When this game first came out, I was able to run maximum settings in World vs World and Lions Arch and get around a playable 15-20FPS in big fights

I come back and that’s not the case anymore. Im grinding to a halt at 10 fps at LOWEST SETTINGS in big fights. What gives? I’m virus free i cannot seem to figure out the problem. I’m going to list my computer specs along with a dxdiag

Hey guys! I just had a few questions as to some of the things i can do as a fresh 80. What are fracticals, what is meta? Im a total noob when it comes to GW2 end game ( i come from WoW ^^) Everyone has this cool looking armor, how do i go about getting that?

Are you aware that Anet added some options that allow you to adjust the number of enemy players that you can see at one time, and also their level of detail? It’s in Options, under the Video settings.

Are you aware that when this game first released i could run it on ultra with 100+ people on screen and my fps remained playable? Even on LOWEST settings (including the ones you mentioned) i still get 3fps in mass battles. Anets problem not mine.

Culling? Educate me please :P

It’s not happening on your end. Anytime there is a very large scale battle anywhere on the map (50v50, etc) everyone on the map gets a sudden lag spike until the battle is over.

My current specs are:
Intel Core i5-3570K Ivy Bridge OC @ 4.4ghz
AMD Radeon 6870 @ 950
8gb ddr3 ram @ 1600 9/9/9/28

And I’m getting the same lag you’re experiencing, as is everyone in my guild and reportedly everyone on my server. Your computer is doing all it can, the lag is happening on Anet’s end, though the Dev’s here on the forums have assured us that they’re fixing, and considering how they fixed culling, I think most people are willing to wait and see how it turns out.

Thanks for the reply. Its good to know ol’betsy here can still push out the fps. One thing i remember though is that it wasn’t like this when the game first game out. I rarely had lag in WvW even in mass battles. What have they changed to cause this lag?

Massive lag even on lowest settings. When guild wars released i could play on ultra and my fps would never drop below 15. Thats atleast playable. I come back from a 6 month break to find my gaming computer running 3fps at mass battles on LOWEST settings…

I shouldn’t be lagging. I cleared all background applications and set GW2 priority to realtime. Can someone please offer some insight?

Why does US suck so much compared to EU severs. Like, it makes me want to rage and [insert profanity here] Everytime my sever (fort aspenwood) fights blackgate (Lots of EU transfers) we get utterly destroy with BG taking almost everything on all four maps.
