Mobs (mobs that spawn for defenses or escort) do not drop loot. (although people say they do randomly, personally I think regular mobs just get mixed in since well they all look the same and you can tell which is regular map spawn or event spawn).

That being said. It is fairly inefficient in terms of chances to get it out of SW (although you can just because RN-Jesus may touch you in game).

My suggestions is to go to an active Dry Top map and do those events (Hopefully one with a knowledgeable commander as events are on a timer there). Throw on any spammable AoE weapon with AoE sigil and farm those events like you would farm Orr (DPS/Tag everything – KILL EM ALL).

Why you ask? because Dry Top event mobs ‘DO’ drop loot and if scaled you get A LOT more mobs, and possibly more champion spawns. (steel chests) AS well as a bonus chest from successful completion. So this greatly increases your chances of portal drop IMO. I don’t know if this has anything to do with it either but I’ve noticed it dropping a lot more in the early morning with less global population (but again maybe that’s just coincidence).

Another alternative that someone else suggested is Hylek in SW (in the Far Silverwastes) as the Hylek can respawn via Beetle Event or something.

Anyways.. that’s just my suggestion.. whether you take it into consideration is up to you.

FYI I farmed SW for 2 days straight and got nothing, went to Dry Top and got it within hours. (I found the Skritt Defense Event @ Repair Station to be the best event – a lot of skritt spawn)

yep. Although the alternative solution may be to raise the other 2 armor crafts to match light armor. It’s a matter of perspective really. Again I still don’t find it really that bad.

This was after my weekend binge portal farm :S. Reason I let it stack is because it does take forever to open everything as it is. (took me 4 hours in this case) and a good reason to let these items stack is ‘because’ they stack you can continue to farm without having to reorganize your inventory over and over and when you get to a main city that’s when you do the other half of the game PvI (Player vs. Inventory).

As you can see it’s not hard to accumulate rare bags of loot, successful breach vs unsuccessful breach rare bags do not stack for some reason :S.

Then you get to opening up all the equipment bags and seed pouches which will randomly give you a rare as well. It’s enough to spam click salvage everything as it is, but then boom you hit a rare and notification comes up, you click yes, but then you have to click on the salvage kit again.

It can be tiresome :S
SW is my favourite map, I farm it regardless of the portal event.

farm enough in SW and you’ll learn how to dodge real quick. pretty sure they have hyenas as well. You don’t dodge.. it could be pretty much game over if there are enough mobs around. Husk will root / immobilize you, Leeching Thrasher will put vines under you or Terragriff will charge you (you’re going to get downed in all cases). Hyenas are the least of your worries :S AND the good news is there will be an abundance of these mobs in HoT expansion. :S Even full ascended you can get wrecked by any mob combination (if there are a couple around) if you don’t dodge initial attacks.

This drives me nuts as well….
At least I don’t care about golds, after some farming (especially SW) you may end up with a lot of bags of rare loot. Then it’s a click fest with the pop-up.

Maybe at least something in the options like a checkbox/dropdown in rarity for the notifier? (default set to rare) but you can set it to exotic.. thus salvaging rare will not bring up the pop-up anymore? I think that would please everyone, could even set it to greens as well shrug.

I just started playing again 4 months ago and got my Grand Artisan title a couple weeks ago. I did notice the difference in ‘balance’ but didn’t find it very difficult at all or rather nothing to fuss about.

Currently I have an insane abundance of silks mostly due to farming SW. I also help my friends make their sets. I really don’t find it an issue compared to a lot of other games I’ve played where crafting gear is required.

Since I’ve purchased pretty much everything from the SW bandit crest vendor. I used my extra bandit crests to buy stolen bags of loot (which gives a lot of silk and t6 and other ‘junk’) Still I end up with a lot of moola.

Currently if you notice silk, globs, crystalline dust have dropped fairly dramatically since the beta portal event

I tend to hit escape too many times because something there is graphics lag at HUGGGE events in my case. I end up opening the menu window. :S I too wouldn’t mind having at least the option to key bind a remove target.

yep. Almost confirmed everyone who was in the initial beta stress test I believe got one. It’s not the portal as far as I can tell.

could be wrong though, but I can confirm that people who were in stress test are definitely getting it.

oh on that note as well since everything ascended is account bound… you’re pretty much insta-geared at lvl 80. If you have full ascended sets etc..etc..etc..

any word on “My Greatest Fear”?

“The Cost of Victory” is pretty much the only Achievement I have left in Hero Achievs. Within the 4 months that I’ve been back playing GW2. I’ve mananged to lvl 8 characters and all have completed the main storyline.

I have one mule that I can run though the storyline again which is fine. I can burn through them pretty quick, but I assume “The Cost of Victory” is directly related to “My Greatest Fear” restoration… which I had to look up because it was the only thing missing.

I always thought it was weird doing the storyline 8x and tree lady kept asking me those weird questions about my fear no reason :S

Yep. I work for free all the time and like to help others IRL. I don’t feel as if getting into beta would be work, but I definitely would like to get some insight into the expansion before it is released. From what I heard it is fairly polished already. I definitely wouldn’t consider playing any video game WORK.

Plenty of time to get another portal. I’m pretty sure anyone who REALLY wants a portal WILL get a portal. They’re obviously not going to give them away at a high drop rate. However within the week+ time period you should be able to get another one. As far as I know it drops from bonus chests on the bottom right side, chests from mobs (champs), VW big chest, and flat out drop from mob that goes directly into your inventory.

That being said all you need to do is increase your chances by doing events or killing mobs that drop loot. I found the more efficient way to farm one out was in Dry Top. I spend most of my time in SW and I never got one. Went to Dry Top and boom easy farm.

Reason is this: SW “event mobs” DO NOT drop loot AT ALL. Maybe some of the escort mobs that spawn (but I don’t think even those). Whereas Dry Top event mobs DO drop loot. Both will give that bottom right bonus chest on completion of successful event. That being said find events in Dry Top (active map) equip spammable AoE + AoE sigil on weapon and farm like you’re farming an Orr Temple :P

You’re chances should dramatically increase.

Events like Skritt Defense @ Repair Station are great especially when scaled. (hence it’s good to be in a very active map).

Anyways that’s just a suggestion…
