The even better news is, now that the bug’s been fixed, subsequent birthdays shouldn’t have the same problems. So double hurrah!

Also I’m waiting for my gift. I bought the game the first few days of May of 2012 and have participated in all the beta. My question is: the gift is for the birthday of GW2 will have it all and then I just have to wait? Is the birthday of my account so I just have to wait? The gift is linked to the creation of my first character, which now no longer exists’, so I will receive the gift the day I created my second character?

Each character you create has a birthday — the day you create them. If you delete that character, then that character no longer has a birthday.

I’ve also not gotten my gift yet, despite my /age being 12mo, but I think they’re just a bit slow going out. Someone asked the GW2 Twitter about it this morning, and the response was to “give it some time.”
