Try reading my post above before suggesting what games I should play.
Thanks.
I don’t mind grinding to get things with in reason, I accept I have to work for the things I want but when I only get one decent drop every 3-6 months that’s worth anything, It’s hard to justify the time I pour into this game for the very minimal rewards…
Yet until the next big decent MMO comes along it’s either GW2 or the drivel on TV…
They can have all the overpriced silly hats they want if they released some decent stuff along with it…
As for angry?
Hardly…
I was asked if I want silly hats and I answered…
Oh, so I don’t have to grind levels, just everything else?
Sounds fun…
Maybe if they spent more time on decent armor sets than silly hats I’d be less negative.
After spending weeks/months grinding out substandard crappy drops to make a small pathetic bit of gold, why wouldn’t I use it to buy a stupid hat so I can have a fuzzy feeling for five seconds before I hide it away on my character…
That’s a no If you were wondering….
I don’t even bother looking at the crap I pick up when I break it down anymore..
But I was told I wouldn’t have to grind, that’s why I started playing GW2 in the first place…
No, you just need to solo group content on your own and hold 20 rally points at once while killing all the bosses solo on an empty map because all the “group” players have moved on..
Easy right?
Group content made for groups that are not there even though that’s what the “groups” wanted…
In other words those that shouted loudest on the forums.
I got HOT a year ago and steadily over the last 6 months I see less and less players (that are not just gathering and running mobs into me) and I even went into the new LW stuff but it turns out it’s more of the same.
Big mobs with massive AOE damage and a lot of players AFK at WP’s.
Yet I still play because I have invested so much time into the GW games and there is nothing else out there to play.
(There is but I won’t go into why I stopped playing them.)
At the end of it all, I get to play a decent game for nothing. ( I am not F2P)
In the end, all the calls for group content has given me nothing.
I’ll play it but I always had a group in GW even if I was the only one online.
Sorry this turned into a bit of a rant.
Apologies to anyone who actually read it.

I’m stuck on this too as learning a completely alien set of movement skills in two seconds flat before I get Instagibbed by tendrils seems beyond my skillset…
Oh well fun for the first part anyway..
Also if I have to look it up on Facetube it’s not really playing is it?
My Ranger/Druid whatever (support class) has nowhere near the damage or toughness my Necro has (No I don’t use a staff, If i wanted to sound like a submarine I’d join the Navy…)
I had more fun and an easier time with a Thief than Guardian.
The last class I have to take to HoT is an Engineer not because I don’t like them but because I have taken six or so toons through the core maps and now gotten bored with going over the same places.
I will get my Engi there, just need a change of pace for a couple of days.
I main a Ranger and still think the damage is lower than the other classes.
(based on the fact my Rangers kill things slower than my other classes.)
Insert questions about set up and gear here..
I PVE only…

I was on a VB map when someone shouted in map chat that they had got gold on shooting gallery after 183 attempts and god knows how many hours of trying.
183 attempts? At a mini game most players (including me) will try once or twice?
Kudos to the guy/gal for putting in the effort ( I managed a 10 minute burst before I had to go off and batter something to death) and getting the reward (I’m sure it was worth it)
But 183 attempts on a mini game on the first Hot map?
I for one am glad I gave up on them after 10 minutes.
(probably less…)
Anyone that has completed more than one has my unwavering respect.( a couple of minutes anyway and that’s quite a lot…)
For me it depends on what time you play.
I’m in the UK and most of the T4’s I have been involved with are at the weekends at stupid o’clock in the morning.
Even then there have been less and less in the last few months as new content comes out and players have moved to newer maps.
Unless you are in a big guild who could organise a T4 map it could be a lost cause.
(unless you WvW or Pvp apparently, which I don’t…)
Map chat usually goes something like this…
Map T4?
Need help with Vamp HP, golem, frog HP, etc…
Luckily I got my T4’s in when people weren’t just there to gather mats and run mobs into me…
As an aside, I have 160 odd bladed glove boxes knocking around I can’t do anything with…

