Doesn’t seem too beneficial for the staff tempest indeed, although it sounded nice in theory. Oh well back to my bolt to the heart.
I’m more of a pve person but that’s good to know too xD
With today’s changes the trait Fresh Air got slightly buffed so my question is: Is it worth, in terms of dps/survivability, as a staff user to go for the Fresh Air trait to constantly overload air while adding a lava font between swaps ?
What I don’t like……RAIDS. What I liked about this game is how you didn’t depend so much on parties to kill bosses, instead you could work together with a large part of the players on the server and complete it. Now with the addition of raids people are excluded as much as possible from parties. Oh and just finding or creating a party for one is a pain. You cannot even use the LFG tool to find a raid party because LFG searches for parties and not squads like you need for raids. Lets not mention just being accepted in the squad at all because the requirements for joining are exaggerated. I didn’t want raids to be anything like WoW where you need specific roles for everything and to be skilled. Anet constantly bragged about how each character can be played however you wanted, how you can look after your own character and not require a healer when doing group content. Where is that now? All of a sudden people are obliged to change their builds, gear and play style just to be accepted on a raid. At least in WoW you could find a raid a lot easier. I have no raid experience to be honest, I’ve only attempted to kill the Vale Guardian 6 times in the first day of release, later on most people lost interest in the raids and the ones still interested in doing them are the try hards that want you to be skilled and play a specific role. How can I learn how to do those raids if I’m excluded from the start? Is this the direction the game is going towards?
How is COF good one getting experience though?
So far my best of luck was in Silverwastes when it comes to doing events and getting experience. What do you guys think?Which do you consider as the best maps on Central Tyria to get mastery experience on?
Great job Arenanet with the expansion so far, nevertheless here are my thoughts on the expansion:
The good:
-The map is gigantic and there’s something to do everywhere
-The mastery system feels really rewarding
-My character talks!I feel more involved in the story now.Less story windows and more voice acting is always welcomed.
-Good variation for day/night cycle events
-There weren’t many story sequences to be played in the beta, but the few i got to play have been really exciting so far
-Gliding is definitely hands down the best thing for me.Hope we can do that in the other regions of Tyria too.
-Great environmental design of the jungle
-The mobs add new mechanics
-Soundtrack is amazing
-Tempest skills have nice animations
-Those sniping events are quite fun.Supporting allies from a large distance is a nice change of pace.I hope we get to use them in other events too.
-Jumping on mushrooms is cool.
The bad:
-FPS issues in certain areas.I do have great specs too so I hope areas like Itzel village will be better optimized
-Lack of info about when and where some events take place unless we’re being told by other players on map chat. The map itself should provide more info on events.
-Some events were bugged which made progression on the mastery system slower. Also lack of info related to game mechanics sometimes (example:defending Laranthir while he places explosives on the wall by killing Mordrem with a red shield on.We had to figure out that we needed to CC the husks to take down red shield because the buff description of the shield was bugged, random numbers instead of a description)
-As I love gliding, I wished I knew the status of the recharge bar on the glider when I’m deactivating it for a short while.I may just end up falling hard due to it being close to exhaustion without me knowing
-There should be more alternative routes for people that haven’t mastered the glider or mushroom yet.I had to walk in such big circles to get where I needed to go sometimes.
-I fail to see how tempest can be useful for a staff user.Reason why I picked staff is to keep my distance from my targets and aoe like crazy.Overloading my attunements is fun but it involves getting myself closer to the action and with my assassin build, I’m punished often for the low defense I have.
-Warhorn is interesting but it still won’t convince me to change to a scepter/dagger on the main hand.
-What’s with the scaling on the events? It’s taking longer than usual to finish some events when there are too many people doing them (ex:placing the wyvern eggs in the village)
Mastery progression feels way too grindy

I do feel that it takes longer than usual to level up.I think the experience rates are the same but there are less events to be done. Many of them bugged (in many cases with that weird 5 number bug ) and more experience should be rewarded for longer events.Probably the most important issue is that with such a big map, we don’t even know when certain events start unless we’re being told on map chat.
My bigger question is did they nerf meteor shower on the staff ?It says number of targets: 3.Did it always hit just 3 targets or is it a nerf with this patch?
I used to think 900g for it was much but as time passed it got to 1250g?Why is it so expensive compared to the other precursors? At this rate my legendary will be a Santa Claus gift, even he wouldn’t offer that.Did anyone actually manage to craft the legend randomly in the mystic forge? If so how many tries did it take and gold?
Been trying to do the event constantly on the Ruins of Surmia server but the escort event never starts. There is an explorer at Gavbeorn’s Landing telling us she needs our help but we can’t communicate with her.According to the timer on this website it hadn’t started for a very long time and I need it to deactivate the statues to get a skill challenge.

Nevermind I found the name of the song from another thread.
I’ve heard that song before when fighting the blood prince for the first time,I just can’t find it anywhere. It’s this song from the following youtube video:

Anyone know the name of it?
After they redesigned most of the traits I would need to focus less on arcana and I can pu t more points into air but I’m curious if it’s worth it just for the weak spot trait. It would cause vulnerability on critical hits and I already have a huge critical rate.Is it worth giving up on renewing stamina from arcana for it?
That yellowish message window where it would tell us the living world events currently ongoing such as:Tequatl rising and Scarlet minions attacking a certain zone.It used to be right under the daily window.Does anyone else have that window missing too?
