Hey folks,

We can however officially let you know we are moving the jumping puzzle for EB into it’s own map, as this has been a much requested feature for our beloved siege fairing community.

Apologies for the hicup

So to be clear do you still have to queue to EB, run over to the puzzle then zone in? Or are we able to zone directly into the puzzle without touching EB queues or map? Have a feeling its the former but please consider the latter to truly minimize queues and map congestion!

This has been brought up before many times, but with every patch I hope this will finally get fixed to no avail. Please fix the bugged Trading Post font when using a small interface option. It doesn’t matter the resolution and any other options in graphics won’t fix it. Attachment shows font.

This has been bugged/broke for too long now….

Shame almost every major town is so dead...

I think the only thing that will get more traffic to other towns are the addition of Mini-Games, a full Portal Hub (no one likes load screens) and possibly the addition of a multiple city chat option. But don’t any of that happening for years unfortunately. Even with those options LA is still kind of central for the most part and cuts down on WP costs over time.

we ever getting different tourny types back?

Of course that metric is skewed. Basically that survey ask if people enjoy the 1 round tournament or the broken 3 round tournament they had without any fixes being put in.

If they fix drop queues, rewards and get the player-base back for queue times in 3 rounders a lot of people that chose their appreciation for the 1 round (myself included) over the 3 round would still enjoy to see a healthy 3 round in the future. It was a broken system in both modes but one was less time wasted with better rewards. No point in not wanting more features for pvp and to just dismiss an entire mode because it was broken at one time.

tldr: Bring it back only when they fix the underlying problems it had when introduced.

In the same situation here as well, wish I would of caught the free transfers like many did to get their achieve. Kicking myself now because that boat has sailed.

I’m actually alright with WvW being in the completion but only if they start rotating the colors. For most tiers its the same 3 servers battling it out for months now without any rank change. If your in 2nd or third place you’re more than likely not going to see some points. Devs have stated they might rotate the colors but not for map completion reasons (boggles me that they don’t care about the issue)

I just grinded a few levels in FotM. The last one I did was a Level 10 while being at a personal level of 9 so that I could get to 10. We did the Jade Maw and I received a chest at the end. I know that I did not qualify for the tier2 loot, but my question is if I do another level 10 today before reset will I receive a chest at the end with level 10 appropriate loot (ie: chance at ascended ring) or do I have to wait until after reset to do the daily 10.

This woudl be good to know fo hte other tiers as well, Ex: If i’m level 19 and do a 20 then do it again when my personal level is 20. Any help is appreciated.

8-Team Tournaments Disabled

Sojo.1405

If you could have fixed the queues earlier and added a few features to PvP then this wouldn’t have happened. 8-team is fun for some, but the time commitment to 3 matches plus the hour long queue with the chance to be kicked if the team leader (even in solo-queue) leaves is a mode breaker.

It’s time to focus on PvP ANet or you midaswell start deleting more options….

Small Group Changes for WvW?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Sojo.1405

Sojo.1405

I know the patch is a couple days out and we haven’t seen any real details to what will be coming on Tuesday. But I remember the devs stating that they were going to implement a way for small groups to be more beneficial for WvW and there would be alternative reasons for people to get out of the current zerg strategies if they so choose to.

My question is doesn’t these rank changes being introduced this patch kind of go against that? More kills = more WXP and moving with the zerg you usually see more events being done than with a skirmish group; again more WXP. Has anyone seen or heard any more information about any changes that might come in this “WvW” patch for the small skirmish groups? Or are things staying pretty much the same for the most part (aside from losing a bit of WXP comparatively for staying out of the zerg)

Tournament rank requirement

Sojo.1405

THIS. Please put some rank requirement up, sick and tired of losing because I got 2 rabbits in my team…

Agreed. Rank 10+ for tournaments imo.

They do it in pve. You cant go to play fractals if ur not rank 80

Hate to point this out but any level can go into a fractal, ran one with a level 7 the other day

But on topic, if they do make this change (which makes sense) then they need to change the monthly PvP tournament win achieve. It’s why most jump in, to get their 3 wins.

The real problem is the MMR system in place, it’s horrid and I truely believe it can’t be working as intended. Fix solo queue and MMR and this wont be an issue.

And that entirely makes sense, thought I was going mad lol. Man they could fix that pretty easy, not sure why they allow 1 person the ability to screw over 4 other people waiting around for hours to no avail. Oh well, maybe it’s on their radar for the March patch.

