Turning SPI off under the Firewall of my D-Link DIR 601 router completely resolved the black screen issue for me. It also solved my disconnects with error 21/41. This is very strange behavior. But I can play at full settings with the 306.2 drivers, and I have a lot of thanks for the people who discovered this fix!

SPI is Stateful Packet Inspection, a necessary firewall function. Disabling SPI may have fixed your GW issue, but you have now seriously compromised the security of you computer.

The patches may be an issue / significant amount of data, but I would expect that normal play would have very low data usage; far less than video streaming.

Quit Gw2 because of crashes. Have you quit?

Cannot really blame you. There are far too many good games out there to waste your time being a test subject. GW2 has done a great job of eliminating many of the things that frustrate me about MMOs, but with MOP nearing release and SWTOR going F2P I think I am going to put GW2 on the shelf and maybe think about it again in 6 months. Maybe they will get the bugs fixed by then or maybe I just won’t care about GW by then.

Black screen issue

One on my computers is experiencing the same thing and I have not been able to determine the cause. I was hoping that someone from support could figure it out since I have the unique situation of having two computers with identical hardware – one with the black screen issue and the other without.

I am also having black screens and crashing to the point that the game is not playable.

I have two computers with identical hardware, one exception is a Logitech gaming headset on the working computer, and I believe identical drivers. One computer works with zero problems and the other experiences black screens and crashes.

I have attached copies of the 64 and 32-bit DxDiag from both computers. I have run a compare on the files and they are close but not identical. Unfortunately, I cannot determine if any of the differences are significant.

Please help.
