Well done, sir : D
I stand corrected, I ‘overbuffed’ you thieves by accident.
Anyway, point two of my previous reply is perfectly true. Confirmed by Jon Peters here:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/pvp/pvp/Chilled-and-initiative/page/3
As a thief main, it also decreases our initiative gain from 1/s down to 0.3/s, meaning that if you happen to chill a thief, you’ve got a good chance of winning the match. A lot of thieves have condition clear in stealth though, and the ones that don’t have multiple utilities which clear chilled, crippled, and immobilized. So while chilled can really mess a thief up, we’ve got plenty of ways to counter being chilled.
Erm… first off, initiave regen was buffed to 1 tick every 0,75 secs, and second, chill has no effect on this specific mechanic at all.
Well, it’s me again : D Now that I see things clearly, I have an even more amazing question:
What’s the point of this change, seriously? To encourage people to use the dodge button more responsibly? They already did this with the vigour nerf.
No, yes.
Neither of those two interactions involve deceptive evasion, why would they change?
I feel so embarrassed. Completely forgot that the change only applies to clones summoned by the trait. Thank you for the quick answer.
As a sidenote, you know how well the devs do their work, do not feel surprised if they also forget that this change should be DE-only ; )
Edit: There are gonna be several days of mesmer pain before the hotfix
Will you be able to go Scepter/Pistol pve and autoattack without overwriting your three iDuelists? Also, If you summon a phantasm while having three clones, will it spawn ?
Believe it or not, I pretty much stopped playing mesmer because of this (and the lack of any viable non-focus pve build). Then I discovered that other professions are similarly not too diverse pve-wise. Since I do not care about pvp, I might just quit after only three months of playing time.
Ofcourse it’s PvE only : ) It says so in the title, and to avoid confusion, it repeats it in the conclusion. I hope they give it a thought
There has been a lot of talk lately about the state of dungeons rewarding skilled players with Berserker gear. This is perfectly fine as skilled players should be rewarded, however, sooner or later they get extremely bored. Combine this with a bunch of non-skilled players who are already seriously frustrated and you know that a lot of forum whining is about to kick in.
So, first of all, we all know that this game has thrown away the trinity concept. This means that all ideas about more tanky or more healy geared characters are pure fiction. What is not a fiction is introducing some diversity in the way damage is dealt. Currently, the meta is melee zerk, while condition and ranged specs are scowled at. I suggest that we think of some changes that will bring the two specs on par with melee zerk.
My ideas would be:
- remove the bleed cap
- make burning and poison stack in intensity for the number of players applying them
- buff torment so it does double damage regardless of whether the target is moving
- increase the range of might and fury applications so ranged classes are not left boonless.
- last and most important – remove multiplicative scaling of % damage bonuses and make it linear. As a wild guess I would say that right now 1 point of Power is worth 15+ points of condition damage.
All of these changes must never happen in WvW and PvP, obviously.
I think the underlying issue is the removal of the “trinity”. There is no point to have five damage-dealers where two of them are geared for toughness and another one for healing power. All of them will go zerk as this makes them effective in their role.
Actually, by removing the “trinity” you only got rid of tanks and healers. DPS were left untouched. I realise this idea is a bit hard to grasp but it is nevertheless perfectly true.
There’s a slight difference between a Healing Skill and A Skill That Heals When Traited : )
Otherwise Restorative Illusions + Mender’s Purity would be a little too powerful. And make the other GM trait useless.
It’s actually Cheetah xD
Or to be as accurate as possible, it’s just a kitten thingie
I’d like to see an epic Phantasm. Necros have epic minion, rangers have epic spirit ..
Something with a bit higher health, 60 sec CD, and single target dps similar to that of iSwordsman. Nothing fancy so far, however, I’ll want this phantasm to be immune to AOE dmg : D
Basically a spell that can compete with TW for boss fights.
P.S. As you mentioned in an earlier post, I want my “bunnies” immortal.
I am glad I could help : )
Maybe not the answer you are looking for, but you know that the clone on dodge will target the nearest enemy, don’t you ?
If you don’t have that trait I have no idea what the reason is.
Looks frightful. In a fantastic kind of way. Not something I would like to encounter in a dark alley.
Btw, I couldn’t help noticing your sick keybinding. What do you use the buttons 2,3,4,5 for ?
(edited by Soulseek.2867)
Oh, it is multiplicative ?! o.0
PS: Dame warriors OP !
10/20/0/25/15; sword/sword + sword/focus; +30% Phantasm damage, +Phantasm Fury, traited focus and sword, as well as traited glamours. I also use the new signet because of the 20% clone cd reduction.
Yeah, if you use no MH in your second set it will only change skills 4 and 5 when you swap. Also, don’t forget to substitute the 10% movement speed per clone with 20% glamour CD recharge.
In all fairness, the 10/30/0/30/0 is a very flexible build. You can experiment with sword/focus sword/sword and Empowering Mantras instead of Duelist Discipline
@Qaelyn.7612
I use that build for PvE. I have only two months of experience and I feel that a phantasm build is more forgiving for new players. Basically, if you find yourself in a dungeon remove the scepter and change the OH sword with a focus. Also trait your focus with Inspiration VIII. In a large open world boss encounter it doesn’t really matter what you do since there is a zerg to complete the event for you. Anyway, this build plays very well versus champions, just familiarize yourself with their attacks and you will be able to block/evade anything. In other words, it’s a great solo build. You can also solo Caudecus story mode.
When you type feedback.com instead of facebook. Yeah, that has happened at least twice. And since this is my first post ever, hello folks : )
