Quiver would be nice as a back slot item. Pirates throughout history have used bows BTW. You are just thinking of pirates from gunpowder + times.

I run Axe/Warhorn as my main weapon. The multi-hit of the default attack + Split Blade + traps = multiple mobs die fast. It causes havoc in WvW also. Add in the chill for runners, epic birds for more condition and the Speed + ability boost make it a no-brainer.

Go ahead and tell an Army Ranger they can’t use a knife.

Carrion Devourer for general WvW because of range + AoE poison cloud and Red Moa for buffs while sitting on a keep wall defending.

PvE? Meh, never mattered much to me but I do like the Murrelow for tanking and poison.

i think rangers need better elite skills…. the only real good one i have is mistfire wolf for dmg and “rampage as one” for a speed buff to run…. the super elite skills suck