Thanks for the info, I guess I have extremely bad luck so it’s time to find 4 other in map chat before I queue I suppose.

Not sure if i should put this in bugs or in the PvP topics but I have tried to solo queue an 8-Team Tournament about 7 times in the past few days. Every single time I wait in queue for about 30-45 minutes then the queue just drops without any notification. It has a full party setup and ready to go the whole time in queue but before it pops I get dropped every single time. I then have to requeue and wait in queue again to no avail. Am I doing something wrong here? Before the patch I could just form a “solo” roster and queue fine.

I do leave the Mist and do some PvE dailies or whatnot solo (because sitting in the mists is a bit boring while waiting) ankittenesting right now if it happens back to back while just siting in the mists.

Any suggestions or ideas on what could be going on? This is extremely frustrating and would like to PvP but the tournaments seem to be bugged for me.

-Boss- is a small Fort Aspenwood guild comprised of about 10 active members that are interested in all aspects of the game (PvX). Ages range from 25-36 and are looking for like-minding, laid back individuals that just want to enjoy all that GW2 has to offer. We also have a working Ventrilo available. This guild is very casual in time playing the game and we have lost alot due to people jumping back to other games so looking for those that log in at least a few times a week.

We are opening our doors to another 15 or so players in that we can round out having enough people online to do Explorable Dungeons and form PvE groups together regularly. With the addition of the guild update patch we are definitely going to work towards unlocking and grouping for all aspects of guild activities 4 A. A couple of us are really interested in tPvP and would like to get a couple solid groups in the guild going.

Currently Politics 2 ; Art of War 3 (training today) ; Economy 4 ; Politics 2

Most of us have Jobs, Family and/or College commitments and just won’t have time to play constantly. That’s not to say we don’t game alot or well (have top 500 raiders, SC2 diamonds, an old FPS semi-pro gamer and Moba tournament junkies), we just don’t have a time requirement and understand things come up, sometimes days or weeks at a time.

If any groups of friends or multi-guild persons want to come along there is no represent requirements at all, feel free to switch around. The only requirements are that you be at least 21 years old and respect each other. Please contact in tell or mail: Sojo DeJourn, Connall Faoite or PM me here.

Wouldn't a taunt mechanic be useful?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Sojo.1405

Sojo.1405

I’ve made posts about this on different forums and was going to open a discussion up here a well until I saw this

This and zerg rushing were the primary reasons I took some time off the game. I am 100% for a long cooldown, short duration taunt if specc’d for it (say toughness/vitality lines). How do they expect us to control (as far as aggro) a mob without something like this implemented. I mean one of the trinity branches here are called controller without any proper form of controlling aggro to be seen in the game. Just ruins pve somewhat for me and leads to less strategic gameplay and more chaotic encounters. And think about the interesting node defense a reverse fear in PvP for bunkers would create, but could be issues there who knows.

I really think a small implementation of long cd/short dur taunt into a spec’d “bunker” build would go miles in fixing the dungeons in this game.

This this this. It’s one of the biggest reasons I left. Any game that has laoding screens back to back and 25 seconds long each time just kills immersion for me. Drove me so crazy I upgraded my comp, threw in an 6gb/s SSD with top of the line pretty much everything, cept stayed i5 instead of i7 and it’s still remarkably slow and constantly happening . I just came back after a couple months break and this is the first thing that stood out. Seems a petty thing but after a few back to back loads immediately after coming back I’m ready to hang it up again…

Yeha it just seems to not work 100% of the time. Tested it for a long while in the Mist but it never once proc’d any toolbelt skills. I could of swore though a time or 2 my elixir R reset in a dungeon.

I am running a 30/5/0/20/15 build so the 25% landmines are in the mix as well. But when I was testing it I tried with just the 15 in tools to confirm with no procs. Thanks for the input

Edit: Was testing this on the Fire-pit but then just tested against the NPC’s (Ele/Guardian/Etc.) in the Mist training ground and the toolbelt skills reset. Maybe it has something to do with being flagged in combat or having an enemy targeted.

Sorry my work blocks this site so couldn’t respond. But as far as the questions…
I have a 25MBPS pipe with 256 up and a ping of around 73 going to texas servers.
My SSD is under 50%
My firmware is 1.5, updated it even after it came with 1.5
I understand the CPU is my bottleneck, but I can get a 30 ° OC @ 3.1. Yes its not running on 4 cores but to see no difference in load times with my rig, well it just doesn’t make sense to me.