Just like to say again, open maps should be open and explorable not gated.
Stick as many jump puzzles and (insert whatever here) behind gates as much as you want if it doesn’t affect MAP COMPLETION or gaining a Ranger/ Druid whatever pet..
Can I complete so and so jump puzzle?
Probably not as I don’t like them and don’t have the patience or time to spend hours on them for a chest full of crap.
I already have to jump through hoops ( literally in some cases) for even the basic achievements in the game.
(Don’t get me started on the Lions Arch Karka shooting)
Yeah, wait for night time for a door to open then do a jump puzzle and it’s in the bag…
Of course you have six hours to waste on the one thing..
Isn’t this supposed to be fun?
Explorable should be just that. I had no time limits or needed a massive amount of players to get around Queensdale or any of the other core maps.
Why now?
The only time I have noticed a populated DS map is when the daily is there.
A lot of the masteries in DS are gated behind map progression.
I believe an achievement relies on meta completion too.
In fact more than one…I find it populated every time at map reset. If I happen to not end up on a populated one, there’s usually one on LFG.
I guess it depends on where you live and what time zone you are in.
I live in the UK and DS is pretty much dead all the time, even when using LFG.
Staying up till four in the morning (my time) to complete a couple of masteries doesn’t really work for me.

I can only speak from my experience but when in HoT I get massive frame rate problems after an hour or so, even though in vanilla GW2 |I have none. My drop rates are.. well..I get better drops out of the back of my dog. (3 months between decent drops and i mean 250g type drops. one every 3 months…that’s not even remotely good..) Dead maps causing me to change map every 15 mins or so…plus they keep making me go to Orr for my dailies That or Dragon’s Reach, which is almost always dead.
Yes, I tried LFG for DR, it ended up with the three of us looking awkward and we went our separate ways, vowing to never speak of it again…
Yet I keep playing as I have invested a lot of time into this game (the one before it too…)
I would just like to get the occasional award in recognition of this.
Open world maps should be just that, open world.
Not sure why you think they aren’t
Areas of map blocked by ‘Vines’ reliant on map meta to proceed is why.

As a mainly solo player who tags onto group events then leaves when job is done,
I love the ’it’s multiplayer’ line.
I have to group do I?
Who with?
For the last week or so, I have been on dead map after dead map, taking rally points solo because there is nobody around or have players just run past me.
I have accepted that some content I will never do, due to lack of skill or the group content I have no interest in and mastery 75 is where i’ll stay for now.
Open world maps should be just that, open world.
I have been lucky enough to do DS (about 3 weeks ago) but even trying to get another run is more hassle than it’s worth.
For now I’m happy enough doing my own thing and leaving the groups (wherever they are) to do theirs.
Normally it wouldn’t bother me so much but the fact I soloed most of it sort of grated.
The rescue 10 people one is even worse because that sometimes spawns hordes of bugs, sometimes champs and you can lose credit while fighting as they are time consuming.
Then again, there is the flip side where you get rewards for quests when you were only in the same area.
Did a search but nothing came up.
After watching three players run past Neary’s start point I decided to start it.
Then soloed it until the last part, when I was joined by another player.
As we reached the pact base, Neary had a chat with the Chief engineer.
During this I got the ‘Inactive’ message and lost the credit for the quest I started.
Needless to say, Doc Elly was on her own..
for putting the only ranger pet I want in WvW, no really, it was fun getting steam rollered by a zerg 5 times and not getting anywhere close to it. (fixing my armour every two minutes was fun too.) Otherwise I enjoy the game but please don’t force me to play game types I don’t enjoy (or want to play)..otherwise..carry on.
had to log out and log in again…pain…
tried that..hasn’t worked. I can’t believe I get suppressed trying to help players….
make that 30 mins…
was offering to help on a skill point but was suppressed for a good 20 minutes due to excessive messaging after 3 offers..what is that about? am I supposed to not be helpful; then?
