Hide option for pauldrons, please ? [Outfits]

I think you can hide shoulders on outfits by going into your armor and toggling hide armor check box. That’s how I hide the head pieces on most outfits that have them cause I find them to be quite ugly.

I’m afraid you can’t toggle off shoulders on outfits. You can only toggle off headpieces and, in the case of older outfits, gloves. The old town clothes system didn’t have a shoulder slot, so that might be why, but most of the outfits also have built in shoulders, so they can’t really be removed.

In the case of the crystal nomad outfit though, the shoulders are explicitly floating, so it should be fully possible to toggle them off. Should, but probably isn’t. I hope they make it possible though.

While I’m not sure if it’d be possible to disable the shoulders on the other outfits, they should at the very least let us disable the floating crystal shoulders on the crystal nomad outfit. On the other outfits, the shoulders are a part of the model, but in the case of the crystal nomad outfit the shoulders are floating. It shouldn’t take that much effort to get rid of those…

Seriously, I’ve wanted the ability to turn off shoulders for outfits for a while now. The Shadow Assassin pauldrons are especially hideous on male characters, but I gotta say, the crystal shoulders for the Nomad outfit? They need to GO!

Feedback/Questions: Town clothes, Costumes, & Combat

Initially I was very excited about the wardrobe and town clothes being made available for combat, which meant I could finally walk around with my guardian wearing the town clothes below together with Infinite Light.

But then I got a lot of the excitement drained out of me when I learned this combination of town clothes will be disappearing completely because I’m not allowed to mix-and-match these pieces, one of which is from the executioner costume.

Also the below pic is not photoshopped, just changed between normal outfit and town clothes very quickly while taking screenies, as there’s a brief gap where the sword doesn’t disappear.

Really the ONLY drawback is the town clothes stuff, everything else about the wardrobe is awesome. There wouldn’t be as much complaint if they hadn’t revealed they’d be messing up the mix-and-matching of the town clothes.

Yes, we need to get spears on land. They already have skins for them that work perfectly, we just need them actually implemented on land.

The lighting is really what does it, Kichwas, and while the Krytans in Guild Wars Prophecies generally were of a darker skintone than the Ascalonians, they were never as dark-skinned as the people of Elona. Try to take a look through this list of images of Krytan NPCs in Guild Wars and then look at this image Queen Jennah. Better yet, try and compare Jennah’s ancestor Salma and her :P

Jennah is mostly fine as she is. She just needs some shoes. I know I wouldn’t take her seriously if she looked like what you propose.

Possibly Royal Illegitmate Child(ren)?

The whole deal with the Chosen sacrificed atop the Bloodstones have actually very little to do with them being magically talented, but much more to do with them the Chosen of the Flameseeker Prophecies. The Flameseeker Prophecies speak of (Among many other things, not all unveiled) the Chosen causing the downfall of the Mursaat, the Unseen Gods of the White Mantle. Thus the Mursaat get the White Mantle to locate these potential Chosen and then sacrifice them, thus not only removing potential obstacles, but also powering the door keeping the Titans locked away.

As for the topic at hand, regarding the line of Doric; we currently have two people in Guild Wars 2 who are of the line of Doric: Queen Jennah and Commander Wade Samuelsson of Ebonhawke. However, it’s entirely possible there may be more who have descended from royalty, in one way or another. I recall a fun line while questing in Kryta in Prophecies, where an NPC says the following of the Krytan royal family after they had all either fled or died: “The Royals, however, were known for their…er…indiscretions, and it is likely that there are a few with royal blood in their veins who still live in Kryta.”

If You Could Go Back in Time...

If I could go back in time and save someone in Guild Wars 1, I’d -definitely- save Prince Rurik, if mainly because he died way too early in the campaign. I don’t mind his death, but I just feel it was way too early in the campaign for him to die. I also wonder why we never even got to see any reaction to the painful death of his betrothed, but that’s just a pet peeve of mine.

As for Guild Wars 2… Not sure. I’d say Forgal, but his death was actually great, I just wish we actually got to -see- his last stand. I guess that maybe I would save Demolitionist Tonn. That asura was quite the amusing wise-cracker.

Best Swordsman in Tyrian History

My personal favourite pick if we talk Tyria the world is Turai Ossa, if mainly for his sheer kittenery, but also partly because I just don’t know that much about Shiro Tagachi. Then again, Shiro Tagachi did seem overwhelmingly in the Factions trailer, so hard to say. If we talk Tyria the continent, it’s between Rurik or Adelbern for me.

(P.S. I personally tend to ignore game mechanics and bad AI when it comes to lore.)

Well, I can’t decide on a single best swordsman, but I’ve got the following in mind as some of the best from experience and lore accomplishments:
King Adelbern.
Prince Rurik.
Shiro Tagachi (Note, I haven’t played Factions, so this is only from the trailer and what little I’ve read).
And Turai Ossa, the guy who beat the kitten out of a powerful undead lord with just a sword and a shield.