Prophet, great post let me run through this…
Had Hibernation, Disk Defrag, Hi Performance and sleep mode off from the get go
Yeah meant to turn the page file off, doing it as I type this.
Indexing is Off, thx
Never heard of Superfetch, its disabled now
Going to look up the cache file edit: ok registry is updated

And I ran Experience before with a 6.9. will do again and post results after (but its a CPU 6.9 so not going to change prob

Going to also do a crystal speed test. Will post results. But also just like i said above. Everything is loading crazy fast (steam games and windows) it just seems GW2 isnt taking advantage of my SSD…

New SSD - Same Load Times?!

Sojo.1405

So I just upgraded my computer from a 7200 HDD to an OCZ Vertex4 SSD. I can’t stand load screens and this was my biggest upgrade for reducing them. On my 7200HD I would get loadtimes between 20-30 seconds normally. And now with the SSD I’m getting loadtimes of, wait for it….20-30 seconds. I have tried multiple areas and back to back jumps.
Steps I did when installing…
Remove old HD
Make sure BIOS was setup for AHCI before installing windows. Made sure hibernate was off
Once windows was installed I pluggedd my old HD in.
Copied GW2 to the new drive as well as updated all motherboard, drivers, windows components (service pack 1, Rapid storage tech, video drivers, etc.)
Setup power settings, preferences, etc.
Updated Vertex to 1.5 Build (was already 1.5 but did a check just in case)

Think everything was done properly and windows is booting up crazy fast compared to the HD. But it just seems GW2 loading times were unaffected. Shoudn’t I see a performance increase? Is GW2 just not optimized for SSD’s yet?

Any help is appreciated.

Specs:
Windows7 Pro 64
P55LE EVGA Motherboard (SATA 3gb I know
i3 2.93 Intel 530
EVGA 560 1.5g
12GB Ram
128 OCZ Vertex4
Seagate 7200 1TB
650 Corsair Performance Power Supply
Running alot of cooling as well. Can show benches if needed, but guarantee I’m in the low range on both GPU/CPU.

Any help is very much appreciated, would really like to get these loading screens down to acceptable levels. If not I need to send this drive back I guess.

Explorable Tokens Need a Rework [FIX]

in Fractals, Dungeons & Raids

Posted by: Sojo.1405

Sojo.1405

I posted this on the reddit forums with a great response. Was asked to post here as well.

Currently we have a system that is not favorable for the majority of guilds and friends who enjoy content together when talking about explorable dungeon runs. The heart of the problem is that there is a limited number of stat setup choices for gear and each dungeon offers only a particular stat combo.

Say for instance we have a guild of friends that all have thier eye on a different stat combo. We have a couple choices when pursuing that combo and only 1 path leads to that group of friends playing together: The Orr DE karma grind for deity specific armor (and most of these are 4 stat combos as opposed to the other options). The other 2 options are crafting or explorable dungeons.

Crafting is fine, it gives solo players an opportunity to get BiS and combine them with the look they want. But Explorable Dungeon tokens actually forces groups to split up and PUG content. There should be a way to gain the tokens you want while still keeping the dungeon specific token in-game for those that think that certain tokens should be used for specific dungeon sets.

A good middle ground IMO would be to leave the BONUS first clear path run tokens as they are (specific to the dungeon). But change the chest/boss tokens to a generic token that can be used for all vendors or “converted” for a percent loss exchange. That way specific tokens mean something and you actually do have to run more of that dungeon to gain the actual dungeon set. This works for longer time invested but less of a grind feel, while being able to play all dungeons and paths with friends.

Example: You complete CoF. By doing so you would get 10 bonus CoF tokens like you do currently for each path. But the 20 tokens you get from the Bosses you could exchange at a lower rate. Such as 2:3 conversion for all tokens, so 20 tokens as opposed to 30 overall, or 2:1 on just the boss tokens with bonus staying the same. This keeps the rate of gaining sets close to the same, the idea of having to run the dungeons that correlate to the set you want and giving the opportunity for friends and guildies to run together while everyone getting a rewards they are seeking.

I just can’t think of a better way to get people to try to run multiple dungeons with the current rewards for the masses not being worth it. It encourages running multiple paths and the only thing that would need adjusted is dungeon difficulty which ANET has shown they can do very quickly. No reason not to have something like this; unless playing with friends and multiple gear grinds are what is favored.

Dungeon Updates

Posted by: Sojo.1405

In order to get people to try different chains you need to have a MORE universal token system with payoffs being equal for time spent in the balancing of the dungeon paths.

There fixed.
