I can understand your problem Stareyes. Having a newly created guild and recruiting new members is one serious tough slug. You have to work thrice as hard to get new members. But if you keep at it, and keep banging at doors. Then eventually people will start to take notice and give your guild a shot.
I’m not really sure if you are trying to recruit people from LoL on to this game. If you are, then chances are they won’t come on. But if you solely focus on GW2. Then players will more than likely join your guild (make sure they fit in to your guild). The guild I’m with only started out with 3 (the two guild leaders, i was the first public member). But with hard work and some convincing, it has grown, since it first started out way back in January.
Running a guild was never going to be straightforward. If you decide that your guild Phoenix flare gaming won’t work out as you hoped it would, then best of luck in finding a new guild : ).
I’ve been mostly trying to recruit people soley for Guild Wars, but my main problem is that I get either inactive members from the game itself, or they log onto our website and say ‘ooh, you guys play League of Legends!’ and I basically lose them to the League section of our community…I’m still gunning for more members, I haven’t given up yet, but being the only person on really gets old after a while heh. To make things worse, I’m the only dungeon-ready player, too, so I can’t really recruit PUGs that way.
So, to put everything bluntly here, I’m a veteran player of Guild Wars 2, and know quite a lot about the PvE in particular, and I’m currently looking for a friendly, casual guild focused primarily on Blackgate, if anything just for some people to play and generally do things with. I have 6 total characters that I play on, one 80 (and one 71 Necro as well), and tend to just hop around my various toons, depending on what I’m feeling like doing. My issue lately has been playing alone…like, 24/7. The community I’m a part of now, Phoenix Flare Gaming, is primarily focused on League of Legends, but also has a Guild Wars 2 page and guild, headed by me. Only issue is…I’m literally the only one who ever tries to play and promote the game. So, since I’m tired of being alone, I’m looking for a new guild to join for Guild Wars, one that’s preferably friendly and more casual, focused on just having fun rather than being all elitist and efficient, just to do whatever with. I’m simply tired of playing alone, as I’ve said, and I love this game too much to just stop playing due to boredom.
Just go ahead and give me a whisper/mail in game if you think you can help me with my problem, or reply here

What time zone are you guys in/basing your schedule off of? Sounds fun
How many active members do you currently have?
Just giving this a little bump, also adding a small explanation of how we handle ranks, as I realized that I forgot such a vital way of how we work:
We have five total ranks in the guild that we’ve established:
Phoenix King and Queen (the leaders, Eniette and I)
Desk Phoenix (Admin/mod)
Full Phoenix (Veteran member with minor admin powers such as inviting, etc and full bank access)
Talon (Regular member)
Feather (for brand new members, as soon as you’re registered on the website we’ll be sure to bump you up to Talon ^^)
As I mentioned above, feel free to comment here, or PM me in game if you have any questions/concerns

Made a brand new post, closing this one.
Welcome!
Hello all, my name is MidnightLeaf, and I’m one of the Council Members in Phoenix Flare Gaming, a mostly League of Legends centered gaming community looking for new members to fill its brand new Guild Wars 2 branch, centered on the NA server Blackgate, and primarily focused upon PvE at the moment. As we are a new guild in the land of Tyria, we don’t have very many members as of yet, but hey, that’s why we’re here!
What is Phoenix Flare exactly?
Phoenix Flare Gaming (or PFG for short) is a gaming community that started in League of Legends, focused around the ideas of non-toxicity and just having fun in the games that we play. We’re a very casual guild because of this, and frankly the only things that we really are strict about is being a toxic player within game – we have Toxic Tabs that everyone keeps tabs on.
What do you offer?
At the moment within GW2, we don’t really offer much in the ways of…well, anything, sadly. As we are brand new, we don’t have the influence to purchase any upgrades or anything of the sort. Outside of the game, however, we do have a private Teamspeak server and a dedicated website, hosted on Shivtr. The information can be found below:
Teamspeak IP: 76.74.238.52:10047
Website Address: http://phoenixflarehq.shivtr.com/
Who do you accept?
Anyone is welcome in Phoenix Flare, save for anybody toxic of course. From newbies to the most pro of players, if you want a community to play with, who doesn’t really care about what you do in game, you are welcome in Phoenix Flare.
Our System
We have a simple hierarchy system in place for our leadership in PFG, controlled by the Council Members, Councilors, and Moderators. You will start in the Guild as a mere Feather, and over time will earn your place as a fully fledged Phoenix, with full access to the guild’s storage (both withdrawing and depositing).
So, if you’re interested in joining our humble existence and helping us rise from the ashes, we would be more than happy to have you! Just visit our website and apply, or contact me in game @StarEyes.8712 via Private Messaging, and we can just go on from there! If you have any questions, be sure to leave them below as well ^^.
Thanks for your time,
MidnightLeaf
Guild Wars leader of PFG
Made sure to add the server, thanks for the help ^^
This guild is my very first, and to put it bluntly, having a guild filled with this many helpful, friendly people by far makes this game 100 times more fun. When I need help with a really tough fight, or want to know something about the game that I’m not sure about, all I have to do is ask, and I get help! Everything about this guild makes the game more fun. Nothing takes away from the experience in the slightest.
First, make sure GW2 is not running in task manager.
- Right-click your game shortcut and click ‘Properties’.
- On the ‘Properties’ window select the ‘Compatibility’ tab.
- At the very bottom, ensure that you have the ‘Run As Administrator’ box checked/enabled.
- Try to launch the client again.
That doesn’t work, and the process won’t end in my task manager; if I open it all again, I end up getting this message:
“Unable to open archive file
Guild Wars 2 is unable to access its archive file C:\Users\(my name)\AppData\Roaming\Guild Wars 2\Local.dat.
Please verify that this file is accessible and writable, and that no other program is currently using it."
If I click ok, or try to do anything from there on, nothing shows up, and I have to restart my computer to get the dang process to stop :/.
Just today, I have run into a major problem with running my client, and with reaching the launcher for the game. Not 5 hours ago, I was playing the game just fine after recently downloading the Halloween patch, and after leaving and coming back from class, I suddenly found that my client would get hung on the very first logo that appears when you first open the client, where it downloaded the game originally. No matter what I did, the client stays stuck with just that screen, and I eventually have to end the process itself in order to just get it to close properly. I’m not sure if this has something to do with the recent patch that bugged out the program, or if it’s just my computer (I’m having similar problems with the League of Legends Client). What can I do to try and fix this?
