Hello everyone,

This will probably be my final update on this issue, Last night every few hours I did a -repair and tried to log my guardian on. Later last night, the -repair seemed to download a few files, and I was able to log my guardian on and get him the heck out of lornar pass.

I spent about 8 hours playing in sparkfly fen with my 7 alts, both before and after I finally got my guardian logged on successfully, and I had not one single issue. Also, after I got my guardian our of lornar pass, I played on him for 2 hours without issue.

My personal hunch is that there may have been a small glitch with a recent patch and maybe the game’s file checking utility was wrong about the size of a file, or maybe a recent update pushed a bad file, or maybe I really did have a bad file and the -repair just didn’t catch it the first 10 or so times it ran.

Anyhoo, whatever happened, thank you all very much for your kind and prompt troubleshooting tips. In case something like this ever happens again I will follow the advice given to me, and probably make another thread on this forum, so far this game’s community has been great from what I’ve seen, and I thank you all!

Just a quick check-in. My guardian is permastuck in Lornar pass. Any attempt to log him in even just to get him out of there results in a CTD, immediately, but I’ve been playing with my alts in sparkfly fen all day without issue. At this point I’d just be happy with getting my guardian out of lornar pass so I could play him =]

Thank you to all who offered advice, I think at this point I’m just stuck playing alts.

Before I deleted local.dat and ran an image, I was able to play on my necro in the bloodtide coast zone for quite some time, and I was also able to complete a story mission.

I then deleted local.dat and ran an -image and another -repair.

My guardian still crashed immediately on login.

I have not tried image yet, I will do so and report back, thank you for the advice. I will also delete local.dat before I do so I will post back, if it works or not, just so this topic may be of help to others.

System Specs:
Intel I5 Quad Core 3.3 Ghz Processor
Asus P8Z68-V Pro Motherboard
2 – 8 Gig sticks of CORSAIR Vengeance DDR3 1600
Asus Geforce GTX 570 – 1.28 Gig of VRAM
Corsair 850 Watt Power supply

In addition to that I have 4 hard drives and a standard SATA optical drive, using the onboard sound, I have a USB mouse and Keyboard, nothing else real exotic is attached or installed on the computer.

No other apps or games have routinely crashed, this system has been very stable for three months or so.

I have attached the output of the most recent guild wars 2 crash log after I attempted to login on my guardian copied to a text file to this post.

If you need additional diagnostic information, please let me know, I tried to include everything I thought was relevant.

I also just tried disabling reflections in game and turned texture detail to medium, even thought it’s been running great with them both to high or ultra for almost two months.

PS. I just logged on my Necro, and she’s been able to get into the bloodtide coast zone and and play without issue so far.

Hi All,

I’ve been playing this game fine for 45 days or so. It played just fine last night. Starting this morning I’m getting constant crashes typically whenever I try to enter a new zone it would seem. most of the crashes seem to involve a texture or file being the wrong size, at least that’s what I understand from reading the log files.

I just did a clean install of the recommended Nvidia graphics card drivers. I’ve run their game adviser utility and the logfile looked OK to me, but I’ve submitted it to support already.

I’ve run the repair utility multiple times to no avail. The longest I’ve ever been able to play is on my thief, where I actually made it to a zone that was causing issues and started a story mission. My Guardian is stuck in a zone now and whenever I try to pick him the game immediately crashes.

I ran a windows checkdisk on my game installs drive, which came up clean. The game drive is a seperate physical drive from the OS drive. Other games installed to the same drive work fine. The computer has been running for months without issue.

Was there an update last night or something that I didn’t catch? Is this an issue other users have been running into?

Any help would be appreciated, and I’ll provide additional information upon request

PS. I just reran the repair utility, and reloaded the game, and the zone my guardian is stuck in is Lornar pass. The game immediately CTD’s when I pick him.

This is just an update to my original comment where my guild has the symptoms of the leader cannot edit nor has permissions to administrate the guild, and cannot change the MOTD, stuff like that.

Last night I tried a few things because it was suggested to me that my issue was due to the guild name being in use but not being rejected by the system on guild creation.

I do not think that is the case with me because I left the guild and I made a couple of new ones, with very uncommon, practically random names and I had the same issue, immediately upon guild creation the leader group had no admin permissions.

I deleted both of my ‘new’ guilds, and rejoined my old one, and had the other guild member leave so I’d be the leader again, and I still had no permissions.

I know there are probably many more pressing issues, but I’d appreciate it if at some point my issue could be looked into, or at least if we got some official reply about the permissions in a guild issue that would be nice.

Guild Leader only has one permission, and it’s I think the Edit Ranks one. Basically I cannot promote or demote people, edit permissions, create new groups, edit the guild MOTD, and the roster screen is outdated. For instance, I invited a work buddy and he declined and it still shows his invite as pending, and I can’t revoke it or reinvite him. Last night guild tag was empty, seems OK this morning.

One of my friends was able to join guild, but I cannot change his rank or anything, we seem to be accruing influence at this time.

I don’t think I’ve seen a resolution to this issue, so I’m just posting a ‘me too’ =]
