Ravenswood Branch, unless they changed it very recently, does NOT require 500 artificer to make, just 400 or 450 not sure. Wait till Nevermore II to go for grandmaster. You have to make 250 basic elder wood staves and since they count as exotic they can shoot a character from 400 to 500 very very easily.
I was in the exact same situation as you and had to buy the recipes from the npc at LA for my Artificer. Then because I’m sadistic I decided I wanted my norn to be the one to make Nevermore and the other precursors and got them both to 500 easy with the elder wood staves (1-400 was expensive though).
Actually it does acknowledge if you’re a Norn character with the “lost an heirloom” story. You can talk to him about it. He’ll acknowledge you as a descendant and also talk to you about the Horn. I loved that touch when I played through it on my character! Maybe you missed it or there was a glitch or something?
Yes, I’ve noticed the same thing. It’s become the new “kill stealing” for GW2. This game was built with the idea that you can’t possibly hurt anyone by going out of your way to help them kill a mob. Likewise you’re free to mine that node, do objectives for your quest, resurrect those npcs, etc; you won’t get in anyone’s way. This is absolutely one of the best things about GW2, but unfortunately the nature of how people will try to get their dailies has tainted it.
I’m hesitant to pitch in an help with a fight in case they were trying to get their dodges in. I hesitate to kill monsters in an area where they are killing the npcs even if it’s for a heart I need if I see people trying to resurrect npcs. Underwater kills even, I try to find a large patch of water to get that part done and I notice dozens of other people have beaten me to it. Do I try and get my kills in and make it harder for them (a dozen people can’t shoot at the same mob and expect everyone to get credit) or go somewhere else? One day I went to several such spots in a row to find them filled up.
I don’t mind if other people accidentally make it harder for me to do my daily, but it’s brought out the worst in others. I’ve heard a friend of mine completely lose it on people over voice chat because of imagined “dodge-steals”. Likewise just like a previous poster, the area above Nebo Terrace became “res territory” and people were complaining on map chat about all the “trolls” that were killings skelks in that area. I’m pretty sure they were part of the renown heart.
I hope Anet can find some way to resolve this problem.
All Guardian players know of the useful skill that allows them to grant swiftness and aegis to themselves and nearby players. It’s used most often to charge into battle with friends and protect them from harm.
Thanks to Logan Thackeray the skill is called “Retreat”.
“and worst of all… We will not be able to stop Logan Thackeray from running away”
I nearly died reading this. XD
You’re making the assumption that 1. No one is interested in the items that are on sale (personally, very interested in the fine transmutation stones). 2. That you aren’t going to be interested in the items that go on sale in the next two days. and 3. That a black friday sale has to conform to your expectations for some reason.
On BF, stores aren’t obligated to make everything on sale. Some raise the prices while still making it look like a good deal (a 50% entire store sale that ends up raising the price of all the 60% and 70% off items from the week before, for example). The impression I get is that you wanted a certain item and it hasn’t gone on sale yet. Give it time. It just might. If not, Wintersday is just around the corner.
If only there was some way to magically manipulate the elements of water and earth in order to help these poor creatures! I’ve asked all the warriors, guardians, thieves, necromancers, rangers, mesmers, and engineers I know if they’ve heard of anything like that, but I suppose it’s just crazy talk.
I agree! Tassi’s my idol after this. I love how she so casually banished him back when he first bust out. “Oh he’s real. Okay back you go. yawn” Her repeat performances were just as amusing. I’d love Tassi to return for more holiday goodness!
I love that statue. Personally I hope we have a hand in fixing it. Like a large world event to collect “donations” or the necessary materials needed to fix the statue.
I ended up loving the communal aspect of it. We were all in this together, encouraging each other, cheering when one of us made it, shouting random memes, singing songs, and joining in misery together. I wish it were easier for those who needed to see their character and the platforms better, but running the puzzle with other people was half the fun for me!
I just got the Mad Moon shield from it…..and without thinking I equipped it. sobs I like the look of the Durmand Priory shield so much better and could have gotten 11+ gold from Mad Moon! Why!?
Assuming they’re not just using swiftness (nevermind, you mentioned that), there are traits/skills/weapons that can change how fast someone runs. Some traits or skills give a passive speed bonus. Also, if you’re wielding a greatsword or hammer I believe you run slightly slower than with other weapons.
There are also mobility skills that teleport or allow a player to leap forward.
Go into Divinity’s Reach, just behind where you first started. Make your way to the very center of the map. Divinity’s Reach is a big giant circle, so it should be pretty easy to find, but I think you can ask for directions from the guy near the entrance if needed. Just go up the giant ramp you see though and find the asura gate there in this big indoor garden area (you’ll see a purple swirl icon on the map), make sure to get the waypoint while you’re at it.
The Asura gate will take you to Lion’s Arch. You’ll see four other Asura gates in a circle around you. Notice how the gate you came out of had two human guards? The gate that’s guarded by two Norn Wolfborn goes to the Norn’s home city. The gate guarded by two Sylvari go to the Sylvari home city etc. Just find the way out from there (a difficult task sometimes, but it’s USUALLY not too far from the gate, and it’ll have a path branching out). Ask in map chat if you need help finding the way.
